I must say I was quite skeptical about this outfit. But my doubts slowly dissolved as the team lead by Morgan got to work. I was quit impressed by their professionalism, attentiveness and genuine desire to understand you so in order to get the best matches. I am fully aware this is not a simple, let alone an important exercise, given the pay off! They seem to understand what I am looking for and I am convinced sooner or later they will find a perfect match. But then, I am having a really good time with the candidates they have picked for me. They are very nice ladies that are fun to have lunch with, they are sophisticated and good conversationlists. With regard to costs--the level of service does match the costs. I would thank the whole team for their dedication and I have no hesitation to recommend this team to anyone. Its nice to have lunch!

I joined about 2½ - 3 years ago. They kept setting me up with the same type of men. I kept telling them, “set me up with better matches, better looking guys, more personable, etc,” and I kept getting the same type of goofy men.The last two-three months, I got no dates. They let my contract expire with not dates.I would never become a me member of, It’s just lunch! Big waste of a lot of money!

As another reviewer wrote, the sales pitch sounds terrific and exciting, all they need from you is a few thousand dollars and they will get right to work on setting you up with one loser after another. I thought, mistakenly, that because this is such an expensive service to join initially, that I would meet men who were financially well off and at the very least, were decently educated. WRONG!!As for myself, I am well educated, well traveled, attractive, in my 30’s and a hard working woman who makes a solid living for myself. When I joined the service, I was looking for a man who matched my socioeconomic status as well as a man who I could have intelligent and interesting conversations with. What I got from this service was out of the 30 dates that I went on, only 2 had more than a high school diploma and did something more advanced than work as an EMT (with no offense to EMT workers)!! And just so it’s clear because it’s not in their sales pitch, you are required to pay a large amount of money just to join the service and then you are billed every month $100 which buys you one single date every month. So not only do you pay an absurd amount to join the service, you then are billed $100 every month which gets you a single date every month.Here’s the long and the short of it, they sell you an ideal dating experience with promises to match you with the kind of matches that you tell them you are looking for but once you give them a decent chunk of change upfront (and sign their contract which is filled with an abundance of loopholes on how to extract more money from you, even when you decide to place your membership on hold or suspend the service for some time, you still need to pay monthly) once you have paid and signed on with them, get ready for an onslaught of true and genuine losers who leave you scratching your head wondering how on earth they were able to afford the sign up fee in the first place.However, if you’re unattractive, uneducated other than a high school diploma, you have never traveled outside of the United States or Illinois for that matter, you’re willing to find a way to pay for an overpriced service so you can meet likeminded losers like yourself, then you have found the right service to accommodate you. As for myself, not only was this a waste of money, it most certainly was a waste of time since I did not meet a single decent match throughout my year and a half on this service.This was my honest experience and the feedback that I can provide to others who are wondering if this service is worth your time and money. Rest assured, it’s not worth either, unless you fit the above loser description.

I joined IJL just about two weeks ago! It has been awesome! I had two major challenges, how to meet woman that would be of interest to me and I am not a great starter... They definitely solve those two problems! I have loved the coaching and support and in my first 2 weeks I have already had two dates and they were wonderful! I am only starting but this process really works for me, especially given that I am a professional with limited free time to all the leg work to get started! I highly recommend IJL!

After hearing about Its Just Lunch for quite some time, I finally gave it a shot back in November and got a membership. The service is certainly not cheap, but if you can afford it, it certainly does put your mind at ease. Gone were the days of endlessly browsing online matchmaking websites. No more online window shopping. The work is done for you.After being a bit anxious and excited for my first several virtual Zoom dates, they really did not go very well at all. I didnt feel that the women I was meeting were fits for me. Additionally, while it didnt happen often, I had one person fail to attend the date and a couple dates were interrupted midway through by outside distractions. At times I was disappointed and questioned whether this was worth the cost.However, what I like about the service is that after each person I was able to meet, I was then able to speak with my matchmaker, Morgan and tell her about my experiences. I was able to talk about what worked, what didnt, and better discovered what I was looking for.As time went by, I feel that the IJL team did a great job curating my matches and Ive been able to meet some nice women who were compatible with what I was looking for. Im now nearly 5-months into my membership and I have to say, Ive been satisfied. Some of the virtual dates have led to subsequent physical dates. At the time of writing this review, Ive met an awesome woman, and Im optimistic and hopeful that it blossoms into something special. However, I know that if it doesnt, while it will be a personal setback, the service is still there and these matchmakers are going to keep working at it until I do find what Im looking for. They are all great, positive people, and it has been a delight to have their support on my journey.I would definitely recommend the service.

Giant waste of money. $3,000 to start up, and then $28 to keep your account on hold while youre not using the service. My account was on hold and I asked to cancel the service. Apparently I was 3 days too late for the billing cycle, so they are keeping my money. Oh and they are only available M-F 8am to 6pm. If you work 7am to 7pm like me, then good luck using the service.

Let me just say, these ladies at Its Just Lunch have it down !My 2 dedicated matchmakers, Alexis & Morgan, have been wonderful this first 30 days of my membership. they take an extreme amount of care and planning for each date they set up, of which I have had 5 so far, Being a guy in my 60s. I had no idea that this was going to be such a comfortable experience. The openness of communication between the client and the matchmakers makes the process so comfortable, reassuring and enjoyable, far superior to my Match.com experience. I would recommend I.J.L. to anyone out there that is serious about finding a compatible, like minded companion.

I have had a great experience with Its Just Lunch Chicago. I have met great women and had two great relationships with them. The one I am with now is the one. Morgan listens to me and is responsive around what is going to work. I am more that satisfied and recommend them.

If I could give them a negative review I would!!On October 30th, I decided to join IJL. I specified exactly what I wanted, including a payment plan for this service. I had just gone through a major surgery, and this was a very large expense. Vanessa claimed Sabrina understood. Vanessa said it was such a great opportunity, and such a great deal going on, and something that I shouldnt pass up. Sabrina, the lady in accounting, said the package would be $2700, and the payment plan would come out to be as low as $198 a month. I agreed to that. I was very specific that I wanted a plan. Not only did I state that to her, but also to the matchmaker on multiple phone calls. I am not unclear where the miscommunication was. A week later, I checked my credit card, and the full amount had been charged on my card. I called my matchmaker, and asked her what happened. Even she was aware that I wanted a payment plan. She called Sabrina and left her a voicemail. I never heard back from Sabrina. Not only is this very frustrating, but it is extremely unprofessional and dangerous to mishandle someone elses money. I told Vanessa what my criteria was for a match. It was very straightforward.Vanessa mentioned how all their clients are successful men, and have their business and affairs all in order. She also mentioned that if I wanted to pause my membership, I could. She never mentioned a fee being involved. I later connected with Morgan. She told me about my first two matches. They sounded great. She told me that prior to my dates, they will call me and leave me a message with all the details. This never happened. Not once. When I asked why I never received them, she stated that that is not part of the package, and that I have to specifically ask for it. However, earlier we had agreed that I was going to get a message with the details. Once again, I am unclear where the miscommunication occurred. Later on, I had one date that was scheduled two weeks after I received his details. This is what my $2700 is getting me? After I reported my feedback on the two dates, I was matched with a man that didnt have a single quality I asked for. I was beyond disappointed since Im paying a service nearly $3,000 to find me a match. My fourth match was a no-show. When we finally connected a week later, I found out that he works as a car detailer, and delivers pizza on the side. His behavior seemed odd and erratic, to the point where I thought he was under the influence of something. I must stress again that Vanessa had explicitly told me that this is a place with successful men with their affairs in order. My fourth match, however, was far from that. Fast forward to December 1, 2020. I get a charge on my card for $98.00 from IJL. Wondering what that was, I called to find out its a membership fee. This was never brought up to me when Sabrina went over everything. I called to speak to someone else from the team. Kathleen mentioned that there is a fee, along with a pause fee of $28.00 a month. I would have never agreed to any of this had that been mentioned to me earlier when this service was being explained to me. It was incredibly misleading. The first time I spoke to Sabrina to go over the finances, I hesitated and expressed much concern because of the initial membership fee. That would have been the perfect opportunity to mention the monthly fees and the pause fees. The company says that they cannot guarantee chemistry, but apparently they can also not guarantee proper communication, attention to detail, forthcomingness with existing paying clients, and taking accountability for their lack of efficiency. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! They scam people, and are complete frauds! Im trying to get a portion of my money back, and they keep saying no! They are the unethical, unprofessional and not understanding at all!!DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!

Ive been using Its Just Lunch for several months now. Rachel is my client adviser and is really nice and pleasant to work with.  She listens well, takes feedback both positive and negative to help improve the fit I have with future matches.  The dates have been made to fit my schedule at a central location for both.  They take care of  making reservations as well.  Its been a positive experience and a nicer alternative to online dating.

I have to say in my first month with the company, Rachel has been on the ball as far as trying to match me up with the best partner possible. I wanted to let her and whoever sees this know how much I appreciate the effort that they put in to try to make their clients happy.

Extremely disappointing. These 5 star reviews that you see and read…they ask you to do them. I actually did it at first because I raised concerns that I had and I felt bad for the match maker because she had just started (more on the match maker part later). It will start off well, steady communication, all sunshine and rainbows but all of that will fall off a cliff quickly. After a few dates in the first month or two it will go downhill. You will get one scheduled date a month which they agree to when you sign up. Basically you will start getting the bare minimum service and say that it is 2-3 weeks between matches but that doesn’t include when the date is scheduled. You go thru match makers like water. They will respond with “Unfortunately, we cannot predict chemistry. Dating is a process, and often times all about timing.” Well its hard to get a good match when there is no chemistry with the match maker because you keep getting a different one every month if not every other month. Here is a prime example. Got a date over a holiday weekend. They usually call the next day for feedback. Didn’t call that day or the day after so finally I call and they say “sorry with the holiday weekend we are catching up.” Really?!? Did the holiday sneak up on you? Then they will ask “did you guys have anything in common?” Again…really?!?! They should know the answer to that question before you even ask it. So its hard to have a rapport with a match maker when you have things like this happen. I will give them my schedule for this month and the next and then they will try to schedule dates on the days that you told them were not available. Dating is hard as it is today and dating services like this just make it even harder. Don’t spend your hard earned money on Its Just Lunch. They will just take your money and your lunch and say “Thank you” after. Maybe instead of Its Just Lunch it should be called Its Just your money

If you move around a lot, beware. They will not tell you this up front, but they are a *franchise* of IJL, not part of the core corporate team. This means if you move, like I did, they will not transfer your membership. I am out over 4000 dollars that I paid (and the hundreds spent putting my membership on hold while I figured out my moving situation) because they will not transfer my membership to corporate. This seems to be purely a local franchise decision, not a corporate decision as the IJL corporate offices were the ones to suggest this. I cant speak for IJL corporate, but for this *franchise*, steer clear.

She is also very attentive and patient when it comes to working around my constraints. Her positivity keeps me excited about my search. This is a kudos for Meghan Costantino. Meghan is polite, polished and professional. Meghan has a very positive attitude and every time we speak it almost feels more like friends catching-up versus a client conversation. In the past 2 months, Ive worked with Kelsey and Rachel and both have been great. Now, Im solely communicating with Rachel. She always calls asking for my feedback. IJL has been introducing me to the type of professional women that have qualities that Ive asked for and I havent had any complaints on that. I wish they would offer to tell us feedback from the women after I meet them, but they dont without more of a cost. Not giving 5 stars because the service does cost a bit and theres a cost for sign up, putting service on hold, then starting up again, and for feedback. I think that Erica is doing a great job matchmaking and Rachel has been good to talk to and applying my feedback.

The process is simple. You tell them what you want and they match you and set it all up. You show up. You each get your own check and if you want it’s on you to trade contact info and keep it going. After each date, you and your advisor check in. They ask specific question about your match’s appearance, mannerisms, conversation and the place... They use that to fine tune for the next match. You never wait too long to hear from them with a new match. It’s on you to make the most of process and share honest feedback with your advisor. You become almost friends and they learn about you as you go through the process. My advisor is Gina and she is wonderful. She feels my excitement and frustration and genuinely wants to see me succeed in love. While I haven’t found it yet, I find each new match is getting closer.

I’ve been working with Rachel for a few months and have found her to be extremely helpful. She’s open to feedback and helps me try to find the best match(es), while being more than accommodating in terms of schedule changes and specifics related to a date. Rachel is accessible when I have questions and makes sure that I talk to an actual person when I call...not an answering machine. Most important, she makes me feel comfortable with the service, which helps alleviate the stress associated with dating again.

I would never use this service ever again and I will warn EVERYONE to not join. It was a $2400 mistake.I gave them a chance the first 4 dates, thinking theyre still getting to know me and what I prefer. However, when they started switching up who my matchmaker was every single phone call, I started to feel like I wasnt special and no one was actually really interested in what I was really looking for. In fact, on multiple occasions I had to tell multiple girls that such and such is written in my profile...and after typing something on their computer theyd respond oh yup, I see it here which says to me they never looked at my profile to begin with. How can a supposed professional matchmaker match me up with someone PERFECT when they didnt even look at my profile to begin with?I am extremely upset with this company and the fact that I wasted SO much money and my time to go out with people I would never in my life consider going out with. Not only that, my membership ended in July. It is December and they are STILL calling me. However, they dont identify themselves and they call from different numbers than the work number on their website. I consider that harassment. Dont call me and say you have good things lined up for December, but dont tell me from where youre calling? Your perky voice gives it away.I will NEVER join this service again and I will scream it from the rooftops that it was a horrible experience and no one should join. No. One.

I have been doing IJL for about 6 weeks now and I am very impressed with the service. It takes the stress off of a first date by having the matchmakers set everything up for you so you don’t have to worry about the details. You just show up and see how it goes. I also like how the matchmakers learn about you through your experience on the dates and use this information to match you in the future. Its Just Lunch (IJL) is dating service for busy working professionals from many different industries. Their clients are highly educated, self-motivated, active and involved with their community. I believe they are all looking for someone similar.Erica was my matchmaker, and Rachel was my client advisor. Both IJL team members were highly professional, listened to what I was looking for in a partner, and I believe did their best to match me with a potential partner. I really want to stress Rachels prompt communication and professionalism - she was always upbeat and very quick to inform me of any scheduling changes.The biggest challenge that I see with the entire process is the blind date part. I dont have an issue sitting down for an hour over a cocktail chatting with almost anyone, however I cant say the same for the person across the table. I would much rather spend time with someone that wanted to be there based on initial mutual chemistry prior to the date, rather than someone who wasnt physically attracted to me, but OK with me on paper based on their match criteria. Additionally, it would be great to get feedback from the date, to determine if you were doing something appropriate or not appropriate. Unfortunately, thats an additional cost.Dating is not an exact science, and there are no guarantees when you meet anyone - it really comes down to mutual chemistry and interests. This group was great to work with and Im happy I used their services.Ive been through several matches already and even though they didnt immediately work out (which is normal no matter how you approach dating), Ive gained friends as well from some matches with whom I wasnt romantically compatible!My current match, someone Id never have found on my own simply due to location, is fantastic and we hit it off well enough on the first date that I went as far as putting my membership on hold. This is after only 3 months of membership.Ive tried numerous dating apps/sites and ended up with more matches than I could even begin to filter through, it was more work than my actual job! IJL took that part of the process off of my plate and did it for me and collected the information organically through conversation including all of the same points of information the apps/sites ask as well. Then they did all of the leg work and I didnt have to do anything else until they found a match who was close enough for a face-2-face meet! #EasyPeasyCost-wise, the math worked out that given how much I was paying for other apps/services and comparing that with the fact that I never got to a single date with those other services, IJL was more than worth the cost and if time proves this match isnt right in the long term, everything is already/still there to pick back up and continue on with just a phone call.Such a valuable service for the busy professional, I cant believe matchmaking services like IJL arent more common.

I.J.L. has been good to me. They have given me the experience of dating again, something I havent been able to get through online dating. The dates havent been completely up to what I have been hoping, but that has little to do with what I.J.L. has done in providing me dates. The only improvements I would recommend is providing a little more feedback from what the other person says, and paying more attention to where they setup the dates, (example: one date I had was a vegetarian, and they setup a date between us at a steakhouse with very limited vegan options).

I found the service to be expensive and not all that helpful. Many dates were with men who were not interested in dating someone who didnt live in the city-so I had to correct this with the staff, which was open to suggestions. I was promised personalized approach with the actual matchmaker which did not happen, once you meet the matchmaker and take a brief questionnaire, thats it. Then other young women coordinate logistics and collect feedback from you to refine the process. I did not get a return on my investment, but met 2 gentlemen that I have had more then 1 date with. I found working with Gina to be a good experience, although she was not the matchmaker. This is an expensive service that doesnt provide the value that was expected. I would not recommend this service, as you do not get what you pay for in terms of quality and quantity.

Crappy service for women. I was set up on only one date each month. I have an advanced degree and spent most of my life in academia and was set up with several men who had never attended college. I was clear I wanted to meet men that were in a similar socioeconomic situation but that provision also was ignored in my matches. Some of my matches were surprised/disappointed to be matched with someone of my ethnic background, those were tense and short interactions. I always asked by dates about their experience and learned the men typically are sent on dates at least once or twice a week. Its Just Lunch was a waste of money and most of my dates were a waste of my time. I have had better experiences picking up guys in the produce section of Marianos and Whole Foods.
