Was cursed out by cashier for being a good Samaritan, placing an important slip of paper found on on the floor on the counter. Contacted owner several times for several days, leaving phone messages, never returned call. Dont see how such a poorly run business is allowed to operate in a respectable neighborhood.

Yes, ive had my ups and downs with this place! But i love there work ethic! People skills are so so! And thanks for my roll of quarters.

Not sure what all the hate about this place is about, seems like a lot of people are out of touch.I’ve been going here for years for vehicle stickers and quarters and never have any issues. They’re always professional and nice to me.Yeah maybe they’re not always overtly friendly but... it’s a currency exchange, not a local business. Why should they be happy to see you?

I had a really bad experience with this currency exchange. If possible, they will even choose whom they will serve. In spite of the fact that the store is supposed to provide service until 6:00 pm on Saturdays, they said that the store was closed at 4:30 pm. In short, it is unsteady, capricious and unreliable. Especially, one leading worker, who is possibly the manager of the store, is really insane. I still do not know how this abnormal personality has been appointed as a manager. So, I recommend that you should not stop by this unprofessional and unresponsive currency exhange.

2 employees came out from behind the glass without masks. One was cleaning the window and when I asked her to not come close to me without a mask she said “f... you” don’t tell me what to do and went on a rant. I asked for the manager and she said it was her. I asked for a name and she wouldn’t give it. I’m shocked by this behavior to say the least. Multiple folks in line heard this ... sad day for society.

Hours say open until 8 during the week on the front door. Then online it says 7:45. Walked to the store at 640 and the door was locked. Someone was still in the store and saw me, did some hand motion and cut the lights off.

This location doesn’t sell vehicle stickers and the women working there are uncouth. Bad value all around. A huge disservice to the neighborhood.

This was my First time coming there to cash a check, the lady called the last currency exchange in which I cashed my last check and stated that I needed to go back there to cash the check. What’s the purpose of their Currency exchange if they don’t cash NEW customers checks, the check cashing fees are threw the roof and during this COVID-19 pandemic why are they making the matter of cashing a check difficult. I thought their purpose was making money. Everyone is already going through it to get money and here in Hyde park on 53rd Our local currency exchange is Currently Not taking New customers or Don’t have a policy in place for cashing First timers checks. Black businesses always stating Support your local Black business, when how can WE when the customer service is terrible and No sympathy of trying to HELP.

I came in about 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon for a license place renewal sticker - Id just gotten a ticket for being late to renew. The wait was less than five minutes. Once I was called to a window, the service was both cordial and competent. A relief to get my errand done so quickly and easily!

This is one of the worse currency exchanges I have ever been to. I’ve gone a few times because of the convenience of the location. The staff are unprofessional and rude. They don’t greet you. They act is if you are bothering them by coming into the place. I would rather walk 4-5 blocks out of my way than to have to go there for anything. It is consistently an unpleasant experience.

If I could I would give this no stars/negative five. The employees are rude, I mean the moment you walk in this place its like. Can I help you with an attitude. Its apparent that the women there do not like there jobs. If I may recommend ladies, WORK AT A MORGUE!If you can avoid this place at all cost. As recommend by one of the women that work there, go to 47th and cottage grove your service would be better appreciated there.

Racist, overweight, white man working here—the low star rating is very accurate in regards to this establishment. The overweight individual in question clearly lied about his ability to notarize my documents due to the color of my skin...as if I was partaking in some sort of illegal activities with documents from my employer. He was so dismissive and walked off as fast as a koala bear, because he was well aware of his racism in action. People of color and like-minded people, DO NOT GO HERE. He claims to be in charge to, so do not support this racist establishment in our heart of Hyde Park. Went to another currency exchange nearby and was in and out and notarized. Whew, the difference!

The employees are so unfriendly and unhelpful!! I would prefer to give my $$ and business to a more pleasant establishment than deal with these bozos. How an employer hires such crappy people is beyond me

READ THE REVIEWS! This place IS as awful as it seems. I came here twice to purchase city vehicle stickers and both times, the service has been nonexistent. The woman who works there (same woman in a year) was so awful, I honestly don’t know how she’s still employed there. She must have multitudes of people complain about her, either she is very dependent and knows what she’s doing to where they don’t want to fire her, or I don’t know what else it could be because she can’t be that great of an asset with her lack of customer service. She is so rude and does not know what customer service means at all. She doesn’t care who you are or what you look like, her personality is attitude all the way. I will never ever go back to this place no matter how convenient the location is.

This was my first time eating at Currency Exchange. I was on my way to another restaurant and drove past it and decided to give it a try. I must say that I am glad I did. When I walked in I totally felt like I was at home the music and overallfeel feel was amazing. The environment was aid back and very chill. There were a mixture of folks eating as well as reading. There were also a large group of women crocheting at a table which I thought was very unique.After looking over the menu I decided to have the Super Bowl. WOW......it was jammed packed with so much flavor. I am sensitive to salt and it was not salty at all. Another thing I enjoyed is that it is self served. At anytime you can get more water, jam, honey, and so fortH. This style of restaurant made me feel like I was at home. I also was impressed with the restrooms both of them were very clean and smelled fresh!Thank you Currency Exchange for your wonderful service!

Beware, this location doesnt exchange any coins at all. I could understand the lesser coins not exchanging, but when there are 1 and 2 euro coins, one would think these would convert back into bills. An extreme inconvenience considering the fee they want to charge to convert.

Although it says that it closes at 8pm on the internet, I went at around 7:50pm and the door was locked. There was a customer coming out who said that they closed at 7:45 but the 2 women who worked there barely looked up. They did not acknowledge my presence or me trying to come in, they didnt offer any kind of explanation or show any empathy. I was just getting home from work and needed to take care of some business and thought I had time because of what I saw online. There are no hours of operation posted on the door and if they do close at 7:45, it should definitely be updated on the internet.

If I can give 1/4 of a star I would....Terrible ... Horrible Service....The lady that worked tonight was very rude and very ignorant.....not professional at all...Apparently she has a problem. I left out because it was pointless that I wasnt going to be able to get my business handled there. I called back to ask when the manager would be in, she replied that she was the manager..When will the owner be in , she said the owner dont be here... thats the problem. She needs to be FIRED!!! Dont patronize this place at all.

Awful service. I called to ask if the money gram worked and they insisted they couldnt even tell me that over the phone. Once when I was there the cashier tried to pick a fight with me.

My husband was there by 7:45 and they had already locked the doors. Bad customer service.

They only take or exchange Euros and Canadian dollars - I still dont understand whether they give you USD or not because the teller was so damn rude and unhelpful.
