After buying some thermal paste that seemed to have opened up in the bag before I opened it, I returned it to the store without a receipt seeing if it would be possible to exchange it. The staff there definitely could have not helped me but they were super nice and replaced it for me. I appreciate them so much for making it right. Will definitely be coming back.

Been going thier since around 2000. I also been to thier Downers Grove location also. Place is pretty clean porginaized and professionall people. Both had parking.Both locations has lots of shoping around them. About 3-5 minutes off the expressway. I only go 10am-2pm ish to avoid any expressway traffic. It an be brutalLots more parts then other stores. People know thier stuff also. Great deal on thier brand flash drives. Can get almost anything computer related stuff, home sercurity systems, even gaming systems and tons of books. Great deal on compressed air ( no one has that deal) and printer paper. I even ordered online and got within a day or two. Saved me gas and time.Only issue I have had in the past two years is thier security dvrs. I had a refurb Night Owl last years Went bad within a week. So returned it and had to test 3 more to get one that worked. Two made lloud noices apoun start up. Year later if that it failed. Now got an Amcrest new for only $120 4k without a drive. It seem to fail after 2 weeks. Shorta of boots but wont load completely. Returns arent to bad but its the driving part on my end.

Forget the other electronics places, Micro Center has everything you’ll ever possibly need. They even have things you had no idea existed!Friendly and knowledgeable staff are also a great plus for any project you’re working on. This is a great place to come and brainstorm ideas for computers, whether you’re just looking for a school laptop, or you’re a seasoned PC builder looking to outcompete NASA.I’m also very happy with their current buying restrictions on computer parts. This gives us normal people a chance at upgrading our hardware without turning to scalpers.True electronics hobby stores are nearly an extinct species these days, so do your part and support one of the last ones left in the Chicagoland area!

Buying and finding computers were great but the repair and service desk was terrible. I came in a few weeks ago for a battery change and was told that they were not in stock of a replacement so they printed out the Amazon product that I needed to buy and told me to come back when I got it so they can do the repair. When I came back they told me that it was all wrong and that I had to buy one from the manufacturer but I showed and told them the product that their employee told me to buy and they refused to do it. So it was just a waste of time and money.I did it myself and it took like 10 minutes and with the battery that they told me to buy and refused to install

NEVER GET YOUR COMPUTER REPAIRED HERE!!! I brought my laptop in to get repaired, and the manager tells me they will get back to me within 3 to 5 days to discuss what needed to be repaired and break down the costs. A week goes by and I hear nothing. Okay, maybe theyre backed up, theyll get back to me any moment now. Two weeks go by, and I start to worry. Have they even started on it? THREE weeks of no communication and I said enough was enough. I called them, only to find out that they HAVENT even touched my laptop! They started on it after I called to inquire about it. To make matters worse, I was told I had to wait another week for a part to arrive, and that when the part arrived, they would do the repairs that day. Okay! As long as I can finally get my computer back. That day comes and no response. I wait yet ANOTHER week, only to be completely fed up and called them, in which they tell me that the display is now not working. WHAT? I DIDNT BRING MY COMPUTER IN LIKE THAT! Telling me that i have to get a motherboard replacement, which was going to bring my repairs into the thousands, which is basically not worth it to repair. I went there and got my computer from them. Curious, I opened my computer myself only to find that the connector from the display to the motherboard was destroyed. THEY did this, and had the nerve to charge me for repairing it. Moral of the story? Dont give Micro Center your business, and if you can, learn how to repair your own computer. If you want something done right, you do it yourself. They wasted a month and a half of my time, and left my computer in a worse state than it already was.

My partner and I both love this tech shop! They have had everything Ive needed tech wise and for my laptop. They also replaced my laptop battery (which had swelled and created a bulge in my keyboard from an overheating accident). They did a great job and I was very thankful to have had their help!

I brought in my HP all-In-One they informed me itd have to be opened up for a ram upgrade and I agreed. I get back to Kansas because I took a vacation to Chicago and I see these black specs in my screen and I can see the light in my pc peaking. They did a real poor job in putting my pc back together.

Asked if they could price match an item. They come up with every excuse on why they cant. they dont have item blah blah blah. Just say you dont price match. its not like It was a shady website it was Amazon, you know the company that will eventually put you out of business! I tried giving my business to microcenter but it seems like the employees just dont care. Amazon wins again.Update: Item purchased, will receive Sept 2nd, I dont know why you keep telling me the policy. Multiple websites including the manufacture have the item listed cheaper.. Thanks anyway chief.

Ive been a regular customer and typically order replacement plans for damages for laptops, headsets etc. Never actually needed them until today. When I tried to bring in a monitor, the replacement plan couldnt cover it due to physical damage that was supposed to be covered. And because the purchase was made past 30 days they wouldnt even refund the plan (they kept emphasizing 2 months even though it was only 5 weeks)If you want to buy equipment just be careful and think twice about the plan that might not cover you

I walk into the service area, needing a very simple battery change on my laptop. The MicroCenter website says it’s $50 and can happen while you wait.First warning sign is a manager type voice around the corner, apologizing to someone on the phone for a snafu.Second warning sign is a technician not acknowledging my existence for three solid minutes.Third and worst warning sign was the guy coming from the back. Immediately awkward engagement, tells me they have to run “diagnostics” and might be 8 days. I reiterate that it’s a battery change and what the website says. He’s clueless, looking to the technician for help. The tech corrects him, they put their palms towards the ceiling, and I just shake my head and quietly leave.The B team was in this day.

By far the most knowledgeable staff for any computer needs. Occasionally you’ll get a staff member who pushes a warranty a little too much but it’s no big deal, they must be commission based after all. Every time I’ve come here, I walk out with something. I feel like a kid in a candy store. They price match too which is great.

It is so hot in sections of the store. I go there fairly often and find myself sweating. I cant even imagine being an employee there where all they have by the checkout is a wimpy $50 standing fan that doesnt feel like it works. I have to get a drink everytime I go through itThe store wifi also doesnt really work and I dont get a signal in the building either, so I cant check their website while inside or show an employee exactly what item Im looking for.

I love this place and it has tons of pc parts. You can spend hours here just looking at all the stuff they have if youre a pc person like me. Everyone seems nice. Even though its a bit closer then the one in Westmount, its a pain to get to from Wisconsin with all that traffic.

I recently went only knowing the very basics of what I was looking for. Michael S was a huge help with getting a pre-built that suited exactly what I needed and something that fit into my budget! One of the cooling fans on my laptop died and I needed a fix, so I looked up factory service centers for my brand and found Micro Center was one of them, and the closest place to me. I knew it was the fan because it literally imploded and by removing the keyboard, I could see all the blades had sheered off. I scheduled a time to bring it in and then waited for my appointment day to show.I arrived early for my appointment and explained the situation to the guy at the counter. He told me it would 4-5 weeks before they could run their diagnostics and then 1-2 weeks to get parts and repair. I asked if he would tell me when the diagnostics would be available and I would just bring the laptop in then as I needed it. I was told I would have to check it in (aka leave it with them) before I could enter the queue. I explained to him that it would literally take 10 minutes for someone to verify the issue and was told the manufacturer would not accept any warranty claims without this full battery of tests. Not being able to leave my laptop for a month, I left.I contacted another factory authorized service center, Smart Technology Services on Washington, who was able to get my part ordered and laptop repaired in less than a week, with only one visit that was less than an hour required.I do not recommend having Micro Center doing any work on your computer if you need it any time fast. If you have a month or two to wait, Im sure its great. But to set an appointment and then be required to wait another month before your computer can be even looked at, is ridiculous.

Pretty cool store. They have everything to help get you started on PC gaming. The sales person who helped me was Paul and he was patient and knowledgeable. He took his time to explain the differences between PCs and monitors and what exactly I’ll need for the type of gaming I’ll be doing. Originally I was looking online but seeing as the prices are relatively the same I’d rather get the in person support and keep on coming here

Just after Micro Center opened in the mid 90s, I purchased a store-branded desktop there for a steal. A few days later, the same system went on sale for about $150 cheaper. I went to the service desk with my receipt, showed it to the rep, and she proceeded to refund the difference just like that! Ive been a customer ever since. Its my first choice for systems, components, peripherals, and supplies, usually beating the prices of online discounters.Their selection is astounding. Whether youre putting together a custom gaming machine or a turnkey small business system, they have everything. They have a dedicated Apple department, a hobbyist electronics department with 3D printers, filaments, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other maker supplies and tools.Im not generally a shopper -- I know what I need; get it, and get out. But at Micro Center, I have found so many unadvertised specials that I always make sure I walk through the whole store.Their staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful. I do my own tech work, but Ive heard their service department is excellent.

Everything is very well labeled and organized-- easy to find. and the staff are darling. love that they do their best to make graphics cards accessible to people who are just trying to upgrade their computers rn.

I took my laptop in to Microcenter within an hour after a liquid spill. The techs dismissed me, refused to do anything past open up the back of my computer, and told me I would just have to replace the whole thing. I took it for a second opinion somewhere else, and they had it fixed in a day. If Micro Center hadnt wasted my time, the damage done might not have been as bad and I might not be out $325. Never trust them with your repairs.

Reserved parts online for a computer and got an email that it was partially ready an item that was said to be in stock wasnt able to be found. Typically this wouldnt be a problem as it was just some RAM. Being microcenter I thought it would be easy to get a different model. After asking an associate who was at the RAM case with key in hand to open the case he spent three minutes belittling me about needing to stand in line and be patient instead of taking the 15 seconds to hand me the item. Cancelled my order on the spot and will go to Amazon for my purchases from now on.

I purchased a GoXLR-Mini at $275.61 this morning and after a long day of being out returned home only to open my purchase to a scratched product. This was obvious used and the film protector was already peeled off. Living all the way in Bridgeport I decided to settle with it because I dont feel like driving back. This store is the best.Edit: on 02 October 2021, my 850 watt PSU couldnt cut it for a new build(got ahold of a 3080 TI ). I needed 1000 watt psu. Dropped my computer off at 5pm. Ordered payed for the PSU and PSU replacement the night before. They got it done by 8:47pm that day. Grabbed it at 9pm. This place is the best. Quick Service and when I opened the back they had excellent cable management. For 65$ to re-PSU a computer is a great deal.

Place has good prices and deals they dont work well with customers of a certain religion or color. I have experienced it myself. It might not be the companies fault but the employees they gave me a different information than the one they gave my friend on online chat. These are not opinions but facts.

I bought a refurbished macbook pro 16 & a Dell monitor. After about 25 days, they lowered the price on macs & difference was almost 500$. Luckily they gave me a price difference, cause they have a price protection up to a month. So if you bought sth & prices drop within a month, u can go back & they give u the difference

My computer needed a new power supply. The computer was repaired in a day. Staff could not have been more courteous.

I was asked by Apple to bring my device to microcenter, to get replace. Waste of time , was told by a rep. that serial number did not match up with my Apple care plan . Of course left upset , contact Apple customer service , they took care of my problem . The only reason I choose to go to store , I thought it would be a faster process. Now I just have to wait to receive them by mail. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Would not choose this store for any of my future repairs .

I have never written a google review before but I just had to this time.Came in this morning looking to buy a pc and periphreals. I was helped by one of the friendliest employees I’ve encountered with picking out the items and getting them to the register. It was then that I discovered that apparently almost the entire staff of this store are really outstanding.My card kept declining and I had to make a lot of phone calls to my bank. It took me over an hour, if not two, to finally get my card unblocked and get the purchase to go through. In the three total hours I was here, none of the employees even flinched or seemed remotely bothered by the technical difficulties I was having. They were all actually insanely nice to me and smiling the whole time. Beyond that, all of them were very knowledgeable.Overall, AMAZING prices, massive selection, but what really made it for me was how unbelievably friendly and enthusiastic everyone was during the whole experience. Cant recommend it enough. I’m never going to Best Buy again.

I really have no idea how this place got such a high rating. I have had nothing but an awful experience there every time I go. It may be a good place to go if you are completely clueless, but I’d recommend going somewhere better if you want better service.

Although I liked the fact that they had someone as soon as you walked in asking if you wanted hand sanitizer. I unfortunately didnt find what I was looking for that their website said was there. Left empty handed but kind of glad because certain area looked like it needed a good clean meaning displays/printers looked really dusty.

Not sure what the stores problem is but there’s obviously an issue. There’s supposedly a “one item per customer” policy in effect for graphics cards. As I was driving up I saw a guy with two cards in his hand. I check on Facebook marketplace to find people selling the new 3060 cards in multitudes. There’s some guys with only two there’s some with 6 cards for sale. How the f$ck do they have 6 cards but there’s a only one per customer policy? Micro center is complete bull$hit.

Fire my computer needs I so by here, Ive bought computers and laptops as well as other things. That offer good prices and on this visit Ive had one person asking if I needed help. The checkout was fast and there is plenty of parking. They also have apple items as well as chrome and windows.

They definitely will have the stuff you are looking for. Be ready to wait over 45min in line to checkout. When I asked why, the manager said people are on medical leave. Acted like he can not find anyone to be a cashier.
