I took my dress to Weddings 826 for alterations (I had purchased the dress in my hometown in California) after reading good reviews online. I knew I wanted to take it to a place that specialized in wedding dresses and they delivered. Brian was the tailor who worked with me and he was very detail-oriented and made sure the dress looked perfect by my final fitting. Each time I tried it on, he immediately identified the next alterations that needed to be made. Suzie was also amazing. 2 weeks before the wedding, I set up an appointment to look at the veil selection at Weddings 826 as I was having second thoughts about the one I had previously purchased at a different store. Suzie took the time to explain different materials, cuts, lengths, edges, etc. of veils to help me make the best decision and rush ordered my veil so it would be at the store when I picked up my dress. I was so pleased with my experience with Weddings 826. Currently they are cleaning and preserving my dress as well. I would definitely recommend working with them!

Weddings 826 has been there for me throughout the entire pandemic! From buying a dress in Feb 2020 to having to cancel and reschedule with tons of other covid brides. Alterations on alterations. Moving my dress to the UK and then back for a Chicago wedding. Losing 20 pounds and needing it to be taken in with only a few days to spare. The weddings 826 team has taken all my calls, emails, and concerns and held my hand every step of the way. So thankful to the entire team for all their help and moving things around to accommodate a crazy situation. Special shout out to Brian for his alterations wizardry to bring my dress from beautiful to perfectly made for my body. I will shout from the rooftops that weddings 826 is THE PLACE to get your dress and all alterations! Thank you guys!

Suzi was absolutely amazing during my entire wedding dress shopping experience. I tried on dresses 2 weeks before the Pandemic closures, I ended up purchasing my dress virtually after only trying it on once. When the store reopened, Suzi worked so well with my busy schedule to get me in to see the dress again, and for all of my fittings. We customized my dress both with the manufacturer and with their amazing alterations department. Suzi had my back when we had to dispute the color of my dress, and she made sure I was completely satisfied. Bryan, in the alterations department, was wonderful! He even made my custom cap sleeves. I kept accidentally losing weight, so I had to come in for more fittings, but he always reassured me and adjusted my dress quickly. I have no regrets about buying my dress here and having my alterations done here. I highly recommend it!

I wish I could remember the name of my stylist, she was an absolute gem! She listened to what I was looking for and was incredibly helpful and supportive, and she even reminded me to get a picture of my group before we left! I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Also- love the shop dog!!

This is a very long overdue review, but I have to say that Weddings 826 was AMAZING! I was unsure what to expect at first, but what drew me here were the prices and high quality designer options. While I did end up finding my dress in Florida, there are still so many dresses that I tried on and loved at 826!Kristina was especially helpful in finding options based on my Pinterest page and based on whatever I came in wanting to try that day. She made me feel comfortable and was truly provided the best customer service possible with her flexibility (we overstayed our appointment), kindness, and encouragement.I would highly recommend trying on wedding dresses or accessories at 826! I will definitely be back for accessories for my wedding this upcoming December!!

I went here to try on wedding dresses after going to a store earlier that day. I was really disappointed with my visit and would have been so disheartened if this would have been my first shopping experience. The woman working with me gave me a dress that was 7 layers. I said that I liked the dress a lot but I’m getting married in July and would like something a little lighter. She said “Hun! This is the lightest dress they make. You’re not going to find anything lighter than this” and laughed. I had tried on lighter dresses (2-4 layers) at the previous store but decided not to say anything. Next she had me try on a bright white satin gown. I mentioned that I was worried I’d stain it and that it would show easily. She told me “Your dress is going to be trashed by the end of the night so it doesn’t matter the fabric.” She didn’t have me try on the dresses I picked out, chose styles that I said I didn’t want to try, and didn’t talk to me to get to know what I liked or didn’t like about the dresses.” Also, I noticed that the first layer of may of the dresses were wrinkled. I asked about it and she said it was because I was wearing spanx. I mentioned I didn’t have this problem at the previous store and thought it could be the fabric. She then said the first layer is Jersey which tends to show what’s underneath. It got to the point that my sister came back to my room and asked me if I wanted to be at the shop anymore and I said no. At the end, I did ask them to write down the price of a dress and the name of it. When the woman was told the price by the woman at the desk in the front she loudly said “that’s it?” multiple times. It was just an awful experience. I ended up getting a dress for $100 more than this place at a much better quality and experience. If you go here, I suggest you don’t make it your first stop. I didn’t feel heard, supported, or special here from the staff and no one deserves that when they are trying on wedding dresses. To all the brides out there, good luck on finding the perfect dress. You will find it and you deserve it!

I popped in yesterday after noticing this shop across the street. They werent super busy so I inquired about bridal accessories and the manager, Kristina was incredibly helpful with explaining veil lengths, widths and letting me know that they can do custom lengths for any of their veils! I didnt purchase anything yet but will be back to try on accessories with my dress. Theres also a super sweet shop puppy if you like dogs :)

I wish I could give Lauren 10 stars - I wouldn’t have found my dress without her!I tried on 50+ dresses before coming to Weddings 826; I wish I would have started there. The whole team is so nice and accommodating. The store is beautiful and the selection is incredible.Lauren really listened and understood exactly what I was looking for. She helped me stick to the simple, sleek look I imagined within budget. She made my vision come to life by pulling everything I wanted to try and then working with the designer on a custom dress. She pinned a size 14 in a dozen places so I could really visualize the final bodice in my size; she held various skirts over said bodice to show me the options; she found dresses with different backs until we decided on the right shape; she took pictures from multiple angles. She even got the designer to FaceTime on a weekend to see me in the dress and make sure we were all aligned on the customizations!Lauren was truly so patient with me and fun to work with the whole time. If you can’t find the one, you just haven’t met Lauren yet!

If I could, I would give 6 stars to Weddings 826. I cannot say enough good things about my experience dress shopping there, mostly thanks to Kristina and how attentive, caring, and attuned she was to my mom and I during our wedding dress weekend extravaganza! The service we received was amazing, and they went above and beyond to try to help me find the perfect dress. I am sad to say I ultimately found the dress at another location, but everything about our experience at 826 was perfect. They have an extensive selection of beautiful dresses and at reasonable price points in a very fun and laid-back atmosphere, but the customer service is really what sets 826 heads above the rest. Kristina, if you read this, thank you so much for making me feel so special and cared for!

Best decision I ever made to come here and keep searching for the dress. Suzi was amazing and she helped me find the dress I didnt know I was dreaming of. Thank God for this place. Everyone is amazing and sweet. I even missed a fitting and everyone was so gracious about it. So glad I came here. Would 100% recommend.

I only purchased accessories here but had a fabulous time doing so! I brought my dress and one friend with me and Jordan helped me. She was so nice and accommodating. We were offered champagne when we arrived and I gave Jordan an idea of what I was looking for. She brought me some great options for jewelry and I ended up selecting some beautiful rose gold drop earrings and a silver and rose gold necklace. Would highly recommend Weddings 826 for all your dress and accessory needs!

I came here for an accessories only appointment as I had already purchased my dress at a different store (I had not shopped at Weddings 826 prior to this - if I had known earlier maybe I would have stopped by for their dresses too!). I had a wonderful stylist who spent way more time with me than what was allotted. She paid attention to my preferences and budget. I ended up purchasing my veil and jewelry the same day at reasonable prices. I loved my experience at Weddings 826!

I could not be happier with my experience working with Weddings 826. I went for my first ever appointment, found a dress that I liked, but they did not push me whatsoever to purchase then and there. I went to a few other stores, but stayed in contact with the store. They got a new dress in store that they thought would be perfect, and it truly was.In addition, when my tailor was deciding on the best way to bustle the dress, they sent a video of their recommendation and made themselves available at any time for questions.

Sarah was wonderful! Weddings 826 was the first place I went to try on gowns and I could not have asked for a better experience. We were the only ones in the shop trying on so it was very low key. Sarah had excellent recommendations of what to try on based on the few that we selected. She helped me expertly into each one and knew others that I might like based on what I did and didnt like about the ones I had on.I liked Weddings 826 because they had gowns in my budget ($1000-$1750).Sarah was very patient and willing to help. She also had excellent suggestions for veils, accessories, and alterations. She knows her stuff! Although I did not buy a gown here, I had a lovely experience.I would highly recommend Weddings 826 to any bride looking for a moderately priced gown selection! I would certainly work with Sarah again,.

I had visited multiple stores before Weddings 826, which was my final stop. I had dresses I liked, but never had the this is the one! moment. I had an idea in my head, but couldnt seem to find a dress i loved. I told them about my wedding, and what kind of style it was, and the woman helping me grabbed a few dresses I had described, and some that I hadnt even thought of. I ended up trying on one that I hadnt even considered as a style I might wear, and knew immediately it was the one! I am so grateful they read into my style and wedding and found my perfect dress. And it was much cheaper than i anticipated!

I didnt have the same experience as many others at Weddings 826 for my bridal appointment, so I thought Id share. The week of my appointment, I called to confirm that we would be there. The next day, I received a call and text from Weddings 826 asking to confirm my appointment... which I did again.When we showed up, the studio seemed a bit chaotic. A lot of people scurrying around. The studio stores dresses in the changing room, so whenever the door to my room was open stylists were coming in to pull dresses for their clients. My stylist was pulled away by another stylist almost each time we left the room, which was distracting and took away from our appointment. Also, my pedestal was taken away by staff in the middle of my appointment so they could take photos for Instagram.We found a dress there that I really liked, but I didn’t realize until later that it was $300 over my budget. My stylist didn’t tell me that, and I was very clear about my budget walking in.At the end of the day, I’m glad I visited Weddings 826, but would not recommend it based on my experience.

My second appointment of my big dress shopping day with my mom brought us to Weddings 826, and it did not disappoint! The shop is adorable, cozy, and the staff is very welcoming. My bridal assistant, Kayla, was so sweet and asked lots of great questions to figure out what I was looking for. She quickly knew my style and brought some gorgeous dresses (she seemed to have a great memory for their inventory too!). Their appointment slots are one hour, which is a tad short for someone whos just starting to dress shop. That being said, Kayla was kind enough to let me go over the hour so that I could re-try my two favorite dresses to snag pics and compare. Although I ended up finding the dress at a different store later that day, I cannot recommend Weddings 826 and their lovely staff enough!

At the end of the day I loved my dress and the process of picking it. However I did have issues with the service for the alterations. When I was there to pick the dress they let me take my time and really talked through everything with me. Once I moved into the alterations phase they were always rushing me through appointments - it seemed clear that they work for commission and prioritized the sales appointments versus the tailoring. I ended up having to come back 4 times because I kept finding new issues that we didn’t notice because they rushed through appointments. For example - I paid $250 to get the train removed before the dress was actually delivered to me. The seamstress never read that in my “file” and kept telling me I needed a bustle. I kept saying I didn’t want one and it wasn’t until the 3rd appointment that she realized I had already paid to get the train taken off. Also - at the last appointment I put the dress on and the staff looked for about 3 seconds, said it fit perfectly and rushed me out. I knew I didn’t feel right in the dress so I asked another staff member if I could go back into a dressing room and try the dress on again — when I did we noted the back was too long, the right side was not even with the left in a part that was altered around my shoulders and when the seamstress had changed the length of the shoulder straps - she had not blended them, so the back part of the strap was way wider than the front. Had I not insisted on trying the dress on again all of those things would have been there for the day of. I was not able to try on the final product before the day of and had to just trust everything would fit right. It did in the end - but definitely didn’t help with the anxiety in the last week. Alterations also cost $300 more than they told me they would, ended up being about 50% of the cost of the dress. The pricing for alterations was also super confusing/not transparent - they had a pricing list posted in one of the dressing rooms and when it didn’t match up with my invoice I asked why it was different - they said it was because of the material of the dress, which was not specified on the pricing list they had posted. In numerous appointments I heard staff asking each other what certain alterations should cost - it seemed like they just make it up as they go. Again - I loved my dress at the end of the day, but they definitely need to improve the alterations process. If you go here make sure to be very assertive throughout the alterations appointments and insist they take their time to make sure they catch everything.

Bought my wedding dress here as a sample, and received amazing service. I showed Jordan 1 picture of my dream dress. From that she pulled 6 dresses and asked me which I wanted to try on. I picked 3, and found the one. That you for a great experience!

This place was awesome. The quality was really good on each dress and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I also really enjoyed the gal who helped me. I cant remember her name but she has three little boys. They were very patient and let me try on everything I wanted. I will definitely recommend them to future brides.

Most of the dresses are kept in the back so you are at the mercy of the stylist. Unfortunately, my stylist did not have the same taste and did not pick dresses that matched what I had described(brought mermaid when asked for A-line). The dresses that are out front are stacked on top of each other and hard to look through. I did find one dress that I loved but the stylist rushed us out before I could decide if it was the one. Overall, I was not impressed with my experience and would not recommend this shop.

After visiting 12 stores all throughout the Chicago and suburbs and trying on close to 150 dresses, I found THE dress at Weddings 826. I had THE BEST experience here!! Coming into Weddings 826 was my first time ever trying on any wedding dress, ever, so it was a pretty nerve-wracking feeling once I was actually in the fitting room with the gowns.Sara was my helper/sales associate...Im not sure what the best or correct title is for her, but lets just call her an all-around sweetheart and Superhero! Sara was totally re-assuring throughout that first gown try-on and made me feel totally comfortable in what was, at first, an uncomfortable feeling -- Id never seen myself in a wedding gown before so it was very startling when I first looked in the mirror! However, after the second dress and then the third, fourth, and finally the fifth, I felt like a pro and was totally relaxed!Anyway, back to the business. This place is just totally adorable! Its situated in an old home with lots of charm! Wood floors, original wood porch and super cute vintage-themed interior. My bridesmaids and mom really loved the experience here. We all got champagne (helped me with those nerves), and my party got the cutest room to hang out in while I got in and out of the gowns.Sara was totally non-pressuring, but also so very helpful when it came to questions about material, color, veil styles, jewelry, you name it! Their gown selection was also right up my alley! I honestly wasnt sure what to expect with their gowns, especially since I had what I think is a very specific type of dress that I wanted. I showed Sara a few pictures on my phone and she nodded her head right away, went off to the back, and pulled up 4 or 5 of the most perfect dresses, all in my style! Romantic, lots of tulle, not-too-princess-y....It was all perfect.Anyway, just want to give a huge thanks to Sara and everyone else at Weddings 826 for making my gown try-on truly memorable!

I purchased my dress from a different store but Weddings 826 completed the alterations. I could not be happier with their work! First off, the store is gorgeous and the staff is extremely professional. I felt the the pricing and timing for the alterations were a great value and I did not feel rushed. They definitely ensure you are happy with the final result. When you pick up your dress the day before (or of) the wedding, they clean and prep your dress beautifully and even give you a checklist to keep it pristine. I definitely recommend Weddings 826 for any bride looking for a dress or alterations. (Married Oct 2016)

Lovely store nice and helpful team at the store. They really listened to what I said and helped me find the right dress.

We made an appointment back in November. Received an text confirmation the day before and day of the appointment and confirmed. We also verbally confirmed with Charlotte. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our appointment and were turned away saying they did not have our reservation. We showed the text and were told “unfortunately there’s nothing we can do.” Unsure as to why we were turned away and not the other 2PM appointment since we were early. Would NOT recommend, so many other great bridal stores in Chicago. Such a disappointment. Get a better system and better service.

Of all the vendors we worked with for our wedding, I can honestly say that Weddings 826 was my favorite! After an unsuccessful/disappointing weekend of trying to recreate Say Yes To The Dress with my mom & future mother-in-law in town, I popped into this cute little boutique by myself on a weekday afternoon (with no appointment) as a dejected bride-to-be. By that point I had been to at least 8 other stores and tried on upwards of 30 dresses. I knew the look i wanted but just wasnt finding it. The owner, Suzi, very sweetly greeted me when I walked in and offered to help me poke around their closets to see if I saw anything I liked. I did indeed find something that was *CLOSE* ... it was just missing some sparkle. Suzi assured me that their resident tailor, Deb, could add some custom beadwork that would get the dress the rest of the way to what I wanted. The design process with Deb was always fun and very collaborative. Never once did she make me feel like a bridezilla, no matter how much bling I asked her to add, changes I requested, or even when I changed my mind on a few things and then asked her to undo her hard work a week before the wedding. I made multiple visits to Weddings 826 over the course of many months and each time they greeted me with a smile and a friendly offer for a glass of champagne :) Im beyond thrilled with how my dress turned out, and the the dress / customization / alterations were all very reasonably priced. To Suzi, Deb, and the rest of the staff - THANK YOU for making my wedding dress dreams come true!! Ill be back to visit xoxoxo
