Old school barber shop that will take care of you right. When you go for your first haircut, you get your own razor that will only be used by you and you alone. Its a cash only establishment, but its definitely worth it. Aaron is the man.

Been going to this barber shop ever ~6ish weeks since early 2018. Great atmosphere, superb customer service, and top-notch quality. I now live out of state (in another top-10 metro area) and still get my hair cut here rather than having to find a new barber and barbershop.Phils my primary guy, but have also used David and Aaron when hes out or on vacation. Cant go wrong with any of the team, though. Keep chugging along guys!

Tony has an attitude problem. He tells me that my hair is ok after I requested he fix my sideburns because they werent even. Charged me $35. Maybe the prices went up.

This place is one of the best barbershops I have been to. It helps that the owner is Sicilian — considering I am originally from Italia — and their haircut quality is superb. I have been going here for nearly four years. I usually let David cut my hair, but from what I have seen, everyone there is qualified. Pricing is very reasonable as well, and you better be a soccer fan when you go in! Highly recommended if you are in the Loop area.

I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend try to trim my hair the night before I had to give a presentation at 8:30 the next morning. Well, she accidentally took a big hunk out of the side and it looked horrible. I looked around and found this place because, as far as I can tell, its the earliest open barber shop (7 AM) in the Loop, if not the whole city. I got there right at open and Philip was able to fit me in. And its actually one of the best haircuts Ive ever had! It was fast and cheap and every customer has their own razor for neck trims. I ended up here out of desperation but will now be a regular.

Almost perfect - 1st time, best haircut ever, 2nd time, not so good. Why 4 stars? Because price, quality, availability, customer service. Despite my poor experience 2nd time, I know they give excellent hair cuts 99% of the time.I can call them on short notice 30 min before closing and theyll take me in. I can walk in 15 min before closing and they will gladly take a cut even after closing.They are truly one of the few old school barbershops who care about the personal relationship; will save a blade with your name on it; will have great conversations and treat you like royalty. I hope they will be here to stay for generations to come - Phil and the rest of the crew.

I made the terrible mistake of walking in here. 20 mins before closing. A sweet Sicilian barber. I wanted a tiny trim of hair and beard. He lopped of a whole loaf before I stopped him. I now have a wonky head. He trimmed beard and got razor out. Sweet Sicilian man managed to cut me quite badly right on my Adam’s Apple..not fun, but good. Really not worth it. I won’t walk in to such a place ever again .Oh, and the pleasure of this rubbish was $37Never againDon’t you do it either

Ive been travelling for the last 3 weeks and my hair was getting a bit messy.I arrived as a walk-in this morning and was lucky to have a spot ooen with Aaron. Ive never received such a detailed and carefully thought haircut and facial hair trim. I felt at home in the barbershop as everyone was extremely friendly (staff and customers).I would definitely go back if I was a local. Definitely recommended.

I live in the suburbs, and go to places like Sports Clips and what not. Getting a haircut in the city was never on my radar. But, today I needed one bad, didnt want to pay an arm and a leg, and needed to get back to work quickly. This is hands down the best haircut I have ever gotten. I am used to getting decent haircuts, and have gotten really good haircuts before things like weddings, but this is by far the best I have ever gotten. He was quick, extremely friendly (but not over-talkative), and the price was right. For $27, I got an amazing haircut and a hot lather straight blade shave on my neck and around my ears. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. I will be getting my haircut with Phil from here on out. Awesome.

This is an excellent barber shop: reasonably priced, good atmosphere, and excellent haircuts. They have several barbers/chairs and accept walk-ins (and are very friendly to walk-ins) so I did not have to wait at all during my lunch break. I had my hair cut by Aaron, who did a fantastic job. We talked about what I wanted, he did an excellent job delivering on what we talked about, did some touching up/adjustments for me, and kept me on-time for a meeting right after lunch. I could not have asked for more, and I will definitely be going back for my next haircut.

Ive been periodically going here since November 2018, however as of late the quality has definitely gone down.Last time I went in for a beard trim, asked the barber to keep as much length as possible, but even things up. Within a few days after this, my beard didnt look like it had even been cut (messy, not trimmed).The quality issues seem to be more because of newer hires to the shop, so perhaps in time theyll improve.

Go here if you want to have nice hair, but dont want to smell like a pinecone.

I had my first haircut here yesterday because I saw the other reviews for it. It definitely lived up to the reviews. I had David and he was a great barber. He knew how to tweak my regular haircut style so that it was shaped better for my head and hair color. I will definitely only come here for my haircuts from now on.

Very kind owner: Couple years ago I had a haircut there just before closing time and i didnt have enough cash on me so owner said I can pay anytime. Then my job changed to suburb but now Im back working in downtown again. One day i walked in the shop and wanted to pay my debt, but owner is so kind and said he doesnt remember i own him any money. A dying breed, Philips place cuts hair like in the the Old World. No frills, but exactly the way you want it. The price is right, but call before you go. The secret is out, this guy is good. Hes been my barber for a year. Being nearly bald, its hard pleasing me. Philip is classy, not talky, and if you are sitting in his seat when a Chicago team scores, your cut is free.

Phil, Toni, David and the other guys at this shop are absolutely first rate. Although Ive been going to Phil for more than 10 years (hes the best!), Ive come to learn that you cant go wrong no matter who you get. This is a professional, old fashioned barber shop where you get a great haircut, complete with a clean-up shave using your own, personalized straight-edged razor. Call and make an appointment for your favorite guy, or walk-in and take a seat with the first available barber.

I couldnt agree more with all these reviews. I had been going to Franco for the past 7 years. He does an excellent and very thorough job, and is also a pleasure to talk to (he even threw in my wedding haircut for free). One time, when Franco was on vacation, I asked Phil to cut my hair, and he did a phenomenal job as well. Both gentlemen are great at what they do, and will give you a great haircut. I no longer go here as our company has moved offices, and getting there isnt very easy. However, after searching and searching, and finding nothing comparable, I may just have to make the trek back.

The shop has been in the same location for over 40 years, since the owner Phil immigrated from Italy. Mens hair cuts cost about 32 dollars with tip. Every customer receives their own personalized razor, giving this place a more personalized feel.

I am not one to complain about the price of things; however, this place is a rip off. Im balding so pretty much do a buzz cut all over. The cost of a buzz cut is $27 here, which is already on the high end. But wait...you want your beard trimmed? That will be 5 dollars more...which they dont tell you until you are ready to pay. Dont have cash on you?? Go next door and pay 4 dollars for the ATM. Tally it all together and with tip, I just paid 40 dollars for a buzz cut. Top it off, place is outdated and dumpy. (not in a kitsch way).

These guys are awesome. I live up north in the burbs (Highwood), and the barber I was using up there closed down. I work at 155 N. Wacker, and picked these guys from a Google search and comparing Yelp reviews. I have since gone to them four times and will be using this location for haircuts as long as I work close enough to walk over. Quick, no-nonsense service & reasonable prices.

Traveling from Sydney to Chicago I wanted the original barber experience. The 3 barbers were friendly with a good atmosphere. A barber of 40 years experience really shows in this place.

Ive been to this barber shop twice. The first time, I was almost turned away on the phone because its a barber shop and Im a woman (I wear my hair short), but the appointment went well and I was satisfied with my haircut.This second time, however, was two years later, and it went less than satisfactorily. While the appointment itself went fine, I realized after that the barber accidentally cut a chunk out of my hair with the clippers, leaving me with a small bald spot where you can literally see my scalp... I also realized that during the appointment, he realized this, which explains why he wouldnt let me hold the mirror to look at the back myself. His coworkers even made fun of him for not letting me hold the mirror, as they were unaware of the bald spot he created. Everyone was really nice, but Im afraid I cant go back after this experience because I feel deceived.
