Really nice shop. Was visiting Chicago and wanted to pamper my baby brother for his birthday. I saw this barber shop and decided to stop in. We didn’t have to wait long. Was very pleased with the haircut and shave he received. The barber was professional. We’d become regular customers at this shop if we lived in Chicago.

The owner/operator is so knowledgeable, spiritual and down to earth you cant help but look forward to another visit. He asked what I wanted, I explained and the rest is history. Ya know when after the cut and the stylist passes you the mirror and awaits for your approval, I must say that its been a long time where I didnt have to ask for any adjustments! Everything was perfect on the first cut. Being it was my first time there, I was truly Blessed with a bona fide stylist 👍 I highly recommend Mr Brandy to anyone seeking EXCELLENCE...

Moved here after college and came to Clippers from a referral from a good friend. From my experience each barber is very approachable and treat their clients with top quality and class. My barber is Ojo and he seems to be very passionate about wanting to know what you want and making it happen. Hes very transparent about his schedule for the week and fulfills appointments on time.I dont think you can go wrong with any of the barbers there. Overall great company and great services.

This is the first time I haven’t tipped a barber since I was a broke undergraduate student. I’m usually very good about tipping at least twenty-five percent. The barber Byrd is both a poor listener and subpar barber. I was introduced to Clippers Barbershop by an acquaintance months ago, September of 2017. I went in and got cut by Brandon. It was an above average cut, but not exceptional. At the time I had a curly top, so I really only needed a lining and the sides faded. I went back today because I decided to cut my curly high top hair. I’m usually weary of the barber that asks if you need a cut first. However, I got there around 5:45pm knowing they close at 7:00pm. No big deal I thought. I explained to him what I wanted. I asked for a bald-fade and not to take too much off the top. I admit I may have been a bit vague with the length I wanted. I said a bit more before wave length, still dark. He said, “I got you.” He started and immediately I was skeptical. He immediately took way too much off the top. It was too late to say anything as he had shaved off most of my hair. No big deal I thought. A bald fade usually has that midpoint line at the ears and the bottom is shaved and varying guards and clippers create the gradient effect. I believe he was attempting a “mid-fade” as his line only came up a bit on my neck. I stopped him halfway through and said, “I wanted my fade higher up.” He said, “okay,” and made his cut line a little higher up. At no point did he fade the areas above my ears. So, as he’s grabbing the straight-razor, which I assumed meant he was about to do my line and wrap up the hair cut, I interject and pull up a couple selfies of my hair actually in a bald-fade. He said, “oh you talking about a bald fade.” I told him that’s what I initially asked for. He seemed to ignore me. He begins to crudely shave the sides down and somewhat achieves what I wanted. This is one of the most mediocre fades I have gotten in my young adult life. I honestly feel like his clippers weren’t sharp enough. When a line and shaving is being done, it shouldn’t necessarily hurt but it shouldn’t feel blunt. I couldn’t tell the difference between his liners and his regular clippers.I understand Black barbershops are supposed to be loud, it’s apart of the culture but it was excessive and the jokes and conversation was needlessly drawn out. I left the shop with a massive headache partly from the noise and also from the basic fade I received. I’m just thankful Byrd didn’t push my hairline back. I’m sure the barbers are friendly, good people and I️ understand barbers have off days. However, I stopped the barber twice and still didn’t get close to what I wanted. I paid him because I didn’t want to cause a scene by protesting but I️ will never return to Clippers. I honestly feel bad writing because of how I feel about barbershops and Black business but it has to be said.

I came here about 2 weeks ago with my son. We are new to the area and decided to try a place around us. I called ahead to see if it was necessary for me to book an appointment and was told there were plenty of barbers and i could walk-in. I must have came at prine time because we ended up waiting 1.5hrs to wait for 1 out of 4 barbers to become free. We got a guy called Bolo.He didnt listen when i said shape his fro, a linen and taper him on the sides and higher up in the back. His focus was more on changing the tv and phone calls. When i told him what he was doing was incorrect he proceeded to argue with me that i didnt know the right terminology and he did what I wanted and I shouldnt be so ignorant. After asking him to fix an area he proceeded to still argue with me. I decided to take my 5 yo son out of his chair and was told to never come back.I had no choice to take my son to his original barber (in Rogers Park) to fix what Mr. BOLO couldnt do. After talking with his orginal barber to make sure I wasnt using the wrong terminology, i learned what I said I wanted was correct and that Bolo just didnt care. In no way shape or form did I expect that me not liking a haircut would cause me to be insulted and argued with about my preferences. I would never go back to this establishment because of the obvious experience i had with a lack of professionalism, a person who refuses to accept critique, and someone who has a disregard for pleasing customers.
