It was nice place food was all right nothing Is spectacular.

My now-wife and I got engaged in late 2019 and started planning our large 130+ guest wedding shortly thereafter. We looked at a few venues in Chicago, and got the best vibe from the owner John, and the venue itself. His prices were also more competitive that other venues of equivalent quality.We loved that we had the optionality to host our ceremony in one of the upstairs halls, and then take our guests down into the beautiful cellar for our reception.John was super communicative and flexible and easy to work with right from the start, and his teams motto is to take as much stress away from the bride and groom during the wedding planning process.We initially planned to have our wedding in June 2020, but then delayed to late August due to COVID, and eventually July 2021, and for each delay, John did not charge us any extra fees and was accommodating to the sitatuation.Heading into 2021, the prices at the venue increased for the various offerings, typical of most companies coming out of the pandemic, but John honored our originally agreed upon prices in our contract we signed back in 2019, and we were very grateful for that!As the wedding approached, John was available via phone and email at a moments notice, and he allowed us to host our ceremony rehearsal the night before at no extra charge too.The venue also accommodated us with special requests, like having easels available to hold up portraits we wanted to display, and having a projector to use during the best man speech.The bartenders, Joe and Phyllis, a married couple of 55 years, were absolutely wonderful and our guests loved them.The wait staff were also courteous and efficient throughout the night.My wife and I were so stressed that we could barely eat any of the dinner we picked out during our wedding night, but fortunately, the wait staff gave the extra food from the kitchen to my parents at the end of the night, and we were able to enjoy that food over the next week, and it was absolutely delicious all the way around!There were also vegetarian entree options that were individually served to each of our guests who requested that.We had so much fun we extended an extra hour on top of what we booked for the day.Our wedding couldnt have gone any better and were super thankful for John and his team for hosting us!

The Gentleman who runs the place is so helpful, so accommodating.The upstairs banquet hall is nice.Im a bit claustrophobic so I not a fan of the lower level banquet hall.I would recommend this Banquet hall

I am getting married in November and have been to mayors mansion on multiple locations to plan things for the wedding. John is very professional and friendly and has always been great about accommodating my fiance and I. He has taken the stress out of the reception planning and I am confident that our reception will be perfect. I am so glad we chose to go to this venue. I checked out many places and this place was by far the most reasonable and the most accommodating. I plan to book any big party I have here from now on. I absolutely love the facility. Its clean, well maintained, a great location, and run by a fabulous owner. I couldnt be more happy with the service we have received here. I would recommend mayors mansion to anyone!!!

We ordered food for the Polish St. Joseph day party at the Garfield Ridge senior center. It was a simple menu with polish sausage, sour kraut, etc. and kolaches for dessert. The food was delicious. Dessert, well no disrespect to local bakers, but these were the best.

Had Christening party for my granddaughter last weekend. All the guests were raving about how good the food tasted. The service was excellent too.Everyone was having a great time. We ordered a sweet table from there also, all the pastry and fruit were delicious. Thank you! Def will use this facility for future events.

I havent had my event yet--- However, I just would like to say: John has made my wedding planning experience easy. He was straight and to the point and I must say, I appreciate the honesty. He was extremely professional. I appreciate the fact that he was up front and honest. Before contacting European Chalet, many other banquet halls fiddle faddled when it came to talking about price....John was straight and to the point and I truly appreciate that.Everything was laid out professionally and my contract was easy to read.This is a place of business and what people dont understand is that when it comes to businesses such as this: time is money:My wedding is in April and I was able to book my venue without any problems. I cant wait til my wedding day. Thanks John.

We had our wedding reception on June 17 in the wine cellar. The hall was beautiful and looked great with our colors and theme. The food was delicious we received many compliments from our guests. John was very helpful and agreeable to all of our requests. The Mayors Mansion is budget friendly and we had the wedding of our dreams.Kim & Mike

The food was horrible they served fried chicken and it tasted like ovenbaked.The I e tea was water down uuh. The roast beef and Italian sauce were under cooked thats not right. It is was a very nice clean,room. But the parking lot is very small. There was 2 parties going on Friday night. We had to park outside on the street again because there was no parking.

Attended our annual Christmas Party. Nice party rooms and excellent wait staffHowever the food was not that great.

The food was good and the staff was very nice. They greeted us at the door when we arrived. All staff was very attentive the whole time we were there. The hall was clean and the bathrooms were also.

We had our wedding reception here October 22, 2016. And can I say it was great. John was excellent from start to finish. From the food to the staff, everything was great! I highly recommend anyone looking to host an event, to book this venue.

Food was mediocre. Ice cream was served but only one round after that they stopped. Alcohol was overpriced $5 for small portions.

Went here for wedding. The place was really nice. The food was actually pretty good and there was a open bar. The servers were friendly and helped anyway they could.

The food was aweful. Great service from the serving employees. The taste of the chicken, beef and soup were aweful. The entire table of folks felt the same and we dont know them. The ice cream had no flavor, how does anyone mess that up ! Its vanilla ice cream!, how?. The employees that served us, were very attentive. No issues with them at all!Get better tasting foods.

I dont even know where to start! Made a phone call and spoke with John on Monday to meet with him on the upcoming Saturday to discuss booking my wedding in October. I gave John the number of people and the room (Wine Cellar) that I was particularly interested in. He stated we can go over everything when we meet on Saturday. My fiance and I arrived on time at 9:00 am on Saturday. We were kept waiting for John for about 15 minutes in one of the banquet rooms. The floors were very sticky and tacky, but there was construction going on so we overlooked that for the time being. and When John finally arrived, we were greeted with the bums rush with John telling us that he had a funeral luncheon later in the day, and wants to know our details quickly as he wants to keep things moving along! Really?? Already I am getting pissed as I felt like I was greeted by some smarmy salesman. He turns to go to an office and asks for the date (I already gave him this info earlier in the week),.So I give him the date and he said he was booked! Ok then,..I proceeded to tell him so he could clearly hear me.....THEN WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME WHEN I CALLED!! Totally wasted our time! What a complete jerk and unprofessional moron! Glad I found this out now, then later. So much for wanting to give my business to an establishment in the neighborhood. Wow,..I am just blown away by the lack of professionalism this guy had. Now, I dont believe the great reviews I read about this place at all!! This type of person does not deserve to have anyones special day at this facility. He obviously couldnt care less. Jerk.

We had our wedding here on September 23 of 2016. John made the whole proccess really easy for my wife and I. He was really flexible with everything, and he honestly gave us a worry-free and stress-free hall at a very reasonable price. I dont believe there is a better place out there. He is upfront and will tell you things like they are from the beginning. All the staff is friendly and helpful, I will definitely recommend to my family members and friends.

Nice hall. Went there for an event and it was very beautifully decorated. Staff was friendly. The bartender was helpful and overall helped with setting a good and fun mood.

The hall is good size but the food was bland. They serve a broccoli soup that was just so water down. The salad was old, mashed potato was dry the chicken taste like shake and bake. It was a bad experience

Are unique layout but the food was very good the service excellent beverages fantastic and the collage keys are made fresh every single day totally delicious kolaches

I dont even know where to begin.....Sat Sept 23rd , we had out moms 60th Birthday surprise party at you place, and are blown away. Room was absolutely beautiful, granted that day temperature reached 90 , it very comfortable. From time were greeted at the door, the experience was outstanding. When booking the party with John, he suggested certain dishes to be served, took his advise, and food was amazing. We got compliments from our gests. Very friendly staff, and wonderful bartender. Had my wedding here last weekend and it was amazing from the decor to the food to even the wedding cake (which by the way some people thought was fake because it looked sooo amazing). John is a delight and very professional.

The mayors mansion thats a nice small facility for small events on Chicago Southwest side. Several rooms to choose from to meet the budget of anyone.
