My car is now making a weird noise when reversing after visiting them for a simple oil change. My engine is also making a weird noise when I accelerate. None of this occurred before my visit with them

Delgado’s Auto Service has always done a great job on my car Sarah, they are very nice there. I feel like they are reasonably price, Delgado’s is honest and reliable especially with women.

I got my catalytic converter stolen and I needed someone to quickly fix my vehicle so I can get back to working and life. They fit in me in on a busy Saturday and and give me a great deal since I was down on my luck. They were kind and gave me great service as a last min repair.

Dec 2020 I first went to Delgado for a check engine light , they took care of the light and they took my vehicle to the emission testing center for me. They even gave me a list of recommended service items . I came back a couple months later after noticing I was losing engine oil , a couple recommendations were to replace valve cover gasket set and engine oil pressure switch . 2 months and $1,500 later I noticed I was still losing engine oil so I called Delgado to set an appointment concerned about maybe blowing my engine .I was told to bring my vehicle in the next day. But once I arrived I was told it would be $90 for the inspection and if they find the problem related to warranty work the $90 fee would be dropped . Not comfortable going back and being charged to look at vehicle they recommended work for oil lost to start off with. Those who stand behind there work would had invited paying customers back to inspect vehicle just to make sure there work was still standing tall, those who are looking for a quick buck will try to charge you for just pulling into the parking lot. Very unhappy with the service I paid for at Delgado Auto Service on Western Ave .........................

They are honest, straight forward and dependable. I’ve been in the city for 14 years and started using Delgados around 2015. I bring in my 2002 Jeep and my friends 2018 Focus and they are great with the new and the old. For the first few times I would drive around and get estimates everywhere, but those days are long gone. If you want a quality job done for an honest price, look no further.

Full disclosure - I was asked to do this review, but was not compensated and asked 3 days after the work was done. Delgados is fairly priced, honest, and speedy.They dont take appointments, but do a first-come first-served basis so plan on getting your car there early after 8 AM if you want it same day.I went there with my 08 Altima because I had some brakes done elsewhere in 6 months ago, and they were squealing very badly. I got a quote 2 hours later where he was honest - there was no safety issue and I could keep driving safely if I wanted to deal with the noise. If I didnt, Id need pads and rotors for $300. I approved the repairs. He also noticed my oil change sticker indicated I needed a change , but I actually had one done two weeks ago. He didnt pressure me to do one, but I asked him to check the oil just in case.4 hours later I get a text with pics of the new rotors, the clean oil and filter, and said it was ready for pickup. Ive never had better communication and the job was well done.

I have a Toyota Camry that sounded like a Harley revved up. Not a normal sound for a car. I had been informed that the exhaust flex pipe probably needed replacing yet I kept putting it off. Of course, problems eventually catch up with you left untended AND me and my car were no exception. Early afternoon on a rainy Friday while driving I hear this horrible scraping noise so I pull over get out of the car and I look under the car. Well, I now know what a flex pipe looks like especially since it and the heat shield were now dragging the ground. NOT GOOD! So a friend of mine suggested trying out Delgado’s and as I traveled down Western Avenue leaving a trail of sparks I see Delgado’s and pull in. I went inside to the front counter and spoke with the attendant, Miriam. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. She said they would look at it in an hour and let me know. 45 minutes later my car was in the air and Juan was explaining to me what was wrong. The “FLEX” pipe was separated from the manifold at the front and from muffler at the rear causing it and the heat shield to drag the ground as I drove. He said he could repair both and give him 45 minutes to an hour. A half hour later the car was repaired and it now drove great and sounded even better. One of the first things I noticed was it seemed the radio was extremely loud. Apparently I didn’t realize how loud car the was because I used the radio to drown out the noise. Delgado’s OVER DELIVERED! They did excellent work, were extremely helpful and I was shocked at how reasonable the cost was. I never rate anyone 5 STARS or write a narrative, but they deserve all 5 STARS and everyone should know the type of service, professionalism and pricing they will receive by choosing Delgado’s!

I had my car towed to Delgados when it died on 90. Had not been before, just knew it was in the neighborhood. They were super kind and thorough in checking out the issue. Would def go back and will be using them for oil changes in the future.

They are the simply best! I needed a new catalytic converter and clear my check engine light to pass state inspection. I never mentioned the state inspection but these guys went above and beyond to not only narrow down the specific repair needed (which saved me a lot of money) BUT ALSO offered to take the vehicle to pass state inspection after they had repaired it. Free of charge. All done under 24 hours from when I first walked in the door. Truly one of those experiences that you wont forget because of the professionalism, transparency, and the extra effort they offered to help their customers. I love this place, they are very helpful and kind, and do quality work fast and without over charging. They fixed my starter once and fixed the heat in my car and it’s perfect now, even cleaned the dashboard! The woman at the front was very polite even when a rude customer was talking to her in front of me. I recommend this place to people all the time :)

Delgado’s diagnosed a squeal and replaced my brakes in 2015. Everyone was friendly and professional. I was happy with the repair and price. Then, 3 years later, their mechanic welded a metal piece hanging on the cars underside for no charge…Wow! Last week my son told me I needed brakes so I took the car to Delgados. After checking it out, the mechanic called to say “You don’t need brakes, they’re fine.”...No charge” Good repairs, friendly, honest service and good-will that’s unbeatable. Delgados is a jewel in my neighborhood.

Great communication and good prices. Told me after I picked it up there is a 1 year warranty on the parts they repair but so far no issues.

They have only informed me of major problems with my vehicles and explained what might occur.

Ive had positive experiences both times Ive used Delgados Auto Service. They have taken care of my car troubles to help me pass my Illinois emissions test twice.My first car that needed help passing emissions testing was a 2002 Mazda Protege (in 2018). My second car that required help was a 2008 Mazda CX-7 (in 2021). Delgados helped me both times.The mechanics have been communicative and friendly. The two receptionists I interacted with were also kind, patient and didnt rush me through anything. Everybody answered all my questions whether in person or over the phone.Thank you everybody at Delgados!

I have an Alfa Romeo and the oil is very hard to come by. They were very nice on the phone and gave me an estimate right away. The worked on my car fast seeing I brought it in last minute . They were nicer than the people at the dealership

I desperately needed help getting a stripped lug nut off because I had a flat tire and after many failed attempts of my own I brought my car to Delgados . They got the stripped lug nut off, patched two holes in the tire and replaced the stripped lug nut along with a damaged lug nut. These guys are great and helped me out when I didnt know where else to turn. I highly recommend them!

I’m car illiterate (I just know my car is black and has 2 doors LOL). Delgados made sure to explain everything to me in a way that I understood. They were also very honest. They told me all the problems with the car that needed to be fixed ASAP as well as upcoming things that will need attention in the next few months. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount of repairs I had. I think the most important thing when looking for a mechanic (esp when you don’t know much ab cars) is to find someone you can trust. I def trust delgados and will be bringing my car here for any and all future servicing.

I had Delgado’s recommended by a friend as honest and reasonable. My car had a rattle, which I was pretty sure was a loose heat shield. With the pandemic, I wanted to wait while it was looked at to avoid using Uber or Lyft. Delgado’s was very kind and understanding about it and gave me a appointment the next day at 8 am. They took my car first, fixed the loose heat shield, and refused payment. I didn’t feel right about that, so I had my oil changed. They did it right away, checked with me about the price and I was on my way shortly after. I am sold. Delgado’s is my auto shop now.

Great Service. They did a tune up on my Suv, And also fixed minor parts I needed to get fixed in my SUV to pass emissions text, they even take your car to emissions test to get passed.

I had a bad alternator in a fiat 500. They charge a bit more for diagnosis on those but wave that if they do the work fixing it. I told them what I thought the problem was, they confirmed, and fixed it in less than 24 hours for a decent price.I had a bunch of other smaller things EVERY OTHER MECHANIC (including dealership) tallies up as if I asked to fix them to make the price for what I want seem better. They did not do this and I appreciate it.So big ups for working on a fiat honestly, without complaining or refusing outright. Also props for not milking customers.

There are very few places left in this world like this! Had several estimates done to my truck everyone diagnosed a 1800.00 differential problem, came hear and turned to be an extremely loose bolt In My suspension that had to be tightened and boom problem solved! It was bought to my attention that my differential gaskets were bad and ended up getting that taken care of for a very reasonable price!Customer for life!

I went to Delgados because they were recommended to me and I needed help immediately because my catalytic converters were stolen out from underneath my car in the middle of the night. So I learned about delgados through my family that been taking their cars to them for 8 years.My issues was on a 2008 infinti m35x.My issue was check engine light.I brought my car as soon as they open on a saturday morning and had it back by monday early afternoon in time forwork.So I was nervous about what shop to use cause infiniti parts and service can be expensive and I was afraid that a shop will repair and check engine light would come back on.I waited to do this review just because if that possibility.So delgados diagnosed the issues and priced the repairs.They brung price down a lil and I went ahead with repairs.They eliminated the check engine light and its been two months still no engine light.Price was fair and Im glad I went to delgados to fix issue on first try.I will recommend taking cars to delgado.They handle that business right.They 100% legit.Will go to them again for future car troubles.

I took my car here for a check engine light. Thought it was something minor but they said it was a major issue and quoted thousands of $$$ for the repairs. The mechanic Juan mentioned he had seen it many times before for my motor, so I checked online and found there was an extended warranty. The repairs were covered by a dealer, but I would not have known if he didnt have the experience and seen this issue before. For that I am really grateful and will use this location if I run into any other issues. They are very knowledge and seem trustworthy.

They were really efficient in servicing my Porsche Macan. I had to get my brakes pads replaced and they took a day to check the vehicle for any issues and also do whats required. Would visit again and recommend to everyone.
