Having just arrived from Atlanta for Christmas I was a bit weary about having a small shop fix my car. On my way up, my check engine light came and then later a service wrench came on. On a break, It turns out that the wrench meant it was time for oil change but I still don’t know about the engine light.Having read the great reviews about Paul and his staff, I was willing to give him a try. Even though it was Christmas Eve and he was closing early, Paul was able to squeeze me in.Reluctantly, as it turned out the engine light was for low oil. Paul also told me that they happen to be running a special on oil changes with tire rotation which was good timing for me so “killed two birds with one stone” as Paul said.Paul and his staff were truly professional and lived up to their reputation! If I lived in Chicago I would allow him to service my cars!

I brought my car to their garage because i needed an oil change and I was aware I was having an engine issue but wasnt clear on what the issue could be. Paul took great care of me. He was completely swamped and still managed to fit me in with next to no notice. He found the problems, he explained to me in great detail what the issues were, how to fix them, and why it was important to have it fixed. Paul called me as needed and kept me informed. They did a lot of work and managed to finish before 6pm. They had all the parts they needed already in the garage, which is unheard of. All their work is covered under a warranty. Now my car runs like new 😍. They are the oldest auto shop in Andersonville and I can see why. Super knowledgeable, efficient, great customer service. Paul you are a gem. Thank you for everything.

Honest, Quick, Communicative and Professional.Dropped my vehicle off with Paul the service writer before a road trip for a tire repair and oil change around 10am and was ready to be picked up at 1pm. Good guys doing honest work.The jiffy lube across the street was empty compared to AB Marathons two bay garage overflowing with business and it shows why.

Paul, as well as every employee who works at this AB Marathon location, is honest, and has always gone above and beyond for me and my vehicles. I do not trust any other mechanic shop in the city of Chicago as much as I trust Paul and his crew. I’ve been a customer for 3 years, and I will keep coming back to them for as long as I live in Chicago.Today he saved me from paying out of pocket by telling me my car should still be under warranty for a valve issue that has made my check engine light turn on. I double checked, as I should’ve done before bringing him my vehicle, and sure enough my Kia Soul was still under warranty, and I’ll be taking it to the dealer next week.

Ive been taking my car to AB Marathon for over 5 years. They consistently provide friendly service, give up front timelines for when a job will be completed and suggest less busy times when possible, and -- importantly for me -- offer clear and informative explanations regarding how certain systems function or what might be causing a particular problem, without a hint of patronizing. (I wish the same could be said for all shops.) I always feel like Im getting sincere advice about when something does *or does not* need to be done for the car, and Im confident that my car is being well maintained.

I decided to come here while looking for quotes on getting my front brakes done on my Audi A6. Several shops quoted me ridiculous numbers and on top of that none other than the dealership had the breaks. However the dealership wanted 4x what these guys charged.Fast forward 2 years, I moved to ATL and still drove my car back up to these guys for my 85K service, oil change and tires because they continue to do quality work at a reasonable price.They get cars in and out efficiently and are always will to help. They are different from most other auto shops. And while I had initial concerns using a gas stations service the reviews I read silenced those concerns and the repeated great service & customer support have proven those concerns wrong.If you want to know what is wrong with your car and not just steamrolled to buy random things come to this place. I prefer them over my Audi dealership.

They helped me out in a jam. My starter randomly died out not too from this place. Not only did they give me a fair price, but they let me keep my car there for a few days, free of a storage fee, while I put the money together for the repairs. Wish I could remember the guys names, but they’re friendly, understanding, hardworking dudes who knows what customer service is. Thanks again guys! I will be returning... but hopefully not too soon lol.

Anytime something goes wrong with my car these guys get me in and out in a timely manner. They also don’t try to nickel and dime you just to make a sell and are upfront and honest about what repairs need to be done.

I had my car towed here after my brake line sprung a leak and all my fluid came out. They did an extremely thorough inspection and very clearly explained to me all the issues with my car and why they should be fixed. They ended up doing all my brake pads and rotors as well as replacing both the rear brake lines in just over a day. I had expected to have to leave my car there for the week so this was great!Great service, honest explanations, fair prices. I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else.

Went in today for an oil change before leaving town for the weekend. Paid a great price for an oil change, fluid top off, and full inspection. No appointment necessary, and car was dropped off and picked up within 45 minutes! Paul was very polite and helpful, and assured that my visit went smoothly. I will be making this my go-to for auto service as long as I’m in the area!

I live down the street and have been going this place for a few years now for car maintenance and these guys are SO GREAT! I had a flat this morning and they were able to fix it in less time than it took me to get there!! I was barely 5 minutes late to work! They are so kind and so helpful, I recommend these guys any day!!

This is the best car repair shop in the city. Great warranties on their work. I have had many oil changes, a new alternator and purchased tires from here. This place is fair, honest, and excellent at repairing cars. They understand customer service and will make sure you are happy.

By far the BEST customer service I have ever had from a mechanic shop, and Ive had good customer service from others in the past. They do an excellent job explaining the problem, outlining what needs to be fixed now and what can wait, and even helping us diagnose potential problems when we have been too far away to come in. They may not always be the cheapest, but the prices are fair, and when they have been higher than normal its usually because of the quality of what they are using. Despite living in Wisconsin, we continue to come down for maintenance when possible. Thanks guys!

This is my go-to mechanic for years now. They almost always squeeze me in for an oil change on Saturdays even when theyre busy and they dont price-gouge like their competitors. They are great with customer service and are honest and up-front about whats needed and more importantly whats not when it comes to repairs. I trust them and would recommend them to anyone.

Ive had to come here twice now. Most places try to up sell you if youre a girl or treat you like youre an idiot with out knowing that your dad is a mechanic. This shop has been accommodating, genuine, friendly, helpful, etc. I could really go on and on. As a retail manager you just cant put a price on customer service! I rarely write reviews but I just cant say enough nice things about these guys. I just called them asking about a tire, and they are the most friendly well-spoken people. They make Canadians seem like Rednecks, they are so nice!!! (And they do really good work too!)

*** Updating: This place is still amazing. Dropped in today and they fixed a small but confusing problem for me on the spot, right away, no charge. I would go to them for anything.***Accountability means more than perfection. I had great experiences here getting my car repaired. However recently, after a break job, the brakes were a little bumpy. Three weeks later, I brought the car back ready for resistance or at least an argument. Instead I got great service, immediate attention, and a fix that took only a few hours. I dont expect any service people to be perfect, but I do expect them to be accountable for their work.

This Marathon location is pretty good - the prices are some of the lowest in the neighborhood, and the location is wildly convenient - I strongly recommend you try this as a source for gas - I appreciate that its competitive with the other gas stations in a 5-mile radius!

I went for the checkup, which includes an oil change and tire rotation. Knew my car was not in perfect condition, they let me know three things that needed fixed. Gave me an estimate of $1500+. They told me something was leaking, which they told me to give me a sense of urgency and lied.When i went to pick my car up they did not even have the estimates ready, I had to ask for them. They were more than willing and ready to set up an appointment to fix my car though. They were trying to work me so I drove back home and got a real estimate and fix for under half the price.

This place is amazing. My friends windshield wiper stopped working in a rain storm. When we pulled up Carlos stopped what he was doing and fixed it in two minutes.

Gas pump had started puming gas before I got to choose the type of gas I wanted.... It got all over my car and the Owner came out and said its not his fault and the $3.82 of gas thats on the ground I must pay for.... now Im out of gas and my $4.00 to get gas....

Car was acting funny and making weird noises, so I asked my co-workers where I should get it fixed, and they told me AB Marathon; and I was not disappointed. Explanation of what was wrong was very simple yet thorough, and they got me back on the road for a very fair price.

Phil was really helpful and replaced all of my tires, but when I picked it up the plastic coverings were cracked and they were not before. None of the plastic lug nut covers were not cracked, but upon pick up one was missing a large chunk.

ONE THOUSAND & ONE DOLLARS for front/rear brake pads + rotors and one front caliper. on a non-luxury sedan.Purchased all parts from NAPA: $350. Personally performed maintenance to find out, Rear Brakes did not need replacing.
