I had the wrong idea that an organization linked to AARP will help seniors with affordable insurance so I spent more than 30 minutes on the phone with the Hartford answering idiot questions as if I have pitbull dogs or a swimming pool or a wood pellet stove inside my home to find out their rate for a landlord property (meaning no contents) was more than $1200 a year when an average piece in around $800. outrageous insurance companies are greedy entities seeking to take peoples money for very little in return as they do not insure for the largest threats in America: flood and earthquakes. Also, who dont hesitate to punish you if you file a claim. Go to TRAVELERS for your insurance needs. Stay away from the Hartford.

Stay away from them and pray you dont get hit by one of their drivers, They will short change your claim and will hide and not answer calls, I dealt with adjuster Alyssa Isenhower and Ryan Freeze both were rude and acted as if I was at fault in the accident (was not I was in a red light their driver rear-ended me) They gave me 60% of the repairs appraised by Gerber and refuse to even answer my calls, I had to call from different numbers several times to finally get a hold of them to have them hang up by saying you are breaking. They are easily the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Be Warned!!!!

My parents had full coverage on their home/auto, that were worth more, then the home/Car...everytime, (after 15 years, of not filing a claim, with the Hartford,) they were denied, saying we had to pay percentage, which they wanted to write us a check for $6.00 for over $5,000 in damage to the roof, when it was weather related, but they got their money, all of those yrs, but when we needed help,(the Hartford) were not there for us, and my mother though they were a good investment, in protecting her home/car, all 3 claims were denied, and to try to write out a check for$6.00 is insulting, which we NEVER accept, and still have damage to the house, Something NEED to be done, about insurance, that takes your money, but dont provide the services, THIS INSURANCE(THE HARTFORD) IS A RIP OFF, AND WHEN I NOTICED AARP AS A CUSTOMER CONNECTED W/HARTFORD, DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION

This review is written to the public for you to be well informed, so yiu can make truth based decisions on who to do business with. I had the hartford insurance since 2016, account has always been on auto pay. Fell ill, and was hospitalised, missed august payment.. I called the company to pay on today the 13th of sept to pY in full and restart the autopay, only to find out my policy had been cancelled on the 6th of sept. Was told would not be reinstated, by operator who took the call. I asked for a supervisor, the operator told me to hold, before she placed on hold i asked for title of person whod be speaking with me, she explained dont know supervisors title, can ask when i speak with them. Waited another 4 to 5mins on hold. Spoke with Clarise Rickter. When she answered she did all the talking. Nevermind, Im the customer, or that i waited to speak with her.Clarise told me same thing, even after reviewing my account and hearing my issue. I asked to speak with someone higher, Clarise told me i could speak to whomever i want, everyone will say the same thing. I asked her for the corporate office number, Clarise said dont have can google. To which i did, i called the corporate office only to get more resistance. I spoke with main operator and asked for Doug Elliot, title from website states, president. The operator connected me to Doug Elliots assitants voicemail. Left a message. Called again and asked for Bill Bloom, Executive Vice President operations, technology & data. Bill Blooms assistant was extremely difficult and protective of him. Instead of simply taking the message and relaying it, she prided herself on being a deterrent. Told me hes very busy and might not have time to call you back, shed have someone get back with me. The secretary is making decisions as to what client Bill Bloom should talk to. A few hours later, received a call from Ki Duenez, stating she is in the Consumer Affairs Dept and she received my messages. (starngely, i never left this department any messages. Again the administrative assistant, decided, i was no one of importance to bother Bill Bloom and she gave my message to whom she desired) She politely, also declined to reinstate the policy and cared less about addressing the inappropriate speach from the supervisor, instead assuring me the Hartford has no obligation to reinstate. I understand there is no obilgation, i was asking as a loyal customer who has always paid the bill, thru direct deposit. Still no one was willing to budge. What i found out is that once your cancelled, now the next company automatically unfavors that and charges a higher rate. Thank you Hartford, for showing mercy. I learned today i mean nothing, a policy is more important than a human being.
