I cannot day enough great things about M&R! I don’t think we’ve had that kind of service ever! They knew we were in a pinch with JUST buying a car and having issues the NEXT day and they knew we needed the car to drive our kids to school the next day. Not only did they answer the phone after the shop closed the night before, but they squeezed us in first thing in the morning and offered solid advice about the overall car condition and the most amazing part was they offered to drop the car off when it was done since it was later and we had kids (although my husband was able to come get it), and they washed the car and cleaned it for free better than most car washes! That is the best service we have ever had!

Called for a quote on work that I knew needed to be done on my engine, I was questioned on the demeaning side if I knew if that was actually the problem (I do) and then was told they would call back later with a quote. Later never happened.

I went to M&R because my exhaust pipe cracked and my traverse was making a super loud noise! It was my first time there and from the moment I walked in I was greeted, asked what was wrong, they wrote every detail down. They called me every time when they had a new update, my truck was ready when they said it would be ready. I wasn’t given the run around at all. They also found things wrong with my truck that I didn’t even know was wrong with it! But they always called before working on it and asked permission!! I highly recommended them!!! Mike Jr was awesome!!!

Excellent communication about diagnosis and progress updates. Car runs like new after major work done that wasn’t cheap; but I never felt cheated or that I was getting up charged. The wash and interior cleaning was “free” and better than that received at detail shops.

I visited M & R Car Import Services II, INC couple of months back and they provided with exceptional service. Last month I went back again for RPM dropping on my car when turning the AC on, they said that they could fix the issue, as throttle body need service. They also told me that one of the engine mounts is somewhat bad and had to replace it. I already replaced all the engine mounts myself couple of weeks earlier. They charge me around $230.00 just to inspect the mount. The only issue with the mount was it was not properly tighten. I think the technician did not work on that and just told Eli that it need replacement. Charging approx. $230.00 for inspecting the mount and giving FALSE diagnosis about it was a LIE.As far as the cleaning of throttle body is concern, they did not do the required job and now there is a lot of carbon deposit on the muffler and the problem persist while turning the AC on.In my opinion, they are only good for the first time, second time they just ripped you. I would say not to take your car for service and will not ask anyone to take their car for any issue, as they did not do the required job and charging me excess for the mount issue which would have been resolved by just tighten the bolt wasn’t justified.AFTER M&R RESPONSE:Your staff did not evaluate the condition properly and gave a false estimate about the mount. Apparently your response is generic and will not justify the company standards for which your are proud of. In the response you did not even recognize the issue for which the car came in for (Throttle Cleaning) and highlighted the other issue which does not pertain to the last visit.

The owner here is absolutely helpful and trustworthy!! The owner himself spend 30mins to helped me fixed a small problem on my car right before he’s taking off, and he did that for totally free of charge. What an amazing man! They do all types of repair in the shop. This is the first auto repair shop I visited in Chicago, and this place will always be my top choice!

Great service! My car was stuck parked on the side of the road and they facilitated the whole process from tow to repair. Since the car was so close to their shop, they provided a courtesy tow service. The repair costs were very reasonable and I would definitely use their service again.

Highly recommended by a friend. So far the repairs seem good. I appreciated going over photos of the problems together, and the warnings about what may need service next (without pressure.) No reason for not giving a 5th star other than I usually reserve that for companies that Ive worked with a long time. I think Ill be going in soon for a new problem, so that will give me more time to leave a longer-term review;)

Mike and the rest of the team at M&R were great. I had failed my emissions test and they diagnosed the issue, and ensured that my car passed. They even helped me obtain the new license sticker to save time and hassle on my part, which was great. They also did a full assessment of my car so I know what may need fixing or attention in the near future. All repairs and costs were communicated up front and in advance of any work done. Fantastic Service. Mike Jr and the team went above and beyond, starting with doing a superb and pain free job job fixing the car. They handled all insurance dealings and issues, even something that needed to be done that they fixed and said they would follow up for reimbursement later. We lived out of town so they rushed to finish the job, staying late into Saturday night so that we could leave town on Sunday. They found a strange noise after repairing it and took it straight back to fix it - Driving to the last open Nissan shop late on Saturday to get and validate to the part. Great family owned business that I highly recommend.

M&R is a wonderful shop and I would unequivocally recommend it to anyone looking for a thorough, competitively-priced, and easy to do deal with mechanic. I have a 1994 Camaro Z28 which has required extensive mechanical work over the years to keep it running like new. As such, Ive dealt with several different auto shops. By far, M&R was my greatest experience and I fully intend to have all my future work done at their shop. If you need auto work in the Chicago area, M&R is the obvious choice.

We were traveling from out of town for the 4th of July weekend when our car broke down in the city. M&R was super quick at diagnosing our car and helping us get on the road as quick as possible. I found Mike Jr at M&R Auto after receiving bloated estimate for maintenance/repair work at another Service Center--where there were very few reasonable explanations as to why particular services were needed and why the prices were so high. Mike Jr has the heart and head of an educator and the practicality of a person who looks to retain customers by informing them and providing excellent estimates AND outstanding quality work. I feel great about going to Mike for any and all future services. The only downside is the lack of parking

Great family-run auto shop with a very personal touch. When I failed my emissions testing, they were able to help get everything fixed and even took my car to get tested and put the city sticker on my car. Saved me significant time and stress.

Mike Jr and M & R were fantastic. My cars engine light had been on/off for years, they found the problem, ordered parts over night and had it ready to go the next day. They also are EPA certified and could do my Illinois State Emissions test, send them my pass status, and set up my city sticker renewal. Fantastic experience and I would recommend these guys to anyone!

These guys are the best they said. Competitive pricing they said. I trusted the reviews on here and thought hey, this local company seems like an honest place to take my vehicle, they cant be like other mechanics, look at the reviews. Sure enough, I got bent over all the same. Quoted $770 to fix my thermostat housing and their diagnostic ensured this was the issue. Okay, whatever, I just want my car running normal again. Three days go by, I get a call and the mechanic now wants another $500 plus to fix the cooling fan too. Thats not what we negotiated on, the $770 was to fix the car. Now they want $1,270 plus. I picked up my car today, which still isnt fixed, and trying to find someone else to do the repairs. Im not trusting these dishonest snake charmers another second with my vehicle.Edit: Gotta love their response too, notice how they immediately shift the blame onto the customer. Classy. Hey guys, just to let you know. That extra $500 repair to fix the cooling fan only cost me $78 and 2 hours of time to install myself. Guess what? The car still isnt fixed. That wasnt the problem. Bet you had plans to charge me even more after coming to the same conclusion.

I am truly beyond happy that I found M & R Services. I was looking for a shop that would be close to work and home, and somewhere that a smaller company, preferably family owned. Going into the shop not knowing what to expect in terms of pricing and figuring out the repairs and time frame for my car, they were beyond transparent and informative the entire time.Upon coming to pick up my car, I worked with one of the owners, and he was more than kind. I recently moved from right next door to M&R. I had used them a couple times in the past, so when my tire went flat in my new neighborhood, I called Mike and his team to see if they could help. I recently had some work done on my car. M & R happened to be walking distance from my home so I gave them a shot. It turned out one of my friends had been going there for years and spoke highly of them. They are very friendly throughout the entire process. It is family owned and you can tell that they value their customers. They gave me an estimate on the work which was lower than I was expecting. They said it would be done in 3-4 business days. It was ready in 3 days and for the exact price on the estimate. The car looked great when I picked it up and they even helped me with a rental. If you need work done on your car this is a very good place to go.

I feel fortunate to have come across B&M and Michael at a time when my car blew an oil line. They were fast, professional, honest and genuine. Their fees were better then I expected and I would highly recommend them. They will be servicing my car when it needs it in the future.

I was looking at a 2015 M3 for sale in Chicago. Being 900 miles away meant I could not verify it’s exact condition myself and wasn’t going to send lots of money to a stranger without knowing more. I found Michael at M&R and thanks to his shops thorough PPI I was able to make an informed decision. I was sent pictures of all concerns no matter how minor they were. The charge was very reasonable. Actually less than I thought it would be. I was so pleased with the value that I actually paid a little extra to say thanks.Unfortunately I am too far away to use them on a regular basis but for you local folks there should be no doubt on where to take your European car.

Ive taken my car to M&R a couple of times for mechanical repairs. Mike is good to give the car a thorough inspection and spot any other issues with my aging car. Their service is prompt, friendly and informative. Hes willing to send pictures of issues he identifies, which is really helpful when trying to decide to make repairs.

I got my car back on the day it was brought in. Also they looked for the place to put 2 rubber plugs that were in the car when I got it. The package the plugs were in said they had to go someplace and I appreciated the effort they made to try to find out where the plugs went.

The service here was exceptional. Mike is awesome, very friendly and informative. I had taken my car to get emissions tested, which took 1.5 hours round-trip now that the state closed all of the testing facilities in Chicago, and it failed. M&R not only fixed the issue the next day, but one of their technicians took my car to re-tested at a facility near their house! That saved me another long trip out of the city. They truly went above and beyond.

Local family-run shop. Staff were so friendly and helpful at every interaction, from my initial call to explaining my options and possible costs to me after they checked out the car. Really appreciate the pleasant atmosphere, prompt phone calls/updates, and no-pressure discussion. They were very friendly and understanding when I decided not to pursue the repairs on my old car.

Great service from a garage I know run by people I trust.

I wont let anyone else touch or do repairs on my car except M&R, unless Im in a different city. and even then Ill only get it checked out where I am only to confirm whether theyre being honest because M&Rs quote is always more reasonable and they will tell me if something can go a lot longer than the other shop said it would. Therefore giving advice that saves me money and makes less for him, which is why I keep coming back. That, and because if your a repeat customer they tend to give free oil changes or complimentary car washes if/when they can which is awesome

Literally the most pleasant possible experience all thanks to Mike. Im not even mad that my cars messed up. Mike was professional, composed, patient, and very thorough in his explanation of the whole process from helping me file a claim with my insurance to instructing us on the next steps to take to get a rental and he let us ride around in his Masi with him while it rained. Definitely felt like cool kids.
