I lived at 2970 N. Sheridan for 2 years and I could not recommend it enough. Pete was fantastic to work with signing and renewing my lease. Katy is absolutely the nicest human being and is always there to assist with any issues. The maintenance/ cleaning staff are always on top of any issue, no matter how small. They truly couldn’t have a better team. I am grateful that was my first apartment in Chicago. If it was closer to my work I would have stayed.

Weve lived at 3270 N. LSD for the past six years and I cant say enough good things about this place. I love the architectural details of the vintage apartments, including the parquet floors and beautiful moulding. Weve been able to personalize our apartment with lighting, curtains, and paint and make it feel like our own.The management doesnt get any better. Ever person who works at this building is charming, professional, responsive, and caring. Concerns are addressed immediately. It would be hard to find a better team. Were only leaving because were moving across the country to be closer to family. But I feel like Im leaving family here at 3270 N. LSD.

Absolutely amazing experience working with the Wirtz family. The Regional Manager and her team were absolutely customer first in every way you can imagine. We are moving to another state but we cant wait to get back to Chicago/Wirtz residence once our commitments have been met else where. Special thank to the Wirtz Team for making us so comfortable for 5 years!

Wirtz has been great and Katy Tenold is an absolute gem! I’ve always received prompt responses to my questions and they provided one of the most easiest rental processes I’ve ever dealt with. Highly recommend!

Slumlords. I did not feel safe or respected while living there. I lived at 3270 LSD for 5 years, and each year things got worse, yet more expensive. The building is falling apart, and the company has a lot of turnover so things are clearly not managed well. They are trying to market themselves as “luxury,” but that means a lot more than a new coat of paint in the lobby. It means being attentive, proactive, and treating your tenants like valued customers. I had so many maintenance issues, and had to push every time to get them taken seriously. My apartment flooded after I reported an issue 3 times and was ignored. The floor had to be replaced, and it took 6 weeks. I bounced between hotels and friends houses while patiently waiting for the work to be done. I put in security cameras to make sure progress was being made, and one of the workers unplugged them. I reported this person, asked for an explanation, and got nothing. This man still works for them, and I rode in the elevator with him shortly before moving out. I upped my security afterwards, and caught multiple employees entering without consulting me. One left the door unlocked while I was out of town. There really isn’t anything quite like watching your landlord talk openly about how unpleasant you are, on camera, in your home, without permission to be there at all. Like I said- I did not feel safe or respected while living there.

Ive had an overall positive experience living with Wirtz, primarily due to all the lovely staff. They have always been accommodating and highly responsive. When searching for an apartment, I chose a unit that was undergoing renovations. Throughout the entire reno, they sent me continuous updates and photos. When I found out the cabinets were not going to be the color I initially expected, they went out of their way to work with me and find a finish that I would like. When I finally moved in, the apartment looked beautiful. While living here, maintenance was always on top of repair requests, and I never had an issue with management. My biggest complaint is that the appliances and fixtures are pretty cheap. The oven turns off at random while cooking and cant fit a full size baking sheet, doorknobs regularly need tightening, and the bedroom closet doesnt have a rod for hanging clothes, so Ive had to use a curtain rod that falls periodically. My main reason for moving out is that I need a bigger space! Even then, the management office was incredibly flexible in extending my lease by just a few days so I could move into the apartment I wanted.

My family and I live at 3240 N Lake Shore Drive. The management company is outstanding as is our building staff. We recently had an issue with construction dust in our apartment and Cyndi Rachel and the rest of the team went above and beyond to remedy it. It is more like living in a hotel than a rental - top notch service!

Just like most big rental companies inChicago, Wirtz could care less about their tenants and only care about $$$. Theyre inconsiderate of tenants time and inflexible.A few weeks ago I received an email on a Wednesday that painters were coming to paint my apartment door on a Friday. The email stated my apartment door would need to be unlocked all day and pets would need to be secured or removed. I didnt feel comfortable relying on 1 maintenance person to keep an eye on 12 units and I live in a studio, so no way to secure my cat without someone being home. I had to unexpectedly take work off with pretty much no notice. Now Im moving out on 7/31 and really needed to stay the extra night so I dont have to move my cat to a hotel for the night (2 moves is very stressful for an animal that never leaves the apt). My stuff would be out, just me, the cat and the air mattress would be there. I know I was asking for a lot, but Ive been a good tenant for 3 years, I was willing to pay and they are not showing my apartment. They didnt even consider it and lectured me on the move out process. They could not get me out of there fast enough. Its funny because when I moved into my unit it had been vacant for a month and they were so desperate to rent it out they let me push the lease until the end of the month. (Which was very nice of the leasing agent who was great.)*If anyone is thinking about renting a unit here sight unseen with a one day turn around I hope you read this and decide not to because the peeling paint in the bathroom from no fan and showers for 3 years isnt going to be resolved in less than a day.The one star is for the building engineers at 535 W Cornelia who are beyond amazing (but terribly overworked and Im sure underpaid).

If I could get this management company zero stars I would. They are nightmarish. I was a sub tenant on a 6 month lease. It wasn’t even six hours before I found two dead cockroaches under the fridge. Within the next three months I’d find seven dead cockroaches plus countless baby cockroaches in my unit and on the ground floor where my unit was located. I tried to bring this to their attention, and they kept denying the fact that there were any cockroaches in the building. I tried working with them and their pest control company but was basically told that they can’t promise that the cockroaches would go away. Thinking that they would understand that I was in an unsanitary living situation, I asked to be moved to a different unit or a different apartment building. They exclusively care about money and made it escalate to a point that caused extreme emotional and financial grief. If you want to lease with a management company that does not care about their tenants at all then this company is for you.

If I could talk to the Miguel of a year ago, I know exactly what I would say: “Yes, go with them, it’s the best decision you can possibly make. Don’t even doubt it!”. By that time, I was looking for an apartment every single day, all day long. Of course, finding a place to live is a very important decision. I would have loved it in anyone would have told me how amazing living here would have been. I first arrived by the beginning of August 2018 and I’m still living here. 422 W Melrose St. truly is my home now. It has been the best decision I made!To begin with, I contacted with Pete K. He is an amazing professional and even better person. I was by then still living in my home country in Europe and he certainly made all the process for me to get my apartment easy and without complications. I signed the lease agreement and I officially had my apartment in Chicago without even being there. He really has been very helpful all this time I’ve known him, and he truly is good at his job: getting yourself a new home. Thank you, Pete, for all your time, help work and consideration. I’m certainly keeping your number just in case in the future I have to come back to Chicago! All this time I have had no problems at all. The building is extremely clean and tidy. I’ve never heard a single noise and everyone living her is very friendly and welcoming. Whenever I’ve needed the maintenance team, they have always showed up super quick and have efficiently and effectively helped any issue I might have had. They are true professionals and they do their work fast and well, so you don’t have any inconvenience. Now, I would like to extend my gratitude to Lolita, Eric and Jack, and all the other members of the team. Thank you very much for everything you’ve done for me, from helping with any issue to that smile when I got into the building after a rough day!As for the amenities, the building just went through a renovation and the main entrance looks just gorgeous, very elegant and welcoming. It’s a beautiful and well decorated space that always gets positive comments. The elevators have always worked perfectly fine and I have never had to wait at all. Everything works very efficiently around here! The laundry room is very spacious and well equipped. There’s always enough washing and drying machines for everyone in the building and I’ve never had nor heard of any issues with them. Furthermore, as I was saying earlier, the apartments are very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. The heating systems works amazing and never had any problem at all. What I really appreciated was the fact that they take very seriously insect issues. Same can be said about odors. Never have I smelled anything funny or weird. They really keep the building extremely clean and tidy. Congratulations for such a wonderful work! Finally, I would like to mention the administrative team, specially Katherine S. Whenever I’ve needed them, they’ve always been responsive, quick, effective and true professionals. They try their very best to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible and they really make it happen. They are excellent at making feel at home even if you are very away from home! Thank you team for making this experience so great and for always having been there for me with a smile willing to help me with anything I’ve needed! So, Miguel from the past, don’t even think about it anymore and go with Wirtz! You’ll have a true amazing, comfortable and unique experience here at Wirtz! And hey you all, if there’s anything else you’d like to know or any further information you’d like to have, please don’t hesitate to contact them! They are always happy to talk to you and help you with any questions you might have! Thank you Wirtz for everything!

Couldn’t care less about the tenants. First of all it’s October 31st in Chicago and we have no heating in our apartment (they’re “working” on fixing it for about a month now). We’ve been waiting 2 weeks for the stove to be fixed. I’ve been waiting 2 months for someone to resolve the issue with my parking space (it’s always partially taken by garbage containers). 3 months wait for the floor to be fixed (still waiting). Oh! And there’s a hole in the wall which no one wants to take care of either. If you don’t feel like dealing with that kind of stuff, stay away 🤦🏼‍♀️

From the moment we were contacted by Noah (who is fantastic), our experience with Wirtz was exceptional. We had the pleasure of working with Anthony Cwan, who is truly one of the most patient people Ive ever encountered. He showed us several units, noting our preferences and recommending additional buildings for us to see. We had decided on one but then noticed another building we wanted to see before signing on the dotted line, and he made sure to get us in immediately to view it. Other people might have grown annoyed or rushed us along, but Anthony was kind, funny, and thoughtful (while putting up with loads of silly questions and requests) - he is honestly beyond outstanding to work with.

For me, Wirtz Realty has been the most responsive realty company I’ve ever dealt with. As an almost former resident of 535 W Cornelia, maintenance was by far the best in regards to responsiveness. I will never forget putting in a work order and John (one of the building engineers) was at my door within 3 minutes. I was beyond baffled. The same holds true for the main office on Melrose. Pete Koszela always gets back within hours in regards to pretty much anything. If he can tell you’re a little over worried in regards to something, he’ll let you know everything’s good and ease any concern you may have. After being with approximately 5 different realtors since I’ve graduated. Wirtz by far has been the most responsive to their tenants needs. I will definitely miss that and honestly I’m kinda scared because some landlords can be pretty shady, but, not these guys.Overall, I enjoyed my stay. If you’re looking for a relatively low cost place within the heart of quite literally everything, 535 W Cornelia is pretty good. It’s far enough away to where you don’t get the noise that comes with living near Clark/Halstead. I will miss being able to walk quite literally everywhere. This building is pretty good. If you think having to provide your own A/C is awful, here’s the catch, you get to keep it, it’s yours and if you’re a new resident, it’s a portable unit. Overall everyone’s pretty friendly and nice. After two years, the neighborhood just became a little bit overwhelming as there’s constantly stuff to do. Plus, I needed a bigger place with my vehicle closer (since I drive for work).

This company is disorganized, unprofessional, and with so-so properties. I had an appointment with them to tour apartments, and they didnt even show up. The person on the phone (sounded like a bro doing a summer job) seemed unable to efficiently navigate schedules for tours. He called the on-site engineer, who turned out not to be on-site, and so couldnt give a tour either. After giving them a second chance, someone did show up for a tour... but couldnt show all apartments as they had forgotten to give a 48 hr notice to one of the tenants! Being such a failure at giving tours doesnt bode well for other tasks...

From our very first phone call from the Wirtz office in response to our rental inquiry to getting the keys to our new apartment from our resident super Alim, we have had nothing but extraordinary service. Our leasing consultant, Anthony Cwan, was amazing. He was professional and knowledgeable but, more importantly, he was considerate and thoughtful when it came to dealing with all of our questions and concerns. I must have sent him a hundred texts and emails and he answered each one of them as if they were my very first question and he never made me feel that I was taking up his time. He was quite a pleasure to work with. The apartment that we rented needed some work and I was thrilled to have our some of our ideas incorporated into the renovation. Not only did Anthony keep us informed of the progress but both my husband and I were very surprised to get a phone call from the Wirtz office letting us know how things were going. How thoughtful and unexpected in these days of texting informality.I feel like I already know Jessica for all of the email communications we have had regarding paperwork and the like. She let me know that no question was too insignificant and she always gave me her prompt attention.I cant say enough about our experience with Wirtz. Our apartment is beautiful and it already feels like home. We hope to be living in out new apartment for awhile and we would recommend Wirtz to all of our friends and family.

When trying to leave my apartment, the company was beyond uncooperative with me. Zillow (in additional to Trulia and HotPads, since they are all synced) requires that buildings of 50+ units have vacancies only posted by their building owners, and our building owner (Wirtz) showed open listings on their own site by pulling them from Zillow. Since I could not list my place on Zillow, nor Trulia, nor HotPads, and it also did not appear on the Wirtz rental site. Management refused to aid in any way which delayed my sublease process by over a month. I was working with a realtor during this process and when she came to their office to discuss with them they kicked her out of their office and are currently trying to fine her through the MLS. This was a terrible ending to a mediocre place and a poor experience. Even on my first day they failed to give me the keys for my unit and someone had to come back to the office from their house after hours to let me into my new apartment. Would not recommend leasing from them in the future.

The management is least bothered about tenants requests for proper heating facility. Im frustrated with their silence and they seems not concerned about the welfare of tenants.
