I wanted to take time to thank Ryan and Brooks Tree Services! We have a gorgeous 100+ year old pecan tree in our back yard. For the last 11 years we have struggled to know what to do with it. It splits three properties and is so large, that it was intrusive to all three homes. We considered cutting it down, but Ryan at Brooks Tree Service told us it would be a shame to cut it down and to trust him with trimming it back.Ryan and Brooks Tree Service crew were mesmerizing to watch. They meticulously took in consideration every cut they made to preserve the health and appearance of the tree. Given the size and difficulty of the job, they had to take a different route than originally planned and communicated every detail with us. Ryan and Brooks Tree Service crew were so professional throughout and left the job spotless in the end. I believe that the service they provide is a true art and is completely unique to this area. Yes, there are tons of companies that will come out and cut back trees, but Ryan is an arborist and a perfectionist. Im so thankful we didnt cut the tree down. We used Brooks tree Service to prune/trim the Crepe Mertle in our back yard. It had been 10 years since it was pruned last, and they did a wonderful job on it. They cleaned up the entire back yard and left it cleaner than when they arrived. Will definitely use them again if needed.

Mr. Brooks tree service was recommended by a friend along with another company. After speaking with him, he arrived the next day to give me an estimate. Mr. Brooks is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He explained exactly what was necessary to trim several trees behind my house. He answered all of my questions and also gave me advice about getting estimates in general. He provided a detailed quote with two options and did not pressure me at any time. On the day of service, he and his crew arrived exactly on time and went straight to work. The crew was professional and organized. At one point, I looked out and Mr. Brooks was actually in one of the trees! The job was completed in no time at all and done just as he said. We have used Mr. Brooks services about a half dozen times over the last 25 years. I could not recommend anyone more highly than him and his team. I was very impressed at the knowledge and professionalism they had for a simple estimate. Overall our tree is in good health and it was a bit of an over reaction on my part. I had a very large mimosa tree in the backyard that overhung two fence lines. After speaking with Charles on the phone, he came out to my property to quote the job very quickly. Once I had signed the contract he and his crew were able to come out and take the tree down within a week. Had 2 trees removed that were 5’-10’ from the house and 40’ and 60’ tall.With the trees so close to the house Mr Brooks was on site guiding the process.Everyone on the crew had a job. They kept the debris cleared for safety. Mr. Brooks did a wonderful job on my tree removal. He was very professional and always kept in contact regarding the job. He and his staff did a great job on the tree(s) removal itself and kept my yard clean and ready for planting fresh grass seed. I was a little worried he would be booked for a while after hurricane Mathew but after the estimate he was able to get started within a couple days. Mr. Brooks and his men just finished up a pretty large job for us and did an outstanding job! They removed a lightning struck tee that was wedged between two others without compromising surrounding trees, structures or our lawn. He went above and beyond, educating us about all the different trees on our property and what would make and keep them healthy even before he gave us a quote.After 8 years of being very happy with the growth of our trees, we hired Mr. Brooks again to do a variety of work that included trimming a tall tree, removing a tree and grinding its stump right next to the house, and a technically difficult large stump removal on a steep slope that was somewhat difficult to access. I have used Brooks Trees Service 3 times now. He took out 6 trees close to the house. All went well he sights and measures each tree before sawing to ensure the tree falls precisely where desired. I cannot give high enough praise for Mr. Brooks and his team. My whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. My husband and I are listing our home in Chesapeake and badly needed work done in a short window of time. Mr. Brooks responded to my call very promptly and was out within a day or two to give a free estimate. Not only was he extremely professional and personable, but he made sure to be very descriptive in his recommendations for the work he thought our property could benefit from. He explained everything they would do and made sure to include me every step of the way. He and his crew were out a few days later and in under 4 hours we had 3 trees removed and 7 cut back. A most pleasant experience working with a true gentleman and professional who completed my tree trimming with his experienced and efficient team of employees. Brooks Tree Service has performed tree work on 3 occasions for us - a stump removal, a canopy reduction and a controlled removal (top down extraction) at different times. In each case the work was performed with professional expertise and great care. Mr. Brooks was very accommodating and the site was left neat with no damage or debris. Great communication from beginning to end with Mr. Brooks. I had called several tree services for quotes, but Brooks came out with one of the best price. I, not only settled with him because of his price, but because his demeanor and professionalism over the phone.As for the tree service, I had one large pine tree in Norfolk that I wanted to get rid of. The tree was leaning towards the neighbors fence and was sandwiched between the fence and my deck. The trick was for them to cut it in a way where it dropped towards the yard, and sure it enough it did. Clean job after it was all said and done.

Worth every penny. I hired them to trim three large trees of dead branches, some high in the canopy. They arrived within the window given and set to work right away. They were careful to make sure my fence and shed were not damaged and cleaned up when they were finished... even stray twigs and leaves that flew into the neighbors yard. I highly recommend them.

Had to have a dead tree removed in an emergency, called several services and Brooks was the only one that would be able to get out in a hurry. Not only did Mr. Brooks show up and give a reasonable estimate, he was able to remove the dead branches in 2 days after initial contact. He and his crew were on time and did a fantastic job with the removal and clean up. Will definitely be calling him back to do more maintenance/removal as needed.

Mr. Brooks and his crew did some canopy reduction of some trees in our yard. They did an excellent job on the trees. In addition, they didnt harm my lawn at all. The clean-up they did was outstanding; the side yard actually looked better after they left than it did before they started.Mr. Brooks really goes through the time and trouble it takes to do the job and do it right.
