What a great day! Why? Just received a world-class haircut from a world-class beautician Mi-Jin Kim. Hair First Barber Shop is a military & veteran friendly establishment where everybody greets you with a mask-wearing friendly smile! Good people giving great haircuts. What more can you ask for?

I recently started taking my boys to this barber shop and they do an amazing job. They are clean and wear masks. Amazing haircuts! I will keep taking them back.

Came in 09/08. Around 5:30 is when I came in, a lady named Shu cleaned me up. Even though I was a little tricky, she worked with me to get what I wanted. She also does a fantastic lineup. I would recommend her to any Asian person who wants to get a good lineup. 11/10 thank you shu

To be honest. My line up is super sharp even went the extra mile to follow up with a razor. Shop is also extra clean and fresh so shout out to hair first barbershop.

I got my head shaved with a straight razor. Sue used clippers, straight razor and safety razor. She then gave me a hot towel and shoulder massage. Great haircut experience.

I’ve been going to Great clips or Sports clips for years now with 50/50 results on haircuts. After another bad haircut at great clips I decided to try a barbershop and came across this place. Really great job just what I wanted. Will definitely be my new go to place!

I made an appt around noon online. A guy and I walked in at the same time and he is apparently a regular. They asked if he had an appt and he said he just called. They took him in before me. My time is just as valuable and I made an earlier appt. Will go elsewhere I suppose. A shame as a co-worker raved about this place.

My barber Pete, is ver personable, professional, maticulas, he has never done me wrong. Today I had a 10:30 appointment. I showed up at 10:30. It is now 11:10. They have finished 3 haircuts that were already in progress when I got here and sat another 2 people. I am still waiting. I told them I had a10:30 appointment. They said Im next. This also happened at my last appointment.

Great Place to get a haircut. No appointment needed, but you can make one. Nice waiting area with games and stuff for the kids.

Came last in last Sunday there were 3 barbers and 2 people waiting figured great itll be 15/20 minutes... not the case appointment after appointment came in and 2 hours later I left without a hair cut:( I get it that you had appointments but if its going to be a 2 hour wait at least say something.

Hands down the best barbershop around. Ive been going here for a few years now and from the first time I got a cut, its been on point. One of the few barbers that still use straight-razors with hot towels. Ask for Pete, he knows what hes doing.

Best haircuts I have ever had ! The attention to detail is incredible, not one hair out of place and a hot Eucaplyptus scented towel and face and neck massage as well. I I get a flattop and every time it comes out absolutely perfect. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars

This is my number 1 barbershop located in Chesapeake. Thu is the best barber in the shop. Dont get that statement wrong, the other barbers are pretty good too. Thu have been cutting my hair over 8 years and shes been the best barber I ever had in years.

So if I would have wrote this review Jan 10 it would have been a 5 star review in a heartbeat. Thu did an amazing job with my hair. I showed her a couple pictures and she did the rest. My barber was out of the area so I took a chance on the place. So much so I decided to return today.Thu wasn’t there today but I said eh. It’s okay. I’ll give someone else a chance.So I showed today’s barber the pictures that I took after after Thu did my hair because I was honestly that impressed.Unfortunately today’s trip was about the exact opposite. I showed today’s barber the pictures and thought alright, this should be good.Instead.... today’s barber brought out the clippers. And boy did she not let them things go. Stage 1. Did the side. Asked if it was short enough. Showed today’s barber(TB) one of the pictures from earlier and off came some more.But! Instead of taking it and squaring it off.... TB just kept going and rounded it. Okay great. Not the worst thing. Time for the top. With the clippers in hand TB just went at it. And never relinquished.When it came time for the bangs. I asked TB to chop into the bangs. Knowing that my bangs can get weirdly pointy with having two opposing cowlicks. Instead, TB made it even pointier with the clippers.Needless to say. My hair looks absolutely nothing like it did three weeks ago.I even have a divot on one side of my hair and the other side has this sharp angle that goes into the top.I’ll be wearing a hat outside of work for the next couple weeks. And well.... for what I’m gonna do at work? I guess it’s a good thing I like to make my coworkers laugh.I will however return once more. I’ll be making sure to have thu do my hair this time because this place does deserve another chance.Great barbershop just an absolutely horrific experience on my second visit.Will update after my next visit.Forgot to update. Any time I have gone its been a wonderful experience. My hair is not easy to cut, but the team at the shop always has it under control. From fades to the hot towels, wow. A very nice clean, awesome barber shop that I enjoy going to. The staff is wonderful.

45 minutes for a 10 min haircut... When you lose more customers than you do in a hour. Than, somethings wrong! If, I was the owner Id be bankrupt by the end of the month. Good haircuts but yall need to spend up the process. When the customers start falling asleep while waiting for a haircut then something wrong.

Philip is by far the best barber in Virginia. Hes been cutting my hair for 7 years. Love the shop they really pamper you. Hot towels, back massages, refreshments, video games television netflix pool and candy machines for the kids. Really chill environment. Would definitely recommend!!!

Very disappointed. The last 3 times Ive come here to get my hair cut my experience has been excellent. Today, I walk in and sit down and tell the lady how Id like my hair cut. She informs me that they now charge extra for a hard part. Seriously? It takes literally 30 seconds with the clippers to make a hard part and does not warrant an additional fee. I told her I was disappointed at how greedy and petty they were being and im taking my business elsewhere.TL;DR: They are now being greedy and charging extra for hard parts, a 30 second job. Take your money elsewhere.

Just got my first haircut there and its a great place with friendly staff plus there is something to do while waiting for your turn; theyve got magazines, TV, a PS2, and a pool table. After the haircut, they used a hot towel to remove excess hair plus they added a massage at the end which was nice. I plan on making return visits here for future haircuts.

Regina was beyond amazing!! One of the best haircuts my husband received and she was very pleasant to talk to. She was the only person working today (07/04/2016) and she was able to handle every customer that walked in in a timely manner!! We will be coming back again!

Hair First did a pretty good job with my hair cut, and they had some good stuff to keep you busy while youre waiting. A computer, and a pool table. When I went I was hoping for the older style barber, but they still did a good job.

The first time I went, the owner cut my hair and it was great! However, I have been there twice since, and both times the owner just sat in her chair because she didnt want to cut my hair. Her employees cut my hair instead, but they had no idea what they were doing.

They pay attention to the little details, like warm shaving cream for the back of your neck and a hot cloth to clean you up afterwards. I see Philip and he does a great job everytime.

Open on a Sunday this place was BUSY but I waited less than 10 minutes. Phillip took care of me (30-40 minutes total so dont stop if youre in a hurry) and did a great job! Glad I tried this place, I will be back!! Razor and hot towel barber shops are hard to find.
