As a piano teacher it is always a pleasure to browse the vast array of music available here. I purchase instructional method books, notespellers and additional fun and interesting music for my students. I receive a teachers discount which I appreciate. In addition to finding great selections for every student, I also find music to use in entertaining and as director of music at my church. At times I even find special items for gifts for students and choir. One Christmas I gifted rhythm eggs from Mountain Music. I have been shopping here for many years and through two relocations! They are just that good!!

Amazing experience! Took a guitar there for an input jack repair and they did a great job! And they obviously put care and consideration in their craft because I had lost the back plate of the guitar many years ago and they even made a plastic backplate that screws seamlessly into position which I was surprised that they went the extra mile without me asking. Will be coming back to them in the future.

The owner has an obvious issue with dealing with younger customers and has no interest in selling to anybody who doesn’t look like they have money. I went in there looking for a drum kit and he had no interest in helping me pick one or informing me about what they had. A guitar also fell off the wall near me also and the owner thought I’d done it, when really the whole mounting came out of the wall but he was very quick to huff and puff and act like a child. Would not recommend to anyone. Snobby owner with a attitude

Loving my new MXR Bass DI. This place has an excellent selection of new and used gear and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The owner seems to take his store very seriously while still maintaining a local music store vibe. This is my favorite place in town to shop for anything from sticks to strings to weird old used gear, and they even set up and repair instruments.Highly Recommend.

Great group of employees. I went in for a guitar, after learning to play the ukulele this year. I didnt know exactly what I wanted but the three gentlemen who were there were knowledgeable and patient. I also told them I had a mid size budget and they that helped me stay within that which was very much appreciated. I walked out with a guitar I really love and a few accessories I needed. I took definitely be back!

They were very helpful and polite. A good selection of instruments at fair prices. They were happy to let me try out any instruments I might be interested in and I may return soon to buy a flute.

Dealing with Mountain Music is perhaps the worst experience Ive ever had with a place of business. I brought my guitar amp here about 8 months back. They have no record of me being there even though the repairman does (according to their hand written log book). They pretty much told me the TN 90 day policy on abandoned property covered them. I understand that legally they had a right to do whatever they wanted with my amp but i received no notice. Not only did they not fix the amp but now Im out 600$, and they had no interest in helping me figure out what happened or making this situation right. This screams shady and extremely poor business practices. Use extreme caution before supporting sketchy places like this, or do yourself a favor and support one of the other reputable, diligent, and respectful shops. Either way these guys wont be around long.

I forget what their names are .... But the guy that used to work at guitar center for years really worked with me and answered my questions. Also, they really worked with me on trading in my guitar. Would highly recommend these guys!!

I was able to rent to own my keyboard from Mountain Music. It was very easy and convenient. The staff was very knowledgeable and not pushy. The environment is very welcoming. I was encouraged to try out any of the instruments to make sure it was a good fit for me. I would recommend Mountain Music to anyone looking for quality and individual service.

Great Customer Service. I dropped in today to have a mouthpiece pulled out of my sons Trumpet. The folks there were incredibly helpful and nice. They pulled the mouthpiece while we looked around at all of the great instruments they have in stock. I would recommend this store for anyone needing musical instruments or supplies in Chattanooga.

Darren saved the weekend for me...was recently at the Head of the Hooch regatta with the Boone Braves rowing team from Orlando and realized I had forgotten to bring our spirit drum - its virtually the only thing the athletes can hear while out on the water. Darren was awesome on the phone; I drove to his shop and he rented me a marching band bass drum and mallet (they heard that alright!) AND came and picked the drum up from me at the venue Sunday because his shop closes on Sunday!! Truly incredible value and service! I cant thank you enough, Darren!

I took a Telecaster there for set-up and adjustments after another Local store in East Ridge completely screwed it up , Attention to detail was exceptional.Price was reasonable. Finished in 24 hours, Not a week like the other places. Will be taking other guitars there for any other work or adjustments in the future.

Very poor customer service. I was just trying to buy a cello string for my brother, and the person Im guessing is the owner acted like we were an inconvenience to him as we payed his rediculously high price for a mediocre string. The other customers in the store were more helpful and knowledgeable than the owner was.

I had an issue with my flute an brought it into mountain music and they fixed it up right away and even showed me how they did so, all for no charge! These guys are great and the shop is super welcoming and full of awesome inventory! I would highly recommend this place to any musician definately worth stopping in! I had attempted to sign my 11 year old son up for guitar lessons through Mountain Music and left a message with my contact information and why I was calling. No one ever returned my call and when I called back 3 WEEKS later, the owner, I assume, named Darren was less than helpful and unapologetic. He was very condescending and offered no explanation for not returning the call. Once I got the info and schedule, he said we could begin lessons when I gave him my credit card info and I would be billed monthly for the hour long weekly lessons. I was in my car and told him when I got back to my home, I would call and give him my credit card info but when I called, I got the answering machine. I left a message saying that I was calling to give him my credit card info. A week went by and I called once again to get a smug response from Darren, saying, I did not get a message. Finally, we were to begin lessons today at 3;30. When my son and I arrived at 3;20pm, there was a handwritten note on the door that said, Back in a Minute. Five minutes later, Darren opened the door and I told him who we were and that we came for lessons with Lee. He called him and left a message saying that we were there and we missed last week but came this week?? I immediately said, we were not scheduled for last week due to his lack of returning my call. We patiently waited until 3:50 and were not given an apology or explanation. I finally left, absolutely disgusted by the lack of professionalism and disregard for a customer! Darren was so unprofessional, rude, insensitive and insincere! My son cried when we got into the car and I cannot tell you how hurt I was for him and disgusted I was with the way Darren handled this situation! I will never return to that so called business establishment and I highly suggest that no one patron this establishment!

Worst experience in a music store, the moment I walked in the owner huffed and puffed and complained and treated me like an idiot, he was insulting and demeaning and honestly if I wanted to be treated like that Id just go to the dmv. Honestly I’ll be taking any business I have elsewhere from now on
