I am a first responder in the Chattanooga area. Ill be honest, I really didnt want to talk to anyone about what Ive seen and been through. I made an appointment at Phoenix Health only to appease those in my life who think Im struggling with things. I went into my first appointment with the mindset that no one will get me. I was wrong. Janelle took time to learn about my job and the stress of it. She didnt rush me through the difficult parts. She explained trauma and the options better than anyone ever has to be me before. I gave her a chance because of her first responder volunteer positions. It is clear, she truly cares about mental health, first responders, and healing from trauma. I have no hesitation in recommending her and her team to any responder, to any person for that matter. Shout out to Sarah Beth, who is the first responder coordinator, who went above and beyond for me. These two ladies have been needed in Chattanooga for a long time.

As a patient of Janelle’s since she opened her practice, I can truly say Janelle is 110% committed to her patients & work as a provider. It’s clear she’s not only extremely knowledgeable but dedicates herself to finding what works best for each patient. I would definitely recommend her and many other providers of Phoenix Health to my friends and family.

I have been struggling the past few months to try to find and set up an appointment with a psychiatrist in Chattanooga. Phoenix Health, PLLC is the first office I have been in touch with that seemed concerned with promptly getting me in for an appointment and with their customer service. The receptionist I spoke to was absolutely a pleasure to talk to and she definitely knew what she was talking about despite only having started there recently. I greatly look forward to my future relationship with this company.

Mental health is a unique healthcare field that requires not just professional knowledge and training, but demands commitment at a personal level. Janelle and all the providers who work at Phoenix are there because they understand that. The first responder community is fortunate and thankful to have an ally like Phoenix. I know for a fact they have made a difference in countless lives, some of which may not be around today had it not been in part for their intervention. There will always be dissatisfied people, and those are unfortunately, usually the more vocal ones. Although interestingly enough, one of the negative review is evidently from someone whose only connection to Phoenix is a friend who used to work there... I have been to Phoenix on several occasions and it has always been a positive experience. I trust them and highly recommend them.

I wish there was an option to give a 0 star. A close friend of mine worked for this company and Janelle continued to show a lack of care for both her patients and employees (unless she favored them). She will cancel without notice and barely shows up to her practice. It will not be long until this place tanks so please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to where your mental health will be actually taken seriously and cared for.

Janelle is a very compassionate mental healthcare provider who has been a true blessing to me. She is attentive, takes the time to listen, and never makes me feel like I am wasting her time. I would absolutely recommend. Additionally I want to add, the work that her and her team do in our community for our first responders is such a blessing for our community.

Out of all the doctors I’ve ever seen and currently see, Janelle and her staff are the only ones that make me feel like they are actually listening to me and helping me. They are taking necessary steps without having to throw medication after medication at me. I have found the best of the best!!!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. A family member of mine decided to go somewhere else because of Janelle’s (the owner) lack of concern. She acts like she cares but she’s only in it for the money. She was all the time cancelling appointments or rescheduling them. Then the “practice manager” would reschedule her and not inform of the new appt, and then obviously my cousin didn’t show. Then she was charged a $50 no call no show fee. Apparently this has happened to a lot of patients. Her meds were all the time not getting filled in a timely manner, so the front desk girl would have to call them into the pharmacy (which shouldn’t even be her job). It’s honestly ridiculous that this place is still in business. And it’s sad because Chattanooga doesn’t have many options. I urge you, PLEASE go somewhere else. Do not waste your time or money.

EMDR is the bomb. Im glad I finally found real care here in Chattanooga. Im very sensitive and really dont want to try medication yet and I was respected for that and not pushed to try something Im not comfortable with. EMDR is a way to get over the bad stuff so you can enjoy the good stuff. This place rocks!

Apparently all the reviews revealing the truth behind this terrible place got deleted. So I guess I will have to submit another one. This practice deserves to be shut down !These people believe that they can do whatever they want to whoever they want. I was treated terribly when I started to get aggravated because my medication was not being refilled in a timely manner and I kept running into this issue. And the “practice manager” said I needed an appointment in order to get my meds which is completely understandable but the only reason I had not been seen in so long is because my provider kept canceling our appointments at the last minute and I was supposed to rescheduled and never was.Just terrible people honestly. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to be seen here. Honestly how they sleep at night is beyond me.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone and especially first responders. They have helped myself and many friends of mine with our experiences in what we deal with on a daily call, yet are very professional dealing with our schedules.

I have been a patient for well over a year now and I am now in the process of finding a new mental health provider. This has been a long process seeing as how mental health in Chattanooga is extremly sparse and you need a referral to get into places and even then its months before you can be seen- so until then I am having to stick with this business if that is even what you want to call this place. For a year now they have had phone problems that never seem to be fixed because no one ever answers the phone. The only luck I have had is reaching the front desk girl. Medications are to be requested a week prior to running our per their policy but even with ample time somehow medication still is never sent in on time. Appointments are never as long as theyre supposed to be and along with that I been swapped 3-4 different times to different providers because they are not able to keep staff. The only person who has ever showed compassion is the front desk lady- the providers and office manager are a JOKE to say the least. GET IT TOGETHER.

Phoenix Health is a great one-stop facility. Janelle Edmondson has built a staff of qualified medication providers and an awesome group of therapists. Doug Kinnard and Anna Kate Needham are therapists who are trauma-trained and are ready to meet clients where they are! You will not go wrong with this establishment!

As a provider, I refer my patients to Janelle because I know she will give my patients alternative options and the compassionate care required for healing. She has been such a blessing to many of my patients.
