Our two Oversized dogs (Male Rottweiler and Female Bernese Mountain Dog) are welcomed like the loving dogs they can be. I feel that they receive personalized care. I do NOT feel financially exploited. They receive Excellent quality Vet services with loving and well trained employees.

All associates at Capital Illini treat each pet like they were their own from the front desk to the office to the technicians and of course the doctors!

I would highly recommend Capitol Illini Vet, every time I have taken my dog there Dr. McCall has been so wonderful and so are the techs and front desk staff. Dr. McCall always goes thru the prices of all the tests with me and understands that I want the best for my dog but I do not have endless funds. Every time I have been there, during an emergency situation or a general check up they have always worked with me to provide the best options for my dog. We called Capital Illini in Chatham for an emergency for our dog. Our regular vet was unexpectedly closed, and our dog was very sick. They got him seen immediately, and they saved his life. In addition, the communication between the vet, staff and our family was above and beyond thorough and helpful. They were professional, timely, and empathetic. Thank you so much for saving our dog.

New in town and with a suddenly VERY sick 12 year old poodle, they got me in on the same day and provided excellent care for a fairly serious infection. They even called in the following days to ensure that Porter was on the road to recovery. They definitely took care of my pup like he was theirs, and I am grateful.

I had gone to several vets before finding Capital Illini. They’re wonderful and reasonably priced! I have taken all 4 of my pets there. They take the time to discuss all of the needs of your pets and also take the time to answer any questions. Our cat was put on fluids 3 times a week and they took the time to show/teach me exactly how to administer the fluids to him at home. They go through each and every detail Including cost with you before performing the care/procedures. Not like other vets who often just do it under assumption and don’t discuss pricing or even what they’re doing. I love Capital Illini in Chatham and plan to take my pets there for many years to come!

Really not one visit in particular, just an all around review. This is where we take our Thor. They are friendly, genuinely care about their clients, and will be there for you / furbaby when needed. As much as they can. They do their best to accommodate schedules and Thor lets them cut his nails, but wont let me. LOL I have to ask them to teach me, I think.

I have been going to Capitol Illini for over 20 plus years but I will have to say I can no longer afford the services. I recently took my two dogs for a wellness exam and one was given a 1 year rabies vaccine and the other a 3 year rabies vaccine. I walked out with an almost $300 bill. I have noting but great things to say about the vets and staff but you have got to do something about your pricing. I know places have to make money but the markup on these services is way too high.

Dr. Antonini is wonderful. He talked to me about my elderly cats issues in a manner I could understand and laid out the options going forward. Hes also kind.

When I lived in Springfield, we took our kitty to Capitol Illini on Wabash. My experience there was so good, that when we moved out of town, I didnt even care to research other vets. I have been taking my cats to Capitol Illini for many years and have nothing but positive things to say about their services and professionalism The doctors there take their time with your pets and treat them like queens. Always easy to get timely appointment and you never suffer wait time beyond your appointment time. I must acknowledge that they are on the pricey side compared to their vet services but the quality of service is outstanding.

You all were great. I cant think of anything that could have been done better. Everyone did great trying to make Chief feel more comfortable and not scared. Not an easy thing since he is almost 110 lbs. Lol. Thank you so much!

Had to have a furry friend put down yesterday...they stayed open for us so that we could have the poor kitty looked at then sadly...put down....the staff and doctor we extremely kind and understanding. I plan on having them if I can be my cats vet. I highly recommend this place and its staff to any one who needs a vet for regular services or emergencies. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Dr McCall and his staff provided specatular service for our dog, Olive==even thru the Coronaviris time. She desperately needed a growth on her eye lid removed, but she is pretty old, - Dr McCall had her minor procedure done and back to our car in less than 45 minutes. Olive has been going to see Dr McCall at Capitol Illini in Chatham since she was just a baby pup. We feel like family when we are there! Thank you

This is my absolute favorite vet to go to. You can tell they actually love animals and care about them from the receptionist to the vet! I brought my lab in that had ripped off her toe nail and I wasnt quite sure how she would handle the vet since she hasnt been since she was a puppy. They took the time to pet her and make her feel comfortable instead of just throwing a muzzle on her and getting done quickly.They have a vet there who is so quirky and fun, he examined my dog and spoke to her so she felt more comfortable. He is an absolute treat, I wish I knew his name!If you need a vet definitely go here, you cant beat the quality service they give you!

The dogs actually get excited to walk into the office! They (and we) love getting greeted by the team. The staff is so caring. Its nice to feel like they know you and your pets on a personal level.

Been going here now for 18 years, through two dogs and three cats. Cant imagine going anywhere else. Some people say theyre expensive. I really have no frame of reference, since this is the only place Ive ever gone, but I will say that if they are expensive, theyre worth what you pay. My dog actually loves going to the vet, despite all the poking and prodding, because she genuinely gets loved on by the entire staff.

This is the most knowledgeable and caring staff at any vet clinic I have ever been to. I have had cats my whole life and have lived in numerous locations all over the country. I would recommend this establishment even if the cost doubled everyone!

They have been wonderful to my two cats. The prices are what I was paying where I used to live. The doctors are kind, informative and treat you and your pets with respect.

Experience was great! It was the first, I expect, of many. The doctor and staff was just wonderful, facilities neat and clean, care was gentle and comprehensive.

I have an old uncooperative tom cat that doesnt get out much. Dr McCall was amazing and made sure I knew what was going on & didnt flinch when Pooks shared his unhappiness with the situation. Everything was done with professionalism as well as compassionately. Assistants were just as kind. The follow-up call day after explained results and suggestions for prevention, even better than my own personal physician. I would suggest Dr McCall & staff to any pet lover!

I have been taking my dogs to Capitol Illini for 25 years. First in Springfield, then in Chatham. They saved my Keeshonds life when she was 2 years old and she lived to be 13. When we had to put her down, Dr McCall was still stroking her fur when we left. When my beagle developed lymphoma and had difficulty walking on linoleum, they always had a rug down for her so she felt safe. When we had to put her down, they had a soft blanket for her in the room. (she loved soft stuff) and they all had tears in their eyes. Wouldnt take my dogs anywhere else.

We have used Capital Illini since 1974 when we got our first pet. They are always thorough and considerate. They have helped many of our pets cross the rainbow bridge.

Have always found the technicians and staff very friendly, patient and understanding. The clinic has an area for cats and one for dogs. It has always been very clean and free of odor. Love - Love - Love - Drs. Dunphy and McCall who are very special, caring and knowledgeable. They explain what they are doing and how to treat your baby if your pet requires medication or treatment.
