I contacted Bristles Hair Design and Day Spa to do Bridal Hair and Make up for my daughter’s wedding. Cat Bristles quickly responded and worked with us to schedule not only hair and make up for the bride and wedding party, but also a pre wedding “spa day” for myself and my daughter. She is truly a professional who is extremely polite, flexible and leaves no detail to chance. While wedding planning can be stressful, working with Bristles Hair Design And Day Spa was enjoyable and we are 100% confident that they will not disappoint.

Please go to a woman named Alison (shes amazing) kind hearted and does a beautiful job. She helped bring my hair back from a horrible experience elsewhere. On time, professional and ready to jump into action to help in anyway. Zero complaints!Go ahead and book an appointment; you wont leave here being disappointed!

Allison did a much-needed haircut for me today and cleaned up my split ends and did some lovely soft layers. She did an excellent job of texturizing it as well to get some heavy weight off of my thick hair! The whole facility was immaculate and all of the employees were friendly, courteous, and professional. Thanks again Allison!

Have spent thousands of dollars to be a simple, bright blonde. Had my hair damaged and ruined back in December by a hair salon in Stonefield and on several other occasions by people who couldn’t give me basic highlights. Courtney Berry brought me back to life and now my blonde hair is extremely healthy and NATURAL looking. Every penny I paid was worth the outcome. I won’t be going anywhere else in Central Virginia thanks to Bristles!!

Sorry to say that this Salon is the least reputable of all! When you pay $237 and dont get all over color and anything else other than a trim, thats unprofessional and a rip off or at the least a total scam! I wish I could share pictures of what I paid $237 for... color on top and sides over dark blond color, gray/blue on my roots on the sides snd top - I didnt have a gray hair on my head. Its platinum - this nuance escaped her- and a trim on sides and back.No style just a trim of what I already had. Didnt even trim my bangs - something that I did. Disappointed doesnt even begin to share my feelings. Apparently todays hair styes and coloring is lost on this Salon. She needs to go to N.Y. or Chicago to learn how to color and style hair if they are going to charge these prices. When I asked how much it would be she said shed figure it out. Dont go to this Salon! Go anywhere elseYoull be happier!

Wow, so glad I made an appointment. Diana was PHENOMENAL. Perhaps the most thorough and professional stylist Ive ever had. I came in with a long, fried, overgrown-color mess, and was just hoping for it to be better when I left. I was SHOOK. Its GREAT. Way beyond my expectations and somehow exactly what I wanted when I was never really able to articulate it. Shes magic, yall. All the staff makes the environment fun and welcoming--make an appointment!

If you have hair on your head you need this salon in your life. I had an appointment with Nicci and not only was she fun to talk to but she did an AMAZING job. My hair was yellowish blonde and just over all dull and boring. I showed her one picture and she took care of it. I have never sat down in a hairstylist chair before and said I trust you and mind you this was the FIRST appointment that I had with Nicci. I had been here about 10 years ago before I started coloring my hair and the salon was great then too. I love my cut that she did too!I just really cant say enough about this salon. It is more exspensive than a few other salons in the area but let me tell yall- Ive used those salons and I would rather pay the prices for amazing looking hair! Its worth leaving the salon happy. Thank you!

Casey King is quite literally a hair magician! I walked in with faded bland color (hello, quarantine life) and in DESPERATE need of a haircut. Ladies, Id been sitting down in stylists chairs for over a decade saying just clean up the ends please. I finally was brave enough to try something new and wanted to take my uneven, split ended, mid back length blonde hair to a fun, shoulder length choppy look... I have NEVER loved my hair so much!I showed Casey one picture and she said she had it covered, boy did she! My hair is flirty, and layered, and just fun! She was really fun to talk to and after 15 years at Bristles, clearly had a ton of experience. She got my blonde highlights, midlights and lowlights perfectly the first time (this never happens, I have incredibly unpredictable, ashy blonde hair). I feel like a new person walking around with an extra bounce in my step and treated myself to a new luxe curling iron, because in all honesty, this new hair deserves to be taken care of! :)Casey, you are the absolute best!!! Thank you!

As Mother of the Bride I can And I would without a doubt recommend Bristles as your number one choice for you wedding. The group of women that came to our location on my daughters wedding day far exceeded my expectations. They had 12 ladies to do hair and make-up on that perfect day. They came in and got started right away. They took each individual persons requests and executed them flawlessly! They worked as a team, they were professional and fun! They were a huge part in making my daughters dream wedding a perfect reality!

From the time I opened the door for my first visit, it was warm and so friendly. Stephanie was so patient with me and as I was not sure what to do with my hair. Stephanie discussed my texture, length, and from there it was a breeze. I was really impressed from start to finish. I actually really loved my hair style for the first time in a very long time. Went to Bristles for the first time on New Years Eve because my daughter gave me a gift card for Christmas for Bristles. I saw Tori Burton who my daughter had recommended. She was awesome! She has a great personality and was able to do exactly what I was hoping to accomplish which was get rid of my graying roots and blend highlights into my existing hair color that looked natural and fantastic! I highly recommend Bristles because the staff made me feel special and important from the receptionist to the stylist! I definitely plan to go back !

I highly recommend Bristles for ladies with curly hair. Tabbitha cut my (very) curly hair and I have never had a better haircut. She clearly knows what she is doing and she is very professional and competent. In addition to a great cut, she recommended products that have worked wonderfully for me. I am moving out of state soon but I would travel back to Bristles because I have found that it is very difficult to find a salon who cuts curly hair well.

As always my visit was a wonderful one. I am always greeted so warmly which is a great start to my appointment. CeCe does such a marvelous job with my hair which is no mean feat. I give her very little to work with as my hair is fine and thin. To top this off as I was leaving another patron pointed to my hair and said it was stunning. I had to give credit to CeCe, of course, but it still made me feel like I looked great as I walked out. Thanks Bristles for making me feel special.

Its pricey but worth it!! The front desk staff makes you feel so welcome, like youre part of the family. Ive tried so many salons in town but couldnt get the right cut. My hair is dark blonde, fine, and wavy. Then I found Stephanie. She is fantastic!! She listens to what I say and also offers suggestions and ideas, which I really appreciate. Definitely the best cut Ive had in Charlottesville over the last 15 years!!

Very nice staff. Great results. It is pricey--check how much your service is before you make an appointment. It may be worth knowing you are going to get a good result though. I will definitely go back when I want to splurge.

I recently moved to Charlottesville from Utah. My hair and I have been at odds ever since then. I found Vanessa at Bristles and my hair and I have now found peace again. From my initial call to the salon to walking out after my hair cut, I could not have asked for a better and more pleasurable experience. When I called for an appointment they worked around my schedule and made sure to set my appointment up with a stylist that could handle long, thick, curly hair. Their location is easy to find and convenient. Vanessa, my hair’s new best friend, met me at the front desk and then sat down with me and talked about what I wanted. After my amazing, wash, cut, and style I felt great. The front desk was friendly and gave me a nice gift bag for my first visit. I am so happy I found Bristles!

My first time at this salon (my third try in the area), and I was a bit nervous. They were very welcoming and professional and DEE did a fantastic job on my color, cut and blow dry! I thought the price was comparable to the other salons, and will definitely go back to Bristles and Dee!

I recently moved to Charlottesville, VA from Dallas, Tx. One of my greatest concerns was finding an up-to-date hair salon with creative, quality stylists. My daughter suggested Bristles salon. Thank goodness for the recommendation as Bristles stands head and shoulders with my previous Dallas salon. They provide talented hair stylists, quality professional hair products and a friendly welcoming environment.

I love Bristles! I am so sad to be moving away from the area. I would love to pack Maya on the moving truck with me to Ohio! Maya always listens to what I want and really takes her time in completing my look. I get all over color and my hair cut by her on a regular basis. Its hard for me to say which she does better, color or cut! I never feel that I am being rushed out of the salon for the next appointment and the front desk staff is fabulous to work with! Be sure to ask for Maya when you call :)

I wish I could post a picture of what was done to my hair, and the picture I showed of what I wanted. It was the most disappointing experience of my entire life! At the end I thought that it was poorly done, because it was just the trial run and they would not charge the same price it would be charged for my weeding day, but I was so wrong. They charged me full price for a hairdo that I could not even go out for dinner with my husband when I got home.Sent an e-mail complaining and with the pictures, and instead of giving me a refund or inviting me to go back, Katya Cole just replied: We are sorry you were not happy with the result. Good luck on your wedding day. And I drove 100 miles, 2:30 hours each way, paid 225 dollars for the most heartbroken experience of my life.

For the very expensive price one would expect to leave very Happy, skills of all the stylists should be up to par but instead they share on FB the work of the one or two awesome stylists they have then when you get there they put you with stylists not up yo date that cant perform none of the advertisement

Vanessa Evans did my hair and makeup for my wedding on May 7th. She did the most amazing, gorgeous hairstyle (high bump with a sweet side braid) and my makeup was friggin flawless. I received compliments all night from friends and family. You could tell Vanessa is a perfectionist and cares about the details. Thank you so much for making my day so special!
