Called at 4:30pm after realizing I had locked my keys in the trunk of my car (1970 Chevelle.) Tim was here before 5pm and had my trunk opened by 5:30. Very difficult car to open given the age. Tim was great and took extra car not to damage my treasured Chevelle! Nice job Tim!

I have an antique wardrobe that has locked and unlocked until this last time when it would not unlock. Tim arrived timely, was knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. He was able to unlock the wardrobe, but had to break the key to do so. No worries--he took the antique lock with him, repaired the key, and brought other skeleton keys that also worked to lock and unlock the wardrobe. The lock works beautifully again. Ordered a lock box and it came with the key locked inside. I was pretty hopeless bc it was a tubular lock but they got it open in about 10 minutes, and they didnt charge me anything! They are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. I bought a couple of things too just because they were so amazing. Would absolutely recommend for any problem you have as it is clear to me they are good, honest people who want to help.

If I could give Tim from Albemarle 6 stars I would. I had just moved to Charlottesville & locked myself out of my new town home rental. I had gone out to my back porch - barefoot - without realizing the door knob could be turned from the inside as if unlocked meanwhile actually being locked when turning the knob from the outside. Tim answered the phone call immediately, even though he was unlocking someone elses door, said he would call back in a couple minutes, which he did. He came to my house in ~10 minutes (he gave a 20 minute estimate), was empathetic, and popped open my lock in less than 60 seconds. He was very forthcoming with suggestions as to how one can avoid getting locked out and various products I could consider in the future if I thought it may be a recurring issue. It was an excellent experience. Tim was superb with his customer service and IF I get locked out again, I would look forward to working with Albemarle & Tim.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING service!!! I went to Albemarle Lock & Safe with what I thought was a straightforward problem. I needed a second key fob for a recently purchased vehicle. Turns out it wasnt so straightforward. Thinking it was done, I went home and discovered the following morning that my car couldnt detect the new key fob and so I couldnt start the car with it. So I gave them a call, told them the issue, and returned later that day. I was SO impressed with Steven, the gentleman helping me. He approached the problem with remarkable determination, patience, and tenacity and kept at it until he solved the problem! Most others would have given up and sent me to the dealership but not Steven ... he kept at it and just wouldnt give up until he had it taken care of. The level of service I received is INCOMPARABLE. In addition, since I was there for awhile, I had an opportunity to interact with several employees and I found them all to be personable and down to earth. I will never go anywhere but Albemarle Lock & Safe in the future. WELL DONE!!!

Jared came to install a couple locks and rekey. The service was prompt and at a competitive rate, and Jared was polite and informative. He did a great job.

Took a worn ignition switch to them to be rebuilt at 12 noon and to my shock had it back to me by 4P the same day. I brought it home and it worked perfectly. You do not see that level service often. I am truly impressed and highly recommend.

Capable, friendly service. I dropped in, they programmed 2 automotive key fobs and cut 2 physical keys for me, all in under 5 minutes.

The knoblock and deadbolt for my front door was in pretty bad shape. At times the door jammed and wouldnt open. Tim Holt from Albemarle Lock and Safe dropped by and replaced both of the locks. The new locks are solid and slick as BUTTER. Tim was a down-to-earth friendly guy and a master of his craft. 10/10 all the way.

I purchased a new key-fob for a 2018 Chevy Impala LT with push button start and remote start online for $40 and they cut the key-blade to match the car and used a computer to pair the key-fob with my car for $95. Together it cost me $135 total to get a new key-fob for my car, this was much cheaper than what the dealer wanted. The process took about an hour. This is longer than most cars would need but its how this model of car is and i knew that before hand.

Lost my only car key while visiting Staunton. The technicians didnt take long to get to my vehicle, cut and program the key, and get my 2012 Chevy back on the road.

Keys were cut quickly and accurately (which is more than I can say for the last place that cut keys for me). The best part? The store dog who just wants you to play with him the entire time youre there! Ill never go to another key/lock place if Albemarle Lock is open (unfortunately many of my lock issues happen on Sundays, why is that?).

Best customer service Ive had in a long time! An elderly friends remote lock fob was not communicating to the lock mechanism. They asked a couple of questions, ascertained the problem, and sent us a new fob. Fast, friendly, and caring. Recommend them over anyone else in the area.

I lost my keys somewhere in my house, after looking for them everywhere in the house for a week, I figured I must have thrown them away. I called 3 mobile locksmiths and left messages, no call back, not even on Monday, when I figured I would be contacted. I asked Renny at the Palmyra Ace Hardware if they could do my car key, and he said to call Albemarle Lock and Safe, I did, they answered, and said if you bring the other key and your car to them, it will save the trip charge. The dealer wanted $200+ to replace the key and program it, Albemarle Lock and Safe charged $110. Because these mobile locksmiths dont return calls, if I need a locksmith, Ill use Albemarle Lock and Safe.

Tim did a great job. He was patient and thorough in explaining the work, and had it done the same afternoon. Will definitely be calling on him again the next time we need work done.

I didn’t actually use this company yet. But long story short lost the keys to my car. Spoke with a very nice guy named Jerald. He told me what they could do to help with a couple of different options on new keys. Referred a couple of towing places (my car would need to be towed to their shop). Got back with me on the cost of everything within 15-20 minutes after speaking with him. Very attentive and professional, super friendly and answered all of my panicked questions lol! I am definitely going to use them next week to make another set of keys which actually is at a reasonable price. I did find my keys so didn’t have to use their service today.

I’ve used this company for multiple lock issues for more than a year now. I do building maintenance in Charlottesville and have had experience with multiple lock companies in the area. This is the only place I call now. The employees are friendly And make quality repairs. My most recent experience was was with a young man who had to come pick a lock in freezing temperatures. After a couple of failed key sizes, we finally hit on the right one and made sure they worked in the motorcycle. Only charged me for the price of the correct keys, not the failed ones. Tim Holt from Albermarle Lock and Safe did a great job replacing one cylinder and re-keying two existing locks on a house I just bought in town and wanted to refresh the hardware devices ( AKA Dead-Bolts etc.) before moving myself, my family and our belongings into. He was super fast (this is the take-away folks, he did everything way quicker that it would have taken me to buy new locks at a box store. Im not even factoring in me attempting to install them in doors already drilled and routed) and seriously, this was very, VERY reasonable. Cheap enough that I will not hesitate to call these folks for any lock-type issues in the future. The shop is professional and they set me up with an appointment ASAP and Tony was there twenty minutes early. Plus he was super pleasant and organized. And me smiled alot. Hey, here you go, heres your locksmith right here. Do what I did, get on your bicycle and ride down there and set up a thing to get what you need done.
