We had A-1 clean our carpets prior to putting our house on the market. We have two dogs that make our carpets VERY dirty - you can easily tell which rooms they spend the most of their time in by the discoloration of the carpet. Setting up the appointment was quick and easy and Joe was able to come out the same week. Service was quick and efficient and the carpets look amazing! Long review but it’s worth the read:I cannot say enough good things about A-1 Carpet cleaners. From the responsive scheduling to the thorough carpet and rug cleaning. We are in the military and have used many carpet cleaning companies around the US. We have 3 pets (cat + 2 large dogs) and 2 kids (potty training age and infant). We only rented this house for a year, but by the time we were ready to move out you could see outlines of all the furniture and the carpet was 10x darker in high traffic areas. Joe was so knowledgeable on what works and why. He didn’t try to upsell you on nonsense and he graciously gave me some discounts after discussing all the rugs and carpet needs. I rented a 1900sq ft house and ~1500 of it was carpeted. I knew this was going to be a dirty job. I even saw the water being drained after he was finished and let’s just say red clay dirt is not pet friendly.I warned Joe that this isn’t our first rodeo with renting and landlords often try to take our deposits. They claim that the pet odor is still too strong or they need us to pay for more cleanings (one made us clean 3x). He promised the carpets would look better than before we moved in and he was right!! I got a phone call that same week saying they were going to return our deposit and they were so thankful for how well we took care of their house. Mind blown is an understatement. Stop searching and just pick Joe!

She was able to give me a very well priced quote and schedule an appointment very quickly. When I made my appointment, I was given a time frame of when Joseph would arrive between 9:30am to 10:30am. He called me a day of the appointment to say he would arrive at 9:45am. He arrived in the driveway at 9:44am. I was impressed by his punctuality. I showed him what had to be done. I called A-1 Carpet Cleaners bec/ my sofa had been in storage for months when I moved to Cville and it sprouted more than a few UNK spots. Also, I had smeared some squash into the seat, which really led me to think it was time to have professionals come in to take care of business.Michelle helped set up the appointment and it was super easy, received a confirmation email with preparatory instructions, and Joe with the giant white truck showed up on time. He took care of my butter yellow sofa and cleaned out all the crazy spots and a bunch of gratuitous pen marks all over. The original bright color seemed to have also returned! so Im really glad I called them to do right by my trusty couch. Now it smells nice too!I almost had them do tile and grout on the master bath but Joe made another recommendation that totally worked out. Saved beaucoup $$$. Adulting is hard. Dont over think it. I had A-1 clean a carpet in a rental I was leaving. The carpet had stains from the prior tenant that had resurfaced. They were able to get everything bright and clean without issue. Due to the professional equipment used the carpet dried quickly. I would use them again in a minute.

Arrived on time and did an absolutely amazing job! This is a locally owned and operated business. They were slightly more than the other franchise quoted but I had a feeling locally owned and operated would be better and boy was I right! The franchises upsell you on a bunch of stuff and half the time theyre there theyre trying to sell you stuff. Not A-1! They quoted me over the phone and then did an amazing job and charged less than the quote because I had measured a little strong. I recommend this company to anyone that asks!

My house smelled like smoke from the guys who did the cleaning and they cut every corner possible. A-1 provides the exact opposite of the franchise experience. My carpet was about as bad as it gets. Being so heavily sodded, replacement carpet was probably my best and only option. Decided to give A1 a call after seeing some good reviews on Google Plus. Talked to Michelle, told her what I needed done and she gave me a rough estimate over the phone, then preceded to set an appointment. Unfortunately on the appointment date I was at work all day and only my dog was home, Joe called me when he got there and I told him to put the dog on the back porch and see what he could do with my very dirty carpet. He told me he would take a look and get some measurements and call me back with a more exact price. Few minutes go by and of course he calls back, says that the carpet is pretty bad but he will do what he can, price is projected though to be more than originally estimated over the phone. I say okay go at it, not having high hopes for said dirty carpet. Couple hours go by and he calls me back and says okay Im done looks a lot better, also I let your dog back in. I say thanks a bunch, and wait to get out of work to check out what he was able to do. So I get home, open up my door and walk into the living room and turn on the lights. I am instantly rendered speechless at the sight of NEW carpet. But it wasnt new carpet, it was my OLD carpet that now looked brand new! I mean Im not a pessimist or anything but I did not expect Joe to be able to do much, the carpet was really that bad. He did an amazing job, wildly exceeding my expectations, and making me want to start telling everyone about him! And the fact that he does all the work himself? Who does that! He does because he wants every job to be at his standard. Which is a really high standard in my opinion, the best kind to have with a business like his. So anyways carpet looked amazing, expectations were exceeded, dog was skipping, etc...Oh and then he had to go and charge me for what I was originally told over the phone with Michelle, even though I gave the wrong dimensions to her. As a consumer, I am accustomed to being misled and lied to by big corporations and businesses that dont care about their customers, only money. A-1 does great work and most importantly he stands by his work. For the cost, he goes above and beyond compared to other carpet cleaners that we have used in the Charlottesville/Crozet area.
