I called Charlottesville Wrecker Services and was greeted with a friendly dispatcher. I didnt wait long for my tow to arrive. The gentleman was quick and very friendly. Thank you all for your kindness and patience.

My experience with this establishment started with an accident. Thr police offered to call the first available wrecker service. I advised the officer that I had AWD so that the correct wrecker would show up. When the driver got there he had a hook and chain tow truck and I politely let him know it was AWD. He gruffly responded with I know. When he hooked my vehicle up part of his equipment had a flat so he had to put air in the tire. He didnt speak to me for the duration of the experience and never supplied me with info on the business or the location to which my vehicle was towed. Thankfully I had the foresight to give the info from the side of the truck to my insurance agent, whom I was on the phone with. The accident was Friday, on Monday I tried to call and have the vehicle released to my insurance company. Thr lady that answer answer phone was unpleasant and just as gruff as the driver had been on Friday. I asked her 3 times during the call to release the vehicle to which her response was I needed to come get ALL on my personal effects from the vehicle and remove my license plates before it could be released to the insurance company. Later that day my insurance representative called and she was told I had never called and released the vehicle to them. In addition when she asked for information about the storage fees the representative helping her protested having to get up from her desk to retrieve the information for her. Upon being told I had not released the vehicle my agent called me. When I called back I was told it was after hours and I would have to call the following day. When I asked if they could take a message for thr following day I was told that was not their practice. The following day I had a friend drive me the 30 minutes to their lot to speak them in person. When I asked why vehicle still had not been released to my insurance the lady acted like she didnt know what I was talking about l, but then again tried to pressure me into cleaning out my car and removing my license plates, which my insurance agent told me not to do unless they totalled it. The whole experience was over complicated, stressful and the most unprofessional experience I have with a tow company in my 20+ years of driving.

Great service. I called them when I was in need a tow to a mechanic shop - my car stalled out and wasn’t safely drivable. Charged me a flat $50 fee, so there might be cheaper services out there, but they were on site within 10 minutes (faster than my own insurance company’s roadside assistance). 5/5 for being incredibly prompt.

Wrecking Service arrived VERY quickly. Unfortunately, I delayed them, as I could not get back to my car and held Eric up for almost 10 minutes. He was very pleasant about it, and upbeat. Could not have been nicer. Rate was $80 to get from their place on High Street, out to Ivy to get my car, then back in town to Toyota on Pantops. Thought that was reasonable, but I dont have much experience with towing.

Lady see that picked up the call seems horrible. She hanged up on me without say goodbye. Not friendly at. So sad, I was going to give them a lot of business.

Had a bobcat stuck way down on a cliff in a massive hole. An awesome guy “Paul” and his partner came out got me right out! He said we’re gonna get you out and they did exactly that. Awesome people. I recommend them HIGHLY!

Needed a jump start at UVA. Came very quickly, driver was very nice and they charged $40 when Suburo roadside assistance was going to charge $87 and estimated it would tlar them 60-90 minutes to comeHighly recommend!

They take advantage of accident recovery!!!! Way over priced!!! Towed 4 miles for $1,500.00 plus storage.... Wouldnt come in on the weekend to release the trailer but still charged 2 days??? We also had to force them to take out driveshaft on a automatic truck. Tow driver said wouldnt hurt to go 4 miles. Almost had to have my driver stand in front of tow truck to force him to take it out. Very lazy!!!!! Never will use them again!!!!!

So they clearly take advantage of young inexperienced people by not telling them there is a 50/day fee to impound the vehicle. Then don’t even try to get in touch with them too see what’s going on if they don’t come be for it! So Mom has to pay 1200. Thanks a lot. So beware.

Absolutely terrible. I called asking for a tow, and when I asked the (surly) lady how long it would take for the truck to arrive, she said they would send one right out. Half an hour later (it was five below freezing by the way) no one arrived, so I called again for an update. She said that it was possible that the tow truck guy was still helping his previous customer. Im sorry, that is not what right out means. When I asked her if she knew how much longer it would be, she said she didnt know the exact status of the driver assigned to me, but, quote, if he cant make it well send someone else out. Seriously?? Apparently this business is so sloppily run that the dispatcher doesnt know the whereabouts of their trucks. And how is any of this implied by right out? I can understand a wait (cold night, probably lots of trapped motorists) but be honest with me. I told them to cancel my appointment, and she said fine and hung up. Fine indeed.The dumbest part was that she specifically asked that I wait outside by my car, because it was so cold and she didnt want her driver to have to search too long for where I was. Apparently such courtesy does not apply to the customer too.

Awesome Service!! Jeremy and Mark were friendly and very helpful!! We broke down on our way south and they went above and beyond getting our camper and truck to the service shop and even waited for the shuttle service from the hotel to pick us up. Would definitely recommend this company.

I called the Charlottesville Wrecker Service on the recommendation of my car dealer, who uses them all the time. The driver arrived promptly, was very pleasant, and took a lot of trouble carefully maneuvering my car onto his trailer from the awkward position it had stalled in. The cost of the service was very reasonable, especially considering the time it took him to load up my car, and the long distance of the tow itself (about 22 miles). I would recommend this company to anyone.

I wouldnt recommend these people to anyone. The customer service was non existent. We were JUST stranded on the side of the road and the lady was hardly understandable over the phone. She was very rude. Finally, the lady priced us on the phone and then when then the older man came to pick us up he hardly said a word and was acting really weird. Finally when we reached the destination to where the car needed to be towed; he said we owed $40 more than what was priced to us. He said we had to pay extra mileage bc he had to go out of his way to get to us. How is that our problem? They priced us at $40/hookupAnd $3/mile from where our car was to the final destination. When I addressed the issue with the price and questioned it, he threatened to keep our car until we pay up. We never said we wouldnt pay we just questioned why thePrice was so much higher than what she priced. I called in to the older lady and she started yelling at me when I told her the issue and questioned what was going on. I toldHer she needed to be more clear in pricing and not hide extra fees that MAY be added. She continued to yell so I hung up on her. We paid them all that was due, but I would never use them again. EVER. I would Rather walk home.

Awesome! My transfer case in my 1-ton dual-y exploded on I-64 on a Friday night and I had a loaded trailer in tow with total weight almost 30K lb. I called AAA and every wrecker service in the area. AAA failed, and no-one wanted to come out except for Charlottesville Wrecker (CW). All the other guys were either afraid, not qualified, or didnt care. CW dispatcher asked the specifics, contacted the drivers, and got the truck out to us right away. The driver was knowledgeable and professional. After hooking up he realized that he didnt have the capacity, so he called in another CW truck who came out. They hooked up, ran the long light cord to the rear of the trailer & off we went 70 miles to our destination - safe and sound without incident. A bonus too was the price was right! They have all sizes of trucks for any rig, but the one they used wasnt even that big - it was only a F 550! Those other guys hid behind their TV sets at home on a Friday night - Dont waste your time with any of them in the Charlottesville area - call Charlottesville Wrecker when you need a tow!

I have had older cars and have used Collier a couple over the last 3 years. There rates are fare and the employees have been very helpful and pleasant to work with.

This place is the worst. Really dont why and how they are still in business. I called the service regarding my car and spoke with different people. One female I spoke with sound like she was drunken I couldnt understand nothing she was saying. Another female I spoke to was very rude and disrespectful. The males that I spoke to were very nice and polite. The females that works for this company needs to be fired or find another job. Charlottesville wrecker always had a bad reputation and will continue to have one as long as they keep those nasty females working there.

I wish I could give them a BIG FAT 0 because they towed a truck that had a trailer behind it and jack knifed it 3 times and tore up the back fender of my truck and no dont want to pay for it. The women that answers the phone is very rude and dumb and I am not how they have stayed in business. They are a bunch of thieves over there so I would not recommend to my worst enemy

Terrible, terrible company. Charlottesville Wrecker took a week to tow my vehicle from a lot 2 miles away from their yard to a collision center. To top it off, the tower bent my key! I have no idea how that is possible without vengeful, severely aggressive intent [it seems like this sums up the entire company, thus far]. I wanted to alert potential customers to stay far, far away from Charlottesville Wrecker Services and instead patronize other towing companies in the area.

Timing belt sheared--I called in the afternoon to schedule a tow for the following morning, to Peacock Auto which is near them. Showed up on time, (let me ride with him) polite, reasonable and careful.

I was on my way to church on Sunday morning June 4th, with my wife and daughter. A radiator hose broke, so I call charlottesville wrecker at 7 AM. The lady said she would send someone right out. We were on I-64 near The Rivanna river bridge. We waited one half hour and a nice woman came by and offer to take my wife and child home, since the wrecker would not have enough room for all of us. It was 8 AM and the wrecker still hadnt arrived. I was only 5 minutes from their office. Another kind man stopped by and I asked to use his phone. I called again and she said that i was forgotten due to the shift change. She said she would send someone right out. I waited on the busy I-64 for one and one half hours. The driver that showed up was so apologetic. He said there was NO shift change and he was on call all morning waiting for calls. He could not believe what this woman put us through. This company is owned by Cosners on East High St. They are terrible!!! I would NOT recommend them to anyone.Very , very inconsiderate. The driver however, was GREAT! I wish I could give NO STARS.

I just couldnt believe how rude they were to both me and a friend AND told another tow company they couldnt release my car despite the fact the other tow truck was there while I called and released it to them. NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE. The older couple who I assume are the owners are TERRIBLE
