Fitch Services re-piped our entire house recently and the overall experience and level of workmanship exceeded our expectations. Technicians Jason and Chris are professional, friendly, experienced and knowledgeable and the Front Office staff are a pleasure to work with.Jason and Chris made over 200 perfect and solid connections; not one leak. We were so impressed by the care they took to protect our things with plastic and to minimize drywall dust. The quality of their work is just awesome and the cost was reasonable and competitive. We highly recommend Fitch Services and will call them for any future plumbing needs.

Outstanding service! Fitch has been my service provider for plumbing and HVAC over the last couple of years. Interactions with the owner, front office staff and technicians have always been positive. Two examples stand out: 1) When my sewage pump went out in my recently renovated basement, the technician recommended I go back to the contractor since the pump was less than a year old and should have been covered under warranty (which it was). The technician could have easily sold me another pump, but ended up saving me money. 2) Most recently, my ancient heat pump broke down. I told Mr. Fitch that I would only be staying in my house a couple of more years. Rather than upselling a more expensive model, he recommended one that was both energy efficient, and more affordable than the premiummodels. While good service can still be found, it is extremely hard to find a company with integrity, quality, work and customer service together. FITCH will continue to be my company of choice for my electrical and plumbing needs!

Very poor business etiquette with zero concern for customers well being. They have become more concerned about just getting in and out of home as quickly as possible and charging for anything and everything they can think of. Beware of the owner/sales man, he is a money hungry and was just handed the keys to his daddy’s company, which only made his thirst for money worse. They contract all of their big jobs out so pay close attention to the time they tell you a job will take and how quickly it gets done. The techs are good and do know their trades, unfortunately the poor business practices and management is hurting the quality of work.

Quick to call me back even on weekend. Tech was SUPER friendly and efficient. We will use them from now on!

Quality work but at a very high cost. You can shop around and find better deal and establish long term relationship that you can trust. I did number of jobs a decade ago with Fitch Sr. that was always affordable, fair and upfront.

We are considering adding an addition to our home and needed to know if the sewer pipe that exited the house was in the way of the proposed construction. Fitch Services sent a snake with an attached camera down the sewer cleanout and used a remote probe on top of the ground to find the direction and depth of the sewer pipe. Location of the sewer pipe was marked with blue paint and pink flags. Technicians Chris and Bradley did a SUPER job and were very professional!

Fitch Services offer a great staff front front desk to on-site technicians. They are quick to provide support any time of day. We’ve used them for maintenance and installing brand new heat pumps. They offer competitive prices with quality products. But more importantly, their staff makes all the difference. Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous team members make me come back to Fitch Services every single time.

By far the most expensive plumber we have ever used. They will charge you as much as possible for every part of the job.The first time we used them it was to install a new faucet at our tenants apartment. $250! We got an invoice weeks later and I couldn’t believe it. Before we got that invoice we had a technician come out to check a water filter we installed ourselves. He charged me $130 to come out and literally do nothing but tell us we installed it correctly.Next time I will be going with a different business. Be sure to get a quote before you get a service with Fitch.

Had a pipe leaking in our garage. Brent came out after-hours and pulled into our driveway 10 minutes after I called. He had the pipe repaired in under 5 minutes. He was very professional and kind. The cost was very reasonable, and the receptionist very helpful as well.

Great experience with the installation of a new water heater. Discussed what was wrong with the old one and alternatives for replacement. Techs were professional, courteous and willing to explain steps they were taking. Installation was done quickly and efficiently. You need to be able to trust people when you dont know about HVAC systems. From the service person to the scheduler to the installers and on to the owner, there is high level of competence at Fitch Services. More importantly, I never felt like I was being hustled into upgrading my system. I was given options, the pros & cons of each and had all my questions answered in terms I could understand. The service I received was outstanding.

We were selling our condo and needed to have our AC unit serviced, as there was a condensation line clogged. They were out within an hour of calling and serviced the unit. I knew of Fitch Services and their technicians via my place of employment. The technicians honest and forthright approach to their work was very much appreciated. Weve lived in our 80+ year old for about 2.5 years. From my experience with Fitch at my place of employment, they were initially contacted to come to our residence to address a clogged kitchen sink drain line. It was suggested to us we replace the drain line instead of snaking it. When the old drain line was cut out and shown to me, it was amazing anything had gotten through that line! Glad we chose to replace it. At the time of that work, we also inquired about replacing/updating all the galvanized supply lines in our home. Among other things, the old, galvanized pipe hot water lines in our second floor bathroom had very restricted flow. The scope of the work needed and how it would be done was discussed to make sure we understood where holes in the wall and ceiling would need to be made to access the work, the potential wed be without water for possibly 2 to 3 days depending if this or that happens, and what wed be responsible for, such as fixing/re-plastering the holes. We appreciated the honest assessment of how the project might or would go. All that was discussed before the estimate was put together. Once the estimate was received, my wife and I discussed it and agreed to move forward with the project without getting other bids. Again, all based on the work theyd done at my place of employment. While the technicians were on our project, they kept us updated with daily conversations towards the end of their working day. The technicians treated us both with respect and made sure all our questions were answered thoroughly. The finished project has been great! We were excited to finally have full flow of the hot water! Fitch is now our go to plumber.

Initially no showed, had to call to get them to show up at all, then late by 2 hours, guy said he was busy but it was supposed to be a 9am appointment. Had to wait over a week to get estimate paperwork. Paperwork was not complete and they refused to fix it despite being aware it would cost me substantial financial losses. No support in the way of email or returned calls from higher ups when you call to discuss. Would definitely call another company if I had known. They appear to be resting on prior reviews.

My Water Main broke at the worst possible time and I thought Id be without water for 3 days. I called a couple of 24 hour plumbers and they could not do the work. I called Fitch and they came out promptly with all the correct parts and installed a new water main shut off. Jason was a pleasure to have in my house. He was very professional and courteous. Fitch Services was great. They answered my call on Christmas when I was expecting to leave a message. Since my issue was not an emergency I asked them to call in the morning. They called that morning, came that afternoon when they said they would and were done in less than 30 minutes. The plumbers were very professional and friendly. Patty, who took my calls was also very friendly and helpful.

Company is first class and always aims to meet the requirements of their customers. Phones are generally answered by Patty--first rate approach to meeting needs and managing schedules.. Technicians are very competent, arrive on time, and provide good counsel and advice regarding plumbing/water services. Were not going to use any other plumber in CVILLE--why would we when are wants, needs, and expectations are met.

Even though the initial diagnosis was mistaken, the technician came back at no extra charge same day and correctly diagnosed the problem. Plus, the technician was unaffected by my 71 year old mother’s cranky, foul mood that day, which is impressive! Thank you for the emergency plumbing service. We appreciate you!

Fitch Services has done plumbing work for me (water heater replacement in restricted space requiring repiping of water meter). They did fantastic work and the cost was approximately 1/4 of the amount that the major plumbing companies in Charlottesville were asking for. You read that right: 25% of the cost for the exact same work (and they were flexible, allowing for me to purchase the water heater and handle delivery on my own). I am going to exclusively use them for plumbing going forward and will also try their electrical and HVAC service.

I wish I had found them sooner!!!! This company is amazing. Used them the first time six months ago when my well pump went out. They came out THAT DAY (three times, mind you), until they were able to figure out the problem, and then two of their technicians, who had the next day (Saturday) off, came back out at 7:00 a.m. to replace my well pump. Their service was excellent, and their prices were reasonable- much less than wed anticipated.Today (as of this writing), we had issues associated with our water (not due to their previous work- our house is more than a century old), and Jason, one of the techs who replaced my pump six months ago, was out here in less than an hour after I called, and we live half an our outside of town. He diagnosed and fixed my problem on the spot, and again, the price was half of what wed anticipated. I will NEVER call ANYONE other than FITCH for any of my plumbing, electrical, heating or cooling needs. I cannot recommend this company enough!

Had I known it would be this much trouble I would have gone with another company. Our AC hasnt been working which is when we called Fitch Services. Their technician came out to the house on Saturday to take a look at the unit. Turns out it required a part to be ordered, to which the technician said he would take care of it and they would be out to our place the following Tuesday to make the repair. Tuesday rolled around and no one showed up. After calling to see where the technician was, we were told the part had never been ordered and that they now had to come on Thursday to make the repair. Additionally, the technician quoted us a price of around $200-$250 for the part, but were later told the part would cost over $430. Fast forward to Thursday. The technician shows up only to inform us that they ordered the wrong part and will now have to come back on Friday to make the repair. I dont think I need to state how hot its currently been. I have two younger siblings who are bearing the heat in our house and am beyond disappointed with Fitch Services. The service has been unprofessional on multiple accounts. Never again after this repair is completed.UPDATE: I spoke with Chris regarding my concerns and this was handled in a respectful manner.

Last Christmas in 2017 our gas heating broke and we called Fitch Services. I believe, it was on Christmas Eve. I was surprised that Fitchwas open over the Holidays and I was happy that one of Fitchs employees came out to our house. My husband was very sick and onOxygen at this time and my husband was very cold as he lost a lot of weight during his illness but he wanted to stay at home over the Holidaysand not move to a hotel. We used space heaters and we were ableto turn on our fireplace but the temperatures dropped down extremelyat night during Christmas. Fitch promised to send someone to our house during Christmas and someone came. He inspected our heating and did not let us know what was wrong with our heating but he got it to work again. We were happy! He told me that if our heating would turn off again, I just have to turn on the main switch next to the gas heating that is located in our storage room under our roof. The heating worked for a week and exactly on New Years eve it turned off again. I tried to turn on the (red) switch next to the heating but it did not turn on again.I called Fitch Services again and another guy came on New Years Eve. He inspected our gas heating for about 30 minutes and he told me that we needed a new gas heating. He said that it was broken. He said that he would have to order a new gas heating that would cost about $7.000,00 but it would not arrive for another week or so. We were devastated. We paid for both visits from Fitch. I made many phone calls and fortunately we got in touch with a friend whose husband works for a gas heating company in Orange. He came over to our house on New Years Eve and inspected our heating and found out that a filter was dirty that need to be cleaned. He fixed the problem and our heating worked again for the entire winter and it is still working.I sent an email to Mr. Fitch and told him that someone fixed our heating and that it was only a clogged filter that needed to be cleaned. Mr. Fitch said that this would not be true and he still believed that we needed a new gas heating. However, our heating ran perfectly fine after the filter was cleaned. Sadly my husband passed away in January. The cold temperatures were definitively not good for his health but this was not the reason why he passed away. A few weeks after my husband died Mr. Fitch sent me an email to offer some financial support withour heating costs (expensive space heaters) for the time our heatingdid not work. He probably learned about my husbands death throughthe newspaper. I guess, he felt bad that either his employees could notfind out the real reason why our heating did not work or that they recommended that we needed an entire new gas heating as our heating is more than 10 years old. The fact is that our heating worked perfectly fine after our friends husband from Orange cleaned a clogged filter. Fitch Services never refunded the costs for their visits. I cannot recommend Fitch Services at all! I am extremely disappointed and my husband was too when he was still alive!

Fitch was discovered by me in an emergency on SIRI asking for a heating contractor they ultimatly replaced my hot water heater,and then my heater.I found them very reliable and professional.

I called on the fourth of July because of an emergency electrical problem at my house. Not just my AC being out but multiple circuits and concern a fire could start. The receptionist took my info and an electrician, Travis, called me back later. He explained he was short staffed but agreed to call me back on the 5th early and set up something for that day as an emergency. I took the day off of work. He didnt call at the arranged time (a 1 hour window). I called back and spoke with Amy in reception who told me she had no electricians available and that Travis was booked for the day. I will be sure people know what terrible service they provide. Spread the word.I see the owner chose to say I lied instead of address the issue. Travis did in fact explain he would call to arrange an appointment today. I understand the holiday and hot weather have things backed up. Had I known they couldnt do the job I would have called someone else yesterday and not missed a day of work. I have now been in touch with someone who can do the job.

Our oil furnace would not stay running. Fitch was able to fit us in to an appointment on short notice. (and this is their busy December time) Brandon observed the operation, made some adjustments, and had it running in one half hour. I will difinitely use Fitch again. Thanks Brandon

Fitch Services replaced our AC unit and we were happy with that work. However, when we hired them to install a kitchen sink and dishwasher, our experience was terrible. I work in carpentry and I know how much trade services should cost in terms of time and materials. Fitch Services way overcharged us. They billed 7 total hours and the hourly rate of four workers for a simple sink and dishwasher installation (and the sink was already in place). It cost us close to $800. We called Mr. Fitch and asked why the bill was so high, but did not receive a satisfactory explanation. Also, the work was sloppy and I had to go back and fix the caulking. Ive never been so ripped off.

As I also commented on both Facebook and Angies List this was a good experience. The service was performed as scheduled and well. There was a glitch in the billing (which can happen in any business) but their own people detected it and contacted me about it and took care of it on their own initiative. Greatly appreciated!

Called Fitch when my water heater wouldnt stay on. Service tech was timely, clean, polite, and courteous. Diagnosis was spot-on (needed to replace the ignitor). Tech left and said owner would call me back with price for the part.Owner didnt call back (that day). When I called shortly before 5, I was told the owner had left for the day. I happened to talk to a neighbor who had the exact part I needed, and they gave it to me, so I called Fitch back to see if they could come out the next day (and to cancel the part order that I presume had never been ordered since I was never given an estimate)Played phone tag for a bit with the receptionist who wanted me to talk to the tech. Eventually I talked to the tech, who didnt know why I needed to talk to him, since the receptionist maintained the schedule. Talked to the receptionist again, who was trying to get the tech to come out during his lunch hour.After no call back for a half hour, I called a different company who came out and replaced the part within a half hour of my call. Just received a bill from Fitch for the diagnosis and lack-of-estimate.

I called Fitch Plumbing for a leak just before a big snow storm. They arrived promptly as promised and completed the work in a timely manner, were friendly, cleaned up their mess and presented a reasonable bill. I recommend them.

Fitch Services did our recent Air Conditioning checkup. The technician arrived on time and was extremely helpful, answering questions, etc. He did the job quickly, and even brought forms for Dominions tune-up program. We didnt even have to pay as the Dominion program covered the cost!

This company is terrible. I scheduled a job with them. They called back to reschedule for a day earlier. Then they never showed up or called. When I called after waiting for almost 2 hours, the lady said they would get there “probably later than sooner”. I am not unemployed so had to go back to work, so I canceled. Then, the next week Fitch showed up out of the blue to fix my heater. I called and reminded them that I didn’t schedule them to come out so they left. Now they sent me a $105 bill for the “service call” because I “didn’t cancel”. How do you cancel something that was never scheduled in the first place?!? Never never use this company. They overcharge and their service is the worst I’ve ever seen.

The water main broke from our home to the street. We were insured for such an occurrence by Dominion Power. The power company contracted with Fitch Services to repair the main. Two young men (Chris and Preston) first defined the scope of work with us and submitted it to the power company. A few days later they arrived and completed the repair in one full day.The workers were very professional and were meticulous in returning our property to the way it appeared before all the digging and drilling. They carefully removed and replaced plants, and the gravel in our driveway, and the concrete on our porch.We are very pleased with the work that was done and will call this company again for services and will not hesitate to recommend it.

We had Fitch fix both our AC and furnace. We spent about two years trying to fix our AC with another company and eventually basically gave up. In a last ditch effort we called Fitch and they fixed it in an hour.Last Saturday our furnace broke. Within a few hours after calling them they had somebody at our house. While they werent able to fix the problem on that visit they were back first thing Monday and were able to get it working in no time.All people I worked with from the woman that scheduled our service to the technicians were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.All in all - it was a great experience!

I recently had a need for air conditioning service and just didnt want another day to go by without sharing the experience I had with Fitch Services. First of all, they answered their telephone immediately (no long msg about how their options had changed); they suggested several quick fix options trying to get my service working and getting me out of the heat; they had a technician in the area and contacted him and told me they would fit me in and someone would be at my home THAT DAY. Now, that is what I call SERVICE...one cannot go wrong with Fitch Services!!

Adding to my earlier review, this time for electrical and HVAC rough ins:Fitch installed rough ins for electrical (outlets, cans, typical stuff) and an in-ceiling mini split. During the process of selecting an HVAC options and electrical layouts Chris was extremely responsive in working with me to describe out options and prices. Being the project manager for my own job I had numerous questions for Chris during the planning stages, and the installers during the day of. Everybody was extremely helpful and always checked with me if they ran into an unanticipated issue that needed a decision. The work was completed as billed and I look forward to them coming back to trim out the space once the finished walls and ceiling are up.--------I hired Fitch for rough-ins (plumbing, electrical & HVAC). This review is for plumbing. Chris (president) came out to look at the space and provide the quote. Price was reasonable and he was very responsive. The plumbers (Brent & chris (dif chris)) took 2 days to do the work and did an absolutely awesome job. They walked the job with me first thing to make sure we were on the same page with where things were going to go and circled back with me throughout the day as they found a few things they needed to work around. The plumbers insulated the pipes in the ceiling and did a great job of hiding the waste lines in the garage ceiling before running them along the side of the ceiling which will enable a soffit to hide them. Both of these things were discussed as not necessary/possible during the original walk through with Chris so I was very pleased to see Brent take the initiative to do it right. Brent also knew his stuff when it came to the joists. He explained to me that he couldnt cut through the engineered joists and had to come up with a work around (Ive heard horror stories where contractors just cut through support structures against code...). The only miscommunication was about the tub (they put one in with plastic sidewalls instead of leaving it open for tile work). But that was more my fault for not clarifying and in the end itll save me some money and it looks good for what will be a little used shower. All in all Id recommend Fitch for future plumbing work in a heart beat.
