I have taken both my high-end watch and a near-antique cuckoo clock here. Both were fixed and fixed well. My watch was a situation of either here or sending it to Switzerland . . . No one else would touch it.I would recommend this shop to anyone for battery replacement through fixing a Patek.

4/16/21 Called this location about getting several watches serviced but got no answer & voicemail was full. I decided to drive there & a sign is in the window saying “owner passed away”. The gentlemen at the battery store a few doors down, also said the same about the owner. Condolences to the family. RIP Shop Owner

DO NOT take any high end watch to this repair shop. I recently purchased a Big Pilot 5002 through Chrono24 and immediately after receiving the watch it stopped working. I needed to diagnose the issue to file a claim. I took the watch to A Time n Place and the owner immediately told me the issue was a bad cannon pinion in a overly confident almost arrogant manner. A less discerning customer probably would have accepted that and let him work on it. I ended up sending it to IWC which said it needed servicing, e.g. parts cleaned and relubed. The owner went on to ask me how much I paid for it and told me that I paid 8 times too much for this watch. This comment combined with the cannon pinion comment he lost all credibility. This is a perfect place to get batteries replaced or inexpensive, mass produced movements worked on, but definitely do not consider for high end time pieces no matter how many times he tells you he works on Patek Phillipe.

Mr. Pham, is a great watch person, he has helped me restore my 1909 Grandfather clock to working condition, after others said they could not do it. Thanks!

Took our cuckoo clock in Monday expecting a long wait for an expensive repair. Owner took a quick look and check and said it should only need cleaning and it would be ready Thursday! I received a call around 11:30 Thursday that clock was fixed. The cost, I thought, was modest. Clock has been running perfectly, accurate with cell phone time, since. I cant remember when it has stayed this accurate, even for 24 hrs.

My first visit and I liked the owner right off. Hes honest and truthful. He talked me out of having one of my grandfathers clock cleaned. He explained that it wasnt worth the expense and explained why. This guy is a vanishing breed, because he does clock repair and I mean the gear and bushing type and he is as honest as the day is long. Hes an excellent high-end wrist watch repairman.

I had my grandfathers railroad pocket watch over 100 yrs old repaired within a week. Wow! I have somewhere that actually repair watches. I had total confidence in A Time and Place.No! No! No!Well!!! I in turned took my ESQ RECT MOP DIAS wrist watch to be repaired. The first lead time of the repair was 2 weeks. I called, and was told by the owner give him two additional weeks.I received a call from the owner that the watch was ready by the promised time(the 2 additional weeks)I showed up at A time and Place two weeks after the call the watch was ready. The owner went into a drawer and turned around and looked at me stating the watch wasn’t there. He then stated it at my home (Thursday).I called him four days later on a Monday, and he states he forgot the watch at home. I advised the owner I would be in the following Friday to pick up my watch.I went to the shop that Friday, and this is when the owner admitted that HIS DAUGHTER had taken my watch, and wore it to a party, and her friend who was attending Duke University as a joke took the watch after the party.I was told by the owner that the friend from Duke was returning the watch to HIS DAUGHTER. After 7 attempts and the continued lying about my watch the owner then cusses me out, and told me he didn’t have the watch, and there’s nothing he could do about it. The owner offered to replace the watch, BUT not with the same model watch. He stated “You cheated for what you pay for watch you pay too much”I in returned told him “I would take a replacement watch as long as it was the same model as my watch” He then said “You crazy! I spoke to lawyer, and I owe you nothing.”It doesn’t matter what my mother paid for the watch. This was a gift from my mom over 9 years ago. She passed away in 2016. HIS DAUGHTER stole my watch, and he should replace the stolen watch with the same model.I will not be doing business with A Time and Place ever again. My advice is if you have any time pieces of TRUE value don’t deal with A Time and Place. Yes I noticed most of the reviews was for battery replacement and cleaning. Not any real watch repairs. They’re are not accountable for your items once you walk out the door. A poor excuse for a repair shop... The Daughter straight out STOLE my Watch, and daddy is backing her up in her wrong.

I originally came to this guy because of these raving reviews. This guy has had my Movado watch for months to repair a buckle and the face of the watch. After picking it up, the buckle he put on, which was not a genuine Movado part was not fixed properly. I take it to him on a second occasion and he has still had my watch for months. I am sure he does well at Battery replacements, but I would not leave your watch with him for anything else.

I needed to get a watch band adjusted. Its such a great shop and the owner is very helpful. He was able to get the extra links removed quickly and it was very reasonably priced.

This shop lives up to their reviews!! We had a vintage military officers Rolex that is over 100yrs old. It was running slow and had never been serviced. This shop fixed the problem and its running perfectly.

I went there one day after getting my watch repaired at the mall. About a week after I got my crystal repaired, the second hand stopped working. I took it here and the owner was very knowledgeable and explained that they set in the wrong type of crystal. Long story short, he offered to do the job correctly or see what he could do at the shop. The owner was very nice and just took the second hand off my watch free of charge because it was hitting the bottom of the crystal. I left him with a well earned tip though. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone in Charlotte who needs watch repairs. He was much better than jewelers who would make you pay a good deal, and much better than fake shops that dont actually know how watches work. If you need watch repairs, Go here! Youll see his level of expertise just by walking through the door.

Ive had them look at 3 clocks that stopped working after I moved here. They not only gave reasonable estimates on the repairs, but also on the value of the clocks. The work was done quickly and the clocks are running better than before.The owner takes the time to explain the clock, the work, and how to keep the clock running.

I have two really nice Coach watches that stopped working because of dead batteries. I was afraid that I would have to send them back to the manufacturer, which was going to be expensive. Thankfully I was able to find this place on Google. The owner was very polite and replaced both batteries in under 5 minutes. Prices were VERY affordable (he only charged $8 per battery). I will definitely return in the future.

Just like the previous review said, this is a guy you can truly trust 100% Little did I know that my battery on my Tissot has an extremely short life. So I took my watch into 2 other shops prior to this one and both were scam artists claiming new movement was necessary, and they quoted me a price that was pretty outrageous. I decided to try one last shop, A Time n Place, and he determined within minutes my battery was low. I even told him on the phone I need him to change the movement. He had every opportunity to hustle me and he didnt. Very honest guy. And as others said, he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about watches. Please take the time to listen to him tell you about all the brands and their quality, fascinating info. I wanted to hear even more but their was a customer waiting behind me. One big takeaway here is that their are a lot of dishonest watch repair shops out there. Go see this guy, you wont be disappointed!!!

Best watchmaker in the Charlotte area. This guy will do everything from battery replacements, to watch repair, and even service your expensive automatic timepiece. He has 35+ years of doing this work. He is like the Mr. Miyagi of watches. On my recent visit he mentioned he may retire in a few years, so give him your business before hes gone. This profession is a rare jewel in these times.

I went in to see if I could have some permanent watch links taken off. The owner was kind and knowledgeable on watches and did a fantastic job with a very fair price. If you need any watch or clock fixed, This is the place to go!

Took my Seiko Chronograph in for a snapped part that holds the bracelet and the piece with the watch face together, thinking the fellow would need it for the weekend. Went ahead and told him to replace both pins on each side before the other broke as well. I was surprised to hear him say to wait 10 minutes. He replaced both pins and had me on my way in 5 minutes and for only $12.If I ever have any more problems or if anybody I know has problems with their watch, I wont hesitate to send em here. Thank you my friend!

I thought all the five star reviews were just a bunch of people blowing smoke, boy was I wrong. I got 12 or 13 watch batteries replaced and figured ok see ya tomorrow, nope. All 12 or 13 pieces up and ticking before close of business just like the day I bought em, and the gentleman there even gave me additional on maintenance and up keep.Update: I didnt realize until just now, but the gentlemen even took the time to set all 12 or 13 watches to the correct time before I picked them up.

$16 bucks to replace the battery on my citizen and Seiko. Took him all of 5 minutes. Polite, quick, and charged a fair price. Will be going to him for all future watch related issues.

The gentleman I presume to be the owner of the shop was very friendly and replaced the battery of my Michele watch within minutes and at a good price. One tip - the hours have changed and I believe are 10-3 not 10-6 as listed on Google.

I travel alot for work to Charlotte and decided to take my old watch with me to find a place to fix it. The watch was a nice gift given to me in my teenage years and stopped working after a few years. I found this place on Google so stopped in on my lunch break. The older gentleman was there fixing watches and I told him to check it out and see if I needed anything else. 7 mins and 8 bucks later for a battery replacement, it was working. The shop also has an assortment of older clocks and watches piled around. Almost bought another one as I waited, for a very reasonable price.I am going to take my grandfathers watch there next to get it fixed and surprise my dad. I will leave another review after I do.

Very satisfied, batteries for Titan watches are available here. He replaced it within 2 mins whereas the original Titan World repairman took 15 mins back in India. Hopefully many Indian watch owners will be benefitted. Battery replacement cost me $9. Definitely recommended. Will visit again for sure.

Great experience. I brought my Longines Grand Vitesse (movement is a valjoux 7750 variant) for a full servicing, which would be $500-600 to have done by an authorized dealer. Basically I dropped it causing it to stop, but it wasnt keeping very good time beforehand, and would regularly stop overnight.Not only did he advise me I most likely do not need a full servicing, he was able to repair and time the watch for a 1/5 of what I expected to spend, and I dont have to wait weeks to get it back from the authorized dealer.Owner is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I will be taking any watch or clock there for any service or repair going forward.
