Queen City was referred by some friends, as we were looking to have all our hardwoods refinished as well as new hardwoods installed in the kitchen to match the originals. They were able to perfectly match the newly installed hardwoods with the originals, repair some spots in the old hardwoods, and finish all the floors to have a consist look throughout. We just purchased our first home and hoped to be able to get our wood floors fixed and re-finished before we moved in. Josh and his team were wonderful to work with from beginning to end. He and his team completed the job of refinishing and also installing a whole new floor in one of the rooms in a total of 3 days.Josh came out to meet me and explained everything he would need to do to refinish the floors and had his team come out that same week, removed an entire floor from a room and installed the new floor for it to be ready for staining along with rest of the home.My floors were in pretty bad shape before Josh and his team came out (bought a fixer upper) and now they look great with a provincial satin stain!I highly recommend Queen City Hardwoods, Josh is very personable, down to earth and always kept me updated about the progress of the floors.I appreciate that it is a local Charlotte business and not a corporate conglomerate!

Let me start by saying the issue that we brought to Josh and his team at Queen City Hardwoods would have been almost impossible for even the most seasoned flooring professional to figure out. We recently bought a home that had mismatched pre-engineered hardwoods throughout. We had no way of knowing the manufacturer of the product, the color or the item number. Josh was not only able to find the product, but he also was able to find us the best price per square foot in the greater Charlotte area. To top it all off, we had an extremely tight time line which Queen City not only accommodated but actually finished the job ahead of schedule. The color match is perfect, the attention to detail in every cut and corner was executed flawlessly and they even cleaned up as if no one was ever there. I would highly recommend Josh and his team at Queen City Hardwoods to complete your next flooring project. I will definitely use them again but because they did such an amazing job it may be 20 years before we need new floors. It was truly a five star experience.

The owner was knowledgeable, but unprofessional. My hardwood repair and refinishing was fairly priced. The hardwood repair came out well, but the refinishing was a nightmare. It took the company 3 times to get my floors refinished to the standard we established (which was the quality of my existing floors). The owner was responsive to calls, but was difficult to work with. I would never hire him again for any job. The work was done and my friends believe that I had a mild experience with a contractor. Several times during the process, I had to remind the owner that he was obligated to satisfactory work under his contract and I was panicking because I thought this would come down to a breach of contract. I moved all my furniture (which I think was standard practice) and received no discounts.

Josh saved the day for us while selling our home. We had a nasty scar that needed to be fixed, and his skilled staff made it as good as new, within the time frame we needed. Hes honest and has integrity. Highly recommended!

In todays world I sadly dont expect amazing customer service or outstanding work. I got both with Josh and his crew. We left town for a trip out west during the job and came back to the most beautiful work. His crew not only did a phenomenal job but they cleaned up after themselves so well I barely had any dusting to do. I am so glad we used these guys. Josh and his crew did a great job! I had to have an old HVAC return removed from my floor and needed new hardwood flooring tied in to disguise where the old hole had been. The guys did an incredible job repairing the hole and it looks as though it never existed. They were also able to fix a few spots where I had termite damage.After the hole was repaired they sanded all of my existing hardwoods and refinished them. The floor looks beautiful and we couldnt be more happy. We interviewed several hardwood flooring companies before deciding on Queen City Hardwoods, they werent the cheapest or the most expensive, but seemed to be the most honest and clear about the project. We were extremely impressed with the owner, Josh, and how quickly he responded with an estimate and the personal service provided. He never made us feel like we were asking too many questions and gave us clear answers and direction.My wife and I have a very tight schedule and they worked hard to make accommodations. From beginning to end they could not have been more helpful with each step of the process. The selection, (which was pre-finished, 5 and 1/4 inch, hand-scraped Acacia) the estimate, the product delivery, and, finally, the installation was literally flawless. Josh arrived personally the day of the install to ensure everything was set up correctly and the install team knew exactly what we wanted. He even helped me move a couple pieces of furniture that I couldnt lift alone. The install team was friendly, courteous and had over 10 years of experience. They quickly demoed the existing carpet and went to work racking the floor (I learned this term from the team, it means laying out the floor boards before nailing them down.) The type of wood we purchased has a wonderful variety of colors, knots and lots of character. I went through a few boxes, picked out my favorite pieces and asked them to position each one in the most visible spots. They happily accommodated and then went above and beyond with additional suggestions about board placement, which direction to run the boards (to make the room look bigger) and how to best care for the wood. These guys are true artists with an eye for balance and cohesion. (Please see picture attached for example).The project was finished in less than a day and the install team left the place cleaner than when they arrived. To top it off, Josh came BACK out after the job was done to fully inspect the work and make sure it exceeded our expectations. We LOVE our new floors!!!
