Dr. Byrd is the best with my children. She is always pleasant and professional. She is personable and always comes out to talk with me at the end of their treatment. The hygienist are wonderful as well. They always ask if I have any questions or concerns at the beginning of the appointment. My reason for 4 out of 5 stars is the office staff. I feel like it is always an issue with paper work when I come. Also with it being COVID times I think it is more efficient to take temperatures when patients first arrive instead of waiting 15 minutes after they come into the office. Also if they are allowing 1 parent to stay in the waiting area they should take the parent’s temperature as well. Other than that this is a great place for dental treatment. I highly recommendDr. Byrd.

I have been coming to this dentist office for 10 years. I really like this office because I was unable to go in the back with my 7 year old child and or talk to the doctor who was to be taking care of her. The assistant was very nice that I spoke to but the doctor never came to talked to me. I love the staff and never had an issue. My daughter is 7 years old and is scared when it comes to going with strangers! I drove across town to get there and was told due to Covid -19 I was not allow back with my daughter. I left, because I was uncomfortable leaving my child in hands that I never meet or spoken to.. I just had to cancel her cleaning appointment today, because they still arent letting parents back with young children. One parent should not be a issue in order to watch their child. This is my child that Im suppose to hand over to strangers that I dont have a relationship with, and be okay with!! If It was a regulars doctor she seen I would understand but I never know who is working on her. Please address this common sense issue and allow one parent wit their child. Thanks!

Great experience! We met a couple of the dental hygienist, Shenita & Tierra, who both were very friendly and made the children feel very welcomed and comfortable. Dr. Byrd is our go to dentist! She even took time to come out and review results of visit with me. We will definitely return for a visit with Dr. Byrd and always recommend her to others.

I had to get a wisdom tooth extract and I was EXTREMELY nervous😥, I had the blessing to have it done by Dr Chokshi, he was very gentle and explained every step to me, 🥰I didnt feel when I was getting anesthesia injected, he took his time. It took him less than 2 min to get my tooth out, asking me if I was ok through all the process🤗. It was awesome!!! I didnt feel anything!!!👏👏 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND East Charlotte Dental, for your needs. Super friendly and nice staff, awesome Drs, good prices.

If you have kids scared of the dentist ask for Jessica shes the greatest at easing kids into the treatments from cleanings to any treatment needed shes just awesome. She has a special way of distracting them from the sting of things. I think shes the Best 1 there but dont take my word go in and see for yourself. Shes great.

Couldnt have asked for a better duo to treat my 4 year old! Dr. Byrd along with her assistant, Tierra, were amazing! They took the time to answer all of my questions and were so fun and engaging with my child that on our way home from the appointment, my daughter said she wants to come back again 10 more times! She didnt even know that she was given local anesthesia, thats how good this doctor is! Thank you all again!

Worst experience Ive ever had. Honestly dont know how they have good reviews. Went in for pain on one tooth, pointed to it and told them I was having pain on that specific tooth. Dentist looked at the xray and said it was a small cavity. I asked for xrays to be emailed to me, was told that they would be. I left after signing for a treatment that I thought I told the dentist about. Never got my xrays until my next appointment.Had my appointment about a month later and another dentist worked on a whole different tooth. I called and the front desk said that my chart stated that I had a cavity on that tooth that was worked on. I mentioned that I was having pain on a different tooth. Receptionist told me I should have communicated it to the dentist and that I would need to be scheduled to get it fixed. I told her that this was the whole point to my appointments, to get that tooth looked at. She made it seem as though it was my miscommunication and that I should have told the dentist which tooth needed work. I told her that I did communicate that to the first dentist and to the xray technician. (Whom both seemed to be busy taking about non work related things than actually listening to what I was saying.) Its a miscommunication between the office and not from me. And she told me that I had signed for that specific treatment plan, like Im supposed to know my tooth numbers and what the letter o means. Please do your own research before coming here. They cover their own butt without carrying for yours. You put your trust in the dentists hands but turns out they dont even know what they are doing. The dental assistant seemed to know more than the dentist. Dr. Chokshi worked on my tooth and it wasnt pleasant. Its been over 2.5 weeks since my appointment and Im still having pain at the injection site. Which I dont belive is normal. Also felt like he just filled my tooth down a bit too much to save me from coming back in for adjustments. Which I feel was a lazy job. You have to ask these people more than once or twice for them to email you anything.Just feels like a bunch of fresh dentists out of college with no experience who care to socialize more than to help. Just felt like a number. They get you in for your money and thats it. Will not be going back to get anymore teeth worked on, especially when they didnt even work on the one that was causing me pain.

When I tell you I don’t know where to start!!! My children have been going here for sometime and at first I was not pleased with the dentist that was there some time ago. However they have an awesome Dentist who is there now. Dr. Byrd is awesome and all 3 of my children love her. My husband and myself love her. Dr. Byrd is patient and really good with kids. My husband took my 3 year old to her dentist appt this morning where she had to get some laughing gas and a small procedure. (The last attempt by the old doctor was not good at all!!!) My husband said she came in the room so positive, upbeat and talking to my 3yr old. She made the procedure seem like it was nothing and my 3yr old didn’t cry or feel a thing. My husband was back home home ranting and raving how awesome Dr. Byrd was!!! He has always been terrified to go to the dentist but he said if she can be his dentist then he’ll go!!! I am just so happy that they have a doctor who really cares about their patients and takes the time to give Excellent care!!! Thank You!!!

The front staff was great! But every since the old children’s dentist and dr minor is here everything went left. I was told I couldn’t be in the back because I had a baby. Every since I’ve been coming here I’ve never had this experience until she came. I as a parent deserve to see what’s going on with my child’s mouth. We won’t be back.

Best practice Ive been to by far!! I am a very nervous patient however the dentist did very well and let me know everything going on step by step. All staff are great. I still have more work to be done as well as a tooth pulled 😬 Im confident about it 😊

I made an appointment today at 12. I went there one lady took me to a room and no one was there for an hour. I was told everything will be finished within an hour when I made the appointment but that was not the reality. I had to wait for 1 hour no one showed up so I had to left that place because I was getting late for work.I won’t recommend anyone to this place.

I took my kid for his appointment with Dr. Byrd and ms. Tierra they have a lot of patience working with kids that are afraid of the dentist, they will talk to them and make the kids more easy to treat. The service was excellent and fast

Its hard to find a good dentist office that truly has your best interest at heart rather than just fill a seat or sell you something. Then there are offices where theyre very friendly, but what good is that if they dont do the job right? Dr. Ross explains everything in detail and does a great job. If I have any concerns, the team goes out of their way to accommodate. Great group of people there.

This is the WORST dentist office I have ever been to. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would highly highly highly recommend that if you have young children do NOT come to this dentist. I was sent by a pediatrician and when I came in to Address my baby’s tooth I was asked “why I was even there”, not only was the dentist we saw rude but also completely unprofessional. The office itself was unprepared for a baby and seemed to lack knowledge on how to address my child’s situation they didn’t even have the right sized tools. She (being the dentist) made me feel like I didn’t know what I was doing as a parent and for that I’m disgusted, we will never be returning to this dentist office and I’d advise anyone that considers going to look elsewhere for the sake of your child!!

I recently moved from NY and haven’t been able to see a dentist I went in today for a emergency appointment because of pain in my teeth I got right in the hygienist was very concerned and she was nice and caring I’m 32 weeks pregnant so there wasn’t much she could do for me but I appreciate her taking time to see me I will definitely be back after the baby is born for my full exam and the starting of repairing my teeth sorry I forgot her name but she was amazing and made me feel like she really cared about the health of my teeth see you in March and thank you so much for the fast appointment !!

I had to bring 2 kids in today, one of which is a 17month old. It was the babies first time and the office staff was amazing. They were friendly. The dental assistant was amazing with getting my babys teeth cleaned and examined and the dentist was very nice. I have been coming for years but this was the best visit Ive been to in a while.

Was considering enrolling my kids here but the receptionist could not hear or spell . She asked me how to spell Monique another example I said 30415 she repeated 30412 😏😏I understand the popularity of hiring bilingual people but not at the expense of people who speak English 👌🏾🤬🤬I hung up because I don’t have the time or patience to repeat every other word🤷🏾‍♀️

I’ve been dealing with off and on tooth aches from my back tooth for over 2 years and was nervous about going to the dentist so I just tried to ignore it until one day the whole side of my face hurt and no amount of medicine took the pain away I called the dentist and they were able to get me in 30mins later I was so annoyed with the tooth I just wanted it pulled but I had to take antibiotics first the pain immediately went away a couple hours after taking the antibiotics and a few days later I went in to get the tooth pulled on Thursday I was really nervous thinking it was going got hurt but I honestly really didn’t feel much pain the doctor numbed me with some cream before doing the shots and once the whole tooth was numb all I felt was some pulling it was a very good experience and I’m not nervous to go back to the dentist if I need to I did get a prescription for some pain medicine but I’ve honestly not been in pain since having it pulled it was a tiny bit sore the night off but since then I’ve been pain free and it’s been amazing to not have to deal with that tooth anymore I highly recommend this place

The worst part is when you try to talk with the doctor, he doesnt want to talk with you, he send an assistant. If you really care about you. Dont come to this Dental.

Took my mom to get her tooth fixed, they end up fixing A WHOLE DIFFERENT TOOTH! And when I tried to get answers they just started yelling at me and saying they wouldn’t do anything. They just want to take your money. Maybe because we’re hispanic they just don’t care. I’m never going back.

We really try to support our local dentist, BUT... the revolving door of dentists, not explaining services before they surprise-charge you for them, sending you to collections because the office management cant figure out how to submit a bill (they admitted sending us ZERO bills before sending to collections)... being a loyal customer for years and paying cash gets you nothing with these people. One dentist did the worst crown Ive ever had, then he moved to their real branch out in Indian Trail), although we liked Dr. Hollowell. Sadly, done here.

Came in for my children appointment 10 minutes early and still waited over an hour. Usually if your more then 15 minutes late they want you to reschedule. But how is it they can have you wait over an hour before even being seen.

Very disappointing service. Scheduled a cleaning and a filling for same day for last week of December (call was recorded), but Leticia just scheduled the filling but not the cleaning, so guess what... I lost my free covered cleaning of the year because of her careless mistake. I could not schedule for a few weeks earlier because they didnt have anything available. I also waited for about ONE HOUR before being seen!!! Not coming back. Very unhappy patient.

I have always had a great experience At East Charlotte Dental. I have a long history with this place and have been seen by many Drs . I also have 2 of my adult children now going here since they aged out of a pediatric place they started with when they were toddlers.Today I had a filling with Nitro us Oxide and was made very comfortable. Next month I will be without insurance and will have to pay in cash for a dental cleaning. I am willing to keep coming! I paid $130 for this months (January 2017) cleaning I had no x rays done 6 months ago it was $143. I was told it was bought by another company in October 2016 new pricing. Only a few of the old employees still work there. 1/24/2017

I love this place, they really care about your dental hygiene. I moved from Ohio where my dentist failed to do xrays whoch resulted in periodontal disease. East Charlotte Dental has made sure my dental hygiene is back on track. Other perks: quick service and friendly staff.

This office has declined tremendously since it was sold by doctor Ross. I previously was a patient under Dr. Ross. I accompanied my child to her first visit and found someone elses gum stuck on the chair where it had apparently fallen out of someone elses mouth. I had to point it out to the hygenist. We were the first patient of the day. The office is dirty and no attention is kept to ensure that utensils do not touch unsanitary surfaces before attempting to use them in patients mouths. My first visit with her was our last visit!!!

My son has a abscess on his tooth and his grandma who has taking him to all his appointments when I was unavailable for the last 7years was denied to do so.. even though I signed a hippa form he was in pain and she refused to see him bc she is the new provider and will not see him with me. So I had to take him to the emergency room and I took all 5 my kids out of her office. She was rude and unthoughtful since his dad lives out of town and I’m here alone

Due to the pandemic and recently having surgery things been out of wack for me but that did not matter to them...I was told i cant make no more appointments due to missing a few..I only missed appointments since the pandemic. I would never do business with them again...Inconsiderate place....Dont recommend them to anyone....

Tammy & Phyllis are really sweet there, they are very kind and patient.I have had an unpleasant experience with Dr. Draper. I had a lot of fillings done, and afterwards experienced a lot of pain. They would not see me right away due to cold sores caused by the initial treatment, so I had to wait. Dr. Draper refused to write a Rx for anything for my pain, even though it is keeping me up at night, I constantly have to keep icing my face, and Im taking the maximum dosage of Tylenol and Advil, with those not touching the level of pain that I am in. I think its normal for humans to fear pain, and that is why the dentist can be dreaded - fear of pain. I think Dr. Draper is insensitive to patients in pain, and if you are scared of being in pain, you should see a different dentist - one who would be more sensitive to your quality of life and care.I asked for nitrus during the fillings, and Dr. Draper said I didnt need it, and she kept drilling away. I was visibly shaken and clearly distressed, but I was refused. The extreme stress of the visit caused cold sores, which was documented at my primary care physician. When I went back to address my pain, she wanted to adjust my bite by drilling on my teeth with no Novocaine, or nitrus, or anything. This was terrifying, so I did not do it. I left and I am just going to deal with the current pain I am, go to the ER if necessary, until I can get in with a different dentist to adjust my bite. We are going on week #3 now with extreme pain, & I can not chew any food whatsoever on the left side of my mouth.On my follow-up visit, Dr. Draper wanted to get right in working on the right side cavities after drilling to adjust my bite, before the left side was working properly, which would have left me unable to eat solid food at ALL for who knows how long. Im not sure if Dr. Draper is new at life, or dentistry, or what. Chewing food is a pretty basic necessity... I do have medicaid, and the only thing I can think of that would motivate a dentist to behave in such a way is that maybe Dr. Draper is in the habit of refusing pain and stress management to patients, to save her practice money. If this is the case, this is extremely unethical. If this is not the reason, her behavior is inhumane. I am not sure what is worse...

I had a feeling in the cap come off. I went there to get them put back on. But while I was in there the dentist cut the inside of my cheek with a drill and then told me I bit my cheek. Did not seem very professional.

They slit the skin under my tongue while performing 5 fill ins then stitched it up and did not provide me any pain medications then advised me to by dental instructions by telling me to purchase dental products from Walmart. ....smh....NEVER GOIN BACK...Im in excruciating pain....But they havent heard the last from me.Omw to the E.R

I brought my son to have his tooth fixed he was put on laughing gas and got a little nervous after she stuck the wedge in to keep his mouth open said he needed to swallow dentist lady got very aggravated to take it out for a second and seemed to be in a hurry made him cry he ran out of the office , very unprofessional if you have a nervous kid about to work done dont expect this dentist to be caring she has a job to do .

Yesterday I went to get a third molar extraction and also a cleaningThe very kind dental assistant and the doctor who extracted the third molar. But blessed God be the person who did the cleaning me no no no the first thing I said when I stopped there was that barbarian but how gross is that woman.He did the cleaning with a terrible speed and of course he did not do it well. It was a rough crap that bad experience with her, the cleaning is not done again to prevent me from touching her.
