I’ve taken our 2006 Honda Pilot to Compact Car for service for the past year and a half and I’ve been very pleased with their work. I can get an appointment quickly, my car is ready when they say it will be, estimated costs are actual costs and my car runs noticeably better after service. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend this place. They only work on Hondas and Acuras. Very honest, knowledgeable and no pressure with needed repairs. They take the time to explain what needs repaired, why its needed, how long you can go without repair and possible results if it doesnt get repaired. Ive been going here at least 6 years. I will only buy Hondas from now on just because they only work on Hondas and Acuras.

I first started going to Compact Car in 1989 and I’ve taken my Honda cars and van to them ever since. I appreciate their honesty and quality work, and willingness to tell me what needs to be done ASAP vs. what can wait till I have room in my budget. The lack of turnover with employees shows it must also be a good place to work.

When I go to a mechanic I want two things: honesty and quality work. I’ve had two minor issues where I’ve gone here and both times the honesty I received was as good as one could hope for. First time my drivers seat wouldn’t recline all the way. Turns out my wife dropped something that got stuck in seat motor. Next trip they tell me they think everything is fine with my car as they couldn’t replicate the issue I had and they talk me out of a repair. Two times I went there and twice they could have taken advantage of the situation for monetary gain. Sadly we are selling the Acura but if I ever have a chance to refer someone to this place I will.

Took my car 06 Element to find out what was going on with it. Check engine light - Code P0302. Battling this code for months. I took it to a Honda Dealership and had a valve adjustment done. After the valve adjustment, it would idle and run rough and die, it also sounded like a diesel. I took it back to the dealership a couple months later, they couldnt find anything wrong with it. It ran fine. My car kept getting worse so I took it to Compact Cars. I planned on them having it for several days. They called me a few hours after I dropped it off and told me they found the issue and my car is fixed. The dealership did the valve adjustment backwards. So far, so good. Car is running great and no check engine light.

There are honest people still out there! This company is beyond top notch!!! Honest, caring, concerned about your needs, not out to take advantage of you AND they have been in business for years! I see why. This was my first experience with them ( a coworker of mine introduced me to them) and will NOT be my last! I too will recommend them!

A friend recommended that I try Compact Car services when a Honda dealer in the area told me that I needed around $400 in parts and service when my 2003 Odyssey started running rough after not driving it for about a week and was showing a service required light - this began as we had the first cold snap - the Odysssey started running smoothly later on but the light was still on. As my friend recommended, I took it to Compact Car and they recommended trying resetting the warning light and continue to drive it and see if the light would come back on - it didnt and it was never an issue again. Compact Car charged me a minimum service fee, about $50 dollars from what I remember. From that point on, Ive taken all of the Honda vehicles that I have owned there for service and they have proven very capable and reasonable, and honest - Ive never had to deal with them trying to upsell me on services that I do not need. I highly recommend them!

VERY HAPPY with how I was treated!!!! Made an appointment for my 2004 Honda Accord and they were very kind to me when I got there as I ended up having a flat tire when I pulled in. They diagnosed my car and unfortunately were not able to help me with this particular problem because of my aftermarket parts but gave me great advice. Came to pick up the car and to my delighted surprise, didnt charge me and they even put my spare tire on so I could get the flat fixed! I would have gladly paid their very reasonable diagnostic charge!

Absolutely outstanding service!!! Had a problem with my 2016 Pilot which would have cost $1500. They called Honda on my behalf and got me set up for a free repair to be completed under warranty. Really impressed (and thankful). Highly recommend.

Compact car services has been my to go shop for all my vehicle needs. Their team of mechanics are honest and knowledgeable people that provide world class customer service. This is hands down by far the best Honda shop in Charlotte.

Service desk friendly. Took my car in for oil change. Service complete in timely manner. Price reasonable. I did asked before bringing vehicle in if they top off fluids. Was told yes and no extra charge for it but when I got home and check vehicle they didnt top off fluids. I immediately called back and spoke with Lisa. After asking me a series of questions she told me to bring vehicle back in and they would top off my fluids. I was thankful for that but its just always seem nice when someone apologize that it even happen because now I have to go back. Im giving one star because they didnt top it off as it was part of service and I have to make extra trip to get it done....and no apologies was provided. Normally they are good.

They are the best car service repairs for anything. What i really cherish is thier honesty! I drive clearly across town just to have them sercice my Honda will never go anywhere else!

Excellent mechanics. I’ve never felt like they were ripping me off—in fact, I think they might have undercharged me at one point. Incredibly kind people who clearly know their stuff. Pretty quick too, and they have free WiFi in the waiting room when things are taking longer. The one tricky part is finding the turn into the parking lot and then getting back on to independence—but that’s not their fault at all.

Compact Car Service has my highest recommendation. Their honest, always helpful, and they provide top notch service at a fair price for Hondas and Acuras. Ive depended on them for my service needs since about 2006...

Took my Acura TL here after hearing a bearing noise, I couldnt isolate it on my own so I took it in for their $40 diagnostic service. The tech was able to figure it out within a few minutes of getting the car on the lift and they didnt even charge me!One thing that stuck out to me was that a few customers in the waiting room were raving about this shop saying theyve taken their cars here for xx years and sharing good experiences theyve had. These testimonials from the other customers and my great first experience going here has definitely won them a new loyal customer.

Great experience! I took my vehicle another repair shop because I was having trouble getting my car out of park. The problem was so bad that I had to use an emergency shift release trick each time I wanted to go into reserve or drive. A total nightmare! Well, after calling the shop for status updates for 2 days and having two guys work on the diagnostic, they finally recommend that I replace the shift interlock solenoid at a cost of over $500. I was highly skeptical and called Compact Car Service for a 2nd opinion. Robin put me through to Keith and after explaining the issue, Keith says that he has NEVER replaced a shift interlock because it’s normally something else like a faulty brake light switch causing the problem. He recommended that I not get the repairs done and give him a chance to look at it. I was impressed that he seemed to be able to assess the situation over the phone whereas the other shop took 2 days and 2 mechanics to give me an answer! I called the other repair shop back and explained that I did not want to get the repairs and would pick up my car the following morning. I get to the other shop and am told that they have done “a reset” on the car so I will be able to get it out of shift but it will act up again soon. Sounded fishy to me. If doing a “reset” was an option all along why am I just hearing about it? Anyways, I drop the car off at Compact and within a couple of hours I receive a call from Keith. He could not get the gear shift to stick and asked me how I was able to get the car there. I explain about the “reset” done at the other shop. Keith says there is no such thing as a reset! I am so glad I didn’t get the repairs. Keith recommended that I replace the brake light switch. I give the go ahead, my car is ready 1 hour later, and the total bill comes to $60 (the same price as the diagnostic at the other shop). I have had no problems with the car since. I am thankful for Keith and Compact Car Service. The service is top notch, the prices are reasonable, and the expertise is unmatched!

I bought another Honda 2 yrs ago, mainly for piece of mind, knowing Randy and Keith and the staff are best mechanics/customer service I have dealt with in 40 years of driving. Dont even think about taking your car anywhere else. The best in the biz!

This is hands down the best Honda shop in Charlotte. I take my Acura and use to take an Accord to Compact car. They will never do something unnecessary on your car, they use original Honda parts and provide excellent workmanship. They also sell tires and have a nice waiting area. Highly recommend!

They are the ONLY people, beside myself that works on my car. They are very polite and work orrentient. They never fix anything, until they explain it first. They only work on certain cars. You become friends the the owners and the girls up front. So sweet and pleasurable atmosphere. They even have a very nice sitting/ waiting area.

This is a great group of service professionals who can fix anything at a top notch level ... and if it aint broke , they dont fix it or try to sell you something you dont need ....they are a hidden gem in the world of auto service centers..I have gladly trusted my cars as well as the cars of my kids to this wonderful group of experts ! Best Honda folks in town if you have an older vehicle. Experts at identifying the exact issue and doing exactly what is needed to get the car working again. No unnecessary repairs and no upsell of extra unneeded repairs. Got my 2001 honda accord up and running and ready for inspection.

Quick and professional service. Technician know a lot about the vehicles and provide service at a fair price. Recommend to me by a fellow co-worker and they lived up to his recommendation. Staff is friendly and they shoot straight, no one will try and rip you off on some un needed services.

This group is hands down, THE BEST. I luckily stumbled upon them when I first moved to CLT in 1990, needing to have my Honda serviced.I know nothing about cars & there have been many times they could have easily taken advantage of me, but they never have & for that, they have earned my undying loyalty. I purposely have never bought another brand of car, other than Honda & Acura, just so I can keep going back to them.

Just recently, had my Acura serviced there for an AC compressor cost more than expected. I used to go this place all the time for every service on my Honda. But that was many years before. And Johnny was still there. He was an excellent mechanic and always felt job was done right. But sad to say he no longer with us. And a lot has changed since then.

This is the most awesome place to get your car serviced if you have a Honda/Acura! They are knowledgeable, friendly, do great work, and dont price gouge. I got to where I would not take my car to be serviced as a woman, because I was always taken advantage of. Compact Car Service has proven to me time and time again that they can be trusted. We thought we needed new brakes 6 months ago and they told us we still had some time on them. They could have easily sold us new brakes and we would have never known. Recently both of our Acuras have been having problems and they have worked with us to figure out the problem BEFORE having us spend a lot of money to do something they think might be the problem. They have spent a lot of time on our cars, but until they find the problem, they havent charged us. I dont know anywhere else in Charlotte that would have done that. They are good, honest, hard workers who dont take short cuts and dont sell you things you dont need. I didnt think a car service place was out there like this. We are so thankful we found such a wonderful place to take our cars. Keep up the good work Compact Car Service!!!

Ignore the 2 bad reviews below, they are not real. I have been going to Compact Car for over 20 years and there is no better place for honda repairs. The owner Johnny who is also the lead mechanic is as good and honest as they come.

You can not say enough good things about this company. From the front desk receptionist to the back door everyone is professional and doing it right. Very knowledgable and affordable!! I dont know why people keep going to the dealer when you have these guys that have more experience then most the dealers techs and you are treated like family instead of $$$$ which is all a dealer sees in a customer. I am always interest to read reviews. I think its so funny that somebody gave a bad review over a tail pipe they bought that was bent and did not fit correctly then wants to complain that they were charged to fix a part that the company should have bought and made 25% on at least - come on you are already saving a ton on labor. This is where I think so many customers need to know they can trust these guys and understand that cars have issues and need routine maintenance. Some problems with cars can be complex too- fix one thing and then need something else fixed too- ever think they are related or that it went from one week point to another in the system. I am just saying a little knowledge for the customers makes a difference but either way you are in well trusted hands with Compact Cars of Charlotte

Moved to Charlotte a year ago from Texas, I have Acura Rl an MDX. Found the diamond in the ruff. Very Happy with there service, Johnny was always straight shooter and easy to talk to. I understand 3 ex Honda , Acura dealer mechanics own and operate. Very knowledgeable. Never felt taken advantage of.They always took the second mile. I called in the other day and asked for Johnny found out he had passed away. I just felt awful and know it was a blow to his other partners and staff.I just bought a 2012 Rl and I will be back for my service.

I ALWAYS bring my car here if at all possible. I have only owned Hondas and Acuras, and a big reason for that is I know if I have an issue, I can bring my car here. I had a 2001 Acura 3.2 CL that had a bad transmission. I brought it to them for repairs, but instead of fixing it for me and charging me an arm and a leg, they told me to go over to the dealer because it had a recall and they would do it for free! A couple of years later, i brought the same car in for brake disks. Everyone else told me they had to be replaced, but they were able to rotate and sand them down, which saved me a couple hundred dollars. I HIGHLY recommend them to any Honda or Acura owner.
