The guy was so nice and he seemed pretty knowledgeable. We left there with a new Ibanez acoustic with pickup for my baby girls school guitar class. She loves her new guitar and I am looking forward to the live concerts.

I have taken several vintage trumpets to this location for repair. These are professional horns, but aging from 50 to 80 years old. The Music and Arts team have been excellent to work with! They are patient, understanding and very caring. One repair didn’t satisfy me completely, it was a slide that I thought was still a bit stiff. When I brought the trumpet back a few days later, they listened to my concerns, looked at the problem area, and accepted it again to see what they could do. The trumpet, manufactured in 1954, wasn’t easy to work with, I’m sure. When I got the trumpet back, I was completely thrilled with their efforts. Music and Arts in Charleston; thank you! :) Pictured are a Benge 4x that had a mangled bell and an Olds Ambassador that required work in several areas.

This place was great!! I came in with my brother to buy him his first electric guitar for his birthday and it was a really good experience.The employees are very friendly and helpful. They greeted us at the door, provided great help when needed without being pushy at all, and were super nice in general! They were also really great about sanitation.The prices are really great too (at least for guitars). There were several options under $300 and also several pricier options depending on your budget! We also bought an amplifier which was 40% off so it was a really great price, especially since it was going to be my brothers very first electric guitar and we didnt want to spend a bunch of money. We ended up paying around $300 for the electric guitar, amplifier, amplifier cable, and guitar bag in total. To compare, the Guitar Center we went to that same day had only 1-2 guitars that were less that $600, and there was only 1 amplifier that was under $200. This store is wayyyy better in terms of pricing and they have good financing options if you need.They also had a bunch of pianos, drum sets, wind and brass instruments, and other music accessories if youre not looking for a guitar, they even have lessons. Its a smaller store, but they have a lot! I would absolutely recommend coming here before shopping on Amazon or at Guitar Center, this is a really good music store and you should definitely consider supporting them! :)

Little back story first... I’m in the process of selling one of my guitar, so I figured hey why not go to a local store and ask if they buy used gear.I walk in and notice that the store has lots of nice gear for the price, with a mix of everything. I politely waited until the lady behind the counter finished with another customer, then I asked if they purchased used gear. Sadly they did not, so I smiled, said thank you, and walked back to my car.I sat in my car for about 5 minutes or so, updating different web pages about my guitar (because I’m trying to sell it). As I’m doing this, I notice the lady from behind the counter has walked outside, stood by the door, and started to stare at me for a good 30 seconds plus, with a look on her face, until I drove off. I thought to myself at first, well that’s odd, why is she doing that? Once I pulled out onto the highway, then it hit me. That was a very rude thing to do, and I became very aggravated by the whole situation. We were both very polite to each other in the store. But because I was in my car in the parking lot a little longer than most people, she stared me down as if I was a threat of some sort.This negative review is not for the store, or the quality of the products in said store. It’s for the what happened after I left. Good luck with your business, but I am never going back.

The rep who called me was extremely rude and threaten me with a lawsuit for no apparent reason. The instrument was turned in. I had a card on file for payments and now they say I have to pay a balance but cant tell me why. Never again will I use this business.

I went here to look for a fiddle bow as a present for my boyfriend. I have to give this place 5 stars just for Lonnie! He was absolutely amazing! He went over everything with me to find the perfect fit for over an hour and was very patient and knowledgeable! He deserves a huge raise for how amazing he was, and if you go to Music and Arts you should ask for him! I was very pleased and impressed!!

I really like the fact that they offer instruments on rental here! Just in case my daughter changes her mind about playing the clarinet! Whats also great is that if I wish to purchase the instrument whatever I have paid on rental so far goes towards the purchasing cost. They also offer maintenance of the instrument which is great.The staff is pleasant and takes time to explain the ins and outs of your rental or purchase.

Brittany is a very helpful and informative manager. In the 2 years I have been going there, they have been nothing but pleasant. My son takes lessons there. We also have our instruments repair there in a timely manner. We were as given the best price on items, Its why we bought a piano from them. We highly recommend them.

I went to this store for banjo strings. The employee who helped me was very nice and helpful. I went back for an obscure wrench for tightening a banjo head and she went out of her way to find one for me. Great store!

I went there for a uniform item. I understand the clerk didnt know what I was talking about but I felt she was super rude about it. She was like were a music store...yes I can read the sign outside. I went to grab my phone because I thought maybe I was saying the item wrong. I showed her a picture she was like that says amazon, im like yes I know im just showing you a picture of what i was looking for. Then I told her my uncle said they sold the item he was looking for and she was like he must have some screws loose...did i mention she was rude??? Like mam do I know you?, so I pull up the website and it does say on the website they do sell it which I showed her she said oh they have to order it. How easy would that conversation had gone if she gave me a second to explain and look it up. I would never go there again, there are clearly better music stores in Charleston
