I had the best time offshore fishing with Whitney and Johnston. They are both hard working, accommodating and really know what they were doing. They are passionate about the outdoors and their customers. Good times and a cooler full of meat! I will definitely book again!

I am typically not one to post reviews, but the Four Sons Charters team deserve a shout out! This team is awesome! I took 6 guys out with me and we were all catching fish in no time. Capt. Johnston and his crew were amazing. I can’t say enough about how memorable this experience was. I think we will all be eating good for a while. They aren’t kidding when they say you’ll fill your cooler. I’ll definitely be back.

We booked an offshore/reef fishing trip on August 11, 2021, and it did not disappoint. I did extensive research for this fishing trip and we found 4 Sons Charters to be the most comfortable, honest, and reasonably priced. Captain Johnston and First mate Andrew were super accommodating, patient, funny and friendly. They helped every step of the way and gave detailed instructions before the trip. This family owned charter thought of everything to include beanbags (for a more comfortable ride), sunscreen, (if you forgot yours), bait, and freezer Ziploc bags for the cleaned fish fillets. If you want a fishing trip to feel inviting, relaxing, exciting, and like you are at home then choose 4 Sons Charters.

To begin with, 4 Sons Charter exceeded all of my expectations! The experiences and memories we made were truly once in a lifetime. From trolling for mahi mahi to catching an outrageous variety of fish on the bottom of the ocean, 4 Sons Charter did not disappoint. The crew was excellent and highly knowledgeable. Not only did we create wonderful memories, but we were also able to gather food to put on the table! I would not recommend any other charter company but 4 Sons Charter!

Wanted to give a shout out to 4 sons charters and “Captain Griffin”. We did a 6 hour inshore charter Friday and had a such a great time that we booked a second 6 hour charter the following Wednesday. Both days Captain Griffin put us on the fish. He’s a hard worker and very knowledgeable on the area and it’s fishery. Captain Griffin was excellent with my family, especially my two sons, who requested “we go again with Captain Griffin”. 4 sons charters answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed and communicated well. My husband and I recently had a friend from Illinois come visit. We were ecstatic to be able to book a trip with Four Sons Charters and take our friend offshore for the first time. Captain Johnston put us on mahi, bonita, and even a SAILFISH! The seas were rolling that morning and I didn’t feel well. The crew made me feel at ease and was patient with me while I adjusted to the motion. About an hour in, I was fine and reeled in everything I could! Whitney (mate) was SO FUN. We had an absolutely perfect day on the water thanks to 4 Sons. Johnston and Whitney worked their tails off to make sure everyone was reeling in fish. I’d recommend them to anyone and will be booking again next time I’m in Charleston!

Highly recommended. We did an 8hr trip. Boat was clean and the ride was comfortable. The Captin and Mate were very knowledgeable and polite. We caught enough fish to feed a family of six with left overs. In all it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend anyone looking for a deep sea charter to use 4 Sons.

If you’re looking for a charter in the Charleston area I 100% recommend 4 sons! We had an absolute blast with the captain and the mates, they catered to whatever we wanted/needed. Terrible experience over 4th of July weekend. I had booked a charter tour for 6 people, all of whom were flying in from out of state. Reservation was booked on a Wednesday, confirmed on a Thursday. That Saturday afternoon was again confirmed that four was a go for that Sunday. At 9:00 pm that night was cancelled on, given a lameexcuse that owner/captain forgot it was a holiday weekend. Only thing I received was a refund. I would not book with this guy, there was zero effort to try and make situation right.

This is the best offshore and inshore charter in Charleston. Captian griffin will put you on anything you want inshore and captain Johnston has you covered offshore. I’ve caught every species I’ve gone after with them.BOOK THEM IF YOU WANT FISH IN THE COOLER!

I am 60 years old and have chartered from Motauk NY to the Florida Keys.These two young men Johnston and mate Andrew got it goin on.They we’re polite humble and awesome fisherman.I intend to fish with these guys many times to come.We caught Amberjack oRed Snapper Pompano Trigger Porgy American Red Reef Shark it was nonstop arm shaking fun.These guys rule.Thanks so much Johnston and Andrew

Booked a combo trip (trolling and bottom fishing) with these guys and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Went out with three 13 year olds and 2 adults and tore up the fish. Excellent guides, great with the kids - an all out A+ professional operation. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be booking with them again.

These guys put us on the fish! 49 fish in about 5 hours! 32 Pompano, 2 King Mackerel, Red Snapper limit, Porgy, and Trigger Fish! We will be using them again!

This was a fantastic charter to be on. A bunch of down to earth guys that love to have fun and they put us on the X all day. Awesome boat and equipment. Both Hundley and Graham were incredibly helpful, while allowing us to have some independence. We were blessed with good weather and great company. Highly recommend this charter!

What a trip! Fishing always requires a little luck, but many times luck is a byproduct of preparation and hard work and that was certainly true for our fishing trip with Johnston and Tom. If I could give them more stars I would. They both worked hard to put us on the fish and they know the spots where to find them. My son had is heart set on catching a shark, first large fish we caught was a 7-8 foot bull shark, what a monster. Tom and Johnston worked hard to help my son land it. Also, Tom was an excellent teacher, helping us land approx. 35 fish in total. Toward the end of the trip, Johnston told us we had 1 hour left, I said i sure would like a shot at another big fish, 45 seconds later, Johnston called me over to fight an approx. 20 pound red snapper. I have fished in the Keys and also here in Charleston in the past 4 sons will be who I use going forward exclusively in Charleston. We will definitely be fishing with them again.

Captain Johnston and deck hand Campbell of Four Sons Charter were great to work with on this half day charter. Equipment and boat were top notch and the best out there on the fishing grounds. Look forward to some Mahi fishing next year.

Captain Johnston and First mate Hunley were awesome! This was our second time out with 4 sons. Not only are professional, super knowledge, but very down to earth. I would highly recommend booking them for your next fishing trip. We caught so many red snapper that we had to start throwing them back! We also caught a Huge Amber Jack, Baracuda and a Cobia, my arms were sore the next day from all the fishing action. The best day that I have ever had fishing!!!

Captain Johnston and his brother, First Mate Hundley, are some of the best guys you could want to go fishing with. This was our first offshore fishing trip with my 14 year old son and best friend. From the second we booked the trip Johnston was in contact with me figuring out my expectations and what he could do to make it the best trip possible. I decided on a half day trolling and half day bottom fishing to really give us some diversity and boy did these guys deliver. As soon as we showed up to the docks, they showed us around and off we were. The boat was big and fast and comfortable and quickly got us to where we were going to start our trolling. Within 5 minutes of setting up the lines my son was fighting the first Mahi Mahi. The fish were hitting hard and fast for that first couple of hours and there was nothing but excitement and smiles all around the boat. After a couple of hours and 9 amazing fish in the cooler we decided to go try our hand at some bottom fish. Captain Johnston put us right on the fish time and time again. We were reeling them in by the doubles. Snapper, triggerfish, BSB and a wide verity of fish. If the baits were still for more than a couple of minutes he would move us to another spot, true professional. And then the sharks, lol. We hooked into some sharks, well they decided our catch was looking good, and these were some big ones. The smile on my sons face when we watched that shark eat his snapper then the line started peeling off was priceless. I couldnt recommend these guys enough! Oh but wait theres more. The service and commitment didnt end at the docks, no sir. Not only did Captain Johnston sit there for almost an hour and a half cleaning and packaging our catch but then Hundley spent the next two day putting together a video he recorded, with his own equipment and at his own discretion. The videos were amazing and very thoughtful. Thanks so much for everything!
