Had a lightning strike that wreaked all kinds of electrical havoc in the house and especially the elevator. The company was very responsive, and focused on getting us up and running. 2 different technicians came over 4 appointments and both were very polite, professional and knowledgeable. I was surprised to read some of the bad reviews as the service we received was the exact opposite and we are very pleased.
DO NOT USE this company. Owner recommended I dont replace my elevator. They sold me expensive parts that the owner assured me would extend the life of the elevator. It didnt work and kept breaking down. They charged me to come look at it, and it would break down within days again. The owner was a great salesperson and then was completely dismissive and unresponsive to address the issues. These guys will eventually disappoint you and become super rude and arrogant once youre dissatisfied.
Our home elevator (installed by Coastal Elevator) had never worked properly. Coastal charged us thousands in repairs to fix the issues they caused. Coastal lied about replacing parts & sending them to the manufacturer for repairs. When I contacted Manufacturer after being suspicious, they claimed only 1 part was sent to them ( not 4) & it was covered under warranty, yet Coastal charged me & said it was was not under warranty...Then I found ESC elevator! I LOVE ESC ELEVATOR! They fixed the elevator & its been working great. I wish they would install residential elevators since they are obviously one of the best.ESC elevator freed me from the hell Coastal Elevator created.Do the right thing, use ESC elevator & do not get ripped off by coastal.
This is THE elevator company in the Charlesten area. They fixed the mess that another company created. If you need an elevator installed, repaired or service, this is the company! They are responsive and quick. Our elevator, installed by a horrible company called Coastal, had multiple serious issues. ESC fixed everything at a reasonable rate and very quickly. Thank you ESC
We have several accounts with this company with our short term rental business. Well lets just say we had several accounts with this company. Their service has been declining for years now and today the owner of the company got in a shouting match with my wife and was arguing about whether or not his service person called her on Friday (which he did not). She kept reiterating that he did not call her and the owners response was are you calling me a liar. Very childish and we have taking our accounts elsewhere.
Rudest people I have seen in the industry, they want to also charge you as they please... when you ask for an explanation they get in your face and insult you.Take your money somewhere else.
They no longer install elevators. They’ll service anything, but stopped providing installations and don’t recommend anyone for installations. It’s challenging to have them service an elevator that can never be installed?
A lightening strike fried all the electrical controls which operate our elevator. ESC diagnosed the problem and did a complete reinstall of all new and partly OSHA (or some Fed org.) required safety features. Once the parts arrived, ESC took two days to do the work--all new wiring as well as the computer parts . Throughout the entire process this firm was very professional and pleasant to deal with Our elevator continues to work well and needed no further adjustment after the install.W. B. Seabrook Island
Jeff and Karl. What can I say. They came a day early and had it fixed in no time. Not even mad that it was our fault. Love these guys. And never going anywhere else.
Called ESC to service our elevator when the pump tripped resulting in the elevator bottoming out. The technicians arrived and manually shut the motor contacts which they told me would force reset the pump. The elevator started working again and they explained some of the safety features and told me that since they just inspected it a few months earlier, they would not need to inspect inside the shaft and that the technician would do that during its annual inspection in 9 months.Fast forward 9 months and esc is again out for the annual inspection. 2 minutes into the inspection and the tech points out that one of the cables was wrapped around the hydraulic supply line to the ram. He then informed me that due to the tension normally on the cables, the only way this could have happened was if the elevator bottomed out at some point allowing slack in the cables, at which point I reminded him that esc was out 9 months earlier for that exact situation. He then informed me that due to the friction of the cable, the hydraulic piping was catostophically damaged and required replacement, further he informed me that the elevator was unsafe and locked it in the maintenance position between the 2nd and 3rd story and charged us $188 dollars for diagnostics. The following day, we received a quote for $923 to replace the hydraulic line, add oil, and perform the annual inspection.Knowing that this could havehave, and should have been prevented by simply verifying the proper positioning of the cables after the slack cable event 9 months earlier, we called ESC to see about discounting the repairs. Mind you, we werent asking for free repairs or threatening legal action for the improper repair that put our family in the unnecessary danger of an open ended hydraulic shear and rapid hydraulic ram depressurization while the elevator was on the third story with us in it. We just were asking for discounted labor. We were finally able to speak to the owner, Charlie, who told me that the repairman did inspect for proper cable routing 9 months ago when the elevator bottomed, and that we were either lying or ignorant to what we were watching the repairman do when they came out 9 months earlier. Interesting statement considering they were only there for 10 minutes total and definitely did not inspect the elevator shaft at all. This company does not stand by there work, does not demonstrate accountability, lacks integrity, and does not deserve your business..As a side note, we called another local elevator company who confirmed that this would have been caught during a proper post repair inspection and ended up repairing our elevator and inspecting it for $490.
Request a technician and told it would be a week before someone could come out when other companies respond within 24 hours. The lady answering the phone wanted to argue with me and suggest other options. Not the kind of customer service I would expect. I would not allow them to work on any elevator in my
