Beautiful apartment homes! I wanted to give a special thanks to Ariana (one of the leasing consultants) for her assistance in helping us choose the perfect apartment. She answered all of our questions and gave us a detailed tour of all the amenities in a prompt, professional manner. The Heyward is a super dog friendly and safe environment with an awesome clubhouse / gym. Definitely ask for Ariana if you’re interested in moving here! I love it!!

I had an apartment with them for a year and used the AT&T service they provided. When I was moving out the cable boxes were left in the apartment the day before I moved out. I realized the day after I needed to send the boxes back myself so I went back to the apartment and talked with someone in the office. We both went back to the apartment (24 hours after I moved out) and the boxes were gone. She told me that they had cleaners that clean them out and maybe the maid had moved the boxes. I continued to follow up with them until they told me that they “outsourced” the cleaning services and had no control of what the maids do and they probably threw them out (AKA STOLE THEM). What type of cleaning service throws away cable boxes that is CLEARLY partnered with the complex. Now I am responsible for paying $600 bill to AT&T and they had no intent on helping me figure it out. Seems like after paying over $1,500 a month for a one bedroom they shouldn’t have a cleaning service that steals left over things out of apartments within 24 hours of leaving.

As one of the first residents of the newly-constructed Heyward, Ive given great reviews before. Weve been so happy living here, with gorgeous interiors, beautifully maintained landscaping, and exceptional management. I do have to reach out this time to give a shout-out about the maintenance: truly professional, attentive, experienced, responsive,.....I could go on and on. Leonard and his team are the best....recently had a dishwasher go south, and just knew it would be a long fix or replacement. Leonard jumped right on it, opened it up, and like a rocket scientist, had the whole thing working better than before in no time. He knows his stuff -- even the hard stuff. Thanks, Leonard for being so skilled and personable!!

Had the pleasure of using the guest suite over the weekend. Beautiful property and amenities. 24/7 clubhouse and gym. Nice and quiet too. Thanks for having us!

Moved into the Heyward a few months ago . Beautiful apartment home ! First - There’s never any parking ! We have parking decals but constantly have random cars taking up spaces . Second- My neighbors above me have to be running a circus over my head! I have complained several times to the office and nothing has stopped . It actually got worst as if they’re doing it on purpose! I complained several times about a “surround sound system “ that constant beats and vibrates my entire apartment every night and nothing has been done ! They say they reached out but obviously NOT ! It’s ridiculous! I will be breaking my lease soon . Start complaining and the whole approach is different with the staff! Not fair to pay 1300 a month to not enjoy peace and quiet !

Leonard the head of the maintenance team at The Heyward is absolutely terrific. He goes above and beyond to help and make you feel at home. He is responsive, professional and very kind.

Absolutely LOVE living here at the Heyward! This is our second lease and plan on living here for a few more! We signed by chance while living in NC, having never seen the place and we lucked out! Savannah was so helpful every step of the way! I can’t say enough about her and the rest of the staff! Truly amazing! Can’t forget the maintenance guys, they are on top of it and always friendly! Everyone I have ever come in contact with here as far as neighbors have been so friendly and kind. We truly feel at home here and I’ve lived in many places and have never felt that way! They throw awesome events and always have food trucks lined up for the month as well! Don’t hesitate!! Move in already!! ;)

The Heyward is the epitome of quality apartment living. When I first entered the clubhouse where the office is located, I fell madly in love with it. The team is professional and courteous. The maintenance guy, Leonard, is exceptionally nice. He is always positive and goes the extra mile to make everyone feel at home. Try The Heyward, and you will Like it!!

Home is the best word to describe what its like living at the Heyward. Ive lived here for nearly 2 years and I dont see myself leaving anytime soon. The atmosphere is family -- meaning the people that live and work here treat you as such; you feel safe and at home. The apartments themselves, yes they are beautiful, spacious, CLEAN, and very well thought-out that makes for easier living. The amenities at the Heyward stand apart from the rest. But whats all that without proper management, people who genuinely care? Thats why I love living here. The team -- Savannah, Jen, Susie, and Leonard are incredible, easy to talk to, easy to contact, efficient in their work. If there is any issue at all, it is handled with ease and a sense of urgency. 10/10 recommend.

We moved to Charleston from Nashville in October 2019, and The Heyward has been awesome in our transition to a new city! We signed a lease the same day we toured and knew it was a perfect fit for us. The office staff are amazing and great at communicating with residents. They go above and beyond to make the community a fun place to live with events in the clubhouse, contests, and food trucks. The maintenance staff are also great, super kind and attentive. We truly love it here!

I’ve been here for a year now and it was the best decision I made, moving from Bees & Ferry Apartment. When I first took my tour and walked outside to the pool, I felt like I was at a resort! The staff is amazing and always available (including maintenance), we have awesome gatherings every month or so, food trucks come stationed by the mailbox quite often, the residents are super friendly, and the club house is one of a kind! I’ve just renewed my lease for another year and happy about it!

I moved into the Heyward apartments over two years ago. I can say all of my experiences have been extremely positive! The amenities, maintenance, the front desk, etc. The community is very quiet- perfect for someone who worked from home even before COVID. When I put in a routine maintenance request, all have been completed super fast. The pool and gym are large and always clean. The residents are all very friendly and kind. Oh and how can I forget- these apartments are BEAUTIFUL! You truly cannot go wrong with living here. I promise!

I recently moved from James Island to the Heyward and it is a dream! 10/10 recommended. The amenities offered by the Heyward are beautifully set up and always CLEAN! Ariana Reyes, who works in the leasing office at the Heyward, is always willing to help with any situation you may come across. Move here now!!

Its a great place! Friendly staff, 24/7 gym access, pool and office center should you need to get some things done. Its also a great place to meet new people as they are brand new apartments.

My fiance and I just moved from out of state and we immediately felt a sense of community. The staff is absolutely amazing between the women in the leasing office and the maintenance staff. They are on top of everything and so quick to respond.

The Heyward has been the best apartment complex I have lived in Charleston. The maintenance team are extremely responsive and the office ladies are so friendly and helpful any time I have a question. This place is perfect if youre a young professional just starting out. Everything is modern, bright, and beautiful! Heyward always has monthly resident events. Ive met so many of my neighbors! Its nice being able to just walk down to the clubhouse and see friendly faces. Wish I could give them 6 stars!

Great staff and beautiful apartments

Beautiful apartments with gorgeous views!! Very spacious floor plans. The attention to detail with the built in book shelves, large kitchen with granite counter tops and high ceilings give these luxury apartments a modern yet charming feel. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The social events get everyone involved, I always look forward to them! Not to mention at least one food truck a month, sometimes more! I have never loved a place I’ve lived as much as Heyward.

I love living here! The office team is awesome and the amenities are top notch. Definitely the best apartment community I have ever lived at!

Great apartment with updated amenities. Beautiful pool and nature trail. My personal favorite thing is the dog park (and pet spa) located in the neighborhood. The office staff puts together monthly events, food trucks, and get togethers for residents. Highly recommend.

The Heyward is a wonderful and beautiful new community in West Ashley. The grounds, community, and apartments are all updated and modern looking. The office staff are great and throw lots of events for the residents multiple times per month. Would highly recommend checking it out if youre in the market.

The Heyward has been a disappointing experience. At move in, my apartment was brand new. No one had lived in it previously. It was very dirty from sitting empty since construction and had significant maintenance issues from the start. The unit’s washing machine and air conditioning were broken right when I moved in. It took almost three weeks to get the washing machine repaired. Meanwhile, I had to walk my clothes to the empty unit next door to do laundry. I’m not sure what they would’ve done if that unit hadn’t been sitting empty. The air conditioning had a leak from the time I moved in. Coolant was being replaced in it about once a month during the hot months (after about ~25 days it blows humid hot air). I’m still unsure if it’s been fully repaired. The upkeep around my building specifically leaves much to be desired. The breezeway of my building is green with algae and mold and my unit smells musty no matter how often it is cleaned. It appears as though there’s a moisture problem. Lastly, the parking is a horrendous nightmare. Each “unit” is given one decal (no matter how many cars you have) and any cars without a decal must park in “guest” parking. As a result, guest parking is constantly full and leaves residents who have multiple vehicles no where to park without the risk of being towed (which happens at random). The staff is very friendly until you start to have problems and then they seem to be indifferent about your concerns. I am looking forward to moving back to Talison Row at Daniel Island where I had a much better experience.

We have lived he for a little over a month now I believe and it is wonderful. Very polite staff. If you need anything done all you do is ask. Car wash is easily accessible. Beautiful and well thought out design plans. Overall wonderful place to live. Well worth the money.

The Heyward is perfect. My Wife and I relocated to Charleston nearly a year ago. We have recently been looking for a new place that is affordable, modern, and in a good location. The Heyward was able to fit all of our needs. The leasing staff was extremely helpful in making sure we were fully satisfied and happy with our decision to move. We love the open floor plans, natural light, and updated fixtures/appliances that truly make the home look and feel luxurious. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to move here and plan to be long term tenants!

I love living at The Heyward! Everyone is so friendly. I love how prompt the maintenance team is and how friendly and helpful the office girls are! Everything is within 10 minutes for shopping! Im so glad I renewed another year!

I just toured these apartments this morning and all I can say is wow! Beautiful, amazing amenities, friendly staff, awesome location! Everything is clean and brand new when I lived here - great amenties and community but I really give it up for the management here - they literally are awesome and will go beyond to make sure you enjoy living here.

My boyfriend and I came to check this place out today. We walked into the leasing office and a consultant saw us, made eye contact and went about her business. We toured the clubhouse and amenitities by ourselves and had to go ask to see a unit. The first unit we saw (2 bedroom) had extremely small bedrooms. We went back to the office and bc it was raining she decided she would give us a key to go look at another unit because she didnt want to get rained on. Lastly, the deposit is outrageous! $500 per person.Side note- Bees Ferry Apartment had a consultant who was so pregnant she was about to pop, and she walked us in the pouring rain to a unit, customer service goes a long way...

Tucked back off the 17 so you cant hear the noise! Very clean & modern design. Absolutely LOVE the pool set up & access to grills. Coudlnt be more pleased with our decision to move here. It is not far from nearly everything here in Charleston.. 15/20 mins to folly beach, 25 mins to IOP & sullivans, & close to downtown. Not to mention, about 10 mins up from Avondale. Love living here! Very well thought floor plans & amenities. The gym is top of the line for an apartment as well.
