My girlfriend and I got a pedicure on Monday. It was one of the best! Cheapest price around too!

Nina/Crystal helped me quickly, promptly, and did a great job! I felt welcome and treated wonderfully! I will definitely be back!

Decided to try this establishment as a walk in after I got off work...well... I walked in and there was a young lady waiting and another lady being serviced with a removal of product from nail (basically soaking) No employee looked up, no one said hello, no one said I will be with you in a moment, no one said nothing. I stood their for about 10 minutes... and still nothing....I asked the customer waiting were they only doing appointments and she stated she called in and they told her to come in, at which point after still not being spoke to I left...I will not be going back...it is common courtesy especially if one is spending money at your business to greet a customer and at least tell them the wait time, that you are only doing appointments, or that you will be with them in a moment....please do better!

Malibu does your nails excellent for cheap but its popularity makes it hard to get much done, plan to wait a solid bit for some service. When you get it, you wont regret it though!

Malibu is hands down the best nail salon in Chapel Hill. In the two years I have been getting my nails done there, I have always been thrilled with my color and the quality of the polish. The only issue Ive ever had is waiting a while to get a seat, but I know now to not go if Im in a rush. Ill trade quality nails over a quick in and out any day. Love this place, Nina is the best and everyone here is great. Thanks so much!! ❤️

Got gel polish put on my nails and it was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The polish was so sticky yet she kept at it.. the lamp almost burned my hands and when I made a comment she told me to “keep in inside”. Upon payment I asked them did they give a student discount (which is stated in big bold letters on their door) and another lady walks up with an attitude saying “no we don’t do that I don’t care“ to which I responded “oh I’m sorry it’s just stated on your door”. Don’t waste your time or money here.

The only place I will get my nails done in Chapel Hill. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is amazing. I have starting bringing all my friends with me and they love it too! Do yourself and your nails a favor and go there!

The staff and services are all incredible!! Their prices are extremely reasonable. They all work hard to help you have a wonderful, relaxing experience while making sure you have healthy nails. They do take walkins, but because they are so good I recommend calling ahead for an appointment as spaces fill up quickly! Theyll work you in if they can and make an appointment if theyre full. Im super impressed!!!

This is a pretty good nail salon. I get SNS and have never had to wait long for my service. I have been pleased with the end product, although it does seem to take some the techs longer to complete the set. The salon itself is not a beautiful place, however it is less pricey than other Chapel Hill salons. What keeps me coming back it the HUGE selection of SNS colors. More than any other salon Ive been to in Chapel Hill. The owner is super knowledgeable about colors and bends over backwards to make sure its just the right one.

My nails were fine and prices were good, but if youre in a rush this is not the place for you! It took them three hours for not even a pedicure, just a simple polish change on my toes and a gel manicure. I was waiting for an hour and a half before I was helped and they served five other girls who came in after me before they starting helping me. When I approached one of the employees about it, she didnt seem to care. Terrible service.

Went to this salon as I was in town for a wedding and needed a manicure and pedicure. First things first, if this had not been an urgent/last minute matter, I would have walked right out. The place is not clean in the slightest... Next, I came in at 11:00 on a Saturday. As I know, weekends are the busiest days, but I should not wait an hour before even being asked to pick out the color I wanted. I asked one of the technicians how long it would be since I needed to leave by 3 (4 hours from my arrival time). After I stated this, a woman finally came over and began my nails. I explained that if she would not be able to complete my hands and feet in the time allotted, I would need my toes done as a priority- I was assured both could be done. She definitely sped through my nails and rushed me over to the pedicure chair. Now $70 gona and less than 4 days later, the gel polish used has chipped off two of my nails and I have an seriously sore big toe.

They were 45 minutes late to begin my appointment and salon not very clean. There was water all over the ground and poor sanitation standards by reusing towels for customers. I wont go back here. Lots of better nail salons nearby.

They are always super busy, which is a good sign because it shows that their services are good. I would recommend making an appointment versus a walk-in. Nina is my favorite! She cares about healthy nails and making sure you get exactly what you want!

Came in as a walk-in, waited about 10-15 minutes, and got a great pedicure!! Was there around an hour total and I was happy with my experience!

Hit or miss. This place is very unprofessional, unorganized, and a waste of time. If you’re looking for a cheap gel manicure, you’re in the right place. You might even get lucky and it’ll be a good one that lasts for a while. I’ve been here several times out of sheer convenience and I’ve had very mixed experiences. However, each time, it took way too long. Staff is nice, just very annoyingly slow.

Be aware that even if you schedule an appointment, youll still be waiting for more than hour after you arrive. They dont care if they make you late for something else, and Ive had to reschedule several times because of this.

Convenience and raving reviews from friends kept me coming back, but I think its overpriced for the quality of work they provide. Ive had poor paint jobs on my pedicures, been nipped multiple times in the cuticles to the point where I dread taking warm showers or washing my hands DAYS after. It stings, because I have cuts on my cuticles. I can understand once or twice, but EVERY TIME? No, thats unacceptable and unsanitary. I have even told them to avoid cutting my cuticles, because they keep cutting me, but they consistently do it despite my warning. They were the first place ever where I had cuts on my cuticles during a pedicure...I gave it so many chances, because of the raving reviews from friends, but I cant anymore. Certain individuals do a decent job i.e. Nina, Nee. But if its not them, it may not be that great. And even if you make an appointment with them, be prepared to wait an extra half hour past the appointment time at least, because they stay BUSY. And mainly because of Ninas work. A nail salon cant survive on the work of one nail technician.I really wanted to like this place more, but for the price Im paying compared to other places Ive been to (Im originally from Florida, so theyre all about nails with its 24/7 sandal weather at reasonable prices), its just not worth it anymore.They are great and friendly people, but that can only go so far when it comes to the unnecessary pain I was experiencing thereafter. Maybe with more training of the other nail technicians, they can rise to 4-stars, maybe even 5-stars, because they are a sweet bunch. Just not greatest quality of nail service.

Had an appointment and still waited 40 minutes for them to start my nails. Was there for over 2 hours for a dip manicure. Staff was aggressive and rude. Final product was great, but experience was terrible.

I made an appointment and showed up promptly. I waited probably 45 minutes and they kept telling me they would start and that they would be done by whatever time I needed to leave. They took about 30 minutes past the time they promised they would be done.

Jimmy and Nina are amazing. Each time they do a perfect job with my nails, the shellac never chips, my cuticles look healthy and Im always happy walking out. Reasonably priced too. Best in the chapel hill Carrboro area!

Fabulous first experience! They got me in 20 minutes before my scheduled visit, and the owner did an amazing job on my gel manicure. Ive been all over Chapel HIll, Raleigh, and Charlotte for gel manicures and this is hands down my new favorite place. The price is the lowest I have ever paid and the quality was excellent!

Left bleeding with a color that was very different from the one I chose. Unevenly shapes nails with polish all around them. Went to pay and realized they don’t take America Express.Sure they were busy. Still not an excuse for the service I received. Never again.

Malibu nails has a large issue with scheduling appointments and then not honoring them. The past two times I attended Malibu Nails, I waited an hour after my appt time one time and 30 minutes the next time. I understand they were under-staffed, but I was told to come in at a specific time and was still not serviced in a reasonable time period. Secondly, the process to complete SNS is very slow. Expect to be there for about an hour+ just for the service, not including the wait time. While I do like the way they do SNS, my nails have already chipped after a week with SNS....unacceptable for a $40 nail service. I do not recommend this salon based on their in-ability to honor appointment times and complete services in a timely manner.

My gel nails have lasted almost an entire month. The service was excellent and the prices were unbeatable. I will definitely be back!

First its SUPER TINY and in the pedicure area youre practically on your neighbors lap!Second, I was the first one in and somehow the last one out. Excuse me, but why would you do my pedicure, then have me wait for an hour for my full set?! AND take others over me that came in AFTER! I had to leave without a full set because I waited for over an hour.Go elsewhere. The size of the place is a turn off from the start. Theres only 4 workers.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had. Apart from the waiting time even if you have an appointment, the gel manicure and the nail shaping was done very poorly. My nails started chipping on the sides and their form changed in a matter of hours. Don’t waste your money.

I am writing so others may learn from my mistake. I have been going to this salon with Nina doing my SNS nails for a good while. Sometimes I had to wait a little while but she always tried to get to me as soon as possible. However, I was always pleased with my nails.Then one day I passed by another salon and went in to get my face waxed. They asked me where did I go to get my nails done. They convinced me that they do SNS nails also and you do not have any wait time. I was excited about no wait time and I could just walk in. However, from the beginning of using them I was never happy with my nails. I had watched Nina do every process and I did not see this salon go through these steps. Therefore my end results was not the same professional taste. Please be mindful when you are impatience and switch without the person doing anything wrong. Always be willing to go back if you made a misjudgment.Then when I decided to go back I battled with my thoughts of maybe I should keep seeking other places. I stopped and told my thoughts of shame and embarrassment I was going back no matter what. I did and they treated me with great respect and acceptance and my nails are beautiful.

The price is right. The workmanship is excellent IF YOU DO NOT ASK FOR NAIL ART, even with a picture. Rather than notifying me that they do not have the skill for it, they went ahead and did it and of course it looked ludicrous. Even though I expressed my disappointment I was still charged, albeit half price. So for the ladies that like their nail art, this aint the place for it.

Prices are good but staff is not upfront about the amount of time you will wait. Waited one hour only to leave without receiving the service.

They are absolutely the best nail salon I have experienced, I have been other places that are higher priced and does not compare close to malibu nails. They are awesome and I refuse to go anywhere else even in desperate time of need. Thank you for being so professional and reasonable prices.

I love Malibu Nails. Only $25 for a gel manicure and $50 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I tend to go on off days and times so I cant comment on the wait but it is a small studio and I can see where they might run into issues. I have had gel manicures done all over the triangle and they never look as good or last as long as when I get them done at Malibu.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! You dont tell a customer to never come back because of having weird looking toe nails. Its not the persons fault! And they cut them too short! Seems like ALL Asian run nail places they are RUDE! You dont run a business like that! NEVER go to these Asian run places again!

I love this place! I will never go anywhere else! They do a wonderful job with pedicures and manicures at a reasonable price, and they are always super nice.

I understand that there was a wait--a long one, so I wont count it against them. But the service was terrible. Most of the staff isnt friendly. The guy who did my nails was terrible at filing and polishing. Find another place to go.

Pros: good price, seems to be good quality for a simple mani-pedi, massage chairs are nice, they managed to fit us in last minute on a Friday.Cons: ended up with two different colors on my mani-pedi despite picking out one (didnt realize till walking outside in the light), pedi water temp was lukewarm, mani felt rushed and I have a chip in less than a day.Mom had much better technicians than me; I think some may need more training.

I had an appointment set for 4:10 , waited for an hour. The place is really tiny and looks really cheap. Service was bad. No one greeted me when I walked in, our even said anything till after 30 minutes of waiting . Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone....

Horrible customer service. Ive gone multiple times and they dont respect appointment times. The main lady was incredibly rude when I asked her how much longer for my appointment- after I had been waiting for15 minutes. Dont waste your time going there.

Called ahead today and scheduled an appointment at 5:30 because I know they are super busy!! I also mentioned to the person on the phone that I needed to be somewhere at 6:30 & ge said no problem to come at 5:30. Arrived 5 mins early, picked out my color and waited for 10 mins. After receiving a call from my fiancé, he recommended that I leave. The guy Im assuming overheard my conversation and asked me to come sit and put my hands in the bowl. I did, while he continued to work with another customer of a different race. I dried my hands looked at my phone for the time it had been another 10 mins. I kindly asked the guy how long would it take for a gel manicure he replied as 10 more minutes for the customer he was working with. Pissed off because it had been almost 30 mins past my scheduled appointment. I grabbed my bag and told the owner what was going. She was really nasty towards to me, with an attitude said if you want your nails done then go sit down. I said absolutely not because this hsppens all the time with you guys when I come in here and you will not get my $25 for him to rush and do a poor job because I had to be somewhere at a certain time and I left!!! I will NEVER go back to this place, EVER AGAIN!!! Honestly they cater to only a certain type of people!!!
