Commonwealth replaced half of my roof, which was never done correctly by my builder. Their service and communication was excellent. Within a week of the signed contract, they were on site working. Laura in the office kept us informed throughout the process and Edwin was an excellent on site crew chief. Would certainly recommend.

We found out we had a leaky roof. Commonwealth was recommended to us by one of our contractors. We had already interviewed one company and wanted two more quotes. After meeting with Johnny we canceled our next appointment and signed on the dotted line with Commonwealth. He was great to work with and so knowledgeable. My experience with this company was a nightmare. Would not recommend to anyone. They put a hole in the drive way when dropping off the materials and con man johnny was quick to threaten a lean on the house when i told him we were not going to pay until the whole was fixed. They never did fix the hole that they caused. DONT USE THESE GUYS, use anyone else and save yourself the headache.

Great experience with Commonwealth Roofing. I especially liked their infrared (?) equipment that quickly revealed some leaks that were originating in a whole other area than I had suspected. No other roofer offered this as part of their initial evaluation. We contracted for roof plus larger gutters and all work was done efficiently -- even the tricky downspout under the deck. They were diligent about protecting new landscaping too which I appreciated. Would definitely use them again.

The sales rep Edwin was knowledgeable and straightforward. The quote for the work came in at 2/3 other contractors quotes. The work was done on time and quickly. Darren and Matt were on the roof in very hot weather and Darren completed the job quickly with no issues. The job would have been completed more quickly but I shopped a few more roof contractors to compare quotes. Very satisfied. job very well done.

We used Commonwealth after two neighbors used for full roof replacement of large roofs. Third neighbor used for repairs. A storm chasing company came through the neighborhood aggressively trying to sell roof repairs and we called Commonwealth instead based on multiple neighbors positive experiences. Commonwealth was one of two roofers recommended to me by another trade- I contacted them and met with Johnny, who fully explained the options available to me. We discussed restrictions I had due to HOA.Johnny also placed a tarp on a portion of the roof which was exposed due to strong winds the prior week. We had a beautiful new roof installed by Commonwealth Roofing this Summer. Johnny, their sales rep/coordinator, came out to the house and looked at our roof from top to bottom. He even shimmied up the tiny access doors in our closets to look closely at the condition of the decking from the attic side of the roof. Ive been up there and its hot and dusty. So Im pleased that a company would look so closely at a job before they fairly bid it rather than wait and hope for costly surprises once the work begins. And like motto says, there was no high pressure, no gimmicks and no bull. He gave us an estimate with three options that were fair without any pressure to pick one or the other. Moreover, the company put no pressure on us while we applied for a home equity loan, but showed up within the week after we signed the contract. They installed a beautiful roof and gutters within a couple of days and followed up to insure we were satisfied with everything. Its a great company with good people and Id highly recommend you get their bid before you consider anyone else.

We had roof work done by another contractor to repair a hole created by a downed tree branch and cracks in the ridge vent shingles. Mike and crew are amazing! Came out on time, as scheduled, and worked their butts off. Had great recommendations for improvements (upgrades from a dated roof) and their price was fair. Upon final walk-through, Mike noticed a few cleanup issues (total minutia--I wouldnt have even known to look) and is sending his crew back out to make the work pristine this week. I was very impressed with the professionalism, quick response, and excellent job by this company in repairing my roof and replacing the shingles (all of them) following a heavy rainstorm and over 50 mph winds. Upon my initial phone call, I encountered a receptionist with a can-do attitude who worked with me to arrange for two contractors to visit and inspect my roof as quickly as possible. Once a date had been arranged to do the work, the work crew showed up on time, performed the work and did an excellent job of cleaning up the grounds and driveway. A contractor returned several days later to inspect the roof and provide photos for me to see what they had done. I commend the company for a job well done, and I would highly recommend them for future work!!

Roof repair half the price of another company and did a great job.

We called these guys to come out and check out our roof because we thought we might be missing some shingles. They came out the very next day to look at it for us. On time and pleasant to deal with. He did not waste any time... Got right up on to the roof, called me from up there and told me there was no issue. What looked like missing shingles from the ground was actually darker shingles that had already been replaced. I felt bad having them come all this way for a mistake by us, but the guy was so great about it. He didnt even charge us for the visit. (I know about a hundred other companies that would have!!) Anyway, I would highly recommend them and if I ever do need roof work done,.I would not hesitate to call them again.

Had a small leak in the torrential rain last weekend. Called two reputable roofing companies who were very busy, which was to be expected. But, I was told about this company, called them at 5:30 p.m. - and they were at my house less than two hours later. Turned out to be a nail hole and they caulked it there and then. I will need a new roof in a couple of years, so I will be using them for sure.

Commonwealth identified a leak and fixed a gap in my roofs flashing. When the leak was discovered to have been coming from another source, they pinpointed the issue (which was in our plumbing) and worked with us to provide a steep discount on the job they had completed. Good customer service, easy to get a hold of and plumbers are available when you need them.

I had several roof companies come out to inspect our roof after we had a kitchen leak. I was advised by 2 that we needed a new roof -- not a small investment. I was given Mikes name and he came out immediately. He is The Real Deal! He was the first one to be honest and advised we should do a small repair and wait out the roof replacement until the current one really needs replacing. A 24k+ job turned into a $600 one! What a relief and what a great guy! I cant recommend them any more highly - do yourself and your wallet a great favor and call Commonwealth for a 2d opinion TODAY!

Very Professional from estimate to finished product. Edwin was honest, friendly and fair when he gave the estimate. At the time of the estimate I also requested he ( Edwin) complete the work that was contracted. Edwin made sure he was available to help Ismael completed the work needed . Ismael was also very professional, friendly and very particular and precise with his work. Greg Campbell in the office also follow suite of professionalism and help setup repair date and time and even sent pics of the work that was being done . From estimate to completion of work was less than 2 weeks and could have been completed at an earlier date but I delayed it due to being out of town.. We needed a roof vent installed in our townhouse. Many companies wouldnt do such a small job. But Commonwealth Roofing did and they did a great job.

Commonwealth did a great job on my home. The roofing crew was incredibly hard-working. They cleaned up debris from the old roof while the new roof installation was ongoing, and finished the job in less than the estimated time. Mike Fontaine will spend time with you to determine exactly what you need, and will not sell you anything you dont need. We had a small issue with the gutter installation. When he came out for a final inspection of the job, he detected this issue and saw to it that it was promptly rectified. Mike will work with other contractors to ensure that the timing of roof and gutters installation with are coordinated with other parts of the job. Overall, a five star experience.

Please excuse the length of the review. If you are in a hurry then whatyou should know is that this is a solid stable company that really tries to deliver for their clients. It seems to come from the top from the owner Mike Fontaine. He will find a way to make his estimates conform to your needs but he will not sacrifice on quality or safety. John Locke (not the philosopher), the company’s field consultant and coordinator takes great pride in his crews and their obvious abilities.Two of my neighbors, both real estate agents with long experience, wanted to replace their roofs which had been showing wear and age. I decided to observe how and whom they chose as their contractor. They had 3 estimates from reputable mid-sized firms that don’t spend on advertising but rather relied on word of mouth. These companies have a history of working with referrals from realtors and other professionals who know about their business. One of the firms was Commonwealth Roofing and Siding. Commonwealth won the bids on both jobs. I watched their crews do an utterly professional job installing the roofs on time and on budget. While Mr. Locke was on the job site I asked and received an estimate for my roof.I decided to wait until next spring to decide on the roof. A November storm intervened. On a late Thursday afternoon, a large tree crashed onto our roof and side of the house. It is difficult to convey that sense of “What do I do, who do I call?”. I did call my insurance company and they were helpful but all they could do was to give me some names of companies that would seal up the breakage. They were just names on a list.I called John Locke. Within 45 minutes Commonwealth roofing was at the house with Mike Fontaine and their tree consultant John Pfeiffer. More support arrived and three hours later the roof was sealed (in the dark) and the tree was removed off the house.The next step was the insurance adjuster who came 2 days later and walked through the damage with Mr. Fontaine. They conferred and reports were filed. Mr. Fontaine urged me to be patient. There would be several more report addendums that would have to be done before the final amount of the damage could be calculated. It would be best to know what we had to work with in order repair the house properly. Mr. Fontaine and the adjuster filed more reports and, in a few weeks, and a few more conversations with the insurance company all agreed with the assessments. The work started in a couple of weeks and factoring the wintery weather all went well. The siding, roofing, and gutter crews all knew what they were doing and did their work cheerfully and efficiently.Later after the work was done I had to reflect on the project. The major thing that stood out aside from the excellent work was Commonwealth’s level of experience in working with insurance companies. They are familiar with the software and coding used by various insurance companies. They are able to work in a reasonable way with any practical minded insurance adjuster. It was a real asset to get down to what was really possible and get it done without leaving anything on the table that would have helped you get the house repaired. This may be a side of their skill that you don’t see because you are just putting on a new roof. It is good to know though that they have the skills to do all kinds of roofing repairs. They are flexible and can adjust to the challenge at hand. This is experience that does not come from being a fly by night operation, it is a testament to a solid company that takes its products and service seriously.Their prices are competitive as they have to be in order to have a sustainable business. They know their costs. They are reasonable and will work with you if possible. They are proud of their work as they should be. They know who they are.

These guys replaced our roof and sidings. They provided great and fast estimate to us and the prices were very fair. They also had great customer services afterwards when we had a small issue and were very fast to respond!

We were very happy with their work on a roof replacement. We had some earlier estimates, but Commonwealth Roofing & Siding really stood out from the crowd. The estimate was made by the company owner, who was also the first guy to actually climbed on a roof to check and measure it beforehand. The estimate was much lower than from the other companies while offering comparable product, it was also delivered without high pressure tactics. Most of the work was done in a day by a large crew, with few details done later. They also did a very good job cleaning afterwards.

Having been burned by multiple roofers in the past (including one lawsuit and one flooded house), I was concerned and *very* particular about getting a new roof on our townhouse.Commonwealth was way ahead of the other contractors we engaged during the bidding process, and got our work primarily because of their attention to detail and provision of documentation (insurance, etc.) up front without having been asked. It didnt hurt that their price was very in line with others that didnt seem nearly as professional in their communications, planning, and organization...However, the real test of any business is how they treat the customer after the sale, when the work is done and paid for. Our roof wasnt quite perfect but their team was more than willing to come back immediately and address the (admittedly minor) question I raised after it was completed.No excuses. No dodging responsibility. Real integrity.

Requested for them to come out and repair my roof , as my neighbor and I got the exact same damage (connected town-homes). Lady on the phone wasnt sure about pricing and said it was up to the manager if they wanted to waive a fee to come out. Guy came out and ripped my siding off, then continued to say he didnt have the same color, only the one thats in his truck. Guy was unnecessarily rude, as though he as doing us a favor. We asked him to call and see if he could match the color on the home- he replied by telling us to call another company. So now we have a ripped side panel and no replacement.

I was referred to Mike at Commonwealth Roofing by a friend in our neighborhood. We had some damage that we were not sure about and had no idea to tell if our roof was in bad shape or not. Mike came out promptly and did a thorough walkaround and confirmed that we had some hail damage. I then went with my insurance company to file a claim and he even met the adjuster when he showed up and answered all the adjusters questions. The job was approved and his guys worked the entire day and did an excellent job. They did a very good job cleaning up as well. I also had some gutter guards that they initially didnt put back in but Mike sent a guy out a couple days later even though they usually dont install old gutter guards. Overall, I was extremely pleased and will most definitely be recommending him to friends in the area who need new roofs.
