Master jeong/tiger den is THE BEST!! My son has gained so much confidence since we started and his focus has improved tremendously as well. We are so happy we made the decision to enroll him here.

Tiger Den South Riding has played an important role in my childrens life. We have been with them for 3 years now and they have been amazing to my children. Not only has Master Jeon and all of the instructors work hard everyday, they are always supportive and strive to push my children to their fullest potential. Both of my childrens confidence and self esteem have improved from the very first day they started and I have the Tiger Den staff to thank for that. We couldnt be happier with what they have done for my children and family! We are extremely grateful for our Tiger Den family! Thank you for all that you do!

Great childrens program. My daughter, who joined Sept. 2014, has grown in confidence, focus, and physical strength and coordination! Not to mention practicing her listening skills. Master Jeon is wonderful with the children. He really knows how to bring the personal best out of each student. Have made friends. (Able to attend multiple times per week, so you feel you are getting your tuition worth.)

To be completely fair, this place used to be excellent and we loved having our daughter there. Since the pandemic happened, they have terminated the staff that was the glue holding this studio together. In the termination, theyve provide zero explanation to the parents and made no attempt to communicate those changes to us throughout the process.They try to hold classes over Zoom but fail to send out invites on a routine basis so we arent even able to participate. The classes we USED to attend were half an hour at most, provided no one on one feedback, combined too many skill levels, and had no attempt to evaluate the students performances at all. For a studio on self defense, there are no sparring sessions or attention to the students at all and they make it seem like a hassle and burden actually holding classes. Weve attempted cancellation for several weeks and are ignored and still charged for service. When they do respond to our communication, its only to say, too bad....you have a contract and were still going to charge you........even though they have failed to meet any of the terms in their contract.There was a time when I loved the values and skills they taught to our daughter but those instructors are unfortunately gone and this studios true character is showing. Were all trying to stay afloat during this pandemic but they are unfortunately doing it through unprofessional means and breaking their contractual obligations. They want to hold us to the contract and continue to charge a monthly fee all while they fail to meet their end of the bargain. STAY AWAY!!!This was my review prior to COVID Perfect blend of discipline, compassion, and fun! The instructors are excellent with the children and make sure to push the students to improve but not overdo it. Our daughter will continue to study here for years to come and our baby will be going here when shes old enough!

Looking at the other reviews there is not much that I can add that is not expressed already by the other parents. It is so amazing to see that so many people are sharing the same experience. It is not just the taekwondo (which is really amazing as a martial art) but the whole concept of building a trust and respect, teaching the kids of the core values of life. Great school, Great curriculum, nice head Master, Handsom director master Jeon. Clean, kids friendly, well organized martial arts place, that actually feels like they teach something to the kids. Very friendly staffs, they try to go beyond and above to help. highly recommended.

I love this place. It is very productive and its really good for my child.The people there are very nice and sweet and they are very good to their customers.

Its not just a place to learn Martial Art, it is a place to make friends and to try new things. My son now is stronger and more patient and confidant since he started with Tigerden, he is always excited and happy to go to the classes. My son has been in Tigerden for almost 3 years. It’s an incredible place! The coaches take the time to support and nurture every child. Their focus is not just make the kid learn Taekwondo but also to be become better citizens. Master Jeon is one of the best teachers I have come across in any type of educational institution. My son has become more confident, determined and focused since joining. Highly recommend this place!

Master Jeon is fantastic! My son Victor has completely transformed since he started attending class. I recommend this school to anyone, but especially to someone who has a child who needs help coming out of their shell.

Luckily, we live a couple of minutes away from the South Riding location, so location is very convenient... especially when were running late! (With Starbucks and Harris Teeter here too, I get to do some light grocery shopping and enjoy my espresso drink :) After searching, comparing, and taking advantage of the free classes for prospective students at the TKD schools nearby Tiger Den was the best choice for a few reasons:1. Facility is well kept with newer equipment (although the mats could be wiped down more often, in my opinion)2. Programs, classes, teachers, summer camps are well organized and well established. (Most of the TKD masters are actually from Korea and trained in Korea that teach .the classes)3. Its extremely popular/ busy from classes, camps, after school care so that made me feel at ease because hundreds of parents cant be wrong4. Prices are very competitive... and I do believe you get what you pay for. There are other schools that are cheaper but... .they lacked in 1 or more areas and I didnt feel comfortable signing a contract5. They offered the best New Year promo - eight classes with beginner uniform and belt included for only $20 each child. A lot of the other places allowed up to only 2-3 trial classes.6. Like all gyms, there is a contract but its fair and you get the best price for committing to three years; however after 12 months you can cancel without penalty.FYI - Like all tkd schools, there are extra charges for boards to break, sparring gear, each belt test, and new uniforms as your little one grows up!

TigerDen South Riding has been my familys home for both after school and martial classes for over 3 years. Master Jeon and staff are wonderful for young kids. The adult classes and curriculum are great for both the martial arts enthusiast like myself as well as those who wishes for a good workout only. Very friendly and family like environment. The price is VERY affordable and the quality is EXCEPTIONAL. I highly recommend checking out TigerDen South Riding for your after-school, martial lessons, and summer camp needs. You wont be disappointed.

If you want to get the most out of your money I HIGHLY SUGGEST you send your children to TigerDen. Other schools just had my brother do physical exercises but TigerDen teaches taekwondo and had my brother perfect his taekwondo technique. You truly get the most value out of your money.

We LOVE TigerDen. My son has been there for two years and loves it. It feels like a second home to us - all of the staff are wonderful. Master Jeon Byungkwang is incredible. He gets my son to focus so well..he really takes time to pay attention to each child..he is loving, yet stern at the same time. Exactly what little ones need to learn confidence and grow! I highly recommend TIgerDen South Riding.

Its been two and a half years since my son and daughter became students at Tigerden South Riding. They started in the after school program as white belts and are now black belts. They have achieved their initial goal and continue to train hard to reach the next level. Master Jeon, the instructors, the staff and the parents all work together to make Tigerden South Riding a fun and safe place to learn and train in Tae Kwon Do. I would recommend Tigerden South Riding to anyone (all ages) with the desire to learn discipline, focus, respect, confidence and self-defense.

Weve been with TigerDen in South Riding for close to 2 years now. This is a school and (daycare/afterschool) led by Master Jeon who I personally believe makes this place a great place to be at. I say this because of the following:Master Jeon runs the places like his students are his kids. He loves them all and genuinely cares for all of the kids.He has great teaching tools with examples of good work, progress indicators. An example is a teacher named Kristie who is phenomenal with children for the tots program and the after school program. Complimented with the taekwando classes by Master Jeon.The relationships between teachers and students is top class.His instructions are complex and hard to understand at first but with patience every child gets better at it and it becomes easy - which makes the class great for the kids who want to get better at improving themselvesThe content of his teaching is standardized in Korea and brought here for us to learn.The assessments are encouraging and fair and kids are taught to respect each otherThe effects on students has always been positive in the 2 years Ive seenMaster Jeon is warm, very accessible to parents, loves to teach and learn, enthusiastic and caringMost of all its a professional environment for the kids and parentsLastly, his support staff works really hard in ensuring the children come first and then everything else. The TigerDen school, program and staff are outstanding! The have made learning the art of Tae Kwon Do easy for everyone and especially for kids. They lead by example further teaching kids the lessons of teamwork, respect and kindness. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning Tae Kwon Do, do it at TigerDen!

My kids have been coming to Tiger Den South Riding for 2 years, Since Master Jeon has come to the South Riding Tiger Den the whole family is now taking Tae Kwon do. We all love taking the classes, Master Jeon makes them fun but still intense. We are all on our way to becoming black belts! Great place for the kids and the adults!

Thank you for everything you did not only for my kids, David and Natalia, but also for us as an entire family. Trough Master Jeons way of teaching and being around with kids, he made tae kwon do not only a way of self education and discipline, but a way to keep the whole family involved in an amazing activity! He taught my children to be ambitious, to always want to give their best, to try more and more until they reach their goals. He made them understand that only trough hard work and practice every day they will be able to see great results. The thing that made me the most surprised was to see my kids engage this mentality that Master Jeon showed them not only when theyre practicing tae kwon do, but also at kindergarten, swimming lessons and ice skating lessons. You are an excellent team that knows how to capture the kids attention and make them be extremely excited about their next classes and what they will learn in the future. Dont ever change!!
