The team at J&R Auto is tops! I had a transmission to replace in my 2013 Ford Escape. They found the guaranteed replacement transmission, installed it and it was great. The car runs like new and they were completely ethical, trustworthy and straightforward on the procedure. In fact, an unexpected problem occurred while repairing it. J&R rented a vehicle for us to use during the overage, at no charge to us. Toby and team have a lot to be proud of. They run an honest business with tremendous quality. This mindset is what prompted me to write this review. I love J&R!

Another bunch of straight shooters. Theyve been honest with us and we really appreciate that. I havent always gone with their recommendation but thats just a financial consideration on my side and Ive decided to do some of the work myself. But when they have done work its been spot-on timely etc. They have a nice waiting room and the guys that work there are super knowledgeable and super friendly.

Last week while leaving for town family medical issues, my brakes started to make a scraping noise when I braked hard. It would not go away and I was nervous to drive it for the long trip ahead. I called them and they said to bring it right in and they would check it out. I was SO grateful they could see me right away. They checked everything out and made sure my car was ok for the trip ahead. Plus, they didnt even charge me!! They are the BEST!! They are kind , friendly and honest. Great repair shop. I was on a road trip and had a minor problem they took care super fast and for free. I highly recommend the shop if you are either a local or just passing through.

Is 5 stars as high as I can go? Too bad. These guys deserve more -- waaay more. Why? Read on…I was on a road trip from Texas to the Twin Cities/Chanhassen area when halfway up (Kansas City) my car started to vibrate. I had to slow down to 45 mph on I35. (Completely frustrating with everyone else going 30 mph faster!) As I approached the Chanhassen area, I started to call car repair shops to find one who could help me. I knew no one. The first one I happen to call was J&R. They were too busy to put my car right up on the rack, so I called another.The second car repair shop told me they closed at 8p and if I could get in by 5p, they just might be able to diagnose my car that evening for $40. Ok, so that’s where I was heading (at 45 mph!). I arrived late, so they called me to say their service manager was coming in at 7:30 the next morning to jump right on my car. Very nice! The next morning, they called to say I had a left front CV shaft problem. An aftermarket part wouldn’t fit, so the dealer part installed would be $1,150. Ouch!So, remembering J&R, I decided to call them back to now tell them exactly what my problem was. I let them know right up front, I preferred a more reasonably priced alternative to the dealer part. J&R got right on trying to track down my aftermarket part, while I went and paid the $40 to move my car over to J&R.J&R told me they’d found an aftermarket CV Shaft in the area… and my car would be ready in the afternoon -- for $420! Yes! $700 less.But, early afternoon J&R called to tell me the first aftermarket part they received didn’t fit. So, they ordered in another… it didn’t fit. Just like the first shop told me.So Toby (Service Mgr.) got John the service tech involved. John called over to Wisconsin and found a CV shaft he thought MIGHT fit. John had them send an exact image of the part, he counted the splines on it to determine, yes it might just fit. They ordered it, then called me to say they had 2 CV shafts in the shop now that wouldn’t fit, but a 3rd one was on the way from Wisconsin arriving the next day.Toby told me that he’d know something by 12 noon the next day if it would fit, otherwise there was a 4th CV shaft they were sure would fit, but it wouldn’t arrive until the next day for a $80 express charge. Toby thought it best to wait to see if the CV shaft from Wisconsin would fit. I agreed.So, I waited for the verdict from Toby by noon the next day.The next day my phone rings at 0930 from J&R. I say, So Toby why you calling me so early, it’s not 1200 yet?” He says, “Come and get your car. The part came in early, John got right on it. It’s installed… and it’s ready to go.”So, I ask, “How much?” Toby says, “$419.”So, now you know why J&R is worth waaay more than 5 stars. How about $700 more than 5 stars!The first place was right, the dealer part was the safer way to go (for them), an aftermarket part wouldn’t fit --- unless someone (John at J&R) was willing to go the extra mile for the customer to track down the aftermarket part that would fit, saving the customer (me) $700.So, all can tell you is -- if you want your car repaired by guys who care, who are honest, will do a great job at a very reasonable price –take your car to J&R. I am so glad I did.

Excellent job performed on my radiator. Got me through the hottest weather I have ever driven in during the 2017 Hot Rod Power Tour.
