Thank you so much for your kindness during my recent visit with my pet. I broken down as soon as they asked me what was the matter and they quickly jumped into service and started asking if my dog was experiencing a seizure (later determined to be a stroke). I appreciate the questions as I couldnt speak at the very moment as I needed some time to regain my composure. Everyone was so compassionate and kind and answered all of my questions. I felt more at peace with the caring staff and doctor. I was pleasantly surprised at checkout too. Im so thankful this business does not take advantage during pet owners time of need/emergency. I called my regular vet to schedule an appointment and as promised, they had sent everything over so my vet can be brought up to speed with everything. Thank you, again.

My sweet poodle needed emergency surgery because she swallowed a sock that got stuck. The doctors and staff were so wonderful and kept in constant communication with me to let me know how she was doing, how the surgery went, and how her recovery was going. I searched for an emergency vet on Labor Day when my 16-year-old cat, Onyx, stopped eating. I knew she had been eating less, but the appointment I made the previous week with my regular vet wasnt for four more days. I was hesitant to call a chain clinic, believing I would receive more personal service with an independent clinic. But my fears were unfounded when I called and spoke with friendly, professional and compassionate staff. 1st Pet suggested dropping off Onyx because there was a long wait, which was to be expected at the end of a three-day weekend. I brought Onyx to the clinic and discovered the exam rooms were calming and serene. After reviewing her history with a vet tech, I returned home to wait. The vet called me saying the blood test and urinalysis revealed the sad news my cats kidneys were failing. We discussed her uncertain prognosis and quality of life, and I decided to humanely euthanize. I returned to the clinic and all the staff were very caring, wanting to attend to our every need. The vet explained the process and what to expect, and my cats passing was very peaceful. I will rescue another cat someday soon, and will call 1st Pet Chandler in any emergency.

It was Memorial Weekend and we knew we had to have our beloved dog, Nadia euthanized. Our vet and other vets around us could do this for us but 1st Pet was able to. The vet and staff were wonderful and very caring towards Nadia and us. Weve had past experiences with care for our other cat and dog in the past and they have always been wonderful to us and our furbabies. Thank you 1st Pet in our time of need, it helped with your kindness and professionalism to make a sad day for us a bit easier.

I just called this place to try to bring my kitten in and it was such a terrible experience with the front desk. I have a dog that’s a special case and I asked to speak to the doctor and she would not do that for me. She would not even go to the doctor to ask the question that I had. I feel like help was not provided to me and I feel that she did not care about my case whatsoever. Front desk is completely rude please find somebody else that is more understanding to patient needs and concerns of something that she doesn’t understand. I am a RN and I have worked as the front desk in the past and the way that she handled that situation was completely uncalled for, rude and unprofessional. Thanks a lot for not caring enjoy this review. Oh and apparently I’m just a “person off the street” her words exactly, makes me feel like an unwelcome guest when I’m just looking for help when it comes to my pet. And you are responsible if anything happens to my pet because you refuse to provide me help today. It takes someone with a medical background to understand my case which is why I needed to speak to a doctor in the first place, but that was too hard for her to understand. Thanks a lot, I guess it takes someone to have a pet with a blood disorder to understand. In an ideal world that may be the case to go about your book of rules, but this is not an ideal situation which is when you need to let the medical professionals handle it and stay in your lane.

This was a scary situation for us with our little fur baby. Being a very busy facility was a little discouraging at first because of how long it took for our dog to be seen. However, I really do understand on an emergency basis how everything works. The staff handled it so well and whenever I called to get an update on my dog, the staff was kind and accommodating. They even offered to send me a photo of my dog during the time he was waiting to be seen to reassure me he was doing fine. The doctor was even holding him and making him feel more comfortable when possible. This is one of the most professional staffs I have ever seen and there is nothing more you could have done to make our visit better. I thank you so much and Dr. Nicholson‘s pledge to her skill, knowledge, and friendliness was absolutely fantastic! I have seen a lot of doctors become complacent and handle animals like they are taking a number and that was NOT the case here. I am so impressed with this facility! Thank you for your care!

Our 9.5 YO German Shepherd, Otto passed at around 2:30am on Thursday morning 9/2. No one wants to have a morning/day like we had, and the last thing you want to do is think about taking your pet to be cremated. We went to 1st pet and were treated with the utmost respect. They were kind and caring. I believe it was Kelly who took us through the entire process and she was as nice and as professional as can be. At 2:30/3am we didnt know what we would get. Just want to say thanks to the staff and to the doc who took a look at what happened to Otto, and put our mind at ease. Later we received a card, paw prints and nose prints from the staff. All signed with a kind message. Thank you Kelly, Trinity, Caitlin, Lexy and Yael for your nice words. We really appreciate you all.

So grateful for 1st Pet. My regular vet was closed for a holiday weekend, and we needed immediate medical attention for my senior cat. 1st Pet took my information over the phone. Upon arrival, they triaged her almost immediately. 1st Pet was upfront about their wait times to see a vet, as well as transparent with their pricing. I was given options for her diagnostic tests and treatment plan. A few hours later, after minor surgery, I had her back home with me. She is healing well and is back to her normal self.

The staff was always friendly and answered all of my questions! I felt comfortable leaving my elderly dog in their care, and knew that she would be monitored and taken care of. No matter how messy she was, they cleaned her up and cared for her. I am so grateful that they were available to take her, despite living about 40 minutes away. None of my local vets would see her, and I was very upset. A few people recommended 1st Pet Chandler and I am glad we went with them!

My normal vet wasnt able to get my 17 year old chihuahua mix in until next week, and he needed to be euthanized due to gradual health decline, which had progressed rapidly very recently. I emailed 1st Pet and they informed me that they take walk-in appts. They really helped me and him out today and hes back together now with my mom (his original owner) who passed late last year. I just wanted to write this review to say thank you for taking walk-ins, and also especially thank you to Danielle for being so kind and helpful. I went in for a CT scan for my beloved pet Leo. They called me shortly into it and my cats cancer was bad it was time to put him down. For his stage it was the most humane option and choice. The doctor was very professional as well as the staff during the devastating time. I have never put a pet down before. Leo my cat was my baby he was everything to me. Euthanasia was the best gift I could give him as I did not want to extend his suffering. His cancer was very bad when we saw the CT results. They let me be there with him and I held his little head while he passed. I could tell he was not in pain or suffering and it was very quick and flawless. It was slightly unnerving that his eyes stayed open but they check the animals heartbeat to make sure they have passed. If anyone is hesitant to do this know this facility was very professional and made the process as flawless as possible. I’ll miss Leo forever and I’m grateful he was in the right hands. They also have cremation service. Shout out to Dr. Kreissler and staff I am grateful Leo was in the right hands.

The staff here was wonderful, especially all of the receptionists. Theyve been so patient and helpful with us, and answer all of our questions. We had to take one of our cats in for an extreme case of pyometra. It was pricey because of it being emergency care, but definitely worth it. Our girl is home safe with us, recovering, now and we couldnt be happier.I see a lot of people talking about the price and money, and I feel bad- especially since weve been there and vet prices in the states are so expensive... but they also need to understand the research that goes into having a pet. You should look into how emergency clinics work in your area just in case of something happening, because there isnt a single emergency clinic- large scale or not, in the Mesa area that doesnt make you pay in full before the end of the treatment in the case of an owner abandoning the pet. It may seem cold, and its frustrating in the moment, but try to understand from a cost of supply point of view. Our service cost nearly 5.7k, and we definitely didnt have the money. I had to pull together emergency work as a freelancer to get the money to pay for my girls surgery and it was worth it to still have her with us.

On Saturday 7/3/2021 we had to unfortunately take our Farrah for her final car ride.10:30am until almost noon.We were there earlier in the morning due to come complications Farrah was having. We were greeted by very compassionate staff.Dr. Tan had to let us know after some tests that our girl had a cancerous mass in her stomach and our options were limited due to her age and progression. We had decided to bring her back home for last time moments, until we decided to proceed.10:30 until almost midnightLater that evening her symptoms worsened and we knew we had to make the final arrangements. I called up to the clinic and was informed bring her in. Again we were greeted by very kind, compassionate, professional staff. I dont remember her name (office manager shorter AA/Hispanic woman, who was training the new receptionist/completes final arrangement plans--she had on very stylish glasses) was extremely kind and went above and beyond not only for my dog, but for me. She checked on me several times and offered me a hug in my time of despair. It was very comforting and let me know I had made the right decision and chose the right place. I cant thank her enough.Dr. Tan who was our vet in the morning was still there in the evening. Even though the experience is something no one wants to do, she provided such compassion, answered every question and granted all my wishes even after the treatment. I cant thank her enough for everything she did for my girl and for me. I felt very fortunate after everything was said and done. Even though I was leaving without my dog, I knew that the people I encountered throughout the day were there for a reason, professional, compassionate and made this experience bearable.Thank you all so much for everything youve done. I have sung your praises to my friends and family for future needs.I thank you for treating my Farrah as if she were your own too. There seems to be a real lack of cohesion in filling scripts outside of the vet. They will write you a prescription for things they dont carry but you also cant get the prescription online, and can only pick it up from a human pharmacy words directly from the person I spoke with. My dogs been out of his seizure meds that he was supposed to get two days ago because they failed to let me know this when they wrote the script and let me leave knowing I was going to fill then online. Super unhelpful. Great to know you can spend a lot of money at this vet and they will tell you theyre hands are tied.

Id give zero of i could. I brought my 1yr old cat in for emergency surgery. Because of covid i couldnt go inside. Jeff who worked at the front came out and wrote down my name and number. I wasnt given any paperwork to read or sign. The vet came and said they would do surgery when he was stabilized. I waited outside for 2hrs. I never heard anything so i figured they call me after surgery and keep him a couple days. I wont home and not 15 mins later after getting home i get the e-docs sign them and Jeff calls. He said since i left their policy is that i have to pay for the full surgery before theyll help my cat. It was 2k and i told him i didnt have that and he told me that it was then a felony abuse of services and he didnt what else to tell me. The paperwork says 75% is due and says nothing about a policy of paying in full if you leave. I told Jeff i needed to drive to Prescott to get a check from my grandfather and needed to know the exact amount so he could write it out to them. Jeff even said just have him write a blank check. I go all the way back to Phoenix and Jeff comes out and says i didnt make it clear how i was getting the check and that that couldnt accept it because the person who wrote it wasnt present. So my cats been suffering for 9hrs. Then the price of surgery was raised to 7k. Since they wouldnt take a check without him there my grandpa was willing to write the check in my name and pay for extra hospital days while the check cleared so i could pay them. But they refused to work with us or do surgery without 100% of the payment. I knew he could have passed in surgery but he was only one years old and deserved the chance to live. I could barely afford the $1.9k to put him to sleep after opening 2 new lines of credit that day. I thought vets were about helping animals. But its just about payment. My cat was put to sleep because of a policy they never made me aware of. I dont care about felony abuse of services. Sue me Ill pay them back. File a writ of garnishment against me and take money out of my paycheck. Just try to save my cat.

I took my very sick 5 month old kitten here due to no options in my town of Arizona City. We waited 5 hours only for them to tell me it was going to be another 6 to 8 hours before he would be seen. They said because he was stable that we was not a priority. I fail to see how a 5 month old kitten that has been vomiting and have water like diarrhea that would not stop and has not eaten or drank for over 72 hours also very lethargic is stable. They suggested I go to their sister clinic in Mesa that also would be at least a 5 hour wait. Never will I ever bring a pet to their clinic again.

I waited for almost 2 hours to see the vet. I called before I went there. I have a very nervous dog that doesn’t like to be without me. They assured me they have a no fear policy. They did not tell that they take the dogs in the back for the examinations. They don’t do them in the rooms. Well my dog doesn’t do well that way. So told Dr. Butler all this and her response was we’re not on the same page if you don’t trust me just leave. Well I had already waited for almost 2 hours so I said, after some discussion, OK go ahead and take her then to which she replied no I won’t see her please leave this property. Oh my goodness are you kidding me! Who does this lady think she is. This dog could hardly walk I had to use a towel to assist her in walking and they turned me away and made me leave. I have never been treated like this in my life and I am 66 years old. Unbelievable Wish I would’ve read the reviews before I went there. I forgot to mention she refused to give me the names of the other vets there. I had an appointment for my puppy here which is why I needed to know. He’s obviously not going there now

Rather than the previously scheduled ultrasound....we were treated to a lengthy questionnaire about our dogs lifestyle, homelife...all kinds of things that they clearly already knew. It dawned on my wife and me that the ultrasund was NOT going to take place. They did whisk the dog away for a few minutes, brought him back. Dr came in and said We cant do the Ultrasound today, as the dog had breakfast This should have been conveyed to us previously, as the procedure was already scheduled for this day. THEN....they billed us 190.00 for this useless dog and pony show. Got a new Vet that afternoon...these guys are a big time money-grab....more like a car lot than a vet.

Luckily no eye damage and they gave me all the tools necessary for a speedy recovery! They were honestly so kind. It was a bit pricey but I was expecting that and honestly probably fair pricing considering the holiday and them seeing him right away. They are a no-fear hospital so they go at your dogs pace (mine hates the vet, so he wasnt very cooperative, refuses to walk, also likes to hide under furnature which is a real hassle at the regular vet but their furnature was set up in a way that he couldnt hide under which is WAY appreciated!!) and understand dogs anxieties, and they were super patient with him. 1st Pet has been taking good care of my Jack since 2014 and they’ve always been so caring. I’ve been going since before the remodel and through a bunch of different docs but one thing has remained the same. They’re so compassionate. In the early days, after a wellness visit, I’d get a card signed by all the staff making sure Jack was okay. Now that he’s gone into the great beyond, they were so kind and understanding throughout the whole emotional ordeal. Everyone made sure I was okay. Even afterwards, when they sent me his paw prints, it wasn’t just his paws on a random piece of paper. It was heavyweight paper enclosed in plastic with a card from everyone that day. They’re so thoughtful. The only thing I’ll miss as much as my Jack, is going in to see our friends. The low star reviews are understandable. Vet expenses can get up there and since pet insurance isn’t like people insurance (you pay first, then they pay you back), people feel like they have to pick between their pet or their pocket. Even now, after Jack is gone, I’m sitting in NSF land while I wait for the claim to settle with his insurance. It sucks, I know. But what these folks are experiencing, I’ve never experienced that. I’ve never even experienced a moment when a staff member was having a bad day. When I got the news that Jack wasn’t doing so well, then they dropped the “hundreds of dollars” in my lap, I didn’t lash out at them. Medical care costs money. It sucks, folks, I know. But don’t take it out on a team of professionals that always took care of my Jack Puma with love and care.

I believe this place did not do all they could to help save my dog. My dog liked to get into stuff behind my and my husbands back. There was like a 15 minute window of opportunity where he snuck into the pantry and got into a bag of chocolate that I thought was out of his reach. He loved food, was gluttonous and ate the whole bag. We caught it quickly, rushed him to this emergency center within 30 minutes of it happening. They were a bit slow to take him back and induce vomiting. They wasted an insane amount of time making us call poison control. I was in such a panic then I didnt question why they werent going to pump his stomach. And they never did. My dog was terrified of vets and was difficult with them. So they drugged him a lot to a point where they said they couldnt really get him to take the active charcoal to absorb the toxins. So that was counter productive. After dropping him off, they basically shooed us away from the building, and I think now they should have allowed us to be nearby and give us the chance to feed him because he would not have been scared of us. They were kind enough when he died, and my dog did eat an insane amount of chocolate, but I do wonder if this place did the maximum possible to try to save him. They seemed to rely heavily on advice from the third party service, too, via printed documents. If ever I do get another dog, and some crazy thing happens again, I dont think well go here.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff who helped us when we came in last Wednesday night. We ended up having to put down our German Shepherd, Sedona. Everyone at the office was so compassionate in helping us make this decision. From the doctor who was honest with us about her prognosis to the tech/assistant who maximized our final moments with her - all of you were great. We were also touched by the card sent to us a couple days later. Thank you for making a difficult situation bearable. We will return for future needs with our other dogs.

If I could give this place negative readings I would!!! I had my puppy there on a Friday diagnosed with Parvo. Unfortunately my other puppy Saturday came down with the same symptoms. I called ahead and was put on the list. When I arrive there I called and checked and they told me a tech would be out to assess my puppy shortly. 30 minutes later nobody had came out I called again and was told once again that someone would be out shortly. 10 minutes later a girl named Danielle who claim to be the supervisor called to tell me that they were now on bypass and I would have to go to another vet. I asked her why there were still cars coming into the parking lot and nobody else was leaving but she was asking me to leave. She then stated that my dog is probably contagious and she doesn’t want it there with other dogs. She explained that the other cars were pulling in the parking lot to have their vitals checked to make sure they were stable before they left to another vet. I asked her why they were not checking my dogs vitals and her answer was if your dogs breathing she’s fine you can leave now. A tech then came out to assess another puppy so I asked her what was going on she knew nothing about the clinic being on bypass and was not sure why my puppy was not being seen and told me she would be back out to assess my puppy. About 20 minutes later the police showed up. Danielle had called the police because she did not want my contagious dog at her clinic. Isn’t this why we take our dogs to the vet because they’re sick? I ended up having to leave and take her to another emergency vet where she was treated! I have never been treated so rude and heartless in my life !

Note: i have never had to take any of my fur babies in for an emergency. this was my first experience.i had to take my little kelpie boy for an emergency accident around 12 AM the other night. the wonderful staff was so caring and got my little boy in IMMEDIATELY. my pup is very cautious with new people but he walked right back with the vet tech from the car. i had to stay inside the car because of the virus situation, but they kept me updated and comfortable the entire time. they cleaned up my sweet boy and all of his wounds so well, and the vet came out to speak with me about how it went along with the medications needed after. when the vet called me to discuss the treatment needed, her words were “my rule is if the pups cannot get up and walk themselves out of the clinic afterward- they aren’t strong enough to leave yet.” my boy needed light sedation because he was obviously very scared by the new people trying to help him. something about the vet’s statement really settled my nerves and reassured me he’s in wonderful care. that’s extremely important for a mommy to hear.did i think this would be inexpensive? no. was it? no. but my baby was taken care of and that’s all i care about. thank you so much, first pet. *hopefully* i won’t need to come back. but if i need an emergency clinic- you will be the one i come to and recommend to my friends and family. i really appreciate you.

I had to take my Labrador to 1st Pet Chandler after she began vomiting blood. They got her in very quickly and diagnosed her with pancreatitis. The staff was very kind, patient, and empathetic. My sweet pup had to spend the night with them and they took incredible care of her. They were very responsive all night and gave me updates whenever I asked and even sent me a couple of pictures which made me feel better. I felt at peace that she was safe and cared for and I would 100% recommend this vet as they took great care of my best friend. My pup is now home and feeling much better and looks like she is going to make a full recovery!

Emergency vet care is an unfortunate but sometimes necessary service. When our older beagle started showing cold symptoms which seemed to be getting worse, we tried to get in to see our regular vet and they were booked for a couple weeks. They advised we keep him hydrated, use a humidifier--all the things you do for a the common cold. No one seemed too concerned since he was still willing to drink water and, heading into the weekend, he seemed to be getting slightly better. But things took an alarming and very rapid turn for the worst on a Saturday. Given the day of the week and time of day, emergency care was our only choice. 1st Pet was recommended by our vets weekend hours message.Unfortunately our dog passed in the car on the way. It was so sudden and unexpected and I honestly had no idea what to do. I pulled into the parking space at the clinic and called the check in number a sobbing mess explaining my situation. They immediately offered sympathy and told me they would send someone out to help me right away. They lovingly took my dog out of my vehicle and carried him into a room. They let me spend time with him before they offered options for cremation. They were sympathetic and patient knowing that wasnt the option I had been preparing myself for when I came in. They let me spend as much time with him as I needed even though I was taking space in one of their exam rooms and with covid protocol, their standard practice is to have you drop off your pet and either wait in the parking lot, or they will call you if it will be a while before your pet is seen.I just received a very kind sympathy card in the mail with hand-written condolences from the staff and copies of my dogs paw prints. None of this went the way we wanted but having someone to help when we were overwhelmed and grieving was huge. I know we didnt get to experience the clinical care side of emergency care, but the emotional care was huge.

I am beyond disappointed with this facility! My husband and I found an injured dog in the middle of the street. We picked him up and took him to 1st Pet Vet because they were the only vet opened at this time of the day. Once we pulled up we asked someone to get him because we weren’t sure if he was severely injured. The lady made us wait outside as she attended to other customers in the parking lot. Finally she came and got the dog from us and another lady comes out and ask if we were taking financial responsibility. We didn’t know what to say because we didn’t know the extent of injuries and what the cost would be. She stated if we DO NOT take responsibility we could not get any information about the dog. We just wanted to see if the dog was microchipped and if not we would have kept him! Nope we couldn’t even know that information. Once we left and came home I called the office to check on the dog to see if he was microchipped and the lady was RUDE and said we can’t give that information out! Really lady we saved this dog and we are concerned and possibly want to keep him if he isn’t microchipped! We will call the humane society tomorrow to see if they have received this dog. I mean you help a dog and are concerned and just because you didn’t shuffle out a credit card to them you can’t find out what’s going on with the dog. I WILL NEVER take another animal here again. P.S. my husband and I have a dog that is well taken care of and we will never take him here either! BEWARE taking your pets here! All they care about is getting paid!

We called at 630 looking for a vet to see our dog who has been vomiting blood for the last few hours and we’re told the wait was 4-5 hours and we should bring our dog in right away for medical care. We drove straight there and were instructed to call the front desk upon arrival. We were placed on a ~5 minute hold. Once we spoke with someone at the front desk we were told a vet tech would come out to triage our dog. When the nurse did finally come out, she never even looked at our dog (who was in the car) and told us they were at full capacity and we would need to go somewhere else. I called back to confirm what the triage process looks like and was told the vet tech will bring the dogs in to take their vital signs to determine whether or not they are stable. The vet tech we spoke with never even later eyes on our dog. We are currently driving her to another emergency vet as she is vomiting blood in the back of our car thanks to 1st Pet. We will never return or recommend 1st Pet to anyone.

Dr. Mumaw is incredible! Not only did she successfully treat my cats very long-term ear infection that consistently resulted in an upper respiratory infection, but she took time to fully explain the diagnosis and treatment process she recommended. I never felt pressured or rushed by her or any staff member. Its exceptionally clear that everyone there truly loves working with animals and, because of that, SNorton (my cat) is never bothered by having to get into his carrier for a vet visit. Everybody there loves SNorty! Thank you.

Well I called clearly in distress looking for advise on what to do with my dog who was bleeding from the mouth. I was place on hold after explaining the situation and then transferred to a technician where I explained the situation again. The tech then said it didn’t sound serious and suggested I came in anyway and I asked to clarify if it’s fine if we just wait to go to the normal vet and she said she didn’t understand what was happening at all and we should just come in. So I brought up that she just said my dog should be fine and she hangs up on me. I called back to speak to someone both about my situation and the tech just hanging up on me. I was hung up on again. This is not a vet that cares for your dog but only for your money. If it is the only option sure, go for it, but I can bet you will find another 24/7 emergency vet that will actually care for you and your pet’s needs.

Every one star review I read was consistent with my experience at this office. My dog got into rat poison and even though we didn’t know the type of poison and understood that they would have to treat for all types, they made us call the ASPCA Poison line and refused to induce vomiting without their directive. You pay the poison line $75.00 to process your name and information and let me tell you there is no since of urgency. They provided a case number which was provided to the vet. At this point we had been at the hospital for about 30 - 40 minutes. We waited almost another hour before asking for a status update in which they advised they are on hold with the poison line. Finally, after I paid and exam fee of $175, they call us and advise that they received the directive to treat for all three. We agreed to their terms and almost two hours after arrival they started treatment. After our dog spent the night we were told that we had to bring him back in every 24 hours for the next 72 hours for bloodwork and that if we came in to them they wouldn’t charge an exam fee, just charged for the bloodwork. There were multiple misunderstanding with the front desk people as our phone number was linked to another account and they could not figure out how to properly set our account up outside the other account. We explained multiple times we were not those people. I was finally able to get the account changed and then when I called back in the couldn’t find his information and as our number wasn’t linked to that account anymore they had issues finding it.We called to bring him in the following day and the front desk people seemed overall confused on why I was calling. I explained to two different people what we were looking for and they advised to come in. I asked how much the fee would be and I was put on hold for 30 minutes. As my dog had been fasting all day we drove over while waiting. I called and advised we were outside and they advised they still didn’t know the price. I said I would not release my dog to them until I had the fee schedule. When they finally brought it out, it had an exam fee and we were told “that’s just the way it is, we can’t help”.I called my regular vet and explained the whole situation and they willingly got us in for WAY cheaper and ran a more in-depth test.We called 1st pet back as we left the parking lot and cancelled all appointments going forward. They called my husband back to tell us they were wrong about the exam fee if we wanted to come back in. No thank you.The lack of professionalism, knowledge and compassion was outrageous at this practice. I would recommend going anywhere else. That being said the doctors we consulted prior to his treatment and when we picked him up were very nice.Everything else made a very frustrating and terrifying situation even worse.

The vet was completely lacking compassion when we ended up having to put her down. I am highly disappointed with my experience here. I brought my elderly dog in at 8:30 PM for an emergency visit as she was showing alarming lethargy, trouble standing, gagging, and lack of interest in food.We waited a good hour for anyone to even come out to our car to get her inside. Then an hour wait until we got a call that the vet had finally been able to examine her, and thought it might be a seizure or brain mass. Treatment options were to give her steroids or pain meds or euthanasia. We asked them to check her blood pressure, as that was something they had mentioned that might be causing the problem, and then another HOUR until WE CALLED the clinic to ask for an update. When we called, they told us her blood pressure was normal. Okay- we cant do an MRI due to her age and the risk of complications due to general anesthesia, and even if we did if its a brain issue what would we do anyways? We decide on the steroids for swelling to see if it helps, just to get her through the night so we can talk to our regular vet and decide if we need euthanasia.Vet tells us an injection is $50, good for 12 hours, and oral medication for after that is $200 bucks. We ask for just the injection, as we are sure the vet we normally see will be able to see her in the morning, and we arent even sure the steroids will work to help her as we still arent even vaguely certain what the problem is. Vet seemed rather angry we didnt decide to get the oral meds, tells us shell do the injection, and off we wait.We leave at midnight. Three and a half hours to get her blood pressure and a single steroid injection, to the tune of $225.Im not complaining about the treatment available, or that they couldnt definitively diagnose and treat her, or that there was no miracle cure. Shes 18. Shes an old dog. I understand that shes old as balls and that her time is coming. What I AM upset about is the stupidly long wait. As I type this it has been more than half hour since our check out call, we are the only car in this parking lot, and all I want is to take my deaf, blind, disoriented dog home so she can either pass in her sleep or get to her normal vet. I understand that if people come in with severely injured animals they need to be seen first, but this is beyond the pale. There was no reason for this to take until after midnight to get her blood pressure and a shot.I will not return in the future if I ever have an emergency with any of our other dogs. I would rather drive an hour farther because it seems like that would get us treatment faster than this. And quite frankly, it seemed to me like the vet was just trying to get us to buy the pricier meds, and seemed annoyed when we didnt go for it.Overall, no. Just no. This place seems like it has organization issues, and it seems likely that our case just kept getting shoved to the back of the line because of shift change or someone getting distracted or I dont even know.Got here at 8:30. Left at midnight.Fantastic.Edit; First, thank you for the well-wishes.But my original complaint still stands. I do understand that your clinic may not appear busy when it is, but some communication on the part of your staff regarding expected wait times would have been appreciated. I would not have minded so much if it had been made clear that the clinic was experiencing heavy use and we might be waiting a while, or if someone had spared five minutes to call us and give an update, even if it was just to say the vet hadnt seen her but they were working on it.If that had happened, this would have been a review talking about how busy it was, but the staff worked hard and got us in and out as fast as they could. Instead, it felt like we were forgotten and left waiting in suspense while other people came and went in half the time. When we got our checkout call, the receptionist even asked if we were still there or if we had gone home and needed to drive back. We hadnt even known that was an option.
