We started looking for a martial arts school when our daughter approached saying she wanted some form of year round sport. After checking out different schools we walked into Mr. Yarwoods . It had met the criteria I was looking for. I was looking for a solid foundation that would challenge her as well as push to grow. My wife was looking for a family structure where everyone is helping each other succeed and being supportive. In the first 2 classes it was obvious to both of this was her new home. The class has solid structure, its fun, and has enough instructors for individual attention as needed. After more than 6 months I know we have made a excellent decision choosing this school. I found out they held Kick Boxing classes for the parents. I can resist a good work out so I gave it a try. His class will push your work out to the next level. My suggestion is if your thinking of martial arts classes give him a try you wont regret it. Student is 11 and Female.

Mr. Yarwood is an amazing teacher and he cares a lot about his students. I really recommend him and his place. You or your child will love it.

Whoever the guy is who drives the black Mitsubishi Outlander with custom plates is and who cuts people off and tailgates people all the while having a phone conversation with his window down at 70+ MPH. Im sure that was a pleasant experience on the other end. Either way, if the instructors at this school teach their students the same way that they drive, Id avoid this school.

What do people gain from training at a good martial arts school? Physical fitness for one thing, but also a positive mental attitude. Young kids training at Yarwoods Martial Arts learn respect for others, work ethic, and how to overcome challenges. In order to be ready to test for the next rank, young students need to turn in positive reviews from their teachers and parents, which prove that they have good attitudes. Furthermore, they must meet all the requirements. It is a great way to learn responsibility. Learning these things at a young age is very beneficial. Kids in the program are also taught about safety / self defense. For example: what should a child do if a threatening stranger approaches them in public? In todays world that knowledge is very crucial.Adults also benefit from the classes as it is great exercise. Want to burn calories and gain confidence by staying active? I recommend Yarwoods Martial Arts.Kickboxing, adult self defense and womens self defense are also part of the curriculum.

Martial Arts in Champlin is a family oriented school. Meaning, the people that are involved become a family. Mr. Yarwood spends a lot of time learning more so he can share his knowledge with his students. This is a fun taekwondo school where leaders are created. Discipline, respect, honesty are taught. It’s a great place for building confidence! Check it out!

My son has always been high energy and I enrolled him in Yarwoods Martial Arts hoping he would have some fun, get some physical activity, and maybe learn to focus a little better. What I didnt expect was the character development and leadership training that my son would receive. Or that he would find a close knit group of students that work really hard at building each other up. We came for the physical, we stayed for the character. Cant recommend highly enough.

Mr. Yarwood is a wonderful instructor. When my daughter started his class, she was quiet and a little reserved. Hes helped her to come out of her shell and to become more confident. When she does her training, you can hear her out in the hallway. Hes pushed her, just enough, to try several tournaments and has done very well. She loves going to class and enjoys every minute of it. Makes me very proud.
