Unprofessional handlings of bookings and clients time. Three times I tried to book and every time, they had to call me and change or move my appointment. The last time was the day before my birthday ( less than their 24 hour cancellation policy for clients) and it left me with no time to book anywhere else and I really needed my roots done. Both times I felt less than impressed with the service I received. I couldve saved money by doing a better job at home and going to Great Clips. I received an extreme chemical burn my first time visiting for an all over relaxer. I remember being asked where I had had my hair relaxed (different from perms but that wasnt an option for this review) in college and I had actually done it myself, so I will more than likely be attempting that again after being booked for one and a hair cut my second time visiting Allure. The stylist I was assigned to didnt preform relaxers... Which I should have walked away at that point but I instead allowed the stylist to cut my hair the way she wanted (I did say I trust you but not to ignore my requests). I felt like I left looking like Dora the Explorer... $40 for something I couldve spent less than $20 having a better experience at Great Clips, instead of driving an hour to a salon.Im not necessarily salty over the receptionist mistaking my relaxer retouch for a color retouch, Im more upset with the fact the haircutting stylist seemed as if she was afraid to touch me and just using her eyes instead of hands and fingers to help guide the haircut (leaving a little slant) and being BURNED several times with the straightener because, again, the stylist only used one whole arm for the session. With a giggle and a omg sorry several times I ended up breaking my rule and didnt tip. I felt really gross and disrespected honestly. Im probably going to save money and gas by never returning. An hour for a bad experience twice... Wish I could be refunded the $40 but Ill let it go.Edit: I forgot that the stylist that relaxed my hair the first appt at Allure, had to rush me due to a picky client that came in. You should take your time on the client you are currently working with. And definitely keep an eye on the client instead of walking away a lot. I received a chemical burn because of a lack of supervision. I had to leave unstyled and looked like Fluffy the shih Tzu. Feeling like it was a joke both times? Im sorry but I wont be back. Not that youd care, but thought Id add my two cents.

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful place inside. I did renewing conditioning treatment with Whitney - it was wonderful and my scalp so clean and nice and hair looks awesome after treatment as well. Thank you for a hair cut as well! Love it!It was my first time here and I received a discount card. It’s very nice.

Madison is phenomenal! Ive never had such a great salon experience in my life. Not only does Madison know how to do her job extraordinarily well, she has great people-skills. I enjoyed my time and love my hair. Its a bit dark in the house so this picture doesnt do it justice, I will try and get some better when its sunny! :)

Customer service was great and everyone was super friendly. I felt very comfortable! Safety protocols were followed and everyone wore a mask. I absolutely loved my hair and my stylist, Madison, adhered to exactly what I was looking for. Will definitely be coming back for a touch-up.

Will never use this salon. They ripped me off $70….for a eyelash lift I never received… This place is a scam for money. I had a emergency at work and they still charged me full price for something I never received. They were not understanding at all they are just money hungry. Your just a number to this place DONT let them make you think you are special to them because they will rip you off any chance they can. I’m sure you getting government money from COVID or PPP money to make up people missing appointments for COVID reasons and payroll. You are scamming people and are Insensitive of other peoples health. I’m turning you in cause it’s illegal to do what your doing at this time in the US.

Staff is friendly and overall experience was okay. However, I paid nearly $300 to dye my hair a dark navy blue, only for it to start to fade in sections 3 days later. Now, 2.5 weeks in, almost half my head is green (I understand fading.. but 2 weeks?) I called to ask what they could do (because I didnt pay that much money for my hair to be what I asked for for only 72 hours) and got no help. Now Im out 300 and my hair is half navy half green.

I started coming here in July and it has quickly become my favorite salon in town. Im used to going to multiple salons for different services, but every since I found Allure, it is my one-stop shop for all things nail and hair.Koury does my dip manicures and regular pedicures and pays attention to detail to make sure everything looks perfect. Madison did my hair (all over color and cut) and understood exactly what I was looking for. She was also able to add on a scalp treatment at my request during the appointment, which made a difference in reducing dryness and flaking.Im excited to try additional services from Allure such as facials. Highly recommend this to anyone in the area. All the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Got a lash perm, and at some point while my eyes were closed for the procedure, my technician took her mask off- she didnt bother putting it back on until *after* I was able to open my eyes again, and saw her with it off.I get that its kind of ridiculous to be complaining about this seeing as no one really *needs* cosmetic procedures during a pandemic, but I try to be a decent customer- I got vaccinated as soon as I was eligible, always make sure to get a negative test result within 24 hrs of when I come in, wear an N95 level mask, tip extra. Id hope to be shown the same level of care/concern from whoever Im paying- and the results came out lopsided, to boot.The only reason it isnt one star is because I felt like my personal risk of contracting COVID-19 is pretty low- this is meant more as a warning to anyone else who might be more concerned- and at least one eye came out alright.

Several years ago they did my first professional cut/style & color. It was a wonderful experience, so when I needed a last minute appointment today, not only did they squeezed me in, but I couldntbe happier. The stylist that cut and styled my hair was not only super friendly but she expertly created such a wonderful look for me. I showed her a picture and told her to do what she think would look best and she nailed it! 10/10 will never go anywhere else!!

Madison was my stylist and she did an amazing, amazing job. I’m in love with the color correction she did on my hair. She is very kind and professional. She explained what she was doing throughout the process and I can tell she is very passionate about her work. I would highly recommend Allure Salon. I always love my hair and nails when I leave. The space is clean & decorated well, and the atmosphere is relaxing. All the stylists are friendly and make you feel comfortable while you are there. They also have cute, boutique style clothes for sale @ reasonable prices.

This was one of the best salon experiences I have ever had. Madison gave me an amazing hair cut that I am absolutely loving. She checked in with me at every step to make sure we were on the same page and that the final product was exquisite. Belle did my mani/pedi and her attention to detail and the care she put into her work was amazing. I interacted with several other employees whose names I unfortunately did not get, but all of them were polite, friendly, helpful and made me feel like they were there to help enhance my natural beauty, as opposed to some other salons I have been to where I felt like they thought it was there job to make me beautiful (as if I wasnt already on my own). I cannot recommend this place enough and I will be singing their praises to everyone I know. Pretty decent cup of coffee too, haha.

Wow, did it take me a long time to find my new stylist! I had tried a few other salons and I just couldnt find a good fit. I showed Whitney a picture and she took into account my hair texture and my (lack there of) styling kills at home :) I get compliments all the time and I feel like I can wear it many different ways, always a plus.

Really cant recommend Madisons work enough. Her blending and blonde matching abilities with foils are the best Ive experienced. I love how knowledgable and detail oriented she was, and how she communicated the process with me throughout the appointment. She really took her time to listen to what I wanted and how I style my hair. Even though my appt ran over the allotted time, she took her time to make my hair perfect and it was a very relaxing appt.

The stylist who cut my hair had lots of helpful information on selecting appropriate hair products and styling techniques for my hair and desired look. Everybody there was very nice too! One of the best experiences I have had at any haircut. I will certainly be back.

Something had gone wrong with my hair and Allysa and Whitney fixed it for free and we’re extremely accommodating and understanding. It was a great experience and now my hair looks even better than it did the first time

This was my first time at Allure and Candace went above and beyond for me! Not only did she squeeze me in very last minute, she made sure I was well taken care of the moment I walked in. She took her time and gave me great suggestions to not only get the perfect cut, but to maintain my hair health as well! I also felt really comfortable and most importantly listened to while figuring out my hair needs! Went in for a gel manicure by Koury and she did a great job! Already scheduled for another appointment in 2 weeks. The salon is nicely decorated and everyone seemed friendly!

Cori took care of me as a last minute walk in for my toe nails. She was great at shaping the nail, taking time to make sure everything looked good on both my feet and nails, and then gave great leg treatment. I would recommend this salon to anyone and am glad that they found time to see me so last minute.

The girls really make you feel special, make sure you have everything you need, and you are well taken care of throughout your entire visit. I had a stress relief pedicure with Belle and it was the best pedicure Ive ever had. Very relaxing during the treatment and left my feet feeling amazing. Great prices too. I will definitely be going here to see Belle from now on.

This was my first appointment at Allure Salon. I had driven by several times and that is how I decided to check it out. My appointment was with Ashley S. for a haircut.Ashley was very friendly and welcomed me as soon as I walked in. She made me feel very comfortable. I appreciated the fact that she took the time to ask me what I wanted to do with my hair and what I wanted to do for the future.The salon itself was clean and bright, not too noisy and quite comfortable. I would recommend Allure Salon and Ashley to my friends and family.

Amanda Baer at Allure Salon is the greatest!! I have been getting my hair done with her for a bit now and every time she is fantastic. I never know what I want so I give her full reign to do what she can. It always turns out amazing and just when I think she cant top herself she does. When it comes to cut and color this girl knows her stuff :)I recently decided to step out of my comfort zone and FINALLY try the eyelash extensions. Keep in mind my children (boys) have longer lashes than I do. She was still new when she did mine. (Just completed her course for her license) and she blew my mind with the transformation. I didnt tell anyone I was getting them done and everyone noticed immediately. Not that I got extensions but that my eyes looked amazing! I got so many compliments!!Thanks so much Amanda for being the best at all you do :)

Kim Harshman is amazing! She makes your experience very home Like, great conversation and tons of laughter (her laugh is beyond unique)! I also, really enjoy the fact that she is very honest with how your idea may not be exact how you think, instead of just cutting away and having you regretting later.

I have been going to Allure Salon for a little over a year now, and I have always walked out of each appointment feeling incredibly happy with both the service that I have received and the fresh look I have been given! I came to Allure for the first time and Whitney colored and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I love it so much and have received many compliments. The salon was clean and beautiful. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Worse experience ever! I was so excited to get a last minute spot .... but I had a very bad experience. The hairstylist with red hair who did my hair never talked to me, it was really uncomfortable. Then she applied the developer without foil and ask me do not move if I didn’t want to end up like a tiger. The brush she used for my hair was so dirty that you could see a bunch of light blonde hair...The color after the first timer was greenish so I had two more timers.. until it was a decent color. I wanted to run away after she rinsed it out.. The receptionist was very rude too.I won’t recommend this saloon to anyone.

I went there for a hair color. It was supposed to be 85$. The lady said she will put a product on my hair and after she did she said oh btw because I put that product on your hair its going to cost you 165$ now!!!! Wait whaaaat redicouls! How can you do that!?The owner is not friendly. I got a very bad energy from them plus I heard she was trying to sell products to other costumers. This is not nice to do to people!

Ive been seeing Whitney for around 6 years. I had recently moved back to the area and tried about 10 different salons and stylists before I found her. My hair is a little difficult to cut being longer, with a lot of curl on the bottom and straight on the top, with a lot of thickness in the back. I could not find someone that could cut it the way I wanted and thin the areas that needed for it to lay right. From day one, I knew that I would stick with her as long as she is around. Shes very reliable and always keeps her skills up to date with the newest coloring and cutting techniques. Ive also seen Tonya, when Whitney was out for maternity leave. She also did a great job. I always recommend Allure when anyone asks where to go in town.

Doug is amazing, and he could be charging SO much more for his services. He gave me a cut in a style Id never tried before, but it was so flattering, I fell in love with it immediately! He really knows his stuff. The salon has a beautiful, relaxing interior. Makes me wish my hair grew faster so I could make an excuse to go back more often!

First had a good experience with Tonya doing a formal hair. Which is why I wanted to come back for a treatment and cut. My appointment was at 4:30, they called me at 4:28 to tell me she is running late and can we change it to 6. Id be fine with it if they called me at 4, before I left my house. This is very unprofessional, I was already there. I like Allure products, but the salons managing of this was very unprofessional.

Ive gone to Haley 3-4 times now for gray hair coverage and she has been super helpful and Ive never left feeling less than happy with my color and cut. The salon itself is comfortable and relaxing. Ive never had to wait more than 1 minute (even when I was still several minutes early for my appt).

Fast service, decent work

I have been in Allure twice and I regret it. The first time I went there I had Kelsey (I think that was her name) back in 2014. She was nice, but made my hair looks like a trash. I was not satisfied at all not to mention that I paid A LOT. I came back the next day, talked to the owner Whitney. She was nice and they corrected my hair color. However, it was nothing like I wanted.Unfortunately, I wanted to give the salon another chance. First, I asked for Whitney as a hairstylist, but when I arrived there, they assigned me Roxy claiming that it was a “busy” day – not my problem. Anyways, Roxy was super grumpy and not friendly at all. After she finished my hair, it looked terrible. I asked for a light brown and I got an orange hair. After I asked for a correction, she became even grumpier and hurt me when she was brushing my hair couple times without apologizing -- Again, very BAD experience and very EXPENSIVE services (above $200). They have no respect for the costumer. I literary cried after I got out of the salon. They’ve never tried to make me satisfied. LAST VISTIT. I don’t recommend this salon at all.

A great experience overall! However it was almost $200 for a heavy foil and 8 inches cut off (with no layering). I asked for a blow dry as well, no style was included. I never go to salons to get my hair done and this just reminded me why. $$$

Ive seen Tonya for about 18 months now, and I have nothing but good things to say about Allure. It is always clean in the salon, and the stylists and receptionists are friendly. I like the Aveda products a lot, and Tonya does a great job. My hair was falling out like crazy about a year ago after I had baby, and she worked with me to figure out some strategies to hide my bald spot and deal with the hair as it grew back in. I would absolutely recommend Allure!

I went in for hightlights and to add layers to my long hair because I wanted more volume, the hairstylist was Kim, I showed her the picture of the haircut I wanted, she said she would cut around 2 inches off my hair because the roots were damaged. The result is, I have the same haircut I had when I walked in, only 5 inches shorter, with one layer added to the tip of my hair, and I cant even see any highlights! I think she wanted to go home and washed off the chemicals too soon, they charged me 150 bucks to butcher my hair. I will never go back.

I have been going to Kelsey K. for a few years & followed her to Allure. She has worked tirelessly on my hair & is always great about doing exactly what I want even when I know she wanted to do more. My hair has always been long, fine & I have tons of it so it required a lot of effort, especially since I have a bad habit of waiting too long to have it trimmed & colored back up. When I decided to go for major color changes she did a great job every time; this last time was an ombre to soften the transition from blonde to my darker roots. Just recently I had her cut off 10 for a donation & the cut is awesome! She made the change so easy for me. Shes also really good at asking other stylists for their opinions when she isnt 100% sure of a style I want & she consistently checks to make sure Im happy with what shes doing as we go along. Recommend 100%.Edited to add: the salon itself is always neat & tidy. I love the new online options for making appointments too!

I love Aveda products and when we moved from Fargo, ND to Charleston, I looked around for a salon nearby and discovered Allure in Champaign. Yes, its a 50-mile drive for me, but its worth it, and Ive referred two friends at different times. I had been going to Tonya for several years and loved the haircuts and color skills she brought to my auburn (and greying) hair. We talked easily about her sweet kiddos, travel, my grandkids, etc. When she was not available, Whitney adopted me and gave me a wonderful short summer haircut, almost a little boy cut, and I loved it. I got compliments from my friends right away and look forward to returning in a week for my color appointment. Highly recommend this salon.

Ive never dyed my hair before and requested light brown/Carmel balayage on my nearly black hair. Haley was really nice and seemed experienced, however the result looked nothing like the pictures I showed her. My hair is now orange on the bottom with some chunky orange streaks on the top! What a nightmare! For $120 I was expecting a much more polished and sophisticated look. The staff said it just looks orange because of the light, however Im at home now and the chunky streaks on the top of my head still look awful. Haley tried putting some toner on them, however they still look brassy, orange, and do not blend at all into the rest of my hair. Utterly disappointed and hoping to get a refund from this place once the manager returns tomorrow. Will not go back.
