I texted them to make an appointment to close my pool but had to cancel but will be giving them 5 stars because they quoted less than HALF of the outrageous 500 dollar fee from Leslie’s pool. Extremely fair priced !!!!!! Hire them.Will be using them next season. Thank you.

Empire Pools does an absolutely fantastic job in all aspects of pool service. Ive been with them for almost 20 years and have been happy with the quality of work and service each and every job. They open and close for me each and every year. Repairs, service, upgrades, parts...one-stop shop! If I call with a question I always get great help, fast and responsive advice. Excellent care and personal attention. Best pool service on Long Island, easily.

Despite some negative reviews, I decided to give Empire Pools a try, the supposed best of LI per News 12. Well I can quite emphatically state that they are not even in the ballpark of anything that resembles “best.” The opening was done and a temporary pipe fitting was left on improperly, net result two thousand gallons of water down the backside of the house! Luckily I was home or my pump would have burned out. Called to let them know that my pool was literally losing water, they told me to put the temp fitting back on and that they would be back in a few days. Needless to say, I knew I was in trouble, when they didn’t come back to fix it. I stuck with them for the pump/motor to put on my waterfall (I literally called everyone else nobody was available) after many phone calls and texts they finally give me an inflated price which they justify as being for a warranty. I had old PVC, told them to check it, and we agreed to repair it. After they installed it and left I noticed a valve wasn’t working. I called them and they said they couldn’t come back for 4 days to fix it even though we discussed PVC repairs. Yesterday they came back and instead of installing a five dollar valve(mind you I gave them 1200 bucks!) they said they repaired the valve which when I got home is still dripping down the waterfall. Negative 5 stars! Worst of Long Island.

Initially I didnt leave a written review. I read the various reviews and somewhat shocked at the couple of bad ones so I decided to add my experiences. I have used Empire for a few years. Ive had my pool for 25 years and have had three different companies over that time. Each year that Ive used them for opening and closing of my pool they come on time, they are efficient, and they are respectful of my property. I tip the workers for a job well done.

We ordered a pool cover, they measured all of other anchors incorrectly WHILE I had the other pool cover as a template, and then they come here months later with the cover and it does not fit any of the anchor points so they wanted to re-drill into our concrete and we said we want a new cover to fit the already drilled anchors and joe said no ... and the manager joe is simply rude, basically saying it is our problem that the anchor measurements were wrong - very unprofessional company and our advice is to stay clear of this company!

Completely unprofessional. He speaks of how good he is but he an professional whose not willing to help an established customer by doing a contracted service but in his words he has the right to refuse a job. Not someone you should want to do business with.

I texted Empire pool to cancel my pool opening appointment for next week. Yes I moved my dates twice for the opening. There “customer service” texted back “ strange you reschedule it once already and not a nice way to treat people. Also for me not to contact them for any services”. Everyone who owns a house know that things happens and need to take care what’s important. There response is unprofessional and rude. As if they are the only company in Long Island that do any pool services.

I am not a pool expert by any stretch but I know what being cheated feels like. It feels like two dishonest people (Mike and Joe), great at talking to talk, just manning the phones all day, sending out unskilled / unmotivated / careless field workers to your house and then charging you a small fortune for very poor service. They charged me $282 to open my 18x36 in ground pool but another $244 to power vacuum (50 mins of work, only cleaned and dumped “stabilizer” but no new salt or other start up chemicals added, did not turn on my pump so the pool water was not circulating, as I watched them on my security camera) without any written communication about what specifically they did, and how long it took. These folks would not even stay an extra few mins to fill the water in my pool up to an optimal level , just told me they are too busy to wait around since they have many jobs. Sweeney Pools, on the other hand is superbly professional, provided written proposals ($106 per hour for power vacuum, $300 to open), communication is clear, and their workers would wait to ensure the job is completed to an optimal level. At the end, when I terminated Empire Pools via text (did not want their weekly service), they called me instantly at 7pm (after normal business hours), yelled at me and hung up. High demand and lack of information/accountability allow these mediocre shops to stay in business. Do your research upfront!

I had my pool closed by then in 2019. I did not open in 2020 due to Covid and this year when I opened my pool, we were informed that the pool lines & heater lines was not drained properly so now we have a lot of cracks that need to be replaced. Empire Pools denies any wrongdoing & offered to close our pool in 2021 for no charge. I cannot trust them again to do right after that experience. I would never use them.

Upon opening the pool, before realizing there was a short in pump, they through the chemicals in the pool. So with no filter running, that was a waste. I was advised in a text that I would receive a free filter inspection. The next day the pump was working and connected, it took them 2 weeks to come and check it out. Their concept of a free filter inspection is just looking at it!!!!! Unbelievable! Every time I called Joe would talk over me and repeat himself. He was rude and nasty on numerous occasions, finally I got nasty and hung up on him. When I asked to speak to a manager or owner I was told no one is available. It’s ironic if you listen to the recording while on hold empire pools says they treat your pool like their own. I highly doubt it!!If they would have inspected the pool properly they would have realized I needed a new filter, which obviously a better pool company figured out and replaced.So I will never use Empire Pools again you can thank Joe!!!!!!!!

Very reasonably priced, with excellent communication and responsiveness. An overnight thunderstorm left too much water on the cover, despite the pump, and Empire had no problem coming back the next day to do the opening, even after showing up on time for the scheduled appointment. Recommended, and will be using them again.

WARNING!!!! THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE!!!!!This company is by far the WORST business Ive ever dealt with. Each year by no fault their crew has become less knowledgeable and less considerate of personal property. I was literally robbed by Empire Pools They charged me $350.00 to open and rake leaves from pool. After the job was done, I was left with my filter leaking water and pool after 4 days still not clear. When I called to ask when I can get this rectified I was told there not sure and I wlll have to just wait when some one becomes available.One week later still no call. AFTER CASHING MY CHECK. WATER LEAKING FROM MY POOL FOR OVER A WEEK, i GOT NO CONSIDERATION FROM THEM AT ALL.I had to get another pool company to correct their wrong. THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. STAY AWAY FROM EACH AND EVERY LOCATION...IN ADDITION JOE ITS BEEN OVER A WEEK. IVE LOST TONS OF WATER AND UTILIZED THE PUMP NON STOP SINCE YOUR CREW LEFT AND IT WAS A THE WORST SERVICE EVER. AFTER YOU GOT MY MONEY YOU HAD NOOOOO INTEREST IN RETURNING PROMPTLY. YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS ARE AWFUL... I DONT HAVE MONEY TO THROW AWAY SO PEOPLE DONT BELIEVE THEM. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT TURN DOWN FIXING AN ISSUE THAT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR.. YOU GUYS AND NOT ONLY CROOKS BUT DISHONEST AS WELL

My mother used them last year and had a major issue with them. I warned her not to use them again this year, but she wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were also the only pool service with quick availability. I now know the reason why they were the only ones available bc everybody stays FAR FAR FAR away from them! Please refer to prior reviews and yelp! She used them and there was nothing but problems from the very beginning! The workers rush, they do NOT do a thorough job , and they left my mother’s pump leaking. The pool is still green after 4 days! How? Also, When someone pays you for a service they expect it to be done, therefore you should have made her a PRIORITY and went back to fix the problem within the 24 hours... you received payment and cashed her check within 24 hours - so do your job!If you want a clear pool, with a working pump and filter... Stay away! Perhaps the owner should do some work while on out on the jobs, and not just stand around and rush his workers.And please note - God will bless you when you start making your customers a priority and refund them for the terrible service you provide.Lesson learned!
