2 instances 10 years apartMy brother baught a used 2007 mercury mountaineer aka ford explorer with only.80k on it...This was back when the auctions were in Plainview also right out of the auction it needed a transmission and 2 months later an oil leak caused the engine to seize...I baught a 2015 mazda 3 in 2016 from them it was a rented fleet car and had a sprayed roof bad bad bad...Iv been around cars since and worked at an dealership and all we sent to the auctions were junk...The only way to catch a real deal is like the people at the front of the line and have a scanner on the phone to tell accidents or possibly codes but you have to equipped and quick OR GET THE CAR CHEAP ENOUGH WHERE YOU CAN HAVE A GAP ON FIXING IT JUST IN CASE OFF THE BAT....Im currently looking for a used car and iv probably seen 6 auction cars and i have passed on all of them so far and a few non.

First, Id like to say that it is always good to feel like a company has your best interest at heart. Not only did I leave with more information about home auctions but the process was painless and smooth. The staff here is awesome, patient and very knowledgeable.

I have gone here many times over the course of a few years. And I have gotten great deals consistently. Everything seems pretty straightforward and simple.

I had not been to an auction before was not really sure, other than of course the idea of bidding, how it would go. They really helped me understand how the process works. I got a great deal on a car and thats exactly what I wanted. Thanks!!

Keep your wits about you when you show up at a Maltz auction. Ive been visiting these auctions on and off for the past 3 months. Firstly, they dont let you go inside the cars during the hour they let you inspect them- look at them from the outside. You also cant see under the hood. Some of their deals seem good until you realize that you bought a lemon. I bought a car a few weeks ago and its already overheating. Lastly, having gone to about 5 auctions so far, I suspect they have scouts in the crowd bidding against the public to drive up the bids. I keep seeing the same cars showing up on the auction block that I know were sold during the last auction. I know because they have the same rims, interior, and reported mileage. I suppose this is what happens when their scouts win their own bids.Cheers!

I have been to this auction and they have their own people in the crowd bidding against you. Not fair. They know where in the crowd their staff is standing and the guy who is auctioning the cars is intelligently communicating with their own people in the crowd and the bid goes quite high. Dont get cheated. Better off leasing or financing a car, if you cant afford all cash. Dont get cheated.

On the good Deals they have people on the inside bidding against you. If you pay attention the same cars end up on the auction block after a couple of weeks. I once Bid and was the last bidder on a great deal. The Auctioneer says there was a proxy bid that out bid me. The car ended up being there the following week. This happens to tons of people I speak to. They need to be investigated because they are not representing the people or agencies who put their cars for auction.

I havent actually bought a car there, yet. But I love going there are great deals. I just happen to not have gotten lucky yet. I really think there is some great stuff there that is undervalued, you can really get a deal there.

No good experience

I just moved out here and needed a car, but ended up buying a house. It was a great deal and near my new job. I was so lucky!

This place is great. The salesmen are very nice to me as the customer. Will definitely come back for more options.

I was able to obtain a nice used vehicle for one of our kids at a great price.

Frauds, no other way to put it. Better auction in Yaphank. Further drive but much better cars at much better prices.

I actually got my house from them, and it was at a great deal. Everything was handled well, and everyone was easy to deal. Thought there would be a lot more hassle involved.

This place was better when they had Repossession cars up for auction..I do not like the new process.

Ive been a customer at Maltz going back to 2009 when they were in Plainview. Ive bought few cars from them for personal use. The last vehicle I purchased was two months ago which was a supposedly a repossessed Honda Accord EX with 78K miles on it. After purchasing the car, I learned that the vehicle has frame damage, the transmission slipped and needed to be replaced, along with other issues. None of these issues were disclosed on the windshield, or at anytime during the sale process. The auction house that once sold repossessed quality vehicles has now became a place in which dealers and individuals sell their junk vehicles that they would not be able to sell anywhere else.

I was looking for a deal on a car for a while but never new about auctions, the traditional salesman replaced by a raise of my hand sounded good, the auction was a great experience and the car was a deal, organized well . The only negative is the location which was a long drive for me

Absolutely the worst experience Ive experienced at an auction. The staff was short-handed, and people waited in line outside after the auction for several hours in order to complete their transactions. The after auction processing is horrendous, even for people who purchased small individual items. Due to the non-moving line the first day, we opted to return to stand inline for several hours the second day. Felt as if it was the first time they managed an auction; totally unprepared and disorganized staff. Absolutely will not attend another Malta Auction.

Great staff and very friendly like family members . Cars are awesom and good prices would recommend more friends to come and buy a nice car for their familys.

Awful. Dont trust this place. Those positive reviews on google are most likely the owners & workers trying to build back their terrible google ratings. Bought a running car at an auction, less than a week later the head gasket blew. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Ive purchased 2 cars there in the last 3 yrs and the experience was great! The staff is helpful and nice. A lot of ppl come to this auction that do not pay attention to the rules of the auction-- so they think they are being cheated or there are plants in the crowd-- they are wrong! The rules to the auction are clearly posted throughout the facility and the staff explains them. This place is great bc you can look at all the cars in advance (interior, exterior, under the hood), run a carfax history on every single car, and then they even drive it into the auction area!!! This is more than any other auction. If they know anything is wrong with the car they write it on the car (major accidents, major damages, etc).I dont know anything about cars. I am just an every day guy and i have had nothing but excellent cars from them! If i can buy a good car here, anyone can!!!

I bought Mercedes c280 from them and i got screwd because the car was in bad accident therefore i spent instantly 3500 dollar to fix the car. It is cheaper to buy from Private owner. Bad experience.

Bad Auction. They keep increasing the price even if someone else is not bidding. I bought Hyundai Tiburon 2008, car is garbage, the transmission is bad, the whole front of the car worn out. Bent axle, a bunch of stuff. Please avoid this auction. I wished I could give 0 star

Maltz Auction is not a place you can trust. I read the reviews about people bidding on the inside and was skeptical about it. I bought three cars from Malz Auction and all had been in an accident. The reason the cars show up again in the future is because it is being sold by a private seller. It will only sell at the price they want. If you win the car at a cheap price, the seller will re-auction it. Every car they sell has been in an accident and Maltz knows about it. The last car I bought was a Chevy Suburban. It went at a really good price. I thought that Maltz sold repossessed cars, but no, this car had been in 5 accidents. I found out after I brought it to the dealer. I thought it was my unfortunate luckwith the new suburban so I bought a 2014 chevy, and to my surprise, it was also in an accident. I spent $1600 to get it fixed, or face the chance of having the engine burn. Maltz allows anyone to sell their vehicle on their site. They dont tell you if it has any problems, issues, or accidents, even if they know about it. They sell you lemons, while making you believe you are buying a great car at a great price. The last I bought from them was a new toyota corolla. The Toyota was also in an accident. It doesnt matter if I would have picked the bmw, or the nissan, or would have gone to the following auction, I would have bought a car to find out that it had an accident. Three different cars, three different dates, all had accidents. Maltz knows what it sells but does not care about its customers. Beware of this auction. They sell cars with problems.

Hard to get a bargain vehicle. You bid, wont the bid but the owner more than likely wont agree to the price you won the bid with. Quality of vehicles are not that great either.
