Had this carpet installed in a guest bedroom. We purchased a high-end product. The Carpet Store sent in contract installers that that fastened the padding down with tape!!!! The room gets next to no use so I let it go and now the carpet is bulged in the center and around the door. Total mess. I called the store and got the run-around about sending in a factory guy to inspect and was warned that I may end up paying for the inspection. Now Im going to end up replacing it. Buyers beware of this outfit.

Ive used the carpet store in the past and was happy. This was a different experience. The installer, Randy R. and his assistant (who are contractors, they do not have employee installers) were great BUT the front office is just rude. They repeatedly called my daughter at work to demand the other half of the carpet payment. They started this the morning of a failed attempt to lay the carpet. The next time they called her at work for payment even before the installers arrived. Just beware full payment is due before the complete installment. If something goes wrong, you are screwed. This is the policy started due to covid supposedly. I will no longer be recommending the carpet store due the rude manager and their unprofessional business practices.

We used the Carpet store about 7-8 years ago and had a great experience but not overly impressed this time around. Alex and team were really friendly but the overall process was pretty unorganized from start to finish with communication being off. When we picked out our products, Alex was really great. The only thing was that it was a little off-putting that when we wanted to look at hardwood, she kept recommending laminate wood for our main level floors. She mentioned multiple times how expensive it was and showing us the laminate product. I don’t think she was trying to be rude but her suggestion after we shared we had hardwood was to still use the laminate because they’ve seen a lot of that lately. Just a very odd experience but when we finally showed her what we had, she was more than happy to help us with finding a match. We wanted to get our hardwood floors installed but the measuring experience made us concerned. It felt like we were being pushed to not go with them. They stressed that it would be really challenging for them so for such an expensive job, we thought we would take their word for it. For the record, we’d had other measurements done with other local companies and they were very transparent but also solution focused. Even by their questions, it was clear they were trying to figure out our expectations versus just telling us the job was too hard.We did choose to keep our other projects with the Carpet Store and it was a bit disappointing with scheduling and how it was handled. We weren’t confirmed install dates and were told they were call back within a couple of days and I would then give half down, as per their process. I never heard back for about a week until I got a message saying they would release my date if my funds were not given to them by end of day. Not rude but the situation was off-putting. When I explained to them what they were supposed to tell me dates so I could put on my calendar and then have time from that conversation to get the money, they realized they didn’t have full confirmation on the dates but apologized and said they forgot to call but still said I had until end of day that day. I had to leave work in the middle of the day to get them their money. It was frustrating because they did not communicate with me but were quick to demand money, even after they realized their mistake.During the week of install, they called me to adjust my dates because of the installers’ conflict and said they would also need to come on Saturday, to which I declined because we were going out of town. I think the frustrating thing here is that there was no consideration to my work schedule due to the last minute changes. I was okay to move the time up but again, there was literally no care to how much of an inconvenience this is to do to a client. I can be flexible but I think it’s inconsiderate to do so last minute. The installers for our first room were rude and did not say a word to me- not even hello. They did a great job but I hated to let someone in my house who was so rude. And finally, after paying so much money we haven’t even received a follow up to see how the install went. It’s been about a month now. They literally took the money and ran. The work is good but I think they need to work on their process and attention to the admin details. I try to always support localbut those little things matter to me. I don’t know that I would use them again or recommend.

We had the carpet store tear out and replace from laminate flooring that was installed over carpet by tenant - they did quick work, the price was more than fair, and the quality is amazing. The new tenants are very happy and weve found our new go-to flooring company!

Im a repeat customer of The Carpet Store! Ive had several homes carpeted with their products and have been extremely happy each time. Randy came out to install new carpet in our entire upstairs. It was a huge project and he did a wonderful job! Very respectful, careful in how he worked around baseboards and stair railings so as to not scratch them. Truly appreciate the ease and professionalism of working with everyone in this store! You get what you pay for and this was definitely reasonable, and high quality merchandise and workmanship. Looking forward to having them do more work for me! Thanks Joni, Randy, and Alex!

I recently had Cody from the Carpet store come and do a phenomenal job on the upper level of my home. His cuts are precise and the lines are nice and crisp. I was nervous at first on how the Carpet from the bedrooms would look up against my wood laminate but the tools and equipment he used left a result to die for. Very respectful, professional, and hard working. I highly highly recommend the Carpet Store and even that you request Cody.

I own several rental properties and have used the carpet store for all of them. they have better quality on the inexpensive side for the same price or better than the big box stores and it holds up well and cleans easy after a tenant. after using for my business i had them put in some higher end stuff in my fathers house and it came out great. they seem to stay busy, plan on scheduling a couple weeks in advance. i am a repeat customer over the last 3 years and havent experienced any of the issues others are claiming. installers where always on time and had what i ordered.

We had The Carpet Store install carpeting in our basement in Kettering. They had a great selection of flooring including wood floor options, LVT and tons of carpeting options. Joni was very easy to work with. Their installers were very professional and did a great job with the install and clean up. Highly recommend them for your flooring needs.

At the suggestion of my realtor, I called The Carpet Store to prepare my house to list for sale. I was very satisfied with both the quality of the install and the appearance when everything was finished. And I felt it was a fair price, overall. Additionally the staff in their office was very friendly and helpful and their install staff was able to install in sections, which was REALLY helpful so that I did not have to move ALL of my furniture at the same time! Definitely would recommend them!

I am a Dayton area roofer and sometimes we not always perfect. But we always take care of our mistakes. We had a leaky apartment building that we didnt get leak resolved the way we wanted. We had leaked into an apartment and caused some carpet staining. My boss told me to get it fixed and gave me a budget. Alex at the carpet store did everything she could to match up the current carpet, got it ordered and replaced and met my budget. The owner of the apartment wasnt thrilled he had to go through this but couldnt rave enough about Alexs crew. Job well done! Thanks for helping us fix our mistake!!

My wife and I have been using the Carpet Store for all our flooring needs, including both wood and carpet. We started our dealings with the Carpet Store in the early 1990s soon after they opened the Clyo Road store and have been with them exclusively ever since. We have found them to be honest, helpful, and trustworthy. They stand behind their word and even represented us (the customer) to a wood manufacturer who shipped a different variation of their product. We recommend The Carpet Store for your flooring needs.

My finished basement recently flooded and I needed to replace the carpet. I had several friends suggest The Carpet Store in Centerville. I spoke with Bill, the owner, and he was very helpful. He gave me suggestions on the best carpet for basements and gave me a good deal. So good, in fact, that I had them replace the carpet in our living room, stairs, and a hallway. The installers where professional, on time, and did a great job. I couldnt be happier with my experience from sale to installation. I highly recommend The Carpet Store!

Not happy with The Carpet Store at all. They installed laminate floor for me in 2013. The floor now has one area that is popping up. Joni came to look at it and said she would contact the manufacturer about it. I never heard back from her. I finally called her back and she seemed as if she never really did anything at all about it. She came back out and looked at my floor again and said she could still get the flooring and would have someone come to fix it (no mention on whether she contacted the manufacturer). The repair man showed up, but did not have the flooring, he had to use the one extra box that was left for me after the initial installation. He said I was not cleaning the floor right and that is why I have the problem. I clean the floor the proper way, and it that was the problem, my whole floor would be this way. I think it is either an installation mistake on their part or a manufacturing defect. But I feel like I am getting no help from The Carpet Store. Joni acts like she will help figure out the problem and contact the manufacturer, but then never really does anything about it. She shows up but then never really follows up.I also have one place on my carpet where the carpet is fraying and the tacking edge is poking through. This is because they did not install cut the carpet right before installing that section.TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I wish I could give 0 stars. Unprofessional and rude. After their initial estimate, when we scheduled with them they increased the price by several hundred dollars and lowered the scope of what work was included in the price. Despite some reservations, we scheduled with them anyway because they came highly recommended. We paid the deposit, half of the cost upfront. After we moved everything out of the rooms scheduled to be carpeted, they never showed up. It turned out they FORGOT to order our carpet and hadnt written us on their schedule. They never even apologized - their excuse was We didnt do it on purpose. When the only good thing you can say about a store is that they didnt argue over giving a refund, it doesnt speak well of their service.

Where to start? Joni and Alex were great from the start. Seemed to really know what they were talking about and seemed very knowledgeable. However, installation went south in a quick hurry! The hardwood was set for Monday and carpet Tuesday. Monday we ran into an issue with the sub floor which was our problem. So I asked for a referral and he was great but carpet couldn’t go down Tuesday because their van which they knew Monday was down apparently couldn’t be fixed til Wednesday. Then they never told us the breezeway had to be a certain tempature so the two installers said they couldn’t lay the carpet because of tempature and they wouldn’t do the upstairs because the guy they referred was in their way even though he offered to move so they could get into the room. Luckily after calling the store and expressing the frustration the installers were able to leave and come back. However, they scratched up and tore up the walls and baseboards pretty bad. I contacted the store and they asked me to show it to the installers and when I did he told me oh well we did our best with a major attitude. After having Joni come see for herself she sent her handyman out to fix the walls and baseboards. I thought ok any other problems they will fix it and make it right! WRONG!!!!! Then the hardwood was to go in Thursday but the other job the installer was working on took longer than expected. No biggie. So Monday he comes back is doing his thing and leaves for lunch and tells me to look at it. With that I go up to find a piece that is chipped and when he returns tell him I’m not going to accept that he gets frustrated and continues laying the floor which I then have to call the store to get him to stop. Then they order more material send a new installer out and he gets an attitude because he has to fix the board that he knew about before he got there and just wants to putty it in. I said I don’t want putty in my floor I want it right. He finished the job then I go up to inspect and there’s a hole in my wall, the baseboards are all cracked, and those walls are totally tore up, with big chunks out of two of the door frames, and putty in my floor. So the carpet store called wanting their money and I said we need to talk about the damages. Joni got on the phone and said she’d get back to me. A week later I go into the store to settle up the bill because I just want the nightmare to end and her husband is there and starts getting rude because they lost an installer over this job supposedly. She says she called someone but they never contacted me. Overall a lot of this nightmare could’ve been avoided with a little attention to detail and a whole lot better communication. Definitely wasn’t a pleasant experience!

Bad experience!! Read the one star reviews! They are true. Several issues. 1st, they came and said they did not order enough carpet. 2nd, they proceeded to install what they had and then found out that they had mis-measured by a foot. 3rd, the salesman tried to get us to agree with him to add to the short piece. I said no way. I paid for wall to wall not a patchwork quilt. 4th they said they had to reorder and it would be done quickly. It was not quick. It was another week for us living with bare tack strips. 5th, they would not give any discount for our week of misery. This is a small company and their reputation does not seem important to them. Not much you can do expect take them to court. They say they give a 2 year warranty. After dealing with them, I am expect that is worthless. 6th, these people do not communicate well. You have been warned. Others have had a good experience, but many have not. Any good I would have to say is that the installers were great. The owners and salesman are not good.

We recently did business with The Carpet Store in both Centerville and Beavercreek. Made the purchase at the Centerville store but due to a family emergency the Centerville manager handed me over to the Beavercreek manager, Mr. Mark Vonderbrink. The Centerville manager was very helpful even at a very difficult time for her, I simply cannot remember her name, but she was fantastic. We were on a very short time schedule and they gave us a date that would work. Unfortunately they had misquoted the availability of the carpet had to be special ordered. Even though we dropped installation back a day or so it was still within a workable range. When the carpet didnt arrive on the day of installation as they thought it would, they moved us up to a higher quality carpet and even dropped the price the price lower than the original quote. From ordering to their subcontractors installing of the carpet we have had nothing but good to say about The Carpet Store. Thank you so much. Jeff Roberts, Dryden Road Church
