I set an appointment online for an inspection. When I showed up Ed stopped what he was doing and greeted me. They were fast, friendly, and on top of the safety of both the employees and customers. I received a link and text alerts on the status of work performed. The alert sounded for my car being ready, Andrew came through the door from the service area with my keys in a clean bag and said we were ready to go. Ed and Andrew both answered some questions I had regarding some work on my wives car. Both very professional. Thanks guys!

I’m not happy store manager was very rude to me and used me of prank calling him.... I would not recommend them. And honestly if you check their prices they are really not much cheaper than the dealership unless you have a high-end car keep in mind their labor rate is like 160 an hour that is higher than some dealership.

Everything was fine till I saw the oil leaking in my driveway. Wondering where all those drip Marks came from. Of course you have to go back.

These guys are busy for a reason. I had 3 tires repaired by Burt, and couldnt be happier. The whole staff is on the move but remain friendly with high quality service with both customers and the work they are doing on your car. Highly reccomend this shop, thanks for all the help guys.

I don’t normally post reviews of places but this was particularly egregious. I had a tire replaced by these guys and they inflated it to ~55 psi (supposed to be 38) I don’t know if they weren’t paying attention or something but this is a extremely dangerous thing to do, luckily i noticed something was off with the and pulled into another shop to check the tire pressure.

Way over priced guess dont care about customers coming back $97 for synthetic oil plus a 25% discount so a to of 77 dollars and change still 20 dollars more than anyone around town

I’ve been here twice, both times helped by Ed and he is amazing! He’s so welcoming and kind. Being a young woman with an older high mileage vehicle would be a money maker in the eyes of some auto places but Ed is very honest and ethical about what needs to be done to keep me on the road safely. I’m so appreciative and I can’t wait to have my car serviced again!

Steve, Ed and Burt were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly and welcoming. They walked me through the work that needed to be done. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and informative. I ruined a tire on a pothole, and I called Pep Boys. Ed ordered a tire, got me a great price on it, and had me come in for them to install it. The tire was replaced promptly, they checked and filled my other tires, checked my battery, and did a general quick checkup of my car, at no extra charge. They were friendly, courteous and efficient. I couldnt be more pleased.

Poor service... I ordered a gas can and a couple of car jacks on a web order unfortunately staff was unable to locate my order... Disappointed Why have a web order system if it doesn’t arrive I am hoping that the Area Director Nicole will reach out to me. I really feel I deserve to be compensated maybe a free oil change?

Ok! So not where I wanted to spend New Years Day but am Thankful that after having the worst experience at Firestone yesterday, Ed was kind enough to get me in today! He was honest and didn’t try to charge me for things that I really didn’t need. Steven, the Assistant Manager was also very friendly. I don’t know the Technicians name that installed my tires but he took his time and was also very kind when handing back my keys. It was my first time there and I’m happy to recommend them to anyone I know!!!

Bought 4 new tires from them, while driving with my wife and 6 month old on the express way I heard a strange noise coming from the tires.Both driver side tires were lose and lug nuts were not even hand tight.

Nice honest guys. But unfortunately I just bought an almost new car and will be getting serviced at the dealership as its under warranty. But I totally recommend these guys.

Not happy refused an Eril change at 3pm

Brought in our company 12 passenger transit to have them take a look due to severe steering wheel vibration and they found out it was the wheel bearing problem and said that they will get it fixed today! We ran into some problems because the parts that they have was the wrong model and the warehouse was closed! Steven the assisting manager went out of his way to make magic happen and also appreciate Edward staying after hours to get it fixed so that we can all ho back to flushing tonight! High recommend them! Very professional and responsible!

Ordered a 5 gallon Jug of eril for my big rig, it never showed.

Basically found a great deal online for new tires for my truck, but its only online, the stores even using there own website could not even find the tires that they had physically pulled to the side for me. Forgot my phone so had to go back and get it or have to pay over $500. They online deal made it under $300. So 2 other customers ended up before me when I came back made it a 3hr wait to get done and showing their own online deal like 3 times to get the correct pricing, they took pictures of my phone to show the deal, and still the manager seemed annoyed, like I was screwing them over. Not to mention I had called 2 other local pepboys and they didnt even attempt to look to see if they had them in stock. Granted if I had had phone from the beginning this would have gone (workwise) quicker, but Im sure the attitude would have been the same. So definitely have your online deals with you to get the correct price.

Worked with Steven, the assistant manager. He was fantastic in helping me get my 2015 Hyundai Sonata ready, with new brakes, wheel alignment, oil change, and replacing my coolant so we can bring our baby boy home from the hospital in a safe and reliable car!! Not only was service prime but he helped us out tremendously with our bill! Thank you guys for your hard work and dedication to customer service!!!

Ive been a customer at this Pep Boys for years, and have always been treated with respect and honesty, even when I was told they would not be able to work on my car (they had a good reason and were upfront about it). I dont know if they changed management or what, but I had to deal with Robert today, and he gave me a run around about why he wouldnt fix my car. The odometer shows very high mileage. He said if we start trying to fix it something else might break. I told him the engine is a rebuilt and has only 50,000 miles on it. He didnt seem to care. I think the problem has something to do with the fuel line and he told me that they dont do that there. So what is it? The cars too old or your guys cant fix the fuel line? If he wasnt so dismissive and hadnt treated me like a nuisance I wouldnt be angry right now. Pep Boys just lost a loyal customer.

I went to the Centereach NY Pep Boys as i usually do and the manager, Steven, was able to both help me and save me some money. I will definitely continue to use this store.

Came here with a problem with the rims of my car. The technician there was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. He found the problem right away and was very upfront and honest about the situation. He operated for about 30 min on the car when he found out that it was a minor fix, he fixed it for free and didn’t charge me a dime.It was refreshing to see such professionalism and honest service. Would 100% recommend!

Great and friendly staff. Had ne in and out in the time promised. I will keep them as my go to local service station.

Called and told them my brake lines were leaking and it seemed to be coming from under my gas tank. They proceeded to have me pay for a tow truck through Pep Boys to have it towed to their shop. Then called me the next morning saying they couldn’t do the job it was too big and didn’t have the proper lift to take my gas tank off.. complete waste of time and money. Definitely could have mentioned that prior to having me pay for a tow there after I specifically stated it was under my gas tank. When I called I said “so you had me pay to tow it there for nothing?” I was replied to with “I guess so”.

WORSE SERVICE EVER! they told me to change all my fuel injections because just one was broken and ask for 1,600 dollars. I paid $100 for just view the problem because i refused that cost. The thing is that i went to Autozone and they check the car computer and told me that was spark plug recoil. They recommend me a mechanic and paid 150 dollars plus the new plug conector. Less than 250 dollars total, not 1600. What a shame!.

I have taken my vehicles to this Centereach Pep Boys in the past, each time it is taken to this location there is a problem other than what it was being serviced for. Each time one of my vehicles was sent in for an inspection, the infamous call, I would receive a call it wont pass it needs wipers, a bulb is out and your brakes are an issue. Today was the last time this Pep boys will get my business along with my strong recommendation to friends and neighbors to steer clear. It went for an oil change and inspection, not only couldnt they do the oil change due to some equipment failure they explained to my daughter, I once again I received a call for the same reasons. Knowing my wipers were changed 1 month ago and brakes completed several months ago by myself, on a vehicle that goes a total of 12 miles each day. This really put the icing on the cake receiving this call and talking to a very arrogant worker who was asked if he looked at what he was telling me was wrong, stating NO, then back pedaling with yes. I demanded the car come off the lift and my daughter will pick it up in 5 minutes. When she arrived it was still on the lift, they insisted on showing her what was wrong with the car, when she had no idea what she was looking at. I had called back and demanded the car off the lift so she may leave. This location has the worst customer service I have experienced, newsflash pep boys, some of us know how to work on our vehicles, but do not have the time. So realize when your telling someone something is wrong with their vehicle with a very condescending tone, and that person knows the vehicle inside and out, its apparent your goal its to make a quota and screw the customer. This shop is not even worth rating one star, of course to post I was forced to. As I said I will never do business with this shop again and inform my family, friends and neighbors to be aware.

His calm, cool and collectiveness really makes him strive in the work place. I was a little frustrated in the morning, but left extremely happy and I made a friend in Steven. Dont know much off it

I wish I could put 0 stars. Went there for an inspection and was told that they cant do it and that they had tried to call me to tell me that my f250 cant go on their lift. I had recieved no call and was told that the pep boys in lake grove has a lift that can lift my truck but when I had arrived to the lake grove store I was informed by them that all of the pep boys have exactly the same lifts and that an f250 wouldnt be a problem getting on it.

Painless experience I normally hate going to get work done on my vehicle. I will be returning here in the future. Friendly staff and great management.

The people where very nice and they get the job done the right way

It was a horrible experience. I took my car in for inspection and it failed due to some light bulb issues and wipers. I told them Ill fix it myself and bring it back. The following day I brought my wifes car and again the same story of it failing inspection for a light bulb, but this time it failed for the light bulb over the license plate. Since we didnt want to be without a car, I told them go ahead and fix it. So they fixed it, but when I looked at the receipt they charged me for 2 light bulbs instead of 1 and a grease pouch for the light bulbs. I checked the light bulb, there is no grease on it. They charge you for things they didnt do. I will never go there again. I wish I could install a sign at their front door that says that they are a bunch of crooks.

I had an appointment at 8 am and there was nobody there and I waited like 10 minutes and I just decided to leave.. funny thing is that they open at 8 am so I just went to Walmart! Should’ve went there the first time smh....

Went for oil change while they suggested me to replace brakes and air filters, I made air filters changed but kept brakes stay on. when I came to another pepboys store to check the brakes a couple weeks later, they said my brakes do not need to change at current moment. Also when this pepboys replaced air filters and did the oil change, they said they would give me some good discount for filter and oil change, but when I went back reading the receipt carefully, I found that they only gave me $10 off while the total expense is ~$180!

Took my car in for wheel alignment and wheel balance. However the mechanics there discovered what I needed was different then what I asked for. They charged me nothing and gave me an estimate never charged me for what I didnt need

Asked them to swap my tires on my car and they told my the lift is too low. So I told them okay what about the regular jack lift it one by one it’ll work and they told me “no I’m not gonna do that” don’t waste your time here. Terrible service.

Pepboys in Centereach what is the purpose of making an appoitment for an oil change...if by the time I arrive there they told me to hold my keys and that I have to wait for 3 to 4 hours in addition to the 30minutes for the oil change (ridicuolus) .. About 7 months ago I took my car for oil change they told me the shocks of my car were bad that I need to replace them, my car was there almost the entire day ..for them to call me and say that the parts arrived however they order the wrong parts ..Never going there again

Need a change in the brake pad it ended changing my front tire four brake pads it ended up cost me 900 dollars for the whole thing the labor itself costs me 500 dollars. They never told me about the finally price until they done work on the car Their manner was rude, not even willing to talk or negotiate. the bill came in like 900. I was like what is going on here? On the other side, after a week from this horrible experience I had, my cars brake continually to make even more noise. then in a morning I decided to pay a visit to another shop, it turned they installed my brake pad wrong. Also one of my brake was coming off because one of the screw was missing. I was impressed the 700-dollars repair service they did from Pepboys Therefore, I am here to report this business DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE EVER A business like that should be closed immediately to protect the customers

Good honest service, however they are always trying to scare you into getting extra work done. I have been going for them for basically just oil changes and one time my brakes are going to go then the next time its problems with my transmission but no mention of my brakes from three months before.

I usually go to the pep boys in port jeff or the one in st james.they do a great job, never a long wait and never charge me for things I dont need.now the one in centereach ny, I cant say the same. I went there on a Saturday morning after calling there, they said they would take me as a walk in. I waited for 2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES. I have a pick up, and there was something clicking under the truck. after they ran their scan thingy, they gave me a list of things wrong with my car. what I thought to be atleast a 200 dollar job turned into 1300 dollar job!!!!! so I gave him 20 dollars for the scan thing and walked out. want to my mechanic. with the piece I bought from advance auto, the mechanic fees, plus a 20 tip. it came to 200!!!! not 1300!! if u value your money and ur vehicle DO NOT GO THERE!!

By far the worst shop i have ever been to i came in for an oil change and for them to check the brakes i needed brakes in the front they wound up breaking a line and breaking a bolt in my caliper and then that costed me 400 and change they scratched my door and dented it as well and on top of that rocky then proceeded to tell me it was there already in which it was not the car is a 2012 and WAS flawless and there mechanic got grease on my beige seat and tried to hide it and again when i confronted them they acted like it was there already a bunch of bs do not go here and easte your money the manager rocky gave me an attitude and was rude to me. THE WORST SHOP EVER!!!!!!! id rather go to a backyard mechanic....

Terrible repair job. They changed the timing belt in 2012 and then again in 2013 (no reason why). The car is running worse after their repair than before. The shop is busy and they do not care about the cars. They kept my car for two days there to break it.
