The workmen were on time and put floor protection on my stairs every day. They showed me what progress they had made keeping me informed throughout my project. The bathroom was cleaned up daily and they kept the garage neat. I definitely would use them again.

We would have used them but after they came and measured and explained our situation, we realized that we had family members that could probably do this. However, we had considerable interaction with this company and were really impressed with them. They were very professional, quick to respond to all of our questions, the administrative office was also easy to communicate and very knowledgeable about the business. Even after they realized we would be doing this ourselves, they still remained friendly and willing to help in anyway they could. They definitely deserve this 5-star review and we highly recommend their services.

This initial review is being left before the project is complete. I plan to edit this after completion. Thus far, I have only had inspections/estimates.I have a flat roof in Colorado (bad idea), and after heavy snow developed leaks in my ceiling in several places.I was contacted 5 minutes after making my insurance claim. They arranged for someone to be at my home the next day. Steve came to take pictures and make estimates and such. He was very professional and took the time to explain things in understandable terms. Before he left, I was comfortable that he was going to do everything possible to not only make sure that the interior ceiling damage would be repaired, but that the supporting structures between the ceiling and roof would be inspected and hopefully be included in the claim. The polymer flat roof will have to be replaced, and that will sadly be on my dime. I have been contacted since then and their company has kept me abreast of their progress and plan.I will edit this post after this project is complete to leave a full review.

What a great company. The people are great from the office to the contractors. They were very helpful with getting our house back together after we had a water leak. They were careful about not banging up that area not damaged. Very professional company!

From the first call to the follow up after service, the team at FGS was amazing. I had a slow leak from my AC that damaged the floor, wall, and ceiling from my utility room to the neighbor downstairs.They asked informed questions, guided me through options with repairs and insurance. They helped me understand next steps so I could communicate with my neighbor. Also worked patiently with both of us (me and my neighbor) to repair the damage, mitigate potential mold, and match to the existing walls.

We utilized FGS to mitigate and repair water damage in our basement theater room. FGS was recommended through our insurance company, USAA. FGS did a fabulous job from start to finish. Darick was our project manager and he was always available to answer questions and coordinate the work of their employees. The work crew was led by Elias who was very knowledgeable on the entire project. The water leak occurred in the ceiling and caused damage to the walls and trim. We had a custom paint job in the theater room and Elias worked tirelessly to get the colors looking just right. The workers always showed up on time and made sure to protect the other rooms adjacent to the theater room. I was very pleased with the final product which essentially put our theater room back to the way it was before the water leak. The pricing was consistent with what I was quoted prior to the start of the project. I would highly recommend First General Services.

First General Service was nothing but professional and responsive from the first moment I got a call from them. They were extremely helpful in dealing with our water damage and were able to answer every question. Steve went above and beyond answering questions and providing recommendations based on our needs. I absolutely will call them again in the future when I need recovery services.

FGS was the contractor for our USAA household insurance claim. I’m sure our project was small compared to other jobs but we felt we were just as much a priority as any other job. Erin communicated with us, followed through and was a pleasure to work with! He brought Chad in at installation who was equally good! Good people doing a good job!

FGS helped me out after I discovered a leaky kitchen sink drain pipe that did some water damage to my floor and drywall. All work was done very professionally. I was highly impressed with the craftmanship, attention-to-detail, and attitude expressed by the workers. If Im ever in a situation where I need a clean-up/repair, Ill look to FGS first! First General Services was the best contracting company I have ever worked with, from the people in the office to the people working out in the field.I was especially grateful that I had Mark Peters (Project Manager) assigned to my house restoration project. Mark and his team did an outstanding job on the repairs that were made to my home. I encountered and extensive amount of damage to my property due to hail this summer. This was not a small job to take on by any means. Mark was able to schedule a team of folks that were able to get started on my job right away. Mark and the team always showed up on-time, and was at the home when they said they would be. They made sure that they always cleaned up their area at the end of the day and I didn’t have to worry about excessive trash around my home as a result of the work that was being done. Mark was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions. He was able to identify products to use on my home that I had never heard of before which made my home look better than new. I hate to think of how my house would have turned out had I contracted with anyone else. Mark Peters is worth his weight in gold and First General Services is very lucky to have him as part of their team. I plan to use First General Services again for my home repairs and I would absolutely recommend First General Services to my friends and family as well.

We couldn’t have asked for a better contractor to help us when our kitchen was destroyed by a leaking dishwasher. From the initial phone call with Lucinda through the completion of the rebuild with Mark and Erin the communication was exceptional. We will be calling them again to complete the finish of our basement. I highly recommend First General Services.

Mark Peters and Elias were exceptional to work with. They set things up in a timely fashion and responded to requests and questions immediately. Their work was excellent. They communicated regularly with those who were in my house and checked their work for quality. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them. I have never had tile work and repair work that has looked this nice before.

This contractor started out well with getting my estimate to me in a timely fashion for a job to do a restoration project. However, everything else was downhill from there. Had to pay 50% down on the project to just be put in a 15 day waiting list to get a project manager. Once the project manager was selected he told me my project wouldnt be worked on till mid November. This was unacceptable so I called their scheduling department(the only people that I had a decent experience with) to tell them what the project manager told me and they had no clue. They put another project manager on the job but I was already on a time crunch to get the project done due to being on the waiting list for a project manager for almost 2 weeks. The new project manager didnt respond to me in a timely fashion so I decided not to do business with them. I dont know if this is common with them or not but this was my experience.

On January 1 of this year a pipe busted in my master bathroom while I was out of town. A neighbor noticed it when going to walk my dogs, by this time my wholeHouse was flooded on all 3 levels. I immediately called my insurance, who suggest mitigation people and called them. In the mean time I went to Facebook asking for help, and was recommended First General- immediately upon calling they asked if I had gotten mitigation people out... I said they hadn’t gotten out there yet but they had been called (hours ago). I decided to cancel them and use First General for mitigation and I was glad I did, as they were there with in 20 minutes of initial phone call. That was my first great impression of this company. I wasn’t home myself, and doing all this long distance was stressful enough. The fact they got to my house so quickly, when other companies would’ve taken hours was a great sign to me! I travel for work, and am out of town a lot. They made me feel at ease, and updated me constantly through out the process. There were a lot of hang ups with my insurance, which they handled very well and professionally. My HOA covers a lot more than a typical HOA- and there was major hold ups there.. on top of that, after a while my personal insurance was running out of funds for temporary housing (due to the HOA taking too long to accept the estimate) and I was worried I would be homeless at one point. The second everything was approved by insurance first General was so fast at getting the repairs done so that I wouldn’t have to worry about running out of temporary housing. I always felt like I was a priority, which made me never feel stressed out. I was so impressed with them. They worked hard to make sure I could move back in as soon as possible. It looks like a brand new place! Mark Peters, and Amy Amos were exceptional through the whole process. They really had my back through some of the insurance issues. Mark was great at helping me pick out what I needed and getting the work done efficiently- he also kept me in the loop the whole time. I have now decided to put my house on the market, and thanks to all their hard work the house has sold for more than I could’ve expected. They did phenomenal work! It was a pleasure working with you guys- I highly highly highly recommend this great team!

Our home was damaged by fire and was severely damaged last summer..We went with First General and so glad we did. Mark was our project manager him and his crew rebuilt our home and crushed it.. my home came out beautiful beyond what I expected. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was AWESOME..originally we predicted to be out till late April or May but because of these guys it was done mid March..What also made this great was Mark he was a straight shooter and was hands on with any problems and helped solve all issues. I would recommend these guys all day long.

I have used First General services on 2 hail damage claims. They have been excellent, efficient, and very professional. I had a fabulous customer experience with Mark Peters as my project manager this time. Mark took care of every detail and went out of his way to assist me with additional scope of work needed to meet home inspection requirements. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would request him again if the need arises.

My wife and I recently had some damage done to our house due to a storm. We needed new roofing, new kitchen cabinets and flooring. Our home was damaged by fire and was completely destroyed last summer..We went with first general and so glad we did. Mark was our project manger him and his crew rebuilt our home and they crushed it, it is more beautiful now after the rebuild. Originally we predicted to be out till late April or May but because of these guys was done midway March, the craftmanship and attention to detail was AWESOME. What I liked most was any problems Mark was there and was a straight shooter and helped solve all issues. I reccomend these guys all day long.

We are in contract to sell our house and needed a quick deck post repair. We first contacted the company that built our deck and they said the earliest they could come would be 3 months from now. First General Services has built beautiful decks in our neighborhood and even though we were not a client, they came out within a week to complete the needed work. We will definitely be calling them for our future deck needs.

Love these guys! Their pricing is very reasonable, and they give you a clear idea about what will happen at when. Also I love them for how detail oriented they are! When I found them online, my last contractor messed up my schedule, so I was very tight on time to finish remodeling my new business unit. These guys came in and get started in 3 days, and finished it even before the deadline!

UPDATE: USAA stop payment on the check and will investigate FGs status as a recommended contractor. This is after FGs Lucinda called saying the dont even want to do the job.Also see review for CLEANMASTER which is another division also with issues.Rating First General of Denver is easy because they took the money from my insurance company, USAA, and STILL have not responded to any attempts to schedule the work!USAA recommends this company but after this, I seriously doubt that will be the case!When, or IF they ever respond and do the work, Ill provide a review of their quality and value.Right now... I DO NOT recommend using First General and have to deal with a hole in my ceiling their other division, CleanMaster, left there!

My home was damaged in a hail storm on July 5th. To date (November 1st) the damages still havent been repaired, despite constant communication attempts with the company and payment already being released by my insurance company. The only response I get to my inquiries are excuses. My yard is littered with their ladders, my garage is littered with ther leftover supplies (to include exposed blades), and the work that they have started remains unfinished.Literally, entire homes have been built in my neighborhood during this same time frame. If you have a choice, GO ELSEWHERE.

New roof after hail damage.This company refuses to take responsibiiity for mistakes they make. They went so far as to get the shingle manufacture to alter their warranty, or “make an exception” so they did not have to fix their mistake.There are plenty of reputable roofers. No reason to use them. I’m glad to speak personally to anyone about my experience with First General.

This is what I have dealt with so far with this company:This company is not dependable and takes their time on getting the work done. They will be quick to give you excuses and tell you that another call had come up. They are either short people or just taking on more than they can handle. We were having part of our basement redone due to some water damage and it has literally taken them 37 days (still unfinished) due to waiting on some supplies to show up. They have promised us 4 different times that the work would be completed, well as mentioned we are still waiting!If you need a good, punctual contractor who wont waste your time do not choose this company. Not only does the project manager not call to ask when we will be home, but he just doesnt show up. Im now asking for another project manager to be assigned because of flooring that didnt have enough glue put on. Surprised to see that Im the only one that has posted about this company so far on here.....Dont let this company have your money, ask your realtor and usually they will have someone decently priced for you.

An insurance claim for hail damage (roof repair mostly) took 14 months to complete. They had consistent poor communication internally and externally. They could not coordinate with my tenant an myself. It was always one or the other and several times neither. It took 3 on-site estimates just to get started, eating my and my tenants time. They agreed to replace the fan cover on the air-source heatpump (similar to AC condenser) ASAP on 4 separate occasions and did not actually complete that for 12 months. Approximately 7 months into the project they completely covered the heatpump in winter. This could have overheated the pump and would have left my tenant with no heat. The new back door took 2 months of coordination to get caulk around it.
