When you ship with a Large company, your risk of losing your product and business reputation goes up dramatically! When you ship with CRST, your risk is so high it is incalculable! CRST is a training company that can not effectively manage the safety risk their driver can pose.Ship with a small company or a all Owners Operator company. They can’t afford missteps.

A great trucking company overall! But the shop employees at CRST terminal Cedar Rapids are unwelcoming. Especially the person at the parts is very disrespectful. He yells and rushes you to leave the shop and even refuses to give some parts that approved by the DM.

I drove for them for about 6 months. There was a lot of down time. If we completed a load on Thursday we would have to wait until Monday for another load. The dispatcher lied to us all the time, promising us there would be a load as soon as we finished the one we had, never happened. the pay is very bad. They will have you go 100 miles out of the way instead of taking a toll road. Very bad company to drive for. Go to Schneider, they are a lot better.

At 1.5 billion, yes thats b as in billion dollar a year Revenue you find yourself working for the 1% and the most they can pay you is $0.25 a mile. You might as well go back to work for McDonalds. Working for this company is as close to the gates of hell as a man can get with his heart still beating. Look the simple fact of the matter is that you are now a trained monkey for this company, and no matter how long you stay you will be nothing more than that trained monkey. Just friendly advice use them for what you need and move on to better greener pastures

No support for recruits. Dot physical location CJCOOPER which they use are not very professional nor knowledgeable. Sent me in circles while there. Dont go by their itineraries because they change constantly with no notice. Beware of contracts. They try rushing you to sign them. Be prepared to tell the instructor to hush and wait.

Worst place Ive ever been. Everything that was said turned out to be b*llsh*t lies. No money to be made on lease purchase. Been here two weeks and delivered two loads.No help from main office either. They say they have an open door policy but never return any calls and you cant reach anybody there.Nobody their has a honest bone in their body. Gave 20 day notice today to walk away from lease, lets see if that was true

Been here a week and already got shafted. If THEY shut trucks down due to adverse weather, causing you to be late on a load, dont expect detention pay when you arrive at the consignee. Theyll essentially hold the driver liable for it being late...

Was taught the absolute bare minimum to be able to pass your test. They expect your lead driver trainer whatever to teach you the rest. I had a family emergency in TN that I had to leave for mid orientation. I explained that I would come back to another class and my recruiter LAUGHED at me and told me Goodluck getting my CDL from the DOT. I PASSED all of my tests and yet was having to fight for them to send my road test scores down to the DOT. I spoke to a higher up who apologized and explained that yes I would still get my CDL and that it was fine to come back to another class. Yet barely a week or 2 later I was already getting notices about collections and my company record showed that I was denied employment. My husband who was also hired, we were to team, was all of a sudden denied too. After all this I had to fight hard to get any class A job as anytime I would tell companies NADTA OR CRST they literally hung up on me. I finally quit reporting where I got my CDL from

This company is dishonest and lies to people. I was lied to by Carol Feldman a recruiter. I was there 3 days and they disqualified me for a traffic accident that happened two years ago which I told Carol the liar about. Now I get a bill in the mail randomly for $1,000+ from a debt collector. These idiots didn’t have the decency to mail me anything first. This company is dishonest and should fall in a hole, karma comes back around. DO NOT GO HERE IM WARNING YOU NOW!

Worked for them for 21 days. Pulled me iff ny trainers truck & stuck me with my friend who had no business being a trainer all because he said he was my bf which was a lie. He put me in a dangerous situation that I wasnt prepared to handle and neither was he. I went through 5 to 6 trucks in those 21 days. Only completed 1500 miles of my training. Spent a fair amount of time sitting waiting for a 3 axle alignment. They proceeded to blacklist me so I cant drive for anyone else because of their contract. Thx crusty

The school is good.The rooms they give you to stay in may have bedbugs.A lot of people that stay in the CRST housing are not the cleanest people. Wash hands regularly are be prepared for a trip to the hospital due to illness.

I had a great experience when I was there, did not see any new bed bugs in my room. I had two different rooms. If anything the people brought them them there when they came.

First, youre told that after their school youll be guaranteed 3,000 miles per week. NOT TRUE. Over a period of four months, and being on-time, every time and not one ticket or accident I was granted fewer and fewer miles. When I dropped the tractor off in Fort Worth, I started work a week later at a GROCERY STORE and made better money. Most honest drivers will tell you that CRST is NOT a company to drive for.

I have nothing bad to say about CRST. I felt as if i was screwed by their school...i wasnt trained for success and was given the short end of the educational stick....Dennis Harrington is the most uncaring and heartless person alive!!! He sent a homeless man home and didnt give anyone a chance!!!! I love Chad, Shawn, Jewel, Shawn, Brandy and Sarah and George!!! But Dennis Harrington and heartless shaft of a man his credentials needs to be evaluated!!!!! BUT CRST IS A WONDERFUL COMPANY!!! This place is a joke everyone tell you what you want to hear. When you ask them about something they told you they say oh we didnt tell you that. Everyone is rude that works here and has an attitude toward people. Dont ask the front desk about the schedule for the van because they get an attitude. Dont ask the van driver where they going after they get back from a trip or ask them how long it will be because they get an attitude. They told me 3 week school is it now they saying it may be an extra week which will put people in class for 4 weeks instead of 3 weeks. That makes them away from their family longer then they was told. They want you to pay 6500 dollars for the school and the dorm room is like jail.

Dishonest. Never pays as well as represented. Have done different jobs and routes. When youre over the road continually left to sit waiting on loads. Have to check every paystub to make sure youre not shorted which happens

Can you please fix the Wi-Fi problems. Some of us want to study in peace in our own rooms, please provide Wi-Fi there.Lodging is fine, they provide you a good place to stay & sleep. The breakfast is alright. Lunch is just not enough to feel like you ate something, could provide a little bit more.

For aspiring new truck drivers, absolutely do not get your CDL from this company. They are the worst and they make you sign a contract before you even get your license. They will have you working below minimum wage to pay off the amount you owe them for 9 months. That is slavery. For those that say all trucking company lie. CRST is the biggest lie for new drivers you have been warned.

Leased a truck there but they charge you for wiping your butt and micromanage eaven experienced driver to the point of pissing them off 3/4 of the dispatchers dont give a rats ass about anything. Maintenance is a joke the bullcrap is through the roof dont train there go to Pam or us express hell even swift would be an improvement or Cedar rapids slave traders.

This is the worst trucking school you wanted to go to....I went there in order to get my CDL...welll I end up getting sick because of to many student living the worst live 4 peoples in 1 bed....yes thats right... then I wanted to just go home they told me I will get charged the whole amount either I stayed or not....very very bad customer services ...so please dont let the recruiter tells you the story ....do not attend this CRST trucking school for any reason I promised you will regret.

$200 in 8 days you can make that at McDonalds. I understand break iowns and mishaps happen its part of the job. However other companies no you made a decision to be away from your family to provide and they compensate you for it much better. I sent qual comm message last Friday and because my dispatcher was out she said I didnt give notice I think the office people need to learn to communicate better with each other. When I advised her of this she said they probably assumed I was a driver just blowing smoke. Well I was taught the definition of assume make an ass of you and me. Yes sometimes drivers just need to vent and they probably would just vent and go on if you at least took the time to take every driver serious as a person not a driver ID number. If each dispatcher has to many drivers to do this with maybe you should hire more dispatchers and less drivers.

You do more sitting at truck stops and dead miles than anything else. not enough money and they lie about everything. worst company ever!!! New students do not go their, there is plenty of other companies out there.

I am a trainer for CRST. This company has been good to me. Any problem that may comebup, dispatch was helping me tackle it. The staff works vigorously to help with any issues I might have. I went through a program at JTech in Jacksonville, Fl.. I went there to obtain the knowledge and driving experience to operate a CMV safely and responsibly. Overall a pretty descent company to get a start with.

This is a total scam. After school, the lead driver will take you out for a month or two. During that time you earn .12 per mile. After that you get .12 per mile for the next 3 months and then you get .01 per mile raise. Its really an insult. Even if you run the maximum miles you cannot make a living with this company. It is indentured servitude and should be outlawed. Im stuck with it for another month and then Im soooo gone.

A Learning Experience at best. I worked for them for 9 months, and its a big eye-opener into the transportation industry. First this is a Teams company. This means that you will have to put your life into someone elses hand while you attempt to sleep in a moving truck. And be prepared to be expected to turn miles for crap pay. Students fresh out of CDL school will earn $0.25/mile. But thats not what you drive. Thats half of what the truck is credited with. And thats not even actual driven miles. Miles are based on center of zip code to center of zip code, or Rand McNally miles. This company has such a high turn-over rate for drivers because of the low pay, and sometimes lack of miles. One good thing is you do get driving experience. So use it for what it is--a learning experience. If you think you can handle the 10-month mandatory contract for new drivers, despite the above complaints, then go for it. Otherwise there are other companies out there that are better and worse. Just remember that Trucking is something that you WANT TO DO, not something YOU DO FOR THE PAYCHECK.

Its ok. You can go her to get your CDL license. They pay for everything. You just sign a 10 mouth contract.

This is 1 reason trucking has went to hell folks. Crst truck #116110 pulling trl 810153 just sat in a fuel island for almost 11/2 hrs. Blocking the island at a quicktrip in des moines, ia. The colored female driver went in got groceries then her an her possible trainee sat there and ate then talked and had a few smokes. This is no way good to b training people to block islands.but im sure even the trainer was taught that this is ok..get a grip on ur drivers crst..

OK dont get me wrong I liked it here when i first got here I applied myself and busted my butt... I sold my car just to get too crst! I got my permit the first try! They let me get this far just to tell me there were putting me out on the street and I had to find my own way home because I had 2 misdemeanors in the past 5 years... So if your a perfect person Id say ur the one for the job.. But there was only one that was perfect and that would be the good lord himself!! I dont understand having a misdemeanor I can still vote still buy weapons but cant drive for this company thats ridiculous... So now Im useing the last few dollars I have to get back home!! And guess what Im going home empty handed worse off than I was before jobless broke and with no vehicle! Thats great! So if u want my opinion dont even think about going to CRST! There no good in all honesty!!

I read the reviews for CRST and I have to say the majority of the bad ones are BS. Coming first hand from someone who lived with an employee and had to listen to the day in and day out of everything I would like to point out a few things1. .25 is the start out pay for a student, you DO NOT SPLIT THE PAY YOU SPLIT THE MILES! Its one of the biggest rumors going on.2. They do not strand you!------- If you fail a drug test/lie about your app/ get caught drinking-drugs on campus yes you are expelled and you do have to find your own transport home, same thing goes for people who have family emergencies ect. If you fail your test or have a medical issue THEY WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORT HOME! They bring you in to hire you, as any good business would do.3. Have a grown up attitude about it. If they ask you to do something, do it, they are the employer you are an applicant who is going through a 4 week long interview.4. Its a good way to get your foot in the door of one of the nations largest dob fields, and they pay for it as well!Experiance it for yourself, dont take someone elses word for it. If you want it achieve it, its that simple!

OK. So first of all if you are broke with no money at all and no experience at all then the school is really not a bad idea. It will get you your CDL and experience that you need to move onto a better company. Now for the bad. If you have any experience at all then do not even waste your time with this company. They promise you a rate per mile and sign on bonus and orientation pay and when you get there it all changes. They also tell you that you will be staying in a hotel and when you go half way across the country and get there, they will put you in dorms with the students. The issues with the dorms are that the entire dorma are infested with mold and mildew. I get sick about once every 5 years. I was there for 2 days and get a chest infection because of the powerful mold/mildew issue. Another issue is that they are so very unorganized. The recruiters will tell you anything to get you there and when you get there they tell you that you dont get a sign on bonus, you dont get orientation pay, and they will try to change your rate of pay. Now not me but numerous guys that had 10+ years of experience were told that they have to take a refresher course once they got there. And by the way they dont pay you while you are there. I do not have a perfect driving record however I asked my recruiter about 10 times if they can hire me and told my cruiter every single thing that was on my record. I rode the greyhound bus from the eat coast all the way to Iowa and was there for one day and then they told me they could not hire me. And then they even tried to make me pay my way home. The people there are not professional at all. So moral of the story is dont waste your time with them unless you are broke with no experience at all.

The training was bad. They allowed students who failed their backing 5, 6, 7, times in a row to pass the CDL skills backing test

During this 4 months i am in CRST had really very bad experiences, continue working here because i respect the Contract i signed, i am not going to talk bad here but this is a good opportunity to say some suggestions and things that could make CRST a better Company if some people at front of the direction of the organization read this:Suggestions:1.- The recruiters before the people comes from their cities should tell them for study the questions and answers for the 3 test to obtain the permit (they can do perfectly this during their long trip in Greyhound)In my case i just come to IOWA on Monday without sleep two days and two days after i was doing the Test2.- The Company should consider give a dinner to the Students, most of them are broke and dont have any money to invest in food, It is an offense to give a lunch student only one loaf of bread with a sausage for the whole day.It would be good the executives should experience the service themselves and eat what is served to the students so they can know what Im talking about3.- See how to replace the thin blankets that do not shelter for better quality and verify that the air conditioning systems in the rooms work properly, the company must take into consideration that it is giving accommodation to humans and not animals so Should improve their services.4.- At the conclusion of the stage of work with the Lead Drivers, the students must issue a report of the good and bad things they have observed so that the company does not continue to hire lead drivers that do the opposite of what a student learned at NADTA.In my case i had i Lead Driver that urinating in bottles inside the truck, I was forced to sleep in the high part of the truck going against the safety rules, do not let me go to the bathroom when I needed the toilet and dont accept to stop the truck when I had to eat, I often ate once a day, Improperly modified my Qualcomm reports in which put less hours of driving, never made the pre-trip inspections and many other things i send to the Company in a extensive letter.What actions take Human Resources about this? and What happened to this Lead Driver? Nothing! continue working for the company, its really incredible but is true.5.- The Drivers Managers should bring a direct mobile number to the Drivers, the communication is necessary and important in all the organizationsI try to communicate several times with My first Driver Manager and never get it, The phone numbers leave me waiting half an hour and never respond6.- The Drivers Managers Should be responsible for the good working conditions for the truck Drivers.My first Driver Manager send a message to my lead driver to leave me on Friday at Crst Terminal in Pennsylvania during the winter below 0 without money, accommodation, any coordination about my situation, i was with fever and have to do my own stuff with my resources.The Company reimbursement this after one month and more than 10 emails i send to 3 different Driver Managers7.- If a truck Driver say is Non Smoker the Company cant put a Co Driver Smoker, That is a complete and total lack of respect that also goes against healthIn my case i have I had to breathe for a week smoker and I was sick for two days with allergy and headacheConclusion:There are a lot of things should change if they want CRST would be a good and professional Company, in this cases my Suggestion is that the Directives and Directors should make what the students and Drivers do, is very easy talk behind a Desk

DONT DO THEIR STUDENT PROGRAM. Once you pass the tests and sign their contract, youve basically spread your ass to be at their mercy until your contract is up or until you leave and go in debt $7k to them. Trust me, youre better off taking out a loan for a real CDL school than being an indentured servant to them once you get your license.Their school only teaches you to pass a test, nothing real world and theyre severely understaffed. Their turn out is horrible too; nearly everyone I knew from training left within 6months because of how poorly CRST treats their employees.For example:I got kidney stones and had it go to the hospital when I was working for them and they had my codriver leave me in MO to go to CT. When I was out of the hospital the next day, I was told I had to wait till my DM was back after the weekendi before they could do anything.I was stranded for days.They wouldnt pay for a hotel for me or a bus ticket. Only after my DM saw my discharge papers days later did they give me money for a greyhound ticket to go from MO to PA.They. Dont. Care. About. You.

Good company to work for. .Ive been working for CRST for almost 2 years. They have treated me good and fair. If you start with an OTR over the road driving company like this one than expect to be away from home. Youll start from the bottom and work your way up. Dont expect anything to be handed to you. You have to earn it the old fashioned way Like actually working for your money. Spoiled rotten Kids nowadays dont know the meaNing of real work.

One of your truck drivers Richard Pierce from Oklahoma was disrespectful to me while I was just trying to make small talk to him while I was working at my job, he also had an entitled attitude about things and it seemed to me he already had a pissy attitude which possibly was the reason why he was disrespectful. I was only trying to do my job.

This is really NOT a bad place to work. I am a Lead driver who take student out for 21 days and 10,000 miles . You just cant be a little butter cup and cry about everything.I get paid well making about 1100 a week . Keep the left door shut and roll. Btw it a OTR position so you will not be home every weekend. But when you request hometime you will get it.Just be respectful to your DM and you could do really well here too

Worked here for 4 months now... rough start... trainer was a thief and truckstop queen, no miles during training. After training, first codriver quit, had to find my own replacement, sat for over a week on breakdown 3000mi from home to the point of starvation, 43 days out with no mention of hometime yet, even though Ive made multiple requests, cant make enough money to feed myself or send money home for my kids, can drive better than ANY of their other drivers due to growing up in a trucker family, i was driving a rig before most of these idiots had a 4-wheeler license and Im only 27... that being said, Ive seen 40 states in 4 months, Ive learned a lot about hours of service, my codriver and i get along very well, and after a stern b**ching to my Fleet Manager (he didnt know we were sitting in the Cedar Rapids Terminal Parking Lot) the miles started coming, the loads are getting better, payroll hasnt screwed up as much, i actually got a check over $200... you get what you put in with this company... if you want the money and the experience you have to show them what youre made of... prove yourself... then bring your proof to the front door... dont threaten to quit, pointless, they have 20 students to replace you every week... stick it out til the end of the contract, then move on to another company... or get out of driving altogether... any and all the trucking companies lie... CRST is no different... but its an easy, fast way to your CDL and with a little patience and determination the money will come... good luck future drivers!

First and foremost let me put things in prospective as far as(crst) being a current driver for (crst) i have tooken the bitterness with the sweetness; if any one knows being a professional driver you are going to have your advantages and disadvantages i had to expand my horrizons to find out what these companies was all about,check it out take notes & reflect,i have test water with Swift,Central,CR England & almost a prospect of Covent,(iam not a advocate for Crst) all these companies is under the same banner,same philosophy perhaps a different formula.you only going to get out what you put into it,when i first came to CRST i hated them with a passion (but) i reach out to my conscious & said i can use this to my advantage.there is no short cuts.why use all your aminition to blast the company ? in this line of business you got to get down & dirty (only the real truckers survive)....

This is home office for CRST trucking company. A very large campus with lots of amenities on site and near by.

They dont pay you what they claim then when they say that your going to be reimbursed they dont they dont care what there trainers do or if you get along with them and there school you go to first is a crock . then when you call in you get the run around and hung up on .. i dont know how they treat there customers they deliver loads for but they treat there employees like crap

CRST is a big gimmick. They had me work a whole week and they took my entire check to pay off some of the schooling, this was the day before Christmas Eve. I also was kicked off the truck by a lead driver in Wyoming and it was 9 degrees and snowing. The company does not care about the safety of there employees. They have left me hanging.

Do your research first, before making a decision.There are other ways to get your CDL than thru CRST.Not a recommendation.
