Hello,Ive been a customer at Ginsbergs since they was downtown. They are so personable with everyone that comes in. Thats what I like about them. They do not try to sell something you dont want, but help you find what suits you best. Whether an engagement ring or just a necklace. This probably the best family owned jewelry store in Cedar Rapids. They dont try to push overly priced rings or wedding bands that has cheap quality like most corporate stores.Steven Ginsberg personally cares about your family, loved one, and event which means his store delivers the top notch service, high end jewelry, at a great prices that are very competitive.

Our experience at Ginsberg Jewelers was nothing short of outstanding. We were first served by Herman who helped us choose an engagement ring. My bride had an idea of what she wanted going in, but there was a particular ring that Herman showed us that once she tried it on, she didnt want to take it off! He was very helpful in telling us about the histories of the different cuts and how certain styles of bands have changed through the years. Then Steve helped me pick out a stone. Seeing the process of how stones are ordered was really cool. Once the stone was picked it took less than a week to have it delivered and set into the band. I was very impressed. I thought it would take much longer. And then on my 3rd visit Kendy helped me pick out my wedding band. I thought I wanted an alternative metal due to durability. But I wasnt digging anything I tried on. Then Kendy told be about the benefits of classic gold. I tried on a simple white gold band and I was sold. I absolutely love it. And Ive never been a ring person. Overall I couldnt be happier with Ginsberg Jewelers. And my bride gets stopped all the time to be complimented on her ring. I know I made the right choice!

We bought our wedding rings from Ginsberg Jewelers back in 1979. We have always liked them. Herman always took the time to say hello and was very friendly. We recently went into the store and I had my wifes wedding ring checked and it needed to be rebuilt. It didnt take long at all to have all the prongs redone. We dropped it off on a Friday and got a call Tuesday that it was finished! I realize this may not always be the circumstances to get your rings back so quickly. It looks beautiful as it did the day we purchased it. If anybody is looking for a place to go for wedding rings or watches or other Fine Jewelry I have to say this is the place!

Ginsberg’s jewelers repaired my wedding and anniversary ring, which contain family diamonds. I lost one of the diamonds and they replaced it and checked to make sure all the other prongs were secure. And they even stayed open late so I could pick it up after I got off work. I trust them completely and appreciate the personalized service!

There is nothing better than a small, family business, especially when it is as welcoming as Ginsberg Jewelers. Take for example, the night I called to ask if I could bring my wife’s watch in to have the bracelet adjusted so it would fit her wrist. Retired owner and family patriarch, Herman Ginsberg, said to bring it in and he, or son Steve, would adjust it. I asked what time they close and Herman answered, “Five o’clock.” I looked at my watch and it was Four minutes after Five, so I said I would bring it in tomorrow. Whereby Herman replied, “Bring it now, we don’t run out of here at Five.”I know of no other business, large or small, with Customer Service like that of Ginsberg Jewelry.

I purchased small and simple diamond and emerald ring to use as a guard ring to secure my grandmothers ring from slipping off. Since I did not inform the sales person as to the intended purpose, I did not realize that I had not made a good choice. After a few wearings with Grandmothers ring, and less than one month, one of the emeralds came off and was lost. I did not know that when wearing two rings on the same finger, each stone on both rings needs to be secured and protected by sturdy pronged mounts.Ginsbergs was gracious, educated me, and credited my full purchase of the first ring toward a better ring. I now have the security I was wanting for Grandmothers ring, and it is complimentary without competition.Ginsbergs also checked the other rings I was wearing to make sure all other sets were secure, and found one that was about to be lost. I was also given a jar of jewelry cleaner, along with many apologies for my troubles.Extremely nice and helpful people, and I would most sincerely and highly reccomend them in the future.

They saved my mother’s ring guard which had lost a diamond, discovered seven damaged spokes where I could have lost more diamonds, repaired where the ring had pulled away from the carriage. By restoring and repairing this keepsake, our daughter will have her beloved “Gram’s” ring guard someday. They also reappraised the ring guard and two other family pieces for us. Steve Ginsberg was so kind and knowledgeable. I have known Steve and his father Herman for many years and they have always treated me with the best professional courtesy. I was buying a graduation present for my son and Steve totally explained the special workings of the watch that I was purchasing. We talked about engraving on the back and I gave him a couple different options and he said I think we should go with “more the better” which surprised me but I was happy. Bottom line, Steve took very good care of me!

Walked in to get my watch battery changed. Someone promptly walked out of the back and greeted me. No wait time. When I asked if they could change my battery (no prior business there) Steven said he’d be right back, took my watch, changed my battery within 5 minutes. Genuinely a pleasant experience. Will be returning for all of my jeweler needs.

Staff was very helpful and understood what I was wanting. I knew it would take a few weeks, but they kept me informed every step of the way.

Only reason they are getting a one star is that there isn’t a no star rating. Purchased a necklace for my wife with the promise of “if she isn’t completely thrilled we will be happy to exchange it for another”. After picking out an exchange and being told it will ordered we have been completely dismissed. The runaround is amazing, when I call they act as if they have no idea what I am talking about, promises of call backs that never happen, when I call them they make excuses of conveniently losing my number. My favorite is being told that I should exchange it for some POS heart shaped ring. If I wanted a ring I would have purchased one. I will go back today if I again get the runaround it’s time to call the CFPB (consumer fraud protection bureau). At this point I wouldn’t buy ice water from them if I were standing in the desert.
