This place has not only been my go to getting quality keys cut, but also for mobile services. They always do a great job and my keys never stick. My kids always seem to lose their keys, and here I can get a unique key for each person to track We all know chip and transponder keys are expensive. I had 2 broken chip keys and they were able to find a solution saving me a lot of money.I always feel that this company has the best interest of the customer. I love this company!!!!

Great hometown feel. Friendly and helpful people. The only reason they dont have 5 stars is their hours of operation. Theyre kind of limited on the business hours but since they are a small business, I kind of understand why they operate that way

After a long arduous trip through traffic to the nearest Ford dealership they couldnt cut a key for my 2014 Ford Explorer but Cedar Park Lock and Key was able to come to my rural Leander address and cut the key on the spot for a great price. He is very courteous, professional and trustworthy.

When calling Cedar Park Lock and Key, I was greeted by a friendly voice ready to help answer all of my questions. I received an estimation of costs and an appointment scheduled for the following week. Locksmith came on time and performed the requested services and also had backup material available when it became clear additional locks were needed. No surprises along the way. Will use them again for future jobs!

If I could give 10 stars, I certainly would! The owners of this business are an amazing husband and wife team who were such a pleasure to deal with and who helped me out tremendously. From my first phone call to the completion of the job, it was obvious they are very honest, knowledgeable, caring and have a tons of integrity. Needing a locksmith can be a very stressful event. I was in a bind and they took the time to help me get through it. THANK YOU Cedar Park Lock and Key for all you did to help me out!

These small family owned businesses are the best, period! After my mother took a lock cylinder and key to Cothrans they told her a certain high amount to change the tumblers to rekey which seemed way high. My mother left and I called myself to ask how much the cost is to rekey a lock cylinder to my surprise Cothrans stated a different amount than what they told my mother in person when I spoke with Eli. I called again as my mother just wasted 30 minutes driving and spoke with Dave and he stated it was the same high amount he quoted my mother. We left and are so glad we used Cedar Park Lock and Key instead. They were more professional and cheaper than Cothrans and they did it right on the spot! Talk about fantastic customer service!! Cedar Park Lock and Key has my business from now on!

Called at 8:50 AM to ask about having a key fixed and was told it was no problem but he stressed he was still 10 - 30 minutes from being there. I am a store manager so I had plenty of work to do so I waited the 30 minutes and drove in. I waited another 15 minutes at the door then called again. Another 30 minutes he remarked this time. I waited outside their business for an additional 40 minutes before leaving. As a manager myself this is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would never lie to a customer or waste over an hour of their time. Im now behind on my work as well as still having a broken key I have to take to a more professional business. I like supporting smaller businesses but Id highly recommend people stay away from this one. At the very least know they are closed on Saturdays despite claims otherwise.

I needed a copy of my key for a used Lexus I purchased in private sale where the owner gave me only one key. This is not one of those modern chip keys, but is the kind of key that requires using a special machine for the way the grooves are cut. So I knew the cost would be much higher than for normal keys.I called around and got prices around $50, while Cedar Park Lock & Key did it for $35. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, showing all the warmth of a long-standing mom-and-pop business that they are. The key works great, and now I know where Ill go for any future lock & key needs.

Two stars for the fact that 1, my lock was fixed, and 2, it was fixed quickly. (My key wouldnt lock my door, but could unlock it). How?Added some silicone based lubricant. It only took 26 minutes in total for a phone call (4:20pm) to have a locksmith sent out (arrived 4:35p), lube the lock, write a service ticket and left at 4:40p.Took 5 minutes TOPS for the actual service, half of that to write up a service ticket for $68.00+$5.61 tax for a grand total of $73.61.The lady I spoke to when I called initially asked me to describe in detail what was wrong with my lock and the situation. I was not offered any silly advice such as have you tried to lubricate the lock, or something, for us plebs.I called again, post-service, at 4:46p to express $73.61 was a bit much and I just didnt see or understand the value of what it was I purchased (like, was their work guaranteed? I still dont know the answer).Considering I utilized SOME of their silicone lubricant and the gas it took to get here, which was obviously not much (because the locksmith had already made it back to their office) and probably adds up to something like $1.50, perhaps adding in the time for the locksmith, but I dont know anybody who makes $169.87/hr, thats pretty much the rate I was charged for all-in-all a 1 minute quick fix.I also asked about the tax for a locksmith service, because I was unaware that you could charge tax on a service, to which I was told youll have to take that up with the comptroller. Rude, it was just a question.Mid-rant, the lady apparently did not want to listen to me anymore, just hands the phone to the locksmith (who had just left my house) and he introduced himself as the person who was just here. He told me various things such as how they usually tell their clients about lubricating the lock, how he performed a service by fixing my lock, and that Im paying for things such as how it took a vehicle to drive to my house. Also he even mentioned to me how he could have easily charged me twice as much, but he was being nice.Beyond that, I hope youre not looking to this place for ANY type of customer service or for any type of client education for that matter. They sound like a bunch of jaded folks who are unhappy with their job. I cant imagine why they are so unhappy if theyre charging out the wazoo for something they could just recommend to their customers over the phone (perhaps their customers like to object to their pricing structure often). Spare me by not wasting your gas driving the 2 minutes to and from my home without so much as a smile and then making me pay half of your car insurance for the month.Look, my point is that if you call tech support or a plumbing service, theyll ask you silly troubleshooting questions such as have you plugged in your monitor, or turned the device off then on, or have you tried pressing the reset button on your garbage disposal, before sending out someone to have a look at such a high price.

Please make sure you specifically tell them what you want, and hold them to it. If the one who called and placed the order is not present, you will be up sold.Hired this guy on Monday as part of routine punch list process for one of my clients. When initially called, I specified the situation, I was a GC getting done with a renovation and needed a total of two exterior doors rekeyed, which both had a standard lock handle and deadbolt so a total of 4 rekeys. They mentioned itd be ~$128, I also specified that I would not be present and that my client would be able to give them their house keys so he could use to rekey the new doors. When the guy arrived he apparently thought I the GC was the homeowner and that he was supposed to rekey the whole house. Of course he said that my client specifically asked him to rekey the whole house, and since he thought my client was me. When I called the guy, he flipped out on me and said the my client was full of *$#& and how he just did what he was told.... Needless to say, we wont be using their services again unless Im specifically there to make sure I dont get up sold through my clients.

Lets just say they are not experts in the field. I brought in a special order key for my motorcycle and they cut it wrong and it didnt fit. Besides paying $15 for the blank that I brought in, they made me pay $10 for the service. The service of ruining my key? I asked them what went wrong and the guy tells me that he didnt notice the extra groove on the side. HELLO! You are a locksmith! I didnt ask you to tune my piano! Top notch expertise and service. I purchased some smartkey kwikset door hardware from Lowes. This smartkey product product broke and would not unlock after my son slammed the door. The owner of Cedar Park Lock and Key, was very helpful in investigating the problem. He opened the lock and showed me the under sized wafers that are used in this type of lock instead of the more stable pins that should be used. One damaged wafer caused the 50 dollar lock to fail. After finding the problem he ordered me better hardware from kwikset... More stable and more secure. Great to have professional skills like this in constrast to the guy at lowes who told me he could not help me with my broken lock.
