I had had a non dolls taxi driver who was horrible and I was nervous the next time I had to use a taxi but this company Dollies taxi was a wonderful driver very safe stayed in the lines communicated with me when I felt like visiting and also kept to the resell when I was not so talkative. Kept eyes on the road the entire time and also has advice on the places I should visit and interesting facts about the area that I never would have known. Great company to hire for commuting anywhere in the area. It was a very wintery icy day and they did not concern a worry wart like me once. I would definitely call for there services in the future.

Their unreliable and they dont show up , 2 times this month September 02 I had apt with a. Surgeon and its a big surgey . They never came or called me .today 09/23 again they never showed up .my insurance company said theyre complaints alot .So let your insurance company know that you want another company to transport you.

Dollys is AWFUL. They have been late to pick me up and canceled at the last minute more times than I can count. Also many times they have left me at my appointment for hours after the pickup time. Once I got out of an appt at 2 and did not get home until almost 8 pm. Instead of telling me that the wait would be up to 5 hours so that I could try finding someone else, they kept telling me that theyd be there before too long or it will be a little bit, were not sure yet. I never use them if I can help it.

This is the worst cab service there is. The dispatch was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I literally needed a cab to go somewhere for 2 minutes to pick up school books and then get dropped back at pickup location. The dispatch refused to do this even though I was paying for the trip both ways. Then I offered to SCHEDULE a cab ride to pick me up 2 minutes from the destination since the dispatch said she couldnt do it in one trip, essentially it will be the same cab driver who picked me up taking me back since it wouldnt make sense to send another cab when theres one of theirs already there. The dispatch also refused this request. She then became belligerent giving me a mini lecture on how if I dont like it I should call sometime else right before hanging up on me. Its amazing this cab service is still in business with there unprofessionalism but reading some of the other reviews it looks like they may not last long.PLEASE AVOID THIS CAB COMPANY!!!!!!

I had a third party payer -(business account) schedule my travel the morning. The driver called and let me know he would be there in 5 minutes and I acknowledged that via phone. Upon meeting the cab outside the Driver demanded to know how I was going to make payment. I said it was paid by the business and scheduled by them. He said it wasn’t true and started raising his voice and waving his clip board in the air that I need to make payment. I asked several times for him to call dispatch and it was only when I picked up my phone to do so he called and verified that it was indeed scheduled on a business account. I asked dispatch for another driver because he was so rude and yelling at me. I told the driver and dispatch I felt his behavior was abusive. I did not feel comfortable riding with him. No other driver was available and dispatch over the radio said his driver is not abusive. If I want to make my appointment I have to ride with him, which I did only out of necessity. The driver continues to insult me personally with no apologies for his error or demanding payment when it wasn’t due. I called dispatch on my way home to verify a second stop was already approved and communicated by the business account and requested not to send the first driver. Dispatch confirmed my additional stop as was planned to my understanding. New driver came that was very nice but she wasn’t aware of the circumstances of the second stop.. I had just called the taxi company explained in detail and confirmed this. The new driver called dispatch before totally agreeing to what I had asked making me feel like she was going to just drop me off and leave me. This situation was resolved quickly when she communicated with dispatch but, it was unexpected and uncomfortable adding to a already frustrating morning. This cab company arrives on time as scheduled which is appreciated. The customer service and basic communication is lacking that causes problems that do not need to happen. If it’s my choice I will never use this service again.

30 minutes AFTER they were supposed to pick me up, they decided they weren’t coming, asked to speak to a manager and the boss/owner was the one who decided he wasn’t coming and wouldn’t talk to me.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are rude. They never answer the phone and sometimes when you call they dont answer but send you a text msg. You have to schedule your pick ups days and weeks in advance. I work front desk for a hotel and they were late picking up a guest. I called and the guy said you calling me isnt going to make me get there any faster and when he did show up he was wearing a trench coat with pajama bottoms and the guest didnt even want to get in the car. The car had cigarette buts all in the center console and smelled. Apparently they use their personal cars to service people around. So unprofessional and embarrassing to the community of waterloo/cedar falls.

I wouldnt send this company to pick up my dog let alone a human being. I gave them 2 chances and they failed both. I would like to leave no stars. Unreliable is an understatement. We had an appointment for my mom to be picked up at Hospice to come to a family cookout. She was going to get to see nieces she hasnt seen in 6 years. They were to pick her up at 11:00 am and bring her to my house. They said they called but I dont have a record on my call log showing it. I call at 12:20 and ask where my mom is and why she hasnt been picked up. They then inform me the manager was going to call me in a bit. He did and he told me they had no driver available. An hour and half past the time she was supposed to be picked up and they have no driver. I called Saturday afternoon to confirm pickup and the guy guaranteed me it was all good. My mom missed most of the cookout due to their irresponsibility. My 83 year old father and 2 others went and picked her up on their own. Something we could have done if we knew this company wasnt going to get her. I will not recommend them to anyone. The last time was 2 weeks ago we tried using them. That time they were almost 3 hours late. Not sure how they stay in business.

My adult son and I used dollys taxi on October 1st for an appointment in Iowa City. The transportation was arranged through our insurance. The first thing that happened was that the driver was an hour late because she went to the wrong address on the other side of town. This made us late for our appointment. Then our appointment did not get over till 4:30 p.m and we called dollys taxi to get a ride home and were told that they couldnt do that without authorization from the insurance company, because it was after hours. This was authorized a month in advance so this shouldnt have been a problem. I had to spend the next 2 hours on the phone just to get a ride home. Dollys is usually pretty good this should never have happened and you should not be reimbursed for this trip as you did not fulfill your contract.

They were 2 hours late for a surgery pick-up to drive 150 miles. Driver was required to stay on the clinic property, but left and told them not to call her while she went Crags List shopping.He absence caused medical complications now in the hands of a lawyer...

Huh, just noticed I never wrote a review. Still remember my experience.I was with a buddy drinking a beer and I had locked myself out of my car right outside SingleSpeed in Waterloo, we left at close, which was around 11 I believe.I called dolly’s they told me it would be something like 20-30 minutes. I was genuinely confused (why so long!?) but just said ok. Puzzled I thought about that for a couple of minutes and I said to my friend, “nah! That’s really long”Listen, neither one of us had the Uber app installed on our phone at that time, neither one of us had a profile with Uber until then and he was visiting from out of state.So my friend downloaded Uber, went through the sign in process, used the app for a ride and in EIGHT MINUTES our Uber ride was there...ONCE IM AT HOME my phone rings, it’s the dolly’s driver. I’m sure they didn’t appreciate me not picking up, but you know what, even on my conservative recollection of dolly’s telling me it would take them 20 minutes... I was already flippin hooooommee!Unbelievable, idk if this is a small town thing or what, this was not a weekend cab call either. If they are good I hope other customers review them and overshadow mine. If not, maybe it’s worth stating.You’re taking a risk with dolly’s for good service if you hail one of their cabs.

Absolutely the worst. I am actually almost forced by the state to use their paratransit service through Medicaid. There are two other carriers in the Waterloo area, but Dollys charges less so they our Medicaids first choice. Otherwise I would never use them again.The service is completely unreliable. On more than three occasions I have had someone arrive 1 to 3 hours early for a pickup to an appointment. I had no choice but to go, otherwise I would miss my appointment.Ive also had to wait up to an hour after an appointment to be picked up. There was one instance where I was told that the driver would be arriving in 5 to 10 minutes, but then didnt ever show up. When I called to find out where that driver was, I was told they would be there in another half hour. I ended up having to miss my appointment and reschedule completely. On two occasions, although I have been forced to ride with this service over 10 times, they said a car instead of a wheelchair accessible van. I was either late or left to reschedule an appointment because I am a wheelchair user and cannot ride in a car.A few of the drivers are pleasant, otherwise that is really all I have to say that might even remotely resemble a positive about this company. Just terrible.

Dollys Taxi is the best service my insurance company has ever referred me to. People must understand, Dollys transports medical patients, tissue/blood samples, and even an occasional transplant; they take Dialysis patients to their six hour appointments and this is a very sensitive medical treatment. I have always been on time, to early, to every appointment, but lets be real, If someone has a time sensitive appointment, make your arrangements early.The service area Dollys has diversified into is both necessary and vital to their survival because if they only focused on picking up and dropping off at the airport, they would go out of business fast. I never mind sharing a ride, or waiting for them if they have a nearby call. There are many places to sit and read, or watch TV in a doctors office so, if I am there on-time, waiting is always part of the process. When I travel for business, I make arrangements well in advance and I can promise the same service from Dollys. I have ridden with them since last year and I have never been uncomfortable, waited too long, nor have I ever been left to find other arrangements. This is a professional service, not cabbies driving the streets for fares and if they carry something in the trunk, it is likely their consideration keeping fares from sitting next to tissue culture ice chests. Dollys has always been A-1 to me and they fully deserve the rating I have given. Never expect any smaller city in Iowa to drop their bread-and-butter for your meeting, or airline when these arrangements should have been made at least a week in advance. Learn before you criticize as I make my arrangements well in advance and I have nothing but good to tell folks about their service. Five stars all the way!!!

The weekend driver with long hair is awesome. The rest of this place is terrible. Tried several times to reach them last night to just get sent to a full voicemail box. So i tried scheduling a ride on thier website. Called them to confirm right before the appointment and they never made the appointment so I had to scramble for a ride to get to work on time. Im unsure why this is rated so low, I was picked up at 5am by a guy with long hair when no other taxi service, Uber, or Lyft would. Not only that he got to me within 10 minuets and was extremely friendly. He was the Batman of car ride services.

So Ive gotten to know their drivers and found that they go over and abroad to keep you comfortable. Traveling from Fargo to Mississippi to visit family during these times and we were 4.5 miles away from the nearest gas station and ran out of gas on the side of the road at 130am and the employee drove out of his way to the nearest station filled up a gas tank and brang it to us and filled us up and even follow us to the Hy-Vee gas station to make sure we got filled up and wur safe to go before he left and as always I made sure to tip him after he rejected my it a few times I made sure he took it for the help he did for me and my family no one else was open and there were. Is other gas station for miles and I really appreciate the service he providedNow I cant remember the gentlemans name but he was Workin night shift on a Saturday morning at 130 young male just wanted to thank him again and thank Dollys for hiring such great workers

Called yesterday to ask to be here at 9:30am for a 10am appointment. It’s now 10:30am and they never showed. Called the company at 10 (already late) said they were sending someone. I just called and cancelled. No one showed, no point now. Paid by debit over the phone, told me they don’t offer reimbursements. They’ll take your money but hell if they’ll give it back. Lawsuit? Anyone know how I approach this legally? Thank you!

Had to be at an appt on time and was told they were still 40 minutes away. Had to completely reschedule. Thankfully my doctor was understanding or I couldve been kicked out of my program. After reading the reviews on here, I see this is a common occurrence for this company. I hope I am never scheduled to ride with them again because that is completely unacceptable. If you cant get people to where they need to be on time, hire more drivers or drop out of business.

Constantly late picking my mom up for and from appointments. Theyre an hour and a half late today picking her up. Nick claims per their contract with Medicaid they have up to an hour after a scheduled pick up time to arrive but they clearly dont follow that rule at all. They purposely over book their drivers and then shrug off complaints as if it isnt a management problem

So beyond irritated with them. Got told theyd show up at a certain time. They are almost a hour late. I have called twice in that time. The receptireceptionist told me shed have the driver call me to let me know where she is. Havent received a call at all. I absolutely refuse to ever use them again. Looks like Im going to miss my appointment with my daughter. This is completely bad business practice. I will be calling my insurance company to make sure they dont get paid and to report this to hopefully get them taken off the list for medical transportation.

Not impressed with the service. Company was unable to meet our needs and did not accommodate or apologize (even though this trip was arranged far ahead of time). Ended up having to turn around (was unable to buckle seat belts in the back due to having a car seat and other unknown passenger in the front) and had find other means of transportation. Driver was rude towards my friend and her son. We called Dollys Taxi phone number and they told us there was nothing they could do and it was up to our driver to figure it out. Would not recommend.

They were doing really well and always really friendly but the last two times Ive used them theyve made me late for work and this last time they didnt even answer the phone! the message said the user didnt have a voicemail box set up yet-I find this very unprofessional and I had to call a different cab to get to work-almost 40 mins late! Every single time I see one of these taxies on the road they dont know how to use a turn signal. Its completely unsafe and unacceptable, have been cut off several times. I called to complain and he told me it was my personal opinion. My understanding is that it is a lawful requirement that you use a turn signal. Would give them at zero Stars if I had that option.

TRIGGER WARNING:If I could give negative stars I would. I had an emergency appointment today. I have PTSD and had a serve panic attack after a personal trauma that happened yesterday. I started having suicidal thoughts and I needed to get to my therapist to help combat it. I had to cancel therapy, because, they never showed up or called which caused another panic attack. Because, I am also physically disabled with no friends or family to help. My workers are all I have right now. I NEEDED my therapist today, but, apparently Dollys Taxi drivers have better things to do today than their job.

Just came back from an appointment 45 mins away and the female driver was ok until my daughter had an accident in her car seat as the driver pulled up. The driver assumed soooo fast and said with a nasty attitude why didnt you change her??? When i didnt know she diarrhea in her pullup until the driver pulled up and thats when my daughter started having diarrhea and i heard it. I couldnt change her because the driver pulled up. Hire more respectful drivers!! You know the ones that are caring and arent judgemental!! I love dollys taxi but drivers with an attitude will lose business if you keep having rude drivers!

My grandpa is in a care facility, on oxygen, diabetes, lung cancer, and in a wheelchair. We waited for 2 hours and 32 minutes for Dollys to pick us up from a appointment. The nurses called them 4 times to let them know we were finished and needed picked up, I called twice and finally they came. By the time they got there his oxygen tank was empty and his sugar was low. The office closed at 5pm and they picked us up at 5:45pm. They were scheduled to come and get us so they knew ahead of time about our pick up. Not to mention that since he gas been in the care facility for the last 2 months he has been late to every appointment because dollys picks him up later than scheduled. This is the worst taxi service ever and once he is out of the care facility we will never use them again. I am telling everyone I know and Ive been hearing stories from others of the same issue. If you are wanting to find a place to transport that is handicap wheelchair accessible that your insurance pays for, call someone else these people are ridiculous

Called night before to make appt. for them to pick me up at 7:30 A.M. in C.F. so I could be dropped off in time for work in Wloo (work starts at 8AM). The cab was 15 minutes late and I just barely made it to work on time. The driver was nice, but he said they didnt tell him about picking up until 7:30 that AM! If you make an appt. the night before (I didnt call at the last minute and it was an actual booking i made ahead of time!) then they should have it prioritized so that the cab can be there on time! They need to come up with a better system. Ill never call them again. First Call is almost always on time or pretty close to on time.

I which they had 1/2 Star. I could post if I didnt chose a starThere is a female person driving dolly taxi I really dont know if she is the owner. But she need to take more care of the van she is driving. It was beyond filty and nasty. There is no way a taxi cab should be in such a filty condition or state. The van was not even good enough to transport a homeless person. The floor had old fries, dirty and filty knotted dirty in the carpet. It was a grey older taxi van with no air condition. I was hot and about to pass out. I should have cancelled the taxi but I was pressing for time. I couldnt wait to call another taxi. If I could have download pictures on this review. You would see for yourselves. If this taxi ever show up. Please just cancel. Because no human being should be transported in this hot van when you are paying. Dolly Taxi you must do better. I am brand new to the Waterloo area. Upon calling and asking about rates, the rude woman, who is obviously upset she had to answer the phone, informed me Im not at my computer, so I dont know how much your cab would be She very rudely told me its a $6 pick up fee and that they have a website for my questions. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I travel all over the United States and have never had this kind of service. Use any other taxi service but not these people. They charged me $35.00 for a 6 mile ride. No meters in cars. So they charge what they want to. The seat belt did not even work in the back seat. The lady kept arguing with me that it did work. Finally I had to sit up front because it did not work. Van was nasty dirty inside. I called at 9:40am to get a cab by 10:00am. I finally was picked up at 10:40am. Unbelievable!!!! Its to bad Uber is not in this area to put these people out of business.

My seat belt was broken the driver was very rude and had his seat pushed all the way back on my sons legs for an hour drive I watched the driver improperly put the seatbelt over a person in a wheelchair because one side of the wheelchair belt was broken when I called to explain my concerns the person on the other end was very rude and I was told by the driver that took me to my appointment that I would have to wait an hour or more before I could get a ride back home I wouldn’t suggest this company to anyone horrible customer service this place doesn’t deserve one star

Called twice this evening trying to find out how long of a wait there is. I was rudly cut off and hung up on. I see that their reviews are terrible. Guessing theres a reason for that....
