Just left the Dorcas shop trying to make a donation. Volunteer was very rude and used profanity when we didnt allow him to pick and choose. Restore beside them was very grateful and appreciated the items. They seem to be more Christian orientated that the staff of of Dorcas and way more professional.

I would give them 5 stars as it is a wonderful service and super friendly staff but not opening till 11 am for the store and donations is too late! Most places, even donation centers open at 10 am .

Its a clean thrift with a wide variety of items available @ reasonable prices.

A DAY CENTER TO SHOPA hard sign that says Dorcas Ministry Shelter at the entrance then theres a parking lot to park your car, but I had to walk up to the glass door closing automatically. Theres a Thrift shop next to Dorcas to buy clothes, sneakers, socks, shirt and a black book bag. Youre sitting on the hard black bench waiting for Dorcas to open at ten O Clock.Theres a blue metal sign that youre seeing either closed or open. Silver metal Shopping carts are outside ready to be loaded with food by Cathy, Julia and Katie who are staff members wearing a maroon Dorcas collar shirt. You see Cathy outside exiting her white car at eight O Clock in the 🌄 and have a good idea of what foods you want in your large bag.Cathy, Julia and Katie always speak when they see you. The blue food pantry door is next to Dorcas clean office where youll usually see a strong older lady. Black 🖥 sitting on a high desk is what they use to check and see if you called to sign up.Event hough, theres a lot of food, snacks and drinks neatly stacked on brown shelfs and grey large refrigerators they tend to run out is usually why your only attending twice a week.Youre seeing Cathy whos exiting her white car to bring you back a full bag of food because she has a good idea of what youll eat. She carries out a full bag of Salty Raviolies, Beefaronies, salty Corn, Salty white can of Tuna, salty String Beans, sweet Chocolate Granola Bars, canned sweet peaches, salty Saltiness Crackers, Deer Purified waters, acid Diet Coca-Cola, Unsweetened Lemon Tea, Wipes, Paper Towels, Tooth Brush, Dove Deodorant and Colgate Toothpaste. At first, she bags your food everyday for you at eight O Clock in the morning then tells you to only come twice a week because theyre shortage on food.Katie sees you on the black hard bench to have a Day center to refer you by Mike so you can take a warm shower. Theyll refer you to somewhere like Oaks in Raleigh, NC. She gives you a Harris Teeter plastic card worth ninety one soft dollars to use at a local Harris Teeter and a twenty five 💵 Thrift Shop paper card to only use at the larger Thrift Shop next to Dorcas Ministry.Some items your buying like a pair of sneakers, soft white socks, a black belt, a smooth leather book bag, blue jeans, a white 👕 and more. Katie is the lady to see for shelter referrals.Youre signing up for free online or by calling their main telephone number on this landing page to leave a message and a staff member will call you to use the companys Homeless Services. Theyre ready to serve homeless members, so pass the message to those in need around you. Katie is giving you her professional business card because youre asking her to contact directly.More helpers around the world are giving soft cash, food, clothes and other types of product for homeless members. New volunteers are happily working buying affordable food from food Lion and Harris Teeter where van drivers pick - up then drop - off quality foods. 🙋‍♀️ hire a professional accountant who knows the business language and numbers in the books showing how the business is increasing or decreasing.Theyre hiring the best accountant with a lot of training to produce the best work. Their having more organization for strength, consistency and clarity. And when they have enough food stock, youre coming in for food everyday.The idea is too keep foods in stock.Buy foods only from Harris Teeter and Walgreens having lower prices like two for a dollar sales. Theyre hiring volunteers who are more cheerful and Godly by their behavior. Volunteers are always speaking more easily to you and they have exceptional communication skills.You get to pick out what types of foods interest you, so the process will be faster because your more knowing what you like. Youre always food shopping for yourself inside and having more food experiences able to make your own decisions. Feel more useful as a human being while volunteers are working more efficient.

They follow covid protocol you will definitely feel safe shopping here and staff are all friendly and accomodating if you want to look at stuff behind or in the counter.

Packed with people, and they are not following guidelines. I talked to an employeethat appeared to be in charge, and got a blank stare and a shrug. A good place to go if you would like COVID-19 at a bargain price.

Fine organization providing free durable medical equipment and food pantry to community. Thrift shop is full of clothing and household bargains. I always find at least 1 treasure when I visit.

Love in action should be the slogan for Dorcas Ministries. Compassionate, efficient service staffed by people who actually care and who actually listen to you if you are having a crisis. It is a judgment free zone where every one is welcomed no matter his/her status. This is one ministry that should be on the top of everyones charitable giving list! Your money will be well placed with this ministry.

Dorcus has a very focused ministery and the workers are all volunteers. The store is clean, the clothing is clean. It is organized quite nicely and items are priced very reasonably.It offers clean restrooms and dressing rooms. You will not be sorry you shopped or donated here.

Not only do I love volunteering at Dorcas, I also love to shop here. I have met the most wonderful people and enjoy coming in every week. The goods for sale are awesome and I get many compliments for the clothing items I purchase. A win-win all the way around!

I love Dorcas! Dorcas is the BEST thrift store around! The store funds Dorcas ministries which assists folks in need within the community. The store is clean and organized with great items and great prices plus daily specials! They sell great stuff (some brand new, never used items) not old worn out junk. Its definitely worth the trip even if you have to drive an hour to get there! If you are looking for furniture you might want to be there when the door opens at 10:00 am. If you want it, buy it, because it will likely be sold if you go back for it! Happy shopping!

This place is God sent. I needed financial help last month and the staff was amazingly helpful, caring and kind. Shootout to Marsha. She is an asset to this organization and a jewel.

Fantastic thrift shop! Its huge, and they have not only clothing and furniture, but a big jewelry counter and a great shoe selection. Tons of housewares and kids clothes. I always look here first before buying in another store because of the selection and low prices. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite non-profit ministry in the Triangle. When you donate goods or pick up great bargains in the thrift shop, you are part of something amazing that is happening in our community. Families are getting food, help with utilities and housing, job search assistance, education, health care and much more. I volunteer here and see it all firsthand. Lives are being impacted and needs are getting met. Im blessed to be a part of this ministry

This is a great place for community resources. However they only provide assistance in the Cary Morrisville areas. If you work in those cities or have children who go to school in those cities you maybe able to receive assistance as well.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! Love the store and so thankful to have been able to utilize the pantry too. Great people, great organization.

If you have something specific in mind, go to Dorcas. Chances are you will find just what you need. If you have nothing specific in mind, go to Dorcas. You will probably find just what you want, and the prices are unbeatable. The mostly volunteer staff is friendly and helpful, and you can easily spend a couple of happy hours here.

I have been a volunteer at Dorcas through my church since 2011, and I cannot stress how wonderful this place is. Prices are reasonable and affordable, the workers are helpful, and the work they do for the community is unbelievable. I donate everything there, and I also shop there quite frequently. Dorcas is one of the best thrift stores in Cary ever.

Gently used items are a bargain. l Have volunteered there many times. They do good work for the community and have strict rules about what is sold so the buyer is secure in getting quality.

I was relocated here from OKC due to a domestic violence situation. The first place I was told I could get help was Dorcas. A little financial help but mainly counseling services due to the trauma. I went 3 times and was given a list to a place in Durham. All this while I have no car, know nobody here, not even an idea where Durham was. Before I could make an appt my cell was cut off. I went to other places seeking help but well none so its a battle. I did shop there for interview wear hopefully I get lucky.

What a wonderful place to find that perfect treasure! I have found some really terrific buys over the years!

Some of the people who work or volunteer at this store have no business interacting with the public due to their bad attitude and inability to treat ALL customers in a humane manner.On March 6, 2019 at 5:00-5:30 pm, my brother made a purchase and while in the process asked a male cashier a simple question about pricing. The loser volunteer practically went ballistic and snapped a reply like a pit bull, or maybe it was his Donald Trump attitude. Needless to say, the nasty attitude and hatefulness was unnecessary and had no place in a Dorcas-centered environment. Dorcas means good deeds and this loser made the entire Dorcas Ministries staff and organization look hypocritical and un-Christian-like.I wish that underemployed and underpaid, middle-aged people would find some other means for earning their pay rather than retail.

We are a mexican family, coming from far away to shop here from zebulon nc but today, I bough a hand bag for 15 dollars and walking out of door. I checked the bag , I found some issues that I did not see so I walk back and talk to cashier a white lady, and then to a african-american lady, she told me she is the manager , and about the policy no returns , I understand that but for not being even 5 min will do the difference, wrong but it was the disrespect and lack of talk to a customer to find a solucion from this person what made me uncomfortable, she walk away from me instead a couple times very frustrating for me, I talk to her a polite as I could. Ill will continue shoping here, dorcas is not responsible for accion of only one person, just what to share with all the good shopers, l left the hand bag in store and did not received a refund. It was my choice of to do that because I did not like to be treated lile that. All my relatives shop here never a problem and will continue to do so. Thanks

Always an excellent selection and a wonderful cause

Horrible manager purchased small table today drove in the back to pick up and it was gone !!! But they dont sell furniture without a sticker on it and I had it paid in full .never got the table they refused to look at security camera its was gone in 15 min. The unpleasant manager words were maybe you should shop somewhere else really 3 week of shopping spend close to 1200 $ and you telling me to go somewhere else I will ! whoever is in charge remove the older gentlemen hes does not belong there .If you dropping off donation there are other places that are available and nicer to people who shop there.

My donations are split between here and the Habitat ReSale store in the same plaza. Product selection depends on the donations that come in.They do a good job of checking the clothing first for quality before putting it out for sale. The test all electronics before putting them out for sale as well.

The receptionist and staff was very polite and helpful.
