Today, TruGreen sprayed my yard with herbicides and performed a service that I did not request. I know this because our home security filmed them doing it. They did not knock or notify us that they would be spraying, had they done so I could have directed them to the correct house. They simply exited their vehicle and sprayed chemicals in our yard. After calling 2 times requesting to speak with someone about this issue I never got a call from the manager they stated would call. I am pregnant, have a pet, and have small children. This is dangerous. It could cause health issues for a family member or pet and they would be liable. Do not spray peoples yards that did not request the service! It is dangerous and unprofessional. I organically grow my own vegetables and do not even know if the technician sprayed near my produce. Now I am unsure as to if it is safe to eat. I understand mistakes happen but this could have been avoided if the technician simply knocked and notified us he would be spraying.

Ive used TruGreen for two summers previously, and they did fine work. This year, the quality of their service has been consistently terrible. After their technician came, I literally saw no difference in the amount of weeds in my yard. The second time this happened, I called back to request a second application of weed killer. When the technician arrived, I walked him around the yard showing him some of the problems I was having. I said As you can see, there is nutsedge throughout the yard and pointed to one particular patch of nutsedge near where I was standing. Same with crabgrass.A day or two after the application, it was apparent that the technician had only sprayed the weeds in the specific places I had pointed to. There were still patches of crabgrass and (especially) nutsedge throughout the yard that were growing aggressively in the warm weather.I didnt think I would have to walk a professional lawn technician around the yard and point out every single weed that I wanted to have killed.I am attaching photos that I took about a week after the last herbicide application (some before mowing the grass, some after) to show how healthy the nutsedge was after I had asked TruGreen to kill it.After this experience, I cancelled my service, and as a final insult, I continue to get sales calls from TruGreen, almost a month after the service was cancelled.

I have been trying to call these people as my yard is now a mass of weeds. They say they will treat but dont show up. They will NOT return calls. Today I finally got through to a guy from the Commercial side and asked him to cancel my service and send a refund. So disappointed. I do not recommend them at all.

TruGreen managed the care of our new Zeon sod for the past year, and 50% of the lawn died. They completely mistreated the new Zoysia and are not able to be reached for any review of the situation. Their procedures are structured intentionally to make it hard to reach someone and impossible to schedule an appointment. We are requesting a full refund, and we have to replace half of our lawn once again. I recommend that no local homeowners ever use their service.

I am writing this review after having seen this happen at my parents house. I helped them prepare their yard for the season and they had already gotten topsoil mixture and seeded a bunch. The grass was looking wonderful until TruGreen came around. Several times my parents told them that when they came not to spray any weed killer on the yard because they had just seeded and the weed killer would also kill that seed and any new grass that was growing. All that was needed was for the grass to be fertilized. The person that came did not even read the paper work which also stated that no weed killer was to be used and sprayed the yard. Obviously the end result was that this ended up killing the new grass seed. Furious, my parents called and called and called to get someone to come fix the issues. It took the better part of a month to get someone to come out and even then all they did was spend maybe 10 minutes putting a little more seed down. They didnt dig it in, didnt put any straw down, or anything that would have come close to fixing the issue. The lack of customer service, and the lack of basic understanding to read directions could have avoided the issue in the first place. My parents have heard from numerous neighbors that this was definitely not the first time this happened after they came to ask what happened to their yard. The overall response has been abhorrent from this office and they will definitely not be getting anymore business or recommendations from my parents. There hasnt even been any acknowledgement that they screwed up royally. Anyone in the Cary, Apex, Morrisville area need to be wary of using them. Ive included before and after photos of what happened.

TruGreen is a joke We used their services and our yard never improved. All of our family members and friends have cancelled their accounts. If you are lucky you may have the same technician for the entire season, but never for 2 seasons in a row. Technician turnover is off the chart. Most of my former technicians never knew the property boundaries or even what kind of grass we had. If you have a question, concern or damage to your property, you call the national telephone number, they send an email to the local manager who services your account and HE NEVER CALLS YOU ABOUT YOUR ISSUES (NEVER)!!!The manager of the Cary NC office never contacted us about numerous damages issues or poor service qualities. If your considering service in central NC and your told the Cary, NC office will be your provider....run away from TruGreen as fast as you can. We signed our mother up for Trugreen service, she is 87, a widow with Alzheimers, the very first service the technician shows up, parks in her driveway, gets out of the truck, lights a cigarette, talks on his cell phone for about 15 mins, runs the manual spreader down her front yard for 8 trips, and leaves her a bill that he treated her entire yard. All of this was captured on her outdoor security camera. We called the Cary manager and again, he never called us back as we requested, so he could review the issue. Most of the managers are technicians who could apply fertilizer better than anyone else I assume. This company has killed our grass, our bushes and torn up brick retaining walls and made large ruts in our yard and road ditches. We have contracted a local, hardworking company that works real hard to keep our yard looking great. Trugreen deserves a negative 5 star rating. They are the worst company we have ever dealt with in our entire lives. Save your money people!

STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN We have never even been TruGreen customers. Last year we installed new Zoysia sod and had been working with the installer to get everything just right. We had finally established the lawn and were allowing it to root. We were told to not aerate or perform any maintenance for the first year while the sod established. About 5 months later, TruGreen ran a stand-up aerator through our entire lawn. They visited our house by mistake and without checking with us first. No remedy was offered by TruGreen, we eventually got the manager to agree to write a letter promising to address issues if they occurred in the following season. The new season came and we could tell that weeds were prominent in the curvy path that the aerator had taken. We had green grass and weeds mixed with our new Zoysia. We promptly called on TruGreen and at first it was promising they sent a sod company out to quote the corrective action. However, we have now been run through the gauntlet of round robin of contacts and eventually into silence from all parties. Time to go to court... Not even a TruGreen customer - definitely never going to be one now! Now that this has happened to us we are hearing so many horror stories from our neighbors and friends.

If I could give -5 stars I would in a heartbeat. TruDirt is a joke! TruGreen offered a “no risk” promotion for lawn care for a year and after paying more than what the competitors offered, we are left with zero grass on our front lawn and very little on the sides and back yard. After calling the regional manager and Raleigh office several times asking them why? I was never given an answer and when I asked for our money back, I was told that is not there policy. There was huge risk: I lost my lawn and money. I’ve been told the Raleigh office would be in contact with me and still no word from them for the past 2 months. Stay far away from TruDirt. I gave TruGreen plenty of opportunity. Numerous times I was told that they were coming out, but they never came out and I constantly had to call to find out why. Even one time they said they did come out and charged my credit card, but I was home all day long and I have cameras at front and back and no receipt on the door handle that they always leave and no flag at the street which they always leave. If a company is going to call and say theyre going to come out, I expect them to come out unless its raining. Especially when I want to be there when they are doing the service. When Henry Miller was working and my service person, I never had any trouble. He always showed, always was polite and did the job he was supposed to do. Since he left, I have had nothing but issues. Not only that, but they never killed the crabgrass. It is still there and still spreading. Just dont want to work with a company that continuously disappoints time after time.

My husband simply inquired about pricing for services and we got harassed with phone calls for two days. The first call after the inquiry he answered talked to them and got the information he needed. The guy asked to call him the next day (a Tuesday) he told them he would be working. The decision to use them or not was going to be made between the two of us. Tuesday they called my husband 12 times from TruGreen!! Sometime calls would be 10 minutes apart, sometimes 30 minutes, and sometimes an hour. All day he got these phone calls while he was at work. Wednesday he continued getting calls even after tell them to stop calling. The first time he asked them to quit calling he got hung up on. We have decided not to use them to care for our lawn because of the harassment for two days! My advice to anyone looking for a lawn care service is to go to a small local business where they are actually professional and don’t harass you even after being asked to stop calling. Former Employee. This company is truly a fat scam. They push applications out on the customers just to get your money and you still see no results. If youre waiting for weeds to go away good luck, the products they send out with techs rarely if ever are formatted to kill anything other than poa and nutsedge. That crabgrass youre complaining about will never go anywhere they have nothing to get rid of crabgrass, only a pre-emergent, which will only stop crabgrass that hasnt grown yet. Youre wasting your money half of the techs dont even do your full application, just put a little fertilizer down to make it seem as if they did something then on to the next house. Half the techs are just sitting in front of your houses to meet time quotas.TruGreen tricks customers into thinking theyre problems are being solved by offering free re services. These re services 90% of the time are pointless, re services are usually for crabgrass and other broadleaf weeds when the only time these weeds can be maintained are earlier in the season before they pollinate.SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

I have no grass in my back yard and new grass was what I wanted from their services. Weed control is nice and fertilizer is good but mainly I wanted grass. When the pro came to my home and spray he was very friendly and was confident that grass will grow in my dirt patch of a lawn. After I read over my lawn analysis I realized no mention of new grass or grass growth expectancy was mentioned. I followed up and called about this issue. The customer service agent was very kind, she mentioned that this is a common concern with new customers ( red flag ). But we both couldnt think of how grass could possibly grow if there is no grass to begin with so she transferred me to her manager. This kind gentlemen had an answer...and he told me that the grass from my front yard and neighbors yard would grow over and into my back yard. What!! He truly stuck to this theory even though I told him a house and driveway separated the two.Within a few days I received a call from the Cary manager, I think his name was John. He was very upfront and very concerned that I had questions that werent answered. He offered solutions that made sense and that would cost more money. In the end he agreed that if there is no grass they they cant help. He apologized for other employees who were misleading or inexperienced as he put it and refunded my money. Its a shame it took many steps before an honestly evaluation was done. They wasted time, money and resources. I hope they can find a good system to better help the companys profits in the future.

They always show up at some random time and leave a cryptic note outside about what they did. We have Bermuda grass. They can and applied fesque seeds in it. It is a lawn company and they don’t know the difference between the two types of grass. DO NOT sign up with this company.

I had requested them to re-do the application and got charged for it when it is suppose to be free if you are not satisfied with the service. They also seem to schedule on a 4-week basis for a yearly plan that covers only 7 services which seems dishonest to me . I have to call everytime to delay the service and put me on a six or seven week schedule. This is entirely inconvenient for me. I will use a different service once my contract expires.

I received incorrect information about when to aerate when I signed up for service in March 2020. I was told that I should not aerate in the spring, but that I should in the fall. Because of that information, the money I could have used for the aeration, was instead spent on purchasing sod. After 2 services(now the end of April), it was suggested that I aerate as soon as possible. I used the chat feature and requested that we split the aeration cost 50/50 due to them giving me the wrong information. After about an hour of back and forth, I was told to call. I call and the rep also tells me that I should have an aeration done in the spring, but that Id have to talk with a manager, who wouldnt be back until the following week. When I finally talk to the manager, he offers me less of a discount than the chat, and he initially tells me that the aeration should be done in the spring. After I express my dislike for his offer, he then tells be about when aerations can be done in Texas, then says that I can do an aeration any time during the year. He was very obnoxious and had a nasty attitude. His name is Anthony and I believe hes in the Cary, NC location. This may have been the worst customer service experience Ive ever had. Our neighbor has the same grass and his looks better/has fewer weeds without treatments. Every year our lawn has had more and more weeds. We plan to continue our lawn service to see if things improve through the remainder of the year.We tried the tree and shrub treatments as well. We believe our trees/shrubs were treated twice resulting in two of our Japanese maple trees being damaged (lost more than half of their new leaves right after the last treatment). Our neighbor happens to have the same trees which lost no leaves at all. Those trees receive the same amount of sun, water, etc. They did refund our money for that and our remaining treatments when we discontinued, but I think its a waste of money. Last year I decided as new home owners to find a company to handle the weeds we’d purchased along with our house and so I gave them a try. The price seemed fair so why not? They sprayed the front and not the back, which I found questionable. But I was really upset that they’d sprayed a 3 foot fog tree I planted. It curled up and took more money than I’d payed them to rehabilitate in what is almost a year later, a 12 inch twig. It wasn’t even that the plant soaked up the chemicals from nearby soil, as when they left it was saturated with chemicals as though it’d rained. Mind you, it didn’t rain all week.Customer service refunded my charge promptly and cancelled future service but now I’m inundated by spam mail from them even though I specifically asked to be left alone going forward. Not only do I get mail, but I get hanging door messages asking for me to use them.It didn’t work out but they continue to bother me like an ex relationship despite knowing it’s over. They’re 5-7 minutes of work cost me money and hours of time to repair the damage done. That added with the continued disrespect of my wishes to not be contacted by them make this a company I would recommend avoiding at all costs. When choosing a lawn service company, it is important for the employees involved to be competent, professional and responsive. Last year, I wanted a green lawn, so I reached out to TruGreen. This was a very expensive mistake. For more than three times what I could have done myself, the company missed weeds, couldnt tell me what kind of grass was in my yard (Fescue mixed with Ryegrass) and when I inquired about their so-called guarantee, I was told to get lost. Escalating the problem will not solve it, because this is a company that only cares about revenue, not results. Save yourself the time and expense and do it yourself. Google the Lawn Care Nut. I would give zero stars if I could. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a service before. When we moved in to our new home, we had no had no grass. We contracted trugreen and they literally sold us a dream. They talked about how we’d be able grow beautiful grass with their service. Shame on us because we fell for it. We paid almost $700 for their service which included aeration and lime, and the continued weed control and fertilizer. We had to spend about $150 on Bermuda grass seeds, which they laid. Their service did absolutely nothing. All the money we spent and we literally had about 5 patches (about 3-4 INCHES in length) for our entire 8,000 square foot backyard of Bermuda grass. In August 2019, we requested a refund because we were totally dissatisfied. A manager, Josh Leamson, came to our house and agreed the seeding didn’t work and said in Spring 2020, he would come out and till and repurchase our grass seeds. Spring 2020 came. We tried to contact Josh. Took a couple weeks to hear back from him. It was incredibly difficult to get in contact with him each time we’ve tried to reach out to him. Ended up getting him to call me back after we contacted the customer service center. He said he’d be out in 2 weeks (that was about 3 weeks ago). As stated before, they said they would till; however josh then said they would be dethaching because they don’t tiller (we have an email from him saying he would till. Why say you’d till if your company doesn’t have the equipment???). Fast forward to today, they came out to do the dethatching. The equipment couldn’t get through out soil, so the guy left. We heard back from the manager two hours later (which is unacceptable) who just said they wouldn’t be able to do the service because of the soil and equipment. He said just “water the soil and it should be fine.” Literally the ONLY reason we didn’t cancel when we wanted to last year was because of the promise to till in the spring. And apparently now they can’t even do that. We’ve requested an entire refund for their services because we are completely back to square one. NO GRASS AT ALL. It was horrible and we are out of a lot of money because of this. Here is a break down of our WASTED money:Trugreen service- about $700Grass seeds- $150Increased water usage (to water seeds they laid)- $300Now we will have to purchase a tiller and try to do the work ourselves, so that will be about an additional $200.Josh said he will reach out to the GM to request our refund today and we should hear back today (5/15) or Monday. At this point, that is the only option that will make any of this right. They claim to have a customer satisfaction guarantee and a full refund will be the only thing that will make me satisfied (and a full refund still won’t set us back at square one since we paid the additional money for the seeds and increase water bill). I will provide an update to this review once I hear back from the company on how they plan rectify this.Update: Josh called us back on 5/15 and said we would get a refund for the entire amount we paid for the annual service. It took a longer than we expected. Tried to reach the manager josh again— he didn’t even bother to call us back. We reached out to customer service and the woman said she would get josh to call us back and would personally monitor the case to ensure he called us back. We never heard back from either of them. We finally received the refund about 2 days (6/3/2020). Took about 2.5 weeks. I do appreciate their willingness to refund us for everything we paid; however, I still wouldn’t , recommend this company to anyone. A disappointment. We ended up achieving the lawn we wanted by tilling our own lawn and laying down sod. The only positive was the preemergent they put on our lawn was effective; however their post emergent was subpar and we repeatedly had to call them to get them to retreat our yard. You’d be better trying to get a small local company to care for your lawn.

Since I canceled the service they have called at least 10 times after that and each time I ask them to stop calling and delete my number. They still keep calling so I started blocking their numbers but they still keep calling from different ones. If youre the type of person who like being harrassed then by all means this is the company for you otherwise stay away.

@OwnerThank you for your response, however if you really wanted to use this opportunity to improve then you should sod my yard so I can get it back to normal. If you dont want to pay for that, then you can drop off sod. I will do the work to put it in. I refused a refund from your company because $300 does not cover the cost of the amount of sod I need to fix this. Your technicians used too much fertilizer and weed killer and burned my grass. Seeding will not fix this. Ive spoken with 2 other lawn care experts and they agree with both of my previous statements. My HOA will fine me if its not fixed and could revoke my privileges. If you truly want to improve your service, you need to learn how to correct mistakes youve made. I work in emergency services, we train hard to not make mistakes but when we do, we go above and beyond to rectify that mistake. Its called good customer service.

BAD COMMUNICATIONS!! RUINED MY YARD! We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on our extensive yard over the years. We were very happy with EPM, who got bought out by TruGreen back in the winter. TruGreen was contacted numerous times to change our contact information, yet after EIGHT MONTHS OF OUR CALLING THEM they still had bad information in their system. Our once beautiful yard is full of crabgrass - the part that is still alive, that is - because they did not call me to tell me when they were coming out, so work did not get done in the spring. We opted to give them a chance this fall to rectify things, but we had to delay re-seeding (which they were going to charge us for!) because of the drought and because we needed some dirt for several areas. Management NEVER called me, and they ignored my request to delay the re-seeding for a more propitious time. They did not care about the success of the new seed, they were actually going to charge me to fix mistakes they made, they did not contact me at all. I fired them today. Plenty of other companies want our business. They lost a good customer.

Terrible customer service/super aggressive sales tactics that I would consider disrespectful, even when a paying customer. As expected, customer service was terrible when I attempted to cancel services after 6 years. They do not view their customer relations as something deserving of respect. They just want your money and will be disrespectful and shady in order to get it.

There were couple guys going around our neighbor trying to sell the TruGreen service. I spoke with one guy and with some official discount it would cost me be about $255 for 9 treatments. He made sounds like he could do something to make the deal, but after talking for over 30 minutes or so, we agreed on $250 for 9 treatments. And he was showing me this program sheet which showed 8 treatments, but kept telling me that Ill be signed up for something else so that I will get 9 treatments. At one point he made it sound like I will get 8 and if I call and ask for it, I can get 9 services, but if I dont I will get 8. Then he later changed and started to tell me 9 treatments is what I will be signing up and I wouldnt need to call to get the full 9 treatments. So this whole deal sounded bit fishy and there was nothing written saying I will get 9 treatments for $250 that we agreed on.Since this is a big company and if anything goes wrong, I can contact my credit card to get my money back, I gave my contact and credit card info to sign up. I was told I will get couple calls from the local office to get confirmation and etc on that night, but nothing happened. But I did see my credit card charged next day for $255.70 (not $250 that we agreed on) and I started to get couple of emails from TruGreen including next service appointment.Well, since it looked like everything was on their system, I called to check what I have signed up and also to adjust the charge to what we agreed on. The customer service rep told me that I am signed up for total of 8 treatments and it is $255.70 total. I told the whole story about the sales guy and the service rep tried to help, but he could not get me the $250 for 9 services which is what I had originally signed up. So I cancelled the whole thing and I will never deal with TruGreen again and I will tell my experience with them as many people as I can.So... I dont know how well they treat weeds and keep the lawn nice and healthy, but their salesman making false promise to sell was just horrible and after reading most of the reviews here, it doesnt sound like they do well with lawn either. So I am just glad that I got out of this whole thing with TruGreen. Now I have to tell this news to my wife... she was happy to hear that I was going to start using the lawn treatment service.. but now she will be disappointed again.. darn...P.S. The sales guy told me that applying fertilizer will make my big bald areas all green again without any lawn re-seeding even if the area was destroyed due to weed killer and theres no lawn. I should have just rejected the guy when I heard this...

Terrible lawn service. After using trugreen for the last 2 years and wasting over $5k on my yard, my lawn looks AWFUL!! They have no clue what they’re doing, can’t get grass to grow, can’t kill weeds. Everytime you call to complain their response is “well we can send someone out to respray”. Well respraying isn’t going to do anything if you’re watering down your chemicals so much to make your profits look better.Long story short, hire a local company that knows what they’re doing and actually cares about their service or like the old saying goes. If you want something done right, do it yourself. That’s what I’m doing now, saving money, and actually have green grass growing.

Bad service and they try to up sell you every chance they get. When I talk with them on the phone I felt like I was talking to a used car or mattress salesman. I never gave them permission to aerate my lawn, but they came to my house and knocked on my door ready to do it and fortunately my wife was home to turn them away. After several years of service my law got worse so I dropped them. I thought about signing back up with them a year later, so I requested a quote and talked on the phone with them. I told them I needed time to think and would get back to them. The next day they called me at least eight times and did not leave a message. I blocked them from my phone as I dont like the hard sale.

Took advice from relative whose yard really looked great after a year with this company. Mine, however, looked worse after a year of treatments. Several weeks ago, parts of my yard were overrun with tall, fast growing weeds. Rep/tech who responded to my complaint said that they were “wild” and didn’t/wouldn’t respond to Trugreen’s standard applications. $1k+ spent, yard looks worse, dissatisfied (ex) customer.

Trugreen sprayed mosquito spray without actually being in contact with me. This seems reckless and so irresponsible to be spraying a chemical without homeowners knowing. Kids, pets could be rolling around minutes after without knowing if they just got home after the spray. I never agreed to the spray and they claim it was from last year ... 9 months ago!Tonight I just received a bill after customer service waived the service after I called to complain ... laughable.Oh and it was raining on the day he sprayed mosquito spray ... horrible decision making all around.

I had some brown spots in my yard and some weeds, nothing out of the ordinary. I contacted Trugreen lawn care to fix this. They came out and promised they could get my yard green. After paying $306 they came out and did several treatments. Sometime in August my grass turned brown and then died. I thought it would come back. I contacted them and they sent a tech to do another treatment. This only made it worse. I finally realized my grass was dead and contacted them again in December to talk to a supervisor. He said he would come out and never showed up or called. After countless phone calls he finally showed up in mid January. He tried to tell me on the phone that we didnt have enough rain this summer. In person he told me we had too much rain and it looks like I had a fungus. The mud/dead grass stops at my neighbors property line. I dont think a fungus would know where to stop killing grass along a perfectly straight line. None of my neighbors have dead grass and no one in my 300+ home neighborhood has dead grass. Every time I go outside with my son to play, we have to wear old shoes because we have nothing but mud in our backyard. After 1 meeting and several phone calls they have refused to lay sod in my yard. I even told them I would do the work if they could just drop off the sod. They offered my money back. If my grass was the same as it was before they killed it, I would accept that. It will cost me $1500 or more to buy the yard not including labor. They have multiple unresolved complaints on the BBB, so I didnt even bother with that. I just want to be able to play ball with my son this summer without my shoes getting drenched in mud. Its is like taking your car in for an oil change and they break your transmission, I dont need the money back for an oil change when I need thousands of dollars for a new transmission.

We moved to a new place and were looking for lawn care .The sales person, Anthony, was driving though the neighborhood trying to round up sales. We told him we werent happy with TRUGreen last time. He promised it would be different. He gave us a special price to earn back our business. He gave us his cell phone number if we had concerns. Long story short - they ruined a brand new healthy lawn. Anthony did nothing to help. They refused to honor the price. Run away! The supervisor tried his hardest to help the lawn recover but it will take years. The office structure is useless for customer service. 😣

Had my first treatment 12 days ago. Unfortunately I was not at home when my service was done so I do not know what the technician did/areas he covered in my backyard. I had lots of large weeds in back yard and waited a week and saw zero wilting of the weeds so I called and thankfully they offered to respray today which I appreciated. I understand it takes 21 days to see results but you should see a tiny bit of wilting at least after a week. So technician came again today to respray and before even looking at my backyard said that and then I showed him and he agreed that yes it looks like my backyard wasnt even sprayed. The technician did not say much or explain the process or that he covered my entire backyard or not so I guess Ill just assume he did. You would think if something wasnt done correctly the customer would get an apology from the technician for the previous service man missing treating the area correctly and be a little more thorough with explaining things if a retreat has to be done. Going to see how things turn out after the respray but havent been impressed so far with this company. If I am paying a decent amount for the service, I expect a good/thorough job to be done.

Horrible service. I used TruGreen for two years and couldn’t figure out why my grass was dying. I received a second opinion and was told I had 2 different grass types and they were being treated improperly. TruGreen did not acknowledge this issue and was treating my grass improperly which caused it to die. I decided to start using Eastern Turf Lawn services and my grass is now weed free and thriving. I would NOT recommend Tru Green to my worst anyone!

Very bad company to work with, they have no concern for their customers. I asked a manager to come out 6 times when the techs showed up. No one ever called or showed up. Aside from 1 or 2 folks, this company doesn’t care at all about your lawn. They come and spray every 4-6 weeks and you don’t hear from them otherwise, even though you’re constantly reassured service will improve. We called and spoke with them about our service concerns a few months back and began dealing with the service manager instead of our usual guy, but we’ve seen no improvement in service. We’ve been told that we have the “Trugreen Lawn Gaurentee”, meaning we’ve been customers for long enough that they’ll come out as often as we need... but it takes 3 weeks to get someone on the phone. They sprayed pre emergent on grass seed THEY put in our lawn, despite our attempt to call and remind them they had just seeded. So now we’ll have to reseed. If your lawn needs a lot of help, TruGreen is a waste of time and money. Better off educating yourself and treating your own lawn.

If I could give this company zero stars, I most certainly would. We hired TruGreen to maintain our brand new zoysia sod and they failed miserably. They mixed it with fescue, after we had clearly indicated it was zoysia. They ended up killing our grass and even creating bald spots in our front yard bad enough to have HOA send us letters to better care our yard. Now we have 4-5 different types of grass in our front yard and they are giving us the run around and not taking responsibility for they great mistake. Horrible company! Consider going elsewhere.

Terrible company with terrible billing policies. They don’t allow you to sign up for auto pay if you’ve already had a service complete, then, when you pay, but for credit card issues the payment doesn’t go through, the first you hear from them is a letter from a collection agency!!? I even had them call and try to sell me on more services in between without them mentioning there was a balance on my account. Will never use them again.

I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to make sure I bring awareness to the experience I had with TruGreen. I spoke with Norman Gillis on Monday, September 11th in the morning. I responded to a flyer he left at my door for lawn service. He initially answered my questions, however at the end of the conversation I told him I would like to think things over and I would follow-up with him once I have made a decision. At this point he told me verbatim that it was not okay to think about it. I couldnt believe what I heard so I clarified that he said that. He then told me again that it was not okay to think things over and that too much time had been wasted. He then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted to call back he would pass me to someone else to speak with. He was completely unprofessional at that point and basically indicated that I had wasted his time and because I did not want to make an on the spot decision it was a problem for him. He kept insisting that I go ahead and either prepay or give them my card information to put on file, so he could set up my appointment. During the conversation he also told me that if I wasnt going to stick with the service long-term that he wouldnt want to sign me up for service. I have never in my life had a business tell me that I could not think about a decision.I immediately called the main customer service number to report the poor customer service. The representative told me the matter would be escalated to the branch manager at the Morrisville location located at 300 Dominion Drive, Morrisville, NC. I requested that a manger call me back the same day and the representative assured me a manager would call me. Well fast forward to today September 19th and a manger still has not called. After this incident I researched their reputation and I noted that almost all of their reviews are negative. They have horrible reviews whether you look at Facebook, Google, Yelp or Better Business Bureau. I will be posting this review on other social media feeds as well as the Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend that you deal with Norman Gillis (based out of Morrisville/Cary) or TruGreen at all. They do not value customers and only care about how much they can sell someone.

I had Trugreen for more than 7 years and they have done some underhanded sales tactics that made me finally stop my service. I dont make a lot of money so I budget the best I can and this year, I ended up needing to cancel my last 2 services. The customer service rep told me that she wanted to keep me and she would give me one free service. So, I agreed and kept it. I got a bill from them saying I owed them money for the service and so i call them up and the customer service rep said to not worry about it, the bill must of have been sent out before they put it in. Some time later, I get another bill saying i am past due, and my last service for the year was coming up. I called customer service again upset because Ive had to call now 3 times about the same service. It was more of a hassle and I had Trugreen b/c i wanted an easy hassle free services, but they are playing games trying to keep customers Im guessing or just really incompetent. So, I did pay my bill..no freebie and I cancelled my service.
