Ive been training here a little over 2 years. I had no previous martial arts training at all. Coach Hicks, with the help of other advanced coaches and students, really helped me develop not only a passion for the sport, but a level of physical fitness and mental strength I would not have otherwise been able to attain. I was slightly apprehensive at first joining a gym with not many other female members. Everyone in the gym is courteous and keeps the training centered around jiu-jitsu or boxing. Ive never felt uncomfortable in any way. I would recommend Hicks MMA to anyone who wants a fun, alternative way to get in shape while also learning helpful life skills.

I have Know Marcus hicks since I was a kid hes a great mentor and runs a very great class for boxing and jujitsu and is very knowledgeable about the sport!

My husband and I joined the gym a little under a year ago and both agree that that was one of the best decisions we have made regarding our health and fitness. I have to admit it is a bit intimidating at first but as soon as you set foot on that mat you are family. Ive never been to a better school for Mixed Martial Arts. Coach Hicks has taken my boxing and jiu-jitsu to new heights and my skills are improving day in and day out with the help and support that Coach brings me. Not only is the coaching great but its the best team atmostphere Ive felt since I was back in high school wrestling.

Ive had the privilege of taking private lessons for many years with numerous high level instructors in Boxing, Muay Thai, NOGI grappling and BJJ over the last 13 years. Coach Hicks is by far the most caring and knowledgeable teacher that Ive ever encountered. His experience and knowledge of what works and what doesnt comes from years of being a professional fighter. He has literally dedicated his life to teaching his students how to protect themselves in a real world altercation, perform effectively in competition and strengthening ones mindset in order to never give up. Im honored to call him my coach and friend.

My kids have gone here for almost 3 years as of writing this. My wife has also done womens self defense, boxing and bjj. I cant imagine another gym for my family. I have been going to Hicks MMA for eight months and I couldnt be happier. When I started with Coach Hicks, I was four months post partum and had 15lbs that I could not shake. With careful monitoring from Coach Hicks, I have lost the weight, gotten stronger, and Im in better shape than before I had my baby, all while improving on my BJJ journey and becoming part of an MMA family. My husband and I have gone to different gyms around the Carrollton area to train (in boxing and BJJ) and not one measures up to Hicks MMA for the level of skill and professionalism you will experience.
