Long overdue review! My husband and I moved in November 2020. I was 9 months pregnant at the time. We stumbled upon this gem by chance after getting the run around from another complex we were set to move into. The application process was super fast. Adriana and Betsy helped us with getting everything approved and set up. They are the nicest office staff Ive ever seen. Couldnt ask for anything more from them. Elder is the sweetest guy ever! Hes always friendly and very informative and explains everything in detail when needed. Great staff. Great property. They will go above and beyond for you.

I was going to renew my lease at this community. I addressed some concerns with the VP of Protea Real Estate, Lawrence, that had occurred during my lease. He’s a very rude man. He sees no wrong in his staff or the operation he’s running. The staff are very incompetent and barely speak English. Appliances are always breaking down... and a list more of problems.

This review is long overdue. This community appears to be nice, but management sucks. So, it makes living in this apartment community not worth the money.Management is all over the place...Unresponsive on serious needs ... and maintenance is not reliable. The apartments are nice, but it takes more than nice interior for me to be able to give a community a raving review. This has made my experience poor here and I suggest others to look elsewhere before settling here.

I went for a tour during the week, but nobody was in the front office. The front doors were unlocked, but nobody at their desk. I waited 15 minutes then left. Would not recommend.

A good apartment community starts with the management and maintenance. This is what Spicewood Crossing has. A reason why we called Spicewood home for many years. Betsy and Elder really are sweet people that make you feel like they want you to live there. If we had any problems with our apartment, the maintenance request were handled professionally and quick. The community was kept clean, beautiful and quiet. If you are looking to find an apartment to call home, this would be where I would start.

The office claims that you cannot pay your rent online but the f’ing website still allows you access to do soPoorly managed complex and way too expensive. But the office doesn’t hesitate to send another copy of the lease to control the comments because they don’t like the comments

They are not BBB accredited and there’s a reason why....They are the worst management company. They have many filed complaints. Their properties are all second chance housing. So this might be why..They are owned by Protea Real Estate

I lived at this complex for three years and I could not endorse it highly enough. The beauty and cleanliness of the grounds, the quality of the apartments, the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, the wonderful neighbors all made this the best apartment-living experience Ive ever had. Elder and the maintenance crew hopped on issues quickly and thoroughly, we never had to report something broken twice. I would have lived here well into my 70s if I could have.If you are apartment hunting, look no further. This is the best place to live in North Dallas.

Amazing complex, Betsy has always been of great help. I am on my 3rd lease with the community getting ready to go for a 4th lease. I have never had a single complaint with the community, everyone here is extremely friendly and Elder always responds quickly to maintenance calls. I have never been with a better community. The only thing I could ever ask for is another dumpster for trash as the single dumpster we have always overflows by Monday. Other than the its always quiet and there is no issues with any crime here. I am proud to call this place home.

I have lived at Spicewood Crossing for almost 1 year and Ive loved every moment of it. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the couple of times Ive had maintenance issues a resolution was made quickly. I am going to truly miss living at Spicewood Crossing but youve set the bar very high for me and I hope my next community will provide the same level of service as you have.

My husband and I loved these apartments! Betsy in the office is very kind and helpful, the maintenance guys are on top of their game; any problems were fixed within a few hours. Lovely and safe neighborhood, the grounds are well maintained, and parking was rarely a problem. On top of it all they have amazing cookies in the office all the time.

Great place to live. Overall quiet, residents respect one another, management is attentive, and its stays clean. There is a great value in the amount and quality of apartment you get for the pricing. If you sign a lease, feel free to write my name down as a referral.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon before 2 PM. There was one gentleman working who seemed nice enough...he was helping other perspective residents. No problem. Before he took them on a tour he came to the waiting area where I was. He asked me which apartment size I was looking for I told him..he then asked me how much I was wanting to spend I told him then he a quoted me a price just out of my price range. Kinda suspicious to me since he didn’t find out more information or the date range I was trying to move...pricing fluctuates with the moving date..everyone knows that. No thank you. I’ll take my money somewhere else..

My Family and I have called Spicewood Crossing home since moving to the Dallas area four years ago. We absolutely love the Spicewood family. Ive read most of the reviews from other residents and former residents and I get it. I can understand their frustration with noisy neighbors, dumb policies for dna testing and etc. One thing I will say though is that the management team did a great job of managing the property and attempting to balance the many many priorities of a very demanding and diverse community. Many residents confuse a Leasing Office with a concierge service and expect the leasing managers to kiss their asses and bend over backwards to accommodate their every need. I know that the management team may not be the most personable and may have their weird qwerks at times. I like to approach every situation looking at it from the others point of view. Most of the time that you need to call or communicate with a leasing manager its because of a problem or to have an uncomfortable $$ rent discussion. Having to deal with that type of negative communication will take a toll on a person and make them want to be distant so as to not make any more enemies. If you do decide to call Spicewood Crossing your home, be sure to befriend your management team. Support them on the many monthly events that they host and most of all BE UNDERSTANDING of the pressures that they deal with on a daily basis in order to make you and your home safe and comfortable.Ill come down off my soapbox and will stop defending the management team and talk about the actual property now.The landscaping and grounds of the property have always been beautiful and kept up regularly. There are a few rude residents that do not pick up after their pets, but the majority are very responsible (shameful bad apples). The maintenance man is VERY friendly, VERY efficient and extremely helpful. My kids loved Mr. Elder. My only complaint about the property is that they do not have 3 bedroom townhomes so that my family and I could have stayed with them much longer than we did. Everything about this property was perfect, we just wish we had more room for our growing family.Absolutely fantastic property and if you do decide to live here or anywhere for that matter make sure you befriend your leasing office team and I guarantee you a great experience.
